The death of cute


Ailein frowned as he made his way home from work.. He was bored with his life and utterly tired of people making fun of him. Not to mention everything that could go wrong seemed to go wrong. Just as he was thinking this the inevitable happened: his car broke down. Blame it on Ailein's bad luck.

With a sigh the man got out of his car and stared at it. He knew nothing of mechanics and thus could not fix his car. His cellphone had died earlier that day so he couldn't' call to get a tow... His eyes went from building to building, they came to rest on a pet store. That was promising.

He walked inside and glanced at all the animals and smiled to himself. Why not get a companion while he was here? He edged around the cage of a black cat and found a cage of energetic promising creatures. The sign read 'Chinchillas'. They were expensive little creatures....He glanced around for the shop owner but didn't find anyone and frowned. “Here little one...” He picked up one of the creatures and smiled at it. It was adorable!

The large rodent let out a squeal of fear and struggled to get loose. The surprised male let go and backed up, bumping into a shelf. The shelf rattled and groaned as a large bag of feed slid off the edge. Ailein only had time enough to look up and scream as it came crashing down on top of him. His neck snapped and he was killed instantly.

Spirits of a nature unknown started to clean up the mess made by the unlucky man. Teleporting him to their world they began the repairs on his crushed form and separated his soul to send it off to be bonded with a deity. His now lifeless body was left with a gold chain around his neck in a bed on the Samadueanna, where his information was now being processed in the computers and a cheerful little boy was bouncing into the room carrying a book and a PDA, ready to inform him of his task. A relic that resembled a heart made of feathered wings appeared around his neck-a sign that he would soon wake from this "slumber" and within moments the young man found himself alive again.

Ailein sat up with a gasp, his hand on his heart. What a nightmare! His honey eyes surveyed the area and he blinked. "Um...th-thi-this wa-was-wasn't whe-whe-where I-I-I wa-was..." He was slightly relieved at that but very very confused. "A-am-am I-I-I-I de-dead?" His eyes went to the boy and he blinked yet again. What an adorable little girl! "H-He-hello th-there lit-little gi-girl!"
himatami1313: Dia looked around and giggled. "I'm not a girl silly. I'm Diyaka."

The boy blushed considerably. With his long green hair and bright eyes, many people often thought he was a female. He should have realized the mistake. He pushed up his glasses with his finger and smiled. "I-I-I'm te-ter-terribly so-so-sorry! I-I-Is th-this a ho-hos-pital?"
himatami1313: "No. It's a space ship." the boy said with a nod. "You're here cause someone picked you to be a guardian though we don't know who."

: "Spa-spa-spacesh-ship?" Ailein asked in horror, his stutter getting worse. "I-I-I've be-bee-been abd-abd-abducted? Do-do-don't pr-pro-prob-probe m-me!" He darted under the sheets and tried hide from the little boy.

"What does abduct mean? and what's a probe?"

"A-ab-abduct i-is wh-what yo-you di-did wh-when y-you ki-kid-kidnap-pped m-me!" The boy shook and pulled the sheet closer to his body. "A p-pro-probe is p-p-p-pai-painful!"

"kidnapped? I'm a kid and I take naps. Does that mean I'm kidnapped?" he asked, blinking a few times. This guy was silly. "And ouch I don't like painful stuff!"

Ailein poked his head out of the sheet. A kid? Still very un-trusting he eyed the child. "A-are you-you-your par-paren-nts go-going to e-e-eat m-m-me?"

"Why would Mommy eat you? You're a guardian. That'd be silly. And Dartie doesn't bite no matter how she acts."

"O-oh-oh....Whe-whe-where a-ar-are the-they?" He asked looking around in a paranoid state. Maybe they were trying to trick him and then they'd come in and devour him!

"Mommy is visiting her brother today and Dartie is at work"

“Wo-work? Wh-what so-sort of wo-work?"

"She's an a** a** in. I don't know what that is but she says it involves killing bad guys"

"An a-a-ss-assassin?" The boy went pale and slid onto the floor. "Wha-what's a gu-guard-ain?"

"A guardian means something picked you and killed you so you could bond with a reborn god that you're gonna care for."

"Ki-killed m-m-me? Go-Gods?" The man stared at Dia for a few minutes. "I ...s-s-see..." With that his eyes rolled up into the back of his head and he passed out, landing with a thud.

Dia remembered this from when Sheryl had been on the ship. Walking out of the room he picked up a large cup of water. Returning he dumped the cold substance onto the passed out man's face.

"AHHHHHH~!" The man screamed and scrambled for the door. "Le-let m-m-me o-o-ou-out!"

Dia blinked a few times and poked the man. "You don't wanna go out there! Anna's cleaning today! She'll loop the room!" but it was too late. The man had opened the door and the floor moved under his feet. Instead of revealing a hall before him he saw his own backside staring through a door and Diyaka's back and the bed. He'd.......opened the door to the room he was in again?

".........AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" Faint.

A repeat of the cold water treatment. Not like anyone had bothered to teach Dia any other ways.

Ailein shot up again and still screaming and whimpered. "Ho-how do-do I-I-I g-g-get ou-out?"

"You wait till we get to your designated drop off point and I take you to the transporter room."

"C-can I-I sp-speak to-to an ad-adu-adult? A ma-mal-male a-d-dult?"

"They're not currently available. Steve is helping his brothers move, Chip is at a convention back on Earth, and Sasha's on his honeymoon."

"So-So the-there's no-no o-one?" Poor Ailein looked on the verge of crying with his girly self. He was already sniffling from the pain in his head from fainting so many times.

Dia walked over and hugged the funny guy. "Awwww don't be sad! Babies aren't that bad to deal with"

He patted the boy's head nervously. "Ba-bab-babies?" He asked with a slight whimper. "I-I-I don-don't un-under-stand."

"Okie being a guardian means you got your soul bonded with that of a deity from the world I'm from-for reference my mommy is my guardian, not my real mommy-and at first it's a funny necklace that holds the soul of the deity. Then in 2 days you have a funny dream and it turns into a baby."

"I-I-I... Th-that-that's.... it-it rea-really ha-happ-happens? I-isn't th-that mak-make be-be-believe?"

"No. I'm one of the relic babies and so are my best friends." he said, poking the PDA in his hand to show his file. It showed the relic he'd come from, his current picture, his occupation(Guardian Informer) and who his guardians were (Rouge Remika and Charlene Dartsmoore)

"O-oh...." He nodded in slight understanding then touched the relic around his neck. "So-so I-I ha-have a Go-Go-God?"

"Ya. We can look up what one it is and then I can show you a picture of what they used to look like if you want.":


"Th-the-they? A-As in mo-more the-then on-one?"

"No they as in I don't know what gender it is."

Ailein nodded. "I-I-I-d li-like to kn-know..."

Diyaka poked the PDA till information came up. He recognized the word "Deity" and also the word "Cute". He was learning small works from his mommy. "You've got the deity of cute! Let's look them up"

"De-de-deity of cu-cute?" The man frowned and sank deeper. "A-as if-if I-I-I'm no-not ca-called a gi-girl en-eno-ugh.. plu-plus tha-that's wh-what ki-kil-killed m-me."

Diyaka opened his favorite book and caused it to flip to the page showing the deity of cute. She was small and childlike with humongous ears and a fuzzy body. She had a big squirrel like tail, feet that looked like the back legs of a rabbit with curled toes, huge arms with 3 fingered hands, and enormous adorable eyes.

There was silence then the man let out a small giggle. "Awwwww! Sh-she's s-so ad-ador-adorable! Is-Is tha-that wha-what sh-she'll lo-look li-like?"

"That's what she looked like long ago so maybe. I can show you what I used to look like if you want to see how close resemblances are."

"I'm a reborn deity just like all of the others. They got killed by a bad guy and have to be reborn to save my world from him."

"Th-that's so-so sa-sad..." He frowned and gave the boy a smile. "I'-I-I-I'm su-sure you-you'll do-do fi-fine!"

Dia smiled broadly. "I hope we will."

"Of-of course you-you wi-will..." He looked down at the relic and touched it. "Th-the Go-Godd-ess of -cu-cute... I-I-I ca-can ha-hand-le tha-that!"

"Sure you can!" he said happily. Suddenly the PDA blinked, saying it was time for him to go. Hugging the man quickly the boy led him to the transporter room and sent him home. And with that another guardian had received his task.
