Morning. The sun has not risen and the moon was still visible in the early morn sky, the stars fading as the sky lightens from the upcoming sunlight. Already, two entities were wide awake, laughing, joking, playing, training, running in the darkness. Father and son had awoken in the early morning like every other day, up and ready to run off to the furthest water holes from the center of the Pride Lands, land marked Pride Rock. Run they did, Father laughing as the son pushed himself to pass his father but only able to stay by his side. The father boosting in speed to tease him and push his son to push himself further to catch up. However, today, the son had slowed a bit and came to a halt to catch his breath. The father did the same. The pair waited for a moment and looked up into the sky, talking about the things in their lives, the things they have done, what they have learned. The father looking back on his past and all that he learned away from home. The son looking into his life from the lessons of his Uncles, all of which made him who he was. Without much of a notice, the son darts off toward the water hole, today, located at the border that was closest to the beach where Uncle Trig resided.
"Dad, hurry up, don't you get hold on me or I'll have no one to race anymore!" Zeki teased as he let his muscles bust free of their restraints and ran to his hearts content.
"Don't you grow up too fast or you won't enjoy what you got while it lasts!" Ger called back as he pasts his son with great ease. Ger had ran for much of his life, it has become a key part of his life. Dexterity, stanima, and speed, power, it was all that he was made up of.
"Not fair!" Zeki called, pushing himself to catch up.
Everyday, every morning, they would wake up, run to a water hole, if they reached it before the sun rise, they would practice and play or talk, if it was still time, they would run back home and go back to sleep. The two were very much alike, they did everything similar; laugh, scratch, run, snore, eat, clean, everything. They would even slow down for the other to reach the water hole too.
However... little did they know, they would not be reaching a water hole today.

A shape darker than the darkness around them emerged from the direction of the watering hole, only a single white flash glimmering in the darkness of predawn. A silouhette of a figure emerged from the long grass, a black ghost in the cool morning air. That was of course until a mouth opened in a wide, rather loud roaring yawn.
Even away from the sea the coal black male felt safer, more at home near water, so he had set up 'camp' near the watering hole, letting the sound of the water lapping against the bank sooth him to sleep. Still, it had been a wrestless night for Nahodha'kota and he knew full well he would soon need to return to the sea and it's blissful hush. He stretched out that colossus of a body, the well being of the pridelands, plus the rogue blood of his mother had made 'kota in to a formidable looking beast, though he was far too friendly to truely hurt anyone and his fur was unmarked by any scar or scratch from a fight, his mucles were fit from travel, he was sleek, young and healthy and built to protect.
When the two lions came towards him he sat and tilted his head slightly. "Mornin' lads 'ows tha weather treatin' ye?" He gave a roguish grin then a flash of a fang appearing between those charcoal and white lips. "'Tis gunna be another fine day fer castin' ye sails, tho' I ave ta comment that ye seem ta be up afore tha seagulls lads, are ye in a 'urry?" He chuckled then and watched them, his onyx coloured eyes fixed loosely upon the two in a friendly, carefree manner.

The pair came to a slow pause as they approached the other being, panting to catch their breath not as a sign of disrespect. The male was dark, just as dark as Kinari's ebony mane but he looked quite familiar, but not at the same time. Throughout his broken up relationship with Trina, he had never met her brother that she spoke of from time to time, sometimes he wondered if he would ever meet the guy. But the way she spoke about how he was so protective of her, he sort of didn't want to. Strange.
Zeki was the first to collect his breath as he stepped forward toward the male. With a slight dip of his head and a smile he was the first to speak of the two.
"Hello, sir, name's Ezekiel, however, please call me Zeki."
The father smiled and stepped to his side, sitting behind his son and pulling him close to lick his head softly. The boy was mannered and was not afraid to break the ice. He was noble to an extent, polite to an extent, all his qualities had an extent. He was a good boy and his father was proud of him.
"Name's Ger," thinking back, playing back the words the other spoke, it seemed very strange. The way he spoke seemed broken and foreign to him. He looked down at his son. "Could you understand any of the words coming from him?"
"Dad!" Zeki snapped as he jerked his head up and frowned up at his father. "Don't be judgemental! We have not met the guy more than a moment or so. Give it some time and you'd understand what he said." Ger gave a sheepish chuckle as Zeki turned his attention back to the male. "The day's hardly started but so far it has been fine. It is a nice day, but when the great sun reaches the middle of the sky, we'll know if it's truely fine. As for the last part, no, not really. My Dad and I do this every morning, we just chose to head to the water hole in this direction today, but no rush."
"Well, if we don't get back in time, we won't have time to get any sleep." Ger spoke.
"Well, then I guess we don't sleep. Mom always got made at us when we are sleeping and she is awake, y'know?"
"Sure it's not because of the snoring?" Ger chuckle, patting his head softly.
