Kiefer wondered vaugly where all his friends were. He liked the fillys better then the colts, as of yet. Well, he had only met one colt, and he wasn't nice, but all the fillys he had met were nice. But he wasn't sure, he learned that it was bad to judge a whole group by just one. After all, he was a colt, and he wasn't mean, right?
Lately, Kiefer had been thinkin alot about his papa. Papa said a lot of stuff, and he belive him. But sometimes papa said stuff he didn't belive, like when he told them that friends were bad. He liked having friends quite a bit.... so papa must be wrong, right?
God, this was all so confusing. Family was supost to be something you could rely on, but once you start questioning things, and relize that they arn't all perfect, things start to get to you. And suddening you have to not just realy on what they say and think of ideas on your own. It was tough bussiness!

Light purple eyes peered out from behind a bush. The owner of such pretty eyes had been hiding in there for quite some time now, hiding from her Daddy. The whole situation replayed in her mind for the last time.
"Daddy?" "What? Oh, me. Yes?" "Can I go 'side?" "Why should I care? Go ahead." "Weww...okay. But Mommy said..." "Oh...yea. That's right. Hmm...well just as long as you don't go far, little one." "Reawwy?" "Yup. I don't want your Mommy getting mad at me for letting you escape. Plus you were just hatched." "Okay!" "Vanilla?" "Yes?" "I want to keep my eyes on you still, sweetie. So stay in this area, you here?" "Yes Daddy."
That's how it went. Her Daddy didn't seem to even realize that she was his daughter. It took Mommy a few times to tell him so, but Vanilla Swirl knew. There was a connection between them, a father/daughter connection. She would be able to spot him coming from a mile away.
Right now, she could see him standing not too far off, staring into the distance making sure she was alright. But Bliss couldn't find her, she was hidden to well in a bush. Silly Daddy, she thought.
Vanilla Swirl wasn't expecting anyone to come her way today, she was only playing a game with her Daddy. She didn't even know that others lived anywhere near here, or that others exsisted. Her family was the only one, right?

Kiefer wondered if anyone was around. Maybe they could play. He hadn't met anyone who was his age and nice to him and quite a while. In act, the last foal he had run across was quite mean, and the secound wasn't even a foal at all, but a stallion.
But would anyone be around? He wasn't really near his home, as he grew, he found his parents let him wanter more and more. Well, they didn't really let him so much as he just did. Asking permission was a bit tedious, so just leaving was easier most of the time.
"Anyone around?" he called. This normally worked. There was a chance that the only one to respond was a big mean Kalona or something of that sort, but he didn't really care. He figured if he met one then he could just out talk it like his papa had.
He sat down in the soft grass, waiting for someone to say something, surely there must be one around. With all the soquili foals that his mama and papa told him about, he was bound to run into more and more. He wanted to meet someone new, as well. Someone different from what he was used to, because that would be much more interesting then just meeting a clone of a foal he had already met.

The small voice came out of no where. It didn't surprise Vanilla Swirl, it only confused her. Where did it come from and who did it belong to? The voice was just a tad too high to be her Daddy's, and it wasn't her own, because her voice was soft and caring like her Mommy's.
So when the little white filly pondered what the voice said, she didn't know if she should answer. Was anyone around? Well, no one except herself and her Daddy. So really, no. There wasn't anyone around. Except the voice, apparently too. Right?
"Nope." Vanilla Swirl said very quietly. Almost a whisper. Still, there was no owner to the voice so she still had no idea who she was talking to. It was until she peered through the bush did she see a golden colt. Actually, to her it looked funny. He was bigger then her older brother, but a different color. How could that happen? So it wasn't him, that was for sure.
She didn't do anything further then say the one word. He looked funny, different then anything she'd ever seen. So that was probably a bad thing. What if he was in trouble, or if he was hurt? Well, Vanilla decided to wait it out and see.

Kiefer's ears twitched. Did he hear someone say...nope? That made no sense at all. He had just barely heard it...maybe he was just hearing things, like the wind. Thats what they always said when the didn't know what a sound was 'it was just the wind'.
"Hello? Who's there?" he asked again, feeling stupid for trying to confirm that he had just heard the wind. Then again, maybe a particularly dull soquili had heard him and thought that they didn't count. But what were the odds of that?
He remembered Papa telling him about a very stupid soquili. What was his name...B something. He couldn't remember. But papa certainly didn't like stupid ones, so he always tried to act his smartest at come so papa liked him.
Then again, papa would probubly like him even if he was stupid. Right?

The voice came again, this time the little foolish filly knew that it had to come from him. There was no one else in sight. Turning her little head backwards, she tried to catch a glimpse of her Daddy, but nothing was there. Where the heck could he be? Blinking, Vanilla Swirl turned her attention back to the golden colt.
Well, he had asked who was there. And as far as she knew, no one was around except herself now. "Umm...." She began rather quietly. "Umm...none 'cept me." Her own small voice came out of the bush, but her body was still hidden.
Yea, that sounded about right. The multi-colored filly was unsure about what to do at that very moment. Nothing came to mind. But she had to do something, she just had to. But what? Bright purple eyes stared off into the distance behind her once last time before she realized what her little legs were doing.
Vanilla jumped out of the bush and directly on to Kiefer. "Oooh, sorry." She mumbled, tumbling off him.

Ah, finally a responce. Someone was there. It was a small, timid, feminin voice. He responded."Hmm? Well I 'spose you count then? Who is i-" he was cut mid sentence, however, when primarily white filly jumped right on top of him.
"Hey!" he said, struggling to get up. "What was THAT for?" he asked, finally able to push her off him and get to his feet. On closer examination, he saw that she consisted of many colors. She had brown legs, the tip of her muzzle was brown, and spots on her legs, rump, and face. Her mane and tail were white with dark spots, a blue stripe on the tail, and some blue and pink tips to her mane. A very interesting filly indeed.
But WHY in the world was she being so difficult? First barely responding to his simple question, and giving a very dim-witted responce. Then she just out of the blue POUNCES him? What was WRONG with her?

Purple eyes stared at the one she had just tackled. He was funny colored for sure, something that her Daddy would probably never like. He wasn't a fan of black, or brown. But that golden color was almost perfect. Vanilla Swirl was about to call out for Bliss, but rather just spit out words at the colt.
"For you." A light giggle could be heard coming from her. It didn't make any sense, what she said but it was still funny. "Duh." The colorful filly nodded slowly, staring at him in the exact way he was doing to her.
He didn't look like Daddy, nor Mommy. And he wasn't brother Soqui. Wait, was he? She tilted her head at him and shook it. No way was he Soqui. He couldn't be. His eyes were green. That ugly color that Daddy hated too. Nope, Soqui's eyes were purple just like hers.
"Who ARE you?" The small voice came out again, and she frowned. She didn't know and she wanted to know. What if he wanted to eat her? "Do you wanna EAT me?"

Kiefer blinked. What a bizzare soquili! "Well...why did you jump on me then?" he asked, trying to keep his questions direct and obvious, since she didn't seem to have the ability to comprehend questions that were not straight forward.
She was certainly looking at him funny, too. Kiefer had never met such a frustrating soquili before, usually they could at least understand what he wanted.
"I'm Kiefer. What is your name?" he asked. Certainly she couldn't mess taht up, could she? "And no, I don't want to eat you. That would be weird. I am a soquili like you, and in general we don't eat eachother. Unless we are one of the evil ones"
He hoped that wasn't too much for her head. His father told him all about the stupid ones, and how annoying they were. Yes...this girl was very annoying. But he didn't really have the 'hate' his father did. He wanted to make her understand. Nevertheless, it was quite frustrating.

"Why did I what...?" The tiny filly stared at the much older looking colt for a moment, just stared. Jump on him? When did she ever do that? "I no jump, sir." Vanilla Swirl said with a rather long pause in between. "I tackle. On accident!" Her words came out all rubbish and she hardly knew what even herself was talking about, let alone what this golden guy was saying.
"Keyfor?" The young colorful filly responded, hinting a tad of confusion in her voice. "Silly name!" 'Nilla giggled, but tore it away from her mind to concentrate on saying her own. That's what he wanted anyways, right? Daddy always said to say your name first, but it appeared as though Kiefer did. "Vanilla..." The filly paused again, "Swirl!"
Purple eyes blinked at the one she knew now as Kiefer. What was he talking about what was he-"Oh my! You're evil! Daddy, Daddy! Keyfor's evil! Keyfor's gunna eat-" Her voice was quickly cut off by her one thoughts. Her Daddy wasn't around here, she already noticed that before.
And besides, even if he was...the calls she gave out wouldn't register in his brain that it was his daughter.
So Vanilla was stuck.

Oh man...now he was starting to get annoyed. "Well, how could you tackle me by accident? You saw me, right?" he could barely comprehend what the stupid filly was trying to get out, and he suspected she was having much more trouble with what he was saying.
"Yes...Kiefer, and you are Vanilla Swirl? My name is an accual name, your's is just weird" he said, a bit offended that she said his name was silly. He had never thought much about it, but it seemed like everyone had their opinion. This one thought it was silly, another had thought that it should have some sort of meaning. Well, he liked it. That is all that mattered, right?
"no..No!" he said, not wanting her father to come. Certainly he couldn't be the sharpest nail in the shed, but he knew that angry stallions could do some serious damage, and if he was anything like Kiefer's father, fathers would do anything for their children.
"I'm not evil. I am just saying some are evil. I am good. So NO, I WILL NOT EAT YOU!" he said, making his words loud and well-formed, hoping that perhaps she would understand more.
Yea right.

The little filly blinked. His question was odd. Of course she saw him, if she didn't then that would just be silly. Who tackles someone on accident by not seeing them? "I did. Saw you, and tackled you!" Vanilla Swirl looked at him with a funy expression on her face. The first ever soquili she met besides Soqui, Daddy and Momma, and it wasn't turning out so great. Or was it?
She grinned. It probably was. Yea, it definitely was. "Yup! That's what's said! Not wierd name, no. Good name. When it be 'Nilla. Daddy calls me 'Nilla..." A proud, perfect little nodd came from the foolish filly and she looked Kiefer up and down.
He had freaked out about Daddy coming? Why? Daddy never hurt a fly, was this silly guy afraid of Daddy? That's silly. She giggled. She had only wanted to hide behind him, to make sure that she was going to be safe.
Although, anyone in their right mind would know being with Bliss was probably the most unsafe place.
"But if you good, then why eat me?" Vanilla Swirl finally said, after her soft purple eyes were done staring at him. Tearing them away, she rather looked at her own hooves. They were a different color then Kiefer's. Which made her angry.
So she picked up one of hers and stomped it hard on the colt's. That would teach him.

He decided it was best to drop the tackling subject, there was clearly no getting through to this filly. Maybe something was wrong with her...or maybe she was just hopelessly stupid.
"'Nilla? Erm...Ok" he said, no really caring about what her father called her. A thought suddenly occured to him. "What is your daddy's name, anyway?" he wondered if this could possibly be a decendent of the ignorent stallion that his father didn't like.
"I'm not gunna to eat you, and I am good. What is so difficult about that concept?" Must he explain everything? Why couldn't she just get it like others did? He watched her eyes tear away from him, which made him happy, the way she had stared vacantly at him was weirding him out a bit. She was now looking at her own hooves...then suddenly...
"OWW! THAT...HURT!" he screamed, now genuinly angry. He swore a few times, he had heard his parents swear when they thought he wasn't listening. "YOU LITTLE..." he felt the rage bubble up, and soon, before he knew what he was doing, he had kicked her in the leg, hard.
Bad move. And he knew it the secound he did it. He wasn't a mean colt...but he just had very little control over himself. He knew he shouldn't hurt other foals, particularly the fillys. As soon as he had kicked, he felt himself feel horrible.
"Sorry...sorry.....SORRY!" he said, backing away, horribly upset with himself for what he had just done.

((I was gunna be like, "Okay! Let's bring in the Daddy's now! And then I was like, "Wait...I own both Daddy's. Never mind." xD))
Her Daddy's name? What kind of question was that? Haha, silly Keyfor. Vanilla Swirl shook her head as though she looked at him of something of an idiot.
"Daddy of course!" The foolish filly giggled again, what a strange question indeed.
She did her best to understand what this golden colt was trying to tell her. "Not hard, just silly!" A small nodd came from her and she continued, "Keyfor no eat 'Nilla, good? Yes?"
The little filly wasn't expecting, to say the least, what came next. It appeared as though he had just gotten mad at her! Why?!? What did she ever do to deserve him yelling? Staring down at the hooves, Vanilla Swirl heard words she never even knew before. Neither Milkshake nor Bliss said anything bad, let alone around their children.
"Why are you-!?!" The small voice that she carried with her was quickly cut off by the pain running through her leg. What had just happened? Did HE do that? What? Why? Before she knew it, 'Nilla was down on the ground, bawling her eyes out.
"Owwwwwwwwwwww!" She wailed, not even knowing how the pain had come. But one thing he did know, that was the most painful thing ever. "My legggggggggggggg!"
Her voice could be heard echoing through the tiny forest they were in, if one was quiet. Most of her voice was drowned out by the wailing and crying that came from her, because boy was that painful.
Little purple, tear filled eyes glanced up at Kiefer. What did he DO to her?

((ahaha. XDD Well maybe you could bring in Bairn and have him figure it out. ))
Oh man, this was bad. Badbadbadbad...and oh yea. BAD! Kiefer just stood there. He had once gotten in a fight with another colt, and plenty of times he had seen other foals fall, get hurt, or get a bad cut. None of them had ever reacted like this. Sure, they might whine, or show discomfort, maybe even cry. But...wail and scream?
The worst part was, this was his fault. He should have known better. Should he even tell her that he had done this...or just lie? Surely she would belive anything he told her. That would be easier, he wouldn't get in trouble if a grown-up came.
"Nilla...a...a.." the gears in his mind turned as he tried to think up a story. "A branch! You missed it! It was really low, and the wind blew...and it snapped, and hit your leg" he looked around. "It was that one!" he said, looking at a stick a few feet away. He nudged it torwards her carfully with one leg to make it seem more belivable.
"Maybe we should....go to the river, and put it in cold water? It will make it hurt less, kay? I promise" he said, hoping that the water did work, and that he hadn't seriously injured her. He was just a colt, after all. He couldn't do too much damage...could he?
He regreted always saying he was strong, he was tough, he was an adult, cause what he had done was not adult at all, it was stupid, and he couldn't control his anger. Had he been an adult stallion, he could have seriously injured her.
