n_n YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY

I GET TO PERFORM

I GET TO PERFORM

I GET TO PERFORM

:'D!!

...

So, yeah, on Thursday, my school is having a coffeehouse thing... I'm playing and singing You've Got Her In Your Pocket by the White Stripes. Oh, and I'm playing with my Chamber Strings group.

I'M SO EXCITED! I'm a total being-onstage junkie. xB A few months ago, I performed (... preformed?) Over The Moon from RENT with a couple of friends as back-up. It was awesome. Apparently, one of my other friends got like, footage, so I want to see that.

...

Yeah, I just wanted to ramble excitedly to all of you because I love you and that means that you're obligated to listen to my good news. xD It's like... awesome to me... so much. I mean, I play for my class every Friday in the campfire circle thing (We have a fake fire. It is in a cauldron. I think it's a Macbeth prop.), but this is my first... actual... performance thing... with the guitar. And singing. And stuff. Alone.

...

HOMG I'M SOOO EXCITED~~

(Everyone: *Now finds Satah silly* (:!)

Uh, uh, uh, so yeah, anything you're looking forward to~? n___n Do you feel like taking a plane to Ontario to come see me play at my school? xDD If the coffeehouse gets recorded (... it will, without a doubt... my school is such a videocamera techy school... it's awesome. I am so at home there.), do you want to see or would you rather shove crushed glass into your ears? <3

(I can hardly believe how many topics I make here o___o)

More than you know, wink wink. ;D

I play piano, viola, guitar and percussion-like things. I'm taking a guitar class and I'm in Chamber Strings and Concert Band n_n

xD Okay. I'll try and snag a copy of my Over The Moon performance for anyone who wants to see it. I don't know how it sounds or looks, though, as I haven't even been given the priveledge of viewing the footage... >_>

VIOLA FTW. *fist-bump*

I play cello, but I haven't actually performed anything or played with anyone in a while. My schedule this semester wouldn't let me play with the college orchestra across town, and I didn't want to take lessons, so I packed up my cello and sent it back with my parents when they brought my sister over to look at colleges and stayed in my town for a couple days.

*Stares in shock at the viola being described as ftw by anyone but a violist*

*CLINGS TO DESPERATELY* NO-ONE ELSE LOVES ME!! CONDUCTORS DON'T WRITE US GOOD PARTS! EVERYONE THINKS I PLAY VIOLIN OR (and I quote-- I've had people ask to play my...) "MINI-GUITAR!" GOLDRING CALLED THE VIOLA THE FAT AND FORGOTTEN OLDER SISTER OF THE VIOLIN! NO-ONE EXCEPT US UNDERSTANDS OUR CLEF! THERE ARE INFINITE AMOUNTS OF JOKES WRITTEN ABOUT US! AND OH IT HURTS.

*Breathes heavily*

Okay, I'm done... for now...

The cello is awesome. <3 I wanted to play cello, actually, but it couldn't fit on my bus, so I went with viola. Same strings, more portability, less love.

A -lot- less love.

*Is NOT bitter*

People hold the door open for me. 4laugh *cackle*

I can sight-read bass, treble, and tenor clefs; I can read alto clef if I only need to read it for music theory class or something. V__V Can't actually play from it.

One of my orchestra-mates in middle school, the first violist, was one of the best musicians in the class. She could play anyone else's part (transposed, of course), sometimes better than they could.

People in my school don't get out of the way when I'm carrying my guitar, but they do when I'm carrying my viola. I guess that the viola is very "Hey, she can smack me in the head with that!" looking... while the guitar is like "... How is she -lifting- that?" xD

I can read all the clefs >3< I'm not great at playing my viola from the bass, but I can do them all on guitar and piano.

xD Nice. I just have this hatred of using my fourth finger that halts my progress significantly. >>; I avoid it as much as possible. My teacher hates that. P:

Cello fingering is crazy because we have to use all our fingers, even the thumb; the finger board is looooong. For some of the more advanced once, we have to put our thumb on one of the harmonic points (the exact middle of the playable string) and use that as an anchor for the other fingers; it's confusing to have to use the thumb as anything other than "stuck behind the neck." xD Yeaah. One of my friends is a cellist and she came back from one of her lessons all like "wtfwtf?!" so I asked her what was up and her teacher had been demonstrating all these crazy techniques for her. :B

Do you know Apocolyptica? They cover Metallica songs with four cellos. They're cool. They were like, our orchestra's patron saints in grade seven and eight. All of our cellists were hardxkore guys, too, so it worked out well. xD

Edit: I'm exhaustamafied. I'm going to go to bed soon. xP So, 'night~~ <3

Yes, I know of Apocalyptica; they've gotten airtime (bandwidthtime?) on the interwebs radio I listen to. I've heard all sorts of music on there. Everything.

Goodnight; don't let the monsters eat you!

xD I first heard of them when Julien wrote them on the... thingy thing that cellists put on the floor and then put their endpins in so the instrument doesn't go sliding around all willy-nilly like. o3o

Oooh, interwebs radio! 8D

One tried, but my teddy bear kicked his a**. C: <3

congrats Satah! enjoy being up on stage! you have far more bravery than I could ever have.

Seeing these kind of conversations makes me wish I'd continued with the flute and become just liek you two with the whole music thing. I still remember quite a lot, enough to read music fluently and understand everything you said, which is ok considering I stopped about 8 years ago. D:

And my cousin's learning cello! She wants to learn the biggest one, but obviously is too small at the moment.

Hase she considered getting a 3/4 size one? Good music shops will let you buy a 3/4 and trade it in later for a full-sze; that's what I did with mine.

My first cello was a godawful-ugly shade of brown. XD

n_n Thanks. I love being on stage~ xD

I'm so glad I continued playing viola after grade eight. @_@ I've been playing for... almost four years now, I guess. :3 I've been playing piano for a long time, but only officially (with lessons and junk) for four... and guitar, I only started seriously in February.

In grade seven, in my program, we had to choose an instrument to play. My dad was like, "Play flute!" and I was like, "Dad... everyone plays flute." I love the flute, but there are always so many in the band xB I was thinking of taking up oboe, but then strings caught my eye and I was sold. (8
