He slowly poked his nose out from deep in the treetops. The rain had finally stopped and the smell of blooming flowers was calling to his hungry stomach. Large orange wings fluttered quickly and carried him from the high branches down to the ground where the wild flowers grew.

Spring was his favorite time of year. He really hated the cold weather. Things were finally starting to heat up enough for him to wander around more. He flashed his wings to himself, gloating in how they looked before sipping at a few flowers. Today would be a good day.

The palomino chocolate mare stared into the forest that was blooming with spring vegetation. She had been so tired lately, but the blooms had made her feel happy.

Glancing about, her curly, long tail grazed her rump, as it shook the flies that dare lay across her body.
Her dark hooves stomped on the ground, shaking the green grass, that was covered with orange and red flowers, that reminded her of Poppies.

Or perhaps not! The ground began to shake beneath his hooves and he glanced around with wild eyes, unsure of what this was. Not enjoying the feeling one bit, he took flight off the ground and hovered over the orange and red flowers that were close by. Strange lands indeed.
