Roleplaying in Roleplayer's Domain
If you're here, you might already know some of the general rules and etiquette for roleplaying in a forum setting; however, we have a few special guidelines (and definitions to 'em). If you've never roleplayed (in a forum, or otherwise), all of the basics are included here as well. An example of a roleplay session is also shown in this thread.

The Basics
Roleplaying is, essentially, putting yourself into the role of a character in a story that you're participating in. The concept may sound a little confusing at first, but hopefully we'll be able to clear up anything by the end of this thread.
For those of you who don't know, godmoding is when you injure or kill another character without the other persons consent. It also includes making your character "invincible" (This tends to annoy other roleplayers so please refrain)
The storyline is made by the thread creator. The storyline is basically a beginning and an outline to a roleplay (this must be followed unless otherwise stated in the creator's original post). The thread creator also states in the original post's name or title whether the RP (roleplay) session is "Open", "Closed", "Ended", or "Under Construction". "Open" means that the thread is open to any characters mentioned by the creator. "Closed" means that the thread is intended only for certain characters to participate in; or is a personal storyline only from the original character, intended for others to read, but not add to (think somewhat like a fanfic). It also means that an "open" RP has acquired all needed characters. "Ended" means just that... the thread's done, locked, finished, and that particular RP session has ended.
