Well you can do favorite composer/lyricist like Styne or Sondheim or you can do composing lyricist teams like Kander & Ebb or George and Ira Gershwin. So who are your favorites and why?

*shakes head* Uh uh. I could not possibly choose. They're all...too good. No, you can't ask me to choose. I won't do it. XD

Plain and simple:

Stephen Schwartz.

His musicals have such a meaning in what he does. "Children of Eden" looks at different relationship situations and how to handle them. "Wicked" looks at how you should just be yourself.

Well he's not really responsible for that aspect. He didn't write the story. He only wrote the music and lyrics. You have to remember to separate those.

But without those songs, the stories would basically have no point.

Especially Children. That's a rock opera. So, if there was no music, there would be no play.

Yeah. I just meant for Wicked. I love Pippin but Fosse rewrote the entire script and took the songs and put them in different areas. With You was originally supposed to be the love song in Pippin but instead Fosse turned it into an orgy scene.

Cole Porter, "lets Misbehave!"

Stephen Schwartz- Because the man gave me (and the world) "Defying Gravity," "As Long As You're Mine," "For Good," and all the other songs of Wicked (All but the Wizard's songs and "Something Bad," but I CAN forgive him!) My voice teacher is trying to introduce me to some of his other works, but no matter what he will always be the man that gave me the songs of Wicked to me.

Jason Robert Brown- Words can't describe how much I love this man's work! "The Last 5 Years" and "Songs for a New World" just speak for themselves! Go listen for yourselves.

Stephan Schwartz: Wicked did have to grow on me but now I love it. heart
Andrew Lloyd Webber: Evita, Les Miserables, Cats, and most of all, The Phantom of the Opera...there are no words for how his music lifts me up when I'm depressed.

Schwartz has decent songs. You might enjoy the song Stranger to the Rain from Children of Eden. I'm sure if you like Defying Gravity you'll like Stranger to the Rain.

That's actually one of the songs my teacher is trying to teach me. We don't go over it often though.

ALW love his work except for cats...... granted its a good show but... it did not deserve to be one of the longest running shows on Broadway ( is it still the longenst running? i have no clue) beacuse as far as i'm concerned it has no plot.. ok a little and it is a good show but i don't think it is really work all of the hype and praise people give it.

but all the other works fantasitic ^.^! one of my top ten deffentaly!
