Who: Liliana & Endless. Possibly Seer & some other's of either family What: It's been a while Where: Starting at Kitsu HQ; might go to Rem's Library or somewhere else. When: Not long after Seer & Lily's sibs have hatched, late morning after one of Lili's potions lessons. Why: Friends need to hang out
Her head was still slightly bent from having been looking into her cauldron all morning. Liliana carefully put away her class things and cleaned up, ignoring the rumbling feel in her belly until she nodded farewell to her professor and stepped out of the classroom. Her white & golden tails flicked in the doorway a moment as she pondered her options. Go home for a meal, or find something to eat in the kitchen here at headquarters. Really neither had a huge advantage over the other, but for some reason it struck the crimson furred female that she did not wish to return home just yet. There was no real reason for it, except perhaps some peace and quiet without the temptation to start directly on her homework for the next lesson.
Folding her gold tipped brown wings against her back Liliana padded softly towards the kitchen.

Endless was already in the kitchen, and he'd just finished making a couple of sandwiches. He didn't put mustard or anything on them, because he wasn't sure what/if Lili liked anything of that nature on her sandwiches, when she had sandwiches. His trip to her home had given him the impression that her family didn't usually have to resort to eating sandwiches... He figured the lettuce and tomato would be ok with turkey bologna though.
He'd decided to come pay her a visit today, since he knew she'd have that potion class, and he was pretty sure she was supposed to get out soon. The starry pelted male was still pondering on how to get both plates to the classroom, or if he should put all the sandwiches on one plate, when Lili came in. He blinked his softly glowing eyes in startlement, secretly pleased that his brief quandary was taken care of, and openly pleased to see his friend.
"Hi Lili... er... I was gonna surprise you when you got out of class. Guess I didn't move fast enough." He grinned in that lopsided way he always did. "Uh, I hope you don't mind sandwiches."

"Endless!" Her tails wagged happily, pulling out of her very minor funk into an almost chipper mood at seeing her friend. She padded toward him with more spring in her step than before. "It's a wonderful surprise. Thank you. How'd you know I'd be hungry?"
She liked his lopsided grin. It was very Endless to her. It was probably better he had not come to the class with the sandwiches, who knew what would set Severus off. Crossing the distance between them Liliana gave the starry-sky male a simple kitsu hug and a smile. "I've missed you."

Endless always felt better when Lili was around. So much so in fact that he was almost afraid to examine his feelings and see if Ifrit and Valefor's teasing really had any merit. But that wasn't important right now.
"Hmm, well, the class seems to take a while, and it's just sort of brunch/lunch time anyway..." He shrugged, indicating that it just seemed logical that Lili might be hungry after her class was over.
He wagged his tails slightly at the hug and returned it before nudging one of the plates her way. Lili and Atae and Soot were just about the only people he would accept hugs from... and Lili was really the only one he tended to so with any amount of enthusiasm. Oh, sure, he might let Raensu hug him, but Raensu wasn't really the huggy type either. "How was class today, anyway?"

She accepted the plate & its sandwich with another smile, laying down to sniff at it before answering, and answering before taking a bite. She decided not to say anything about how she did not always eat lunch, choosing to save that little token of fate for herself for now. Liliana was simply grateful... and now she did not have to eat entirely alone either. Like a bonus. "Pretty well. Professor Snape is tough, but that's part of what makes him good. And we're in complex potions so in the end, I'm glad he's so hard on me. It would be terribel if I made a mistake from carelessness or poor ingredients. He's constantly drilling me on the basics and showing me where it's safe to experiment and where & when it's not. Which is good. With the kind of potions we're working with... well lets just say I have a whole new appretiation for the fundamentals now."
She bit into the sandwich and closed her eyes, chewing happily. "oh... tomato..." Liliana said with a smile after swallowing. "And a perfectly ripe one too. Thanks, Endless. It taste's wonderful."

Endless smiled softly. "Glad you like it... I always liked sandwiches, you can put a whole balanced meal in one easy to carry package and they don't take long to make." Of course he'd been on the go a lot when he was younger. This was really the first time he'd settled in one spot for more than a couple of months. It was nice to have... somewhere.
He took a few bites of his sandwich, chewing thoughtfully before swallowing the most recent. "I've been wondering... about what he said before, about not needing magic to make potions. Is that true?"

She grinned at Endless' description of sandwiches, remembering the night Relm Audio's friend Kaleb had visited their library. Liliana had helped the artist turn a usually non-sandwich meal into sandwiches. It had been fun & different.
Like these tomatoes. There were not often tomatoes in their home, for Trelweny did not like them. She could pick out a fresh one, but seldom liked them around because even the smell got to her. Liliana however loved tomatoes, so this was a special treat for her.
Her friend's question caught her off guard. "That's right... he did say that, didn't he?" Liliana chewed thoughtfully, pondering the issue. "If Professor Snape said it than it must be true. I don't know any cases of it, but I suppose a squib could still learn potions. In Daddy's before Muggles would not have even been given a chance, and squibs not much better because most lessons were taught in schools..."
"But yes... I suppose that's true. Why?"

Endless was pretty sure he'd heard the term Muggle somewhere before... he just wasn't sure where. He was under the impression that it meant someone like him, who didn't have magic, but... "Er... what's a squib? I haven't heard that one..."
As for her question about why... "Well, to be honest... I was wondering if I could learn anything about it? I mean... maybe I shouldn't look past simple stuff, but for all that I don't really like cooking meals I'm interested in things like that." Not that he couldn't cook. He was best at simple things, but he'd had to feed himself often enough before he'd learned the basics just to avoid eating boring raw meals all the time. Not that it had anything to do with the topic of conversation... "I dunno, I just got curious, and you really seem to like working with them."
He took another bite of his sandwich and after he'd swallowed added in a playful tone, "Maybe I can learn to make something that will help me on nights when I can't sleep and seem to think it's a smart thing to do to go out in the middle of a bad snowstorm and make snow sculptures." He even stuck his tongue out a little bit in jest. Not that he regretted at all the night in particular he was referring to, since that was when he met Lili. "Though every once in a blue moon it is a good idea..."

That Endless would want to learn Potions flabbergasted the witch for a good amount of time. So long, that she nearly missed his that he was next teasing about the way they met and stared at him a mment in utter perplexity. Then he stuck his tongue out at her and Lily realized he was joking, smiling & butting her shoulder playfully to his with a soft light in her green eyes. "Oh, I don't know. I mean... can you possibly think of a good thing coming out of something as foolish as that?" Liliana teased back, completely unaccustiomed to such a practice and yet finding herself doing so any way.
Remembering his questions, Liliana looked sheepish. "Sorry. I forget sometimes that not everyone knows the terms my family's so used to. A squib is someone of wizarding parents that can't do magic. A muggle is non-wizarding folk." She shrugged lightly. "It's not much here I guess, but in Daddy's before wizarding folk didn't mingle with non-wizarding folk so in their communities it was a bigger deal."
She chewed a small bite thoughtfully. "So you'd really like to see if you can do Potions?" Gold tipped ears flicked as she pondered the possiblity. "I suppose it wouldn't do much harm to try..."
If Severus had not been the one to say it Liliana would never have conceived of the possibility but now that she thought about it... it made sense. She used no magic in the making of potions -except sometimes to set a spoon to stirring, but that was never directed at the potion itself. Her professor's words on that matter the day after she had met Endless had little impact on her at the time -for she had been more concerned with reenstating herself as a diligent student. Has Endless been thinking of this since it was said?

Endless was silent for a moment, trying to properly articulate his feelings on the matter. "I want to... understand them, whether or not I do very well at learning how to make them. There are practical reasons to at least know what's out there beyond idle curiosity." He paused again and smiled a bit. "Though I guess I want to know more about it as much because it's so important to you as anything..."
He finished his sandwich before speaking again. "And ever since he said that I've just... needed to know if I could do it. You ever feel that way?"
"And... I can see how being a squib would be a big deal, in that situation. I'd feel bad for someone stuck in a situation like that. It would probably feel... kinda like diving into the deep end of pool only to find out after the fact that you can't swim. Or something..."

Lily slowly nibbled at her sandwich, letting her friend have his silence. Perhaps it was odd, but it felt comfortable to her. She nodden when his explanation came, but then quirked her head with confusion in her green eyes at the why. Why would it matter if it was important to her?
His next question stumped her so that she had to think about it long into when Endless was telling what he thought a squib must feel like. "Maybe. I've never met a squib." Her new siblings were much to young to know where their talants lay, so she presumed they all could use magic as the first of them could. "I don't know if there has ever been something like that for me. Something I've needed to know if I could do it." Her ears flicked, thinking of finding Edward hurt and wishing she could heal him like her mother could. Her voice softened and lowered, became sad. "Though recently... recently I've wished I could heal..."

Endless hated to see Lili sad. He knew very well what she was thinking about. He scooted over and put his head over her neck in an effort to comfort her with a hug. "Well, I'm sure there are potions for that, if you stick to it. There are probably potions that could help Edward in other ways too... maybe a way to help fend off that bloodthirsty weirdo so nothing like that will happen again."
He broke off for a moment and then nuzzled her cheek. "Besides... you may not be able to heal physical wounds magically, but there are less obvious wounds you help with and don't even realize it..." His voice was tinged with something by the time he finished the statement, something that might well have been amazement. He curled his tails self-consciously around the side of his rump that was facing away from Lili. He'd never been this comfortable with anyone else. He wasn't sure why but he finally felt like he could be... him, without having to worry about the repurcussions. He still stood behind his stoic wall, sure, but that was a habit hard learned and long used, and even that faded to a degree when it was just the two of them talking.
He just wasn't ready to delve further into those feelings yet. "So what sort of potions have you learned about?" Better to change the subject while he was still feeling emotionally stable enough to trust himself. He was going to need some time to figure this out... whatever it was. Because it was definitely something, whether it was precisely what the Aeons had been teasing him about or not.
It was just... strange to him to realize so suddenly that Lili really did mean the world to him.

Liliana purred softly, automatically shifting into the comfort of her friend's body as she felt his 'hug'. There was a slight rustle as the very tips of her wings fluttered. Her eyes closed as after a while Endless nuzzled her cheek, a gesture she turned her head into. Tails like her mother's wings flicked gratefully behind her. She was not quite ready to admit to herself much less someone else -no matter how dear a friend- how she was feeling more than a bit guilty for not having taken the time before now to get to know her mother. To let Nari teach her or even find out if she had nay of her mother's healing abilities. Liliana was only just now realising that she might have made a mistake and it was not easy.
But Endless' comment that she might have helped with "less obvious wounds" without knowing she had done so made her curious. Lily had little time to ask about that before she was automatically answering his question. "In general, or since I started taking lessons from Professor Snape? I've learned about quite a few more still than I've had the oportunity to produce myself. Since stopping with Daddy's lessons I started on those that would be taught in 6th year and gone on. There's really too many to name, but I could get a book or too if you want."
Her tails swept lightly across the floor, the female quite comfortable to be discussing her area of expertise. Of course she was quite adept at most manners of wizarding, she simply had a certain knack for potions. It almost seemed to expand once Severus had opened her eyes to looking outside the written directions in her books to put the practical little things learned elsewhere into her potions for better results. That knowledge took the guesswork out of experimenting. There was certainly something to be said for knowing all those properties of things that Severus was adamant she know.
But at the back of her mind the sound of amazement in Endless' voice as he spoke of less obvious wounds tickled gently like a down feather upon the breeze, blowing in and out of her consciousness. What had her friend meant?

"Books seem like a good place to start. Some beginner's books, I guess. Logical place to start, anyway." He smiled softly. "Atae might enjoy looking at them too..." His smile turned to a slight frown. "Or, she might have before... She's been acting a little strangely lately, almost... scittish. Worried maybe. She doesn't seem inclined to talk to me about it, and she usually talks to me about everything that bothers her. Only thing I can think of is that it's some sort of feminine issue..." He trailed off with a sigh. "I suppose it's to be expected now that she's grown, even if she is still a bit young. Maybe I just miss her being little or something..."
He shook his head and hugged Lily again. "There I go rambling..." He sighed again, but this one sounded a lot less dejected, even almost happy. "I'm glad I met you, Lily. It's good to have a friend I can talk to."
He sat up after a moment and nosed at her plate. "So... why don't you finish up your sandwich and we can catch up on things since the last time we had a chance to sit and chat?"

"I don't mind your rambling." Liliana said, closing her eyes and leaning into the hug. If fact she rather liked it, and for some reason that shocked her. She sighed happily though, having him as her friend. "As am I. As am I..."
Looking at the last bit of her sandwich the rather small female wondered if she was hungry enough to finish it. But... tomato. And Endless made it for me... "I could bring you the first year potions book next time I see you." Lily reflected, finishing off her sandwich. Sitting somewhere more comfortable to chat without having to remember to eat sounded wonderful. Taking her plate to the sink Lily put her front paws up over the counter edge and ran the water into a bowl and drank deeply. Wiping her maw delicately with the black inside of her paw she gve her friend a sheepish look and hopped back down, giving Endless a brief nuzzle before heading to the door in hopes of finding a comfortable spot they could share.
"I can't be much older than Atae." She said at last. Yes, for some reason that thought had wedged itself into her mind to come free now.
