Bran only now regretted choosing this building and apartment to be the home of him and his soon to be charge. Not only did he have to walk back and forth from the small pile of his belongings that the moving van had placed on the ground, but he also had to clamor all the way up the stairs to his apartment.

Needless to say he left his door wide open to make travel faster. He'd also thrown open the windows and tied back the curtains to freshen the rooms. He enjoyed the view, part of what had attracted him to such a lofty apartment. The barest traces of ruins poking through the greenery was mysterious and alluring. Maybe he'd go for a walk back there sometime.

With a sigh he wiped his brow, rolled his sleeves back up (they'd fallen down yet again) and started down the stairs once more, back out and along the path toward his belongings. Only furniture was left, really, and a few boxes.

He was a bit troubled on how he'd managed moving the furniture... but he'd save that problem for the very last.

Zack had heard rumor that the new folk (there were three of them, right?) were moving in soon. The curious fellow that he was, the man couldn't help but go investigate the appartment. He needed to observe the new residents, you see. Having just moved in himself, he remembered all too well what a hassle moving could be.

Osha tagging along behind him, the black-haired man left his appartment and headed over to the newly occupied building. Building four, was it? Not too far a trek from his own building three. Zack paused as he neared the building...where those ruins? He quirked an eyebrow. Why were there ruins in the compound. Oh well. That's neither here nor there.

Spotting one of the new residents, he waved. "'Lo there!" He paused. "Need some help?" Those boxes looked a bit heavy...

Bran gave a small start as someone called out to him. He realized with a sinking heart that he'd neglected to wrap his horns. He told himself it'd be alright, nobody realized the significance. A man was approaching, and a small boy.

He gave a small bow of his head, brushing a few dark locks of hair that had stuck to his cheek. "Hello." He looked down at the various pieces of furniture. A couch, a overstuffed matching chair, a table and an oak desk. He'd managed to get the bed up just fine on his own with only minimal struggling.

"Help... yes, please. I would appreciate it." He held out his hand, palm down as though he wanted the other man to kiss his knuckle. "I am pleased to make your acquaintance. I am Bran Lio`koli."

Zack blinked as the man started. Oops. At least he didn't fall down, or something. Then he'd actually have to feel bad. He padded over to the man, only breifly noticing his horns. Living on Gaia as long as Zack had, not a lot of things drew him to double take these days.

"I'm Zackary...well, just plain old Zackary. But you can call me Zack!" he greeted Bran, extended his hand to return the shake. Whatever the stranger had been expecting was completely lost on the young man. "And this is Osha." He motioned to the redhead hanging a few feet back, chuckling a little as Osha gave a little wave before trotting off to investigate. He turned back to Bran. "So, whaddya need me to do?"

Bran awkwardly pumped his hand up and down in the shake, definitely not what he'd been expecting. He nodded to Zackary and then down to Osha as the man introduced them both. The little boy's actions brought a smile to the Logos' face.

"Osha... is he..?" He let the question hang in the air, he didn't want to come out and ask if he was a child from this place, he thought it might be too rude. "Oh... it'd be wonderful if you could assist in moving this furniture up to the apartment."

He eyed the various items laying on the grass before heading to one end of the couch. "This would be best, I believe. If you would not mind."

Zack didn't seem to notice Bran's awkward motions. He pulled his hand back, adjusting his headphones a little before turning the volume down. Moving was hard work, see, and being able to hear someone shouting was probably a good idea. Of course, he couldn't live without the music, so turning it off wasn't an option. He was such a genius, turning the volume down. Busy being pleased with himself, he hardly noticed Bran was speaking again. He tuned in just soon enough to catch the little fragment of a sentence.

"Yeah. Osha's one of these kids," he said with a nod. He wasn't sure what he should call them. He glanced back over at the boy, who was currently inspecting the boxes of Bran's stuff, no doubt looking for something colorful. Inspiration. "Hey kid, don't do that. Not your stuff." He felt a little bad, Osha giving him a look like he got his hand caught in the cookie jar.

He glanced back over at Bran, looking a little sheepish. "Sorry 'bout that, man. He likes to look at color n' stuff." He followed him over to the couch. God. Heavy lifting. He was too lazy for this sort of thing. "Alright," he said, moving to the opposite end. "Which floor?"

Bran's expressionless face gave way to an indulgent smile to the child, shaking his head just enough to let his long hair catch about his shoulders. "It's quite alright. Osha, you may go through box labeled knick-knacks if you like. But please be careful, there is pottery in there. Something might have broken during the move."

Osha was sure to find something he liked in there. Bran was a collector... a pack rat. He enjoyed finding the strange, the colorful, and the useless and giving it a home.

That out of the way he turned back to Zack, carefully looking down at the ground with the same expressionless face once more. "Forgive me... the top floor. If you don't wish to assist I would understand. It is heavy work and I have nothing to offer in return for your help."

Osha blinked as the stranger spoke to him. He nodded slowly, giving the man a cautious look. "Uh...thanks, mister," he said, finally remembering his manners. He glanced over at his guardian, waiting until he got the nod of approval before darting to the mentioned box. He started rumaging happily, picking through objects until he came across a particularly colorful statue. How lovely! Pulling it out of the box, he sat on the ground and turned it over, admiring it.

Zack watched the kid, chuckling. He grinned at Bran. "That was awfully nice of ya. Osha loves lookin' at colorful stuff. I'd bet ten bucks he's gonna draw that little knick knack as soon as we get home." He shook his head before looking at the couch. Top floor? s**t. He did offer, though. He couldn't back out now. "No, no, it's alright...let's go on up, then," he said, if only half-heartedly.

He gave a small smile to Zack. "Of course. I'm sure those old things would enjoy being admired by someone other than me." He gave a small nod before heaving up his end of the couch. He waited for Zack to lift his end as well before carefully beginning back toward the building. It wasn't too far and soon they were on the stairs.

"Just.. ah.. just a moment. I need to put my end down." He carefully set down his end, holding onto it so it wouldn't slip. He flexed his fingers. "I appreciate this..." His voice was low and soft. "Just this piece will be fine.. I couldn't ask you to move anything else."

Evie had heard that there were new guardians coming to the compound. Evie was slightly nosy, so of course she found out. She saw them enter the compound and head off towards the lab. Apparently that meant new souls were born then. Obviously. It was nice to get some new faces around the compound. Now she wasn't the new girl around here. Well...she didn't get out much because of school and babysitting her twin brother, but that was aside the fact.

The polite thing to do would be to welcome the new guardians to the compound, and since Elisa was a lady-in-training, she thought it would be best if she tagged along during this little welcoming adventure.

It was nice trek for the duo, but they finally came upon the fourth apartment building. To much of her surprise, Evie saw the familiar faces of Zack and Osha, who were talking to a man that Evie deduced to be a new guardian.

"Hello," Evie said nervously as she twirled a curl. "We came to welcome you, but apparently Zack got here first. Are you a new guardian?"

Elisa was too pre-occupied to be a lady at the moment. It was Osha! Her Pretty Colors Savior! "Osha~!" The small girl chimed happily.

Zack picked up his end of the couch with a small grunt. Oh gods. He hadn't done this much physical exercise since gym class in high school. What as that, seven years ago? Ten years, maybe? Huh. Maybe he should jog, or lift weights, or something.

He was so wrapped up in his own thoughts, he didn't realize Bran was talking. Well, not until he set down the couch. The black-haired man squealed in surprise, reeling backwards. He almost fell down the stairs, grabbing the railing at the last second. Moments later, he had the couch again. Oh gods, his arm really hurt now.

Somehow, having survived the horrific event, Zack and Bran finally made it back downstairs. Winded and feeling pretty stupid, Zack pulled his headphones off to wipe his brow. It was then he heard a familar voice. He glanced over. "Evie! Hi!"

Osha glanced up from his new treasure. "Elisa!" He jumped to his feet, setting his prize down and he ran over to greet his friend.

Bran looked up, surprised as he realized he was being spoken to. He supposed it wasn't too unusual to get so much attention... he was new in this community. He bowed his head politely to the woman. "Hello. Yes, I am." He held out his hand, this time more openly as he remembered the shake Zack had given him. "I am Bran Lio`koli, it is a pleasure to meet you, Evie." He used the name he'd heard Zack call her.

He peered down at the new child, a little girl this time with wild locks as red as Osha's. He felt momentarily envious, quelling it only with the thought that his child would develop soon.

Zack seemed to know this woman, so Bran opted to stand back a little. He glanced over the items on the lawn that still needed to be taken up. The chair, the table and of course... the desk. It was oak and extremely heavy. Perhaps he'd just have to try and sell it to a second hand store and try and find a lighter, more compact one...

"Ah... please forgive me. Are any of you thirsty? Hungry? I unpacked my kitchen supplies earlier so I could make us something for while we talk."

Receiving Bran's hand, Evie gently smiled at both guardians. So this Bran was a new guardian, eh? How nice. It was great to have a new blood. Well...she was pretty new herself, but it was nice to get other new people. Perhaps one day she'd have to invite everyone over for tea...

"Pleasures all mine," She said between her smile. Evie couldn't help but be intrigued by Bran. She never saw anything like him. Perhaps due to her sheltered life or perhaps not, Evie never saw a person with Bran's features. It would be rude to ask about it, but it was still pretty interesting, in a good way.

"That would be lovely," She replied in response to the offer. Talking over food and drinks was always a good time. Evie had fond past times with this.

Gleaming, Elisa, despite her urge to run since ladies don't run, made her away over to Osha. "Osha! Hello!" She said exclaimed greeting him. Accompanying her exclamation, Elisa kissed both sides of his cheek. It was the lady-like thing to do.

Zack stood back as Bran and Evie greeted each other, taking a moment to glance over at the chilren. H'aaw. How cute. He chuckle as Elisa
and Osha bounced around, happily reunited. It was nice to see his redhead so social. He hadn't had so many friends at Osha's age. Friends were a wonderful thing. Gods, he was getting sentimental.

Before he got any more mushy, the young man turned his attention back to his friends, half-hearing, half-reading Bran's offer. Hnn. That sounded pretty nice. "Sounds good." He grinned. "Got any booze?" Maybe the offer was BYOB. Amused with the thought, he watched Bran. "You wanna bring up some more furniture on the way?"

Osha was about to hug Elisa (that's how Gavin and Ina always seemed to greet him) when she leaned up to give him a kiss. Two kisses. This was getting out of control. Having no idea this was just the proper thing to do, Osha started to blush wildly, staring at his feet for a moment. "Wanna play in the treasure box wit' me?"

He gave a pleasant nod to Elvie's reply. He had some snacks already made that he had in mind to bring down... maybe it'd take a little extra to make something extra special for the kids...

He was snapped out of his thoughts by Zack. He eyed the oak desk with almost no expression despite the high emotion he felt. "Well... I would appreciate it greatly if we could get that upstairs as soon as possible.. it's very heavy and the longer it's put off the later it'll get. I don't want rain or dew to harm the finish."

He looked at Zack, his eyes giving way to a tiny glimmer of what could have been apology. "If you would help... I'll cook you something later as thanks."
