I know many of you have come a cross the every so many Sub vs Dubs thread. So many times you will see someone giving out thier bais opinions on why they think subs are always the best. Sometimes you just have to correct them on why you think that thier bais opinions are wrong.
So dub fans, share your interesting stories on how you reply to dub haters.

Here's one. Hikarulol rekki-san it depends on the series i normally watch subs though because you know your getting the whole story...i hate it when the dubbs have people with really think american accents for people it ruins it.. crying You know if you really think about it. Japanese animation should not have Japanese accents, because none of the characters look anything like Japanese people. Judging by you ******** up logic.

Red October Archangel PockyGal I have a suspision that this topic came up because lately because people have been complaining (including myself) about the naruto american dub.
Well, the main reason people think its horrible is because the translation of dantebyo somehow got turned into "BELIEVE IT!!1!!" When it really means "follow your dreams" or "persue your hearts desire" But no they have to make into an obnixious sounding believe it.
I dont mind the dub, as long as i see it first though. If i start out with the raw japanese anime then im used to hearing those voices.
So in conclusion, a dub being good or not is all a matter of what came first and self-opinion.
For me it annoys me how it seems that the american translators decided to just throw the japanese script into a paper shredder and make up their own crap. >>; VIZ Media removed "Believe it!" from the English dub of Naruto solely to appease you and your ilk, and yet you are still not satisfied. Nah, I think the voices in subs are a lot better than in dubs. They're more... original, I guess. It feels more authentic to watch subbed anime. To hell with your concept of "authenticity." So what if Johnny Yong Bosch doesn't sound exactly like Masakazu Morita? So what if Maile Flanagan doesn't sound exactly like Junko Takeuchi? So what if Wendee Lee doesn't sound exactly like Aya Hirano? So what if Vic Mignogna doesn't sound exactly like Romi Paku? As long as the Amerikaners can play their roles satisfactorily, that's all that matters.

Personally I can't stand any dubbing outside of the original language its meant to be in. i agree. no matter what the form of tv shows is it should be kept in the language that is was original created in. if people cant watch because they dont like japanese and will only watch in english then i feel that they kind of dont deserve to watch it. but that's just my opinion. please dont kill me! Agreed Japanese people have no right to watch Avatar, The Simpsons, Family Guy, South Park, Gargoyles, Batman TAS, any Disney movie like Little Mermaid, Buety and the Beast, Snow White, dumbo. As well as other animated movies like An American Tail, Iron Giant, Shrek, Happy Feet. If Japanese people don't like english and only watch it in Japanese then they don't desurve to watch it. Sadly applying your logic Kingdom Hearts should not exist. That series would never exist if classic Disney movies were not dubbed in Japanese. I mean just look at the name changes of Naruto, Bleach, FMA, Cowboy Bebop, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Yu Yu Hakasho, Negima, Fruists Baskets, Blood+ Z mind, and 95% of dubs out there I mean really. So few dubs actually change names that it is an invalid excuse for hating all dubs. Creativerealms The main group of people who still hate dubs are living in the past and fail to see that dubbing has improved 100 times over in the past ten years alone. Cowboy bebop, FMA, Trigun, Bleach Blood+ and so on are NOT the exception to the rule. They are the rule now. Bad dubs are now the exception. Times have changed that much. Get with the times. Um...ever heard of giving credit where credit is due? Also, if Naruto is so much less edited than other shows...why doesn't it have the correct ending in the American version. Most dubs, as a rule, are badly done because of a difference in culture. Over in Japan, the voice actors make careers out of it, here, most of them just do it as a side job and would rather be in some big Hollywood movie. Now, granted the CN is getting a lot of undue critizem in this topic because CN rarely dubs the shows themselves. Bout the only one that I can think of that they did themselves, or at least had a part in was Big O. Most of the dubbing companies, ADV, Funimation, 4Kids, Viz, dub the stuff and then give it to CN if CN wants it. Another thing, if Naruto is going to be the only example against this...try again cause there are a lot of series that have been really badly dubbed. Oh, and the Naruto dub was bad. Listen to his voice compared to a good series and try not to get annoyed.

Without Disney, we will neve have anime to begin with. disney is completely different from anime ... fine when white people start making JAPANESE anime Disney is not completely different from anime, because anime is animation. Which the Japanese refer to. How the hell can white people make Japanese anime when they speak a language that is not Japanese.

A funny one from my mule account. Heylisten Ayaakashi Honestly, I don't like dubs. I know that some are better than others, but using 4kids as an example works. Most companies don't dub in the ridiculous and exagerated way that 4kids does, however, 4kids is the ideal example of how very ridiculous and exagerated dubbing can be. I am cooler because I watch the sub, it's the original, and it's what the anime was supposed to be. (It's watching anime if the first place that makes us uncool.) Please stop talking about 4kids. We already know all that. 4kids is another story all together, because 4kids entertainment is the only one that ******** up anime. And judging by your logic, Japan should not have a Japanese dub of shows like spongebob squarepants, because spongebob was made in English fist. That's the dumbest thing I heard all day....wait I heard this already. Just because it was made in that language, doesn't mean I should watch it in a language I don't understand.

OMG you must read this. Hikarulol Gurenn Heylisten Gurenn Most dubs just plain suck. They are censored or americanized. When they aren't, they just don't have the same voices anymore. Translations aren't completely right either. They have to be altered so they are in sync with the moving mouths. And every Japanese suffix is removed no matter what. This completely destroys the grade of respect characters have towards each other. And fansubs are usually better translated than the professional ones. Not because the fansubbers have more knowledge than the professional subbers, but just because even the subs have some censorship in them. Ok let me fix everything wrong with this post. 1) 4kids is the only dubbing company that Americanized anime 2) When things get censored, it's the FCC not the dub. 3)No s**t Sherlock. A course they will not have the same voices. America and Japan is two different countries. 4) Translations are not completely correct with the manga. Do you know that Japanese have one word that means a whole sentence. How the hell are they going to shove a sentence in some characters mouth lips. 5) Duh the Japanese suffix must be removed. Otherwise the characters be speaking Japanlish just like many people saying baka in their speach. If the did kept the suffix, it will be desrespect to the Japanese. 6)Last thing n00b. The Japanese language do not have real curse words in it! You just repeated everything I said. Because all the Japanese stuff is removed, the dub sucks. Anime isn't American, so it should be kept Japanese. And I don't care about the FCC. It may not be the fault of the dubbers, but it doesn't take away the fact that dubs suck. And I wasn't talking about cursing in subs. Just for an example: In La Blue Girl Miko says she's 16 years old. The official subs say she's 18 because the subbers thought 16 was too young. And don't you dare call me n00b again. I'd like to start a discussion without people scolding at eachother. Wow you can't understand anything can you? 4kids is the only dubbing company that Americanized their anime! No other company in the US do those kind of things anymore. You should know the FCC is the problem of why we have things edited for the TV viewers, not the dub. So it doesn't take away the fact that dubs do not suck! Little n00bs need to see blood and guts for thier entertainment. Judging by your logic that anime should be kept Japanese, then it shouldn't be sub in English and ported to the US. It should be kept in Japan for only the Japanese to see. And if a certain age difference is change because of America FCC, then go out and buy the ******** DVDs. That way the age, cuss words, and blood is still kept in all it's glory. Fan subbers often time add cuss words to spice it up a bit. So don't think that some highschooler who translates an anime, is completely correct you n00b. So all those little things you complain about is not the reason why all dubs sucks, because they don't numbnut. It's impossible for every last dub out there too suck.
