Hmmm...if Charlie had died...would it have been Penny?
I'm kinda glad it wasn't her. If it had been, then it would have been like she found our where he was and then lefy immediatly on her own. This way, at least at this point, I can pretend the girl who crashed was the "scouting ahead" person checking to see if an island was even really there.... Too bad the scout's ******** now!

i loved Jin's scary story and Hurleys reaction! blaugh
So it wasn't Penny, but another women... do you think if Desmond hadn't of prevented Charlie from dieing it would've indeed have been Penny? anyways i think the lady might have been one of Pennys friends, or someone that was in the same helicopter with her?

Desi was in a Catch-22 - damned if you do, damned if you don't. Damned if he doesn't save Charlie to get what he wants, but damned if he does because he doesn't get what he wants. Also, that was the book they found in the bag. It was just in a foreign language.

I found, on imdb.com, that the person that was found at the end , her name is Naomi. But I still don't see why it is called 'Catch 22'....

Just look at the definition of "Catch 22"
1. a frustrating situation in which one is trapped by contradictory regulations or conditions. 2. any illogical or paradoxical problem or situation; dilemma. 3. a condition, regulation, etc., preventing the resolution of a problem or situation; catch.
I loved the episode. Hoping the girl doesn't die, so we can find out wtf is going on.
I don't think it would have been Penny if Charlie had died, she'd already crash landed at that time.
EDIT: Besides, they found the book before Charlie tripped the trap, and the book was in Portuguese, and the girl looked like she could be of that ethnicity. Also (after some reasarch thanks to Wiki) in Desmond's vision the book was in English. Perhaps just knowing that it was going to happen was enough to change everything. EDIT (again): In the flashback, Charlie was there when they cut the parachute down. Perhaps Charlie dying in the flashback was just a way of warning Desmond to protect him.
Also, Kate is lame. stare

Also, Kate is lame. stare ;.; I just explained what Catch-22 was all about even. Alas. There's no way that girl would have been Penny if Charlie had died, but I can see Desmond DESPERATELY wanting it to be her and wondering if any deviation from the path of his vision would change the outcome, since it so clearly does in at least one way, the way of the living Charlie. Kate is so lame. She doesn't want to have sex with Sawyer until she gets jealous of Jack and Juliet. And then she acts all ignorant of her reasons, like, what? Using you? ME? Never. Buck up, Kate, and choose. Seriously.
