Yes i know, some people might thik "eww what an icky subject" but hey, it's a part of every girls and womans life. So people, lets talk about perdios. Boys join in too, you know you're always welcome. I've actually noticed that not many boys know anything about periods, but hey boys did you know that without our periods the human race would die off?
"What does your period mean? Starting your periods is a major milestone of puberty and means that you can now become pregnant. You can expect to have a period every month until well into your middle-age.
Scared? Squeamish? It helps to know the science behind your cycle.
As a woman releases an egg each month, the lining of her womb becomes thicker to prepare itself for pregnancy. If the egg is fertilised, this lining will then gently cushion the egg as it develops into a baby. If the egg is not fertilised, both the egg and lining leave the woman’s body through the v****a - and this is what causes the bleeding you experience during your period."
I myself have to say i hate my periods becouse i get horrid pains in the first couple of days. its hard for me to stand and i turn really white as a ghost from the pain.
Do you girls have periodic pains? How do you ease them? What do your periods mean to you?
Lets discuss everything periodic XD
Oki weird topic and i dont know how this has anything to do with lolita, but delete if you feel the need

im glad that my personality dosent really change.. i just fell the craving to make food and clean <_< I also started mine yesterday. ive had mine for 7-8 years and their still irregular O__o I can have threee days of hell or i once had seven days. I hate getting into a really bad shape, but thats what i do every first day (like yesterday) I could hardly get to the first floor from the third in my school to first get painkillers and by the time i got down stares to take them and eat i was seriously as white as a sheet and my legs we're shaking really badly. Everybody was staring at me and some guys looked ready to zoom out of their seats if i fainted. And i remember when i was still in middle school, i craweled home one day and then my friend came to take me, the pain is so terrible.
And i agree with you icesinger, thank god for painkillers

Ugh my gosh I hate my period, it's so terrible. Because I just got it last year, it's so random when it comes and I haven't had it for a while.
But when I do get it, my cramps are so terrible. I feel immobolized but I still have to do things like physical education. (once I had gotten my period the day we ran our weekly mile, it was agony)
Currently I haven't had it for about four months, I think my mom should take me to the doctor ._.; This has happened before, and when I'm on it it's just terrible because it hurts so much. My mom still doesn't want to take me though...

I sometimes have two months cap still and yeah ive had mine for seven or eight years now. So dont worry about them ^__^ Be happy to live without them so long lol

If your cramps really are that bad then I would see your OB-GYN because cramps are generally caused by clots and even cists (sp?) and should be monitored and treated (can't always be treated but if it's a more serious problem then it can be and MUST be) Also while birth control can lessen the cramps and make it more regular, it can also mess you up quite a bit. The Depovera shot- I went on it in high school because my "active" friend told me she never gets her period on it. It was all fine and dandy for 6 months of nothing but a lil spotting here and there when I would normally get my period. No cramps it was great. But then I got it for 2 MONTHS STRAIGHT! It would be heavy, light, spotty but was everyday. My cramps before then weren't too bad but they could get bad and have ever since been getting progressivly worse. I'm told it's gets worse as one gets older and after childbirth. My Friend used the patch and got a life-threatening bloodclot! So many can be very dangerous. The Yaz one with low estrigen might be nice, it's sposed to shorter periods and less cramping but you never know.

I just finished my period a couple days ago. whee
Anyway, cramps aren't really a problem for me. EXCEPT, that first day I have it. I almost always forget to carry pain killers, and the first day of my period ALWAYS leaves me in so much pain I can't even function properly. I've failed or had to re-take more than one test simply because I couldn't stand to sit still and I was in so much pain I couldn't focus.
Pain killers. heart What also helps is tea. I have a special spot for Jasmine tea. Andd, my mother has a hot water bottle that I like to curl up into a ball with. 'Cept only she knows where it is, so I usually have to wait til she gets home from work. D:
My temper isn't really affected ... then again, my temper is pretty bad normally, so of course, someone will get their hand bitten off if they try to bother me while I'm on my period but that's not my fault. Who in their right mind tries to bother someone with cramps?

Have you seen your Doctor about that, because it doesn't seem normal. Are you still on the shot?

Have you seen your Doctor about that, because it doesn't seem normal. Are you still on the shot? Yea, it definately wasn't normal and I would go see the doctor (It happened 3 different times before I got off it) but they'd give me estrigen pills (1 pill for seven days) and It would be fine by the 2nd or 3rd day of that. After my next shot it didn't happen until a few days after the next shot cycle. I went back and it happened again the next time too so I decided to not refill the perscription. The same thing happened to a few of the girls I knew on it. Not really sure why it happens to some and not others.

Lets discuss everything periodic XD Oki weird topic and i dont know how this has anything to do with lolita, but delete if you feel the need i have pains but i have cancer. (endometrisosis) which is: it's like the fallopian tubes, it is a vine/finger like bloodvessle that wraps around my uterus and ovaries. it makes my period SUPER painful (the pain you have with your period, i have all the time, and it's worse when i get my period. *ugh*) it's not deadly, but can prevent me from having kids, and it can wrap around your bladder, kidneys and everything around the area. not much can be done, just get the ENTIRE reproductive system removed...>.<. You also have SUPER irregular periods, i once had it for 4 months straight with about 2 days without it, and i've gone 7months without it, for no reason. (wasn't pregnant, or on pills that prevented it.) to ease MY pain: i eat bananas...though it might be because i crave them, but i guess it works for my friend too. bananas and oranges. lots of fruit, sleep, pain pills (XD), and tea. Herbal tea and fruity teas. (I am pagan and i have a garden where i get everything to make my tea) It's better to have organic tea than processed. my period means to me: my boyfriend getting me flowers, extra sleep, skipping school (XD), lots of hugs and back rubs, oh, getting my lower back rubbed and massaged helps ease the pain more than heat, and my period also means about 4 days in hell. xoxo `lissie

What my period means to me? Hmm, well, it gives me an excuse to feel crappy, take lots of naps, be angry or sad at any given time for a whole week! Although, usually the first day or two I have extremly painful cramps. So bad, that I usually just lay the whole day watching TV, reading, or napping. xp
To ease my pain, well, I usually don't. I kind of like to raide the pain out, as sadistic as that sounds. xd I do eat comfort foods and I listen to music and watch my favorite movies and shows. I also use a heating pad occationally on my lower abdomen or on the small of my back. That's always nice. Or, when it's a nice sunny day out, I lay in the sun. The sun's heat feels SO good when I'm having cramps. 3nodding
