French Thrash/Death Metal. absolutely amazing. i've had their album "Unhealthy Opera" for about a year now, and i think i've known 3 or 4 people in my life that've even heard of this band.

anyone else a fan (or, anyone else who dosen't defy the French in every possible way sweatdrop )?

Ooooh...sounds tasty. I haven't heard 'em yet, but I'm definitely gonna try to download some samples now. I don't know much about the French metal scene, but that's prolly 'cause I spend most of my time in Sweden and Finland. sweatdrop

good sources to find their music. their myspace website has downloads availalbe too :]

Sweden has some of the finest metal on the planet-- In Flames was the first true modern metal band i ever really got into. Finland does too, but it's all neo-classical, and either WAY over-rated or WAY underground.

Im not a fan of death metal (just the vocals) but these guys rock! Suprisingly I have heard of these guys before, they were one of the first metal bands I was introduced to.

biggrin i'm glad you like them! if you get a chance, pick up the UNHEALTHY OPERA album. there's a lot of crazy, haunting guitar work... their song "The Book" reminds me alot of the music for the computer game Diablo. domokun

mad Dammit. My home compy is refusing to comply with MySpace. I'll have to check it out tomorrow at college.

*swoons* If metal was a religion, I'd pray five times a day facing Gothenburg. xd In Flames is definitely in my top five metal bands, and regardless of what the rest of the community says, I'm a fan of all their material, even RtR and StYE. And let's not forget Dark Tranquillity. And Soilwork. And Scar Symmetry. Though I'm currently obsessed with those wonderful Danes known only as Mercenary. Superb vocalist.

redface aside from Colony, RtR and StYE are my favorite albums. haha, great timing too... "Bullet Ride" off of Clayman just came on iTunes. heart DT, Soilwork, Scar Symmetry... don't forget about Darkane, Naglfar, and Opeth!

ahh... and if you're into Danish metal, check out MNEMIC! crazy ******** industrial/experimental/math metal. their new album Passenger is really bad... check out the first album, Mechanical Spin Phenomena.

Oh yeah, Colony is wonderful. whee But I liked Come Clarity too, even if it had some weak tracks (Scream and Your Bedtime Story Is Scaring Everyone). The rest was just awesome, especially the title track and Leeches. Duh. Opeth. *smacks self* idea Oooh, and System Shock.

Sounds...annoying, to be honest. I'm not much for industrial or "math" (silly genre). Me love Mercenary long time 'cause they found their muse on 11 Dreams. Prog/melo-death with a vocalist that can growl with the best of them as well as hit those power metal highs. And don't get me started on their guitar harmonies.

sounds interesting. i'll give 'em a shot... but seriously, regardless of what i say, give Mnemic a chance! check out their Myspace, and listen to "Ghost" and "Liquid". amazing drummer.

confused i was never really a fan of Come Clarity. i really loved the chorus on "Our Infinite Struggle", "Leeches", and "Dead End". honestly, i REALLY love "Your Bedtime Story Is Scaring Everyone"... it isn't metal. at all. it actually fits into the Ambient category-- and i'm a HUGE fan of ambient music... Godspeed You! Black Emperor, A Silver Mt. Zion, U.N.K.L.E., Sigur Ros, The Album Leaf... heart

I personally think they are horrible.

They just sound like generic thrash...
