Hello and welcome to "The Creative Writing Guild". I try to be pretty lenient when creating rules, however there are some things that absolutely must be followed. These rules include:
exclaim Following Gaia's Terms of Service
exclaim No flaming, or harassing guild members
exclaim No taking credit for other people's work! (I know this is included in Gaia's TOS, however given the nature of this guild, I thought it would be approprite to restate it).
Breaking one of these rules may result in banning from the guild. I don't like to ban members, and I try to avoid doing so if possible, however I will not tolerate these behaviors. Other rules to keep in mind are:
arrow Keep threads in the appropriate subform please. This should be pretty self-explanatory. Threads posted in the wrong forum will be moved and a gentle warning will be given. Any and all spam will be deleted. Repeat offenses of spamming may result in a ban.
arrow Try to keep writing PG 13 or lower. Now, this is somewhat tricky because the purpose of this guild is to be able to freely express oneself through writing. I am aware that sometimes this may include the use of harsh language or somewhat sexual or violent themes, however if you can spare to edit it a bit, then please do. I will not delete writing that uses harsh language, violence, or sexual content unless I feel that it is highly inappropriate or violates Gaia's TOS, however I ask that you please write "Mature" in the subject title of your thread if you feel it may be concidered above PG 13. If you do not do this, I may edit the title myself if I feel it should be classified as mature.
arrow Please be considerate to other members' feelings when posting critique. Constructive criticism can be a great thing, but not if it is abused. Please keep all criticism constructive, and do not post anything overly negative. Remember, this guild is about freedom of expression. Don't make others feel self conscious about posting their work.
arrow Be as literate as possible. This is a writers guild and as such, you are expected to use the best spelling and grammar skills possible. I'm aware that people make mistakes, and you will not be chastised for honest mistakes (I do it myself all the time), however please at least make it obvious that you tried. Spell check if you can, and please no chat speak or l33t speak. An occasional "lol" or emoticon is fine when appropriate, but don't abuse it please!
Other than that, have fun and enjoy yourself!
Note: Rules may be changed or added if problems should arise.
