Today I made myself look like an idiot. There was a bug in the classroom and people were freaking out. Then I was going to move the bug out of the classroom when a guy stood in my way and told me that it was God's creature and that I shouldn't kill it. I assured him that I was not going to kill it but he still would not let me through. Another guy was tired of the argument so he dropped a heavy literature book on it and killed it. I was shocked and I went back to my seat but said something really really stupid. I said "You will regret that when you find out it was your great great great grandmother." It took a whole minute for people to understand what I said but then someone asked me if I believed in reincarnation as he tried not to laugh. I said yes because I can not avoid telling the truth when confronted even if it will cause horrible rumors. (good thing that I have only been confronted by someone who wont spread more rumors) Then everyone started smiling and trying not to laugh. It was really humiliating. The bell rang one minute later and I walked out of there as fast as I could.
Most people at school do not truly know that I am a witch but there are lots of ugly rumors around that I am an evil witch. This will just resurface those rumors and possibly make them worse. I will get through it though. No matter how much humiliation it may cause me, I will get out of high school in a month and a half.
I really need to keep my mouth shut. These outbursts are what made the rumors in the first place.
Have you guys ever made yourselves look stupid when you say something about paganism?

I go to an art school and no one cares here. We have odd stuff going on all the time. Having said that, there is my dad's family who doesn't know that I'm pagan, with good reason. It would be a friggin witch hunt if they found out. So, I have said a lot of stuff about symbolism and my dad looks at me curiously but then passes it off as, "she reads a whole lot." So in that aspect, I'm lucky.

MeakoSneezes my dad's family...doesn't know that I'm pagan, with good reason. It would be a friggin witch hunt if they found out. I know how that feels. I have been pagan for some time now but I've already been ridiculed by my maternal grandmother (who also boxed my ears at the age of 19), yelled at by my mom, treated like s**t by the entire Jehovah's Witness community I grew up with because of a bad rumor being spread by my mom and grandmother, and I have almost no friends now because of it. The few I do have actually suck REALLY bad... I know all too well that were my father to find out, suddenly, I wouldn't be so welcome in his house anymore...

My mom tells me that I'll 'grow out of it'. Nope. Sorry, I've done too many things (and have gotten in enough trouble) to convince me otherwise. I think my grandmother on my dad side knows though. I think that she just accepts me because she's getting older.

lets face it folks were all past the point of no return, even if we wanted to the memories are too engrained into us to just leave behind.

Very much agreed. I would always miss it if I returned to a different religion. I would rather just incorporate other religions into my own than returning.
