September 14th, 2010- The big news right now is CONTESTS! We finally have a contest posted and NO ONE IS ENTERING! There's still two weeks left, so you have plenty of time to enter. In order to boost entrees, I made a change to the prize system. All prizes have been doubled! The new rewards are as follows: 1st place=10,000 2nd place= 2,000 3rd place= 1,000
In addition, I'm taking suggestions on other things you'd like to see added to the contest. One suggestion I've gotten so far is to raise the number of prompts per month. I'm thinking about adding a third so that there would be three prompts to chose from each month instead of two. I'd like to hear your opinions about this, as well as any other suggestions you can think of.
Also, as far as the topic of contests go, I've gotten quite a few requests for member-run contests. Let me give you my final word on that. If you would like to make a member-run contest, feel free to do so in the appropriate subforum, however I ask that clearly state your rules in your first post and please be honest in your hosting. I also will take no responsibility for supplying the money for your contest (it's completely up to YOU), nor can I get your money back for you in cases of scams or rigged contests. I cannot guarantee that every person who hosts a contest will be 100% honest, however if someone does try to rig or scam a contest, please notify me and I will take appropriate action. Hopefully everyone here is honest and this will not be an issue.

Old News July 23rd, 2010- After several years of inactivity, I've decided to start rebuilding the guild! I've had a lot going on in my life lately and gone through a lot of really close calls medically, so I hope you all can forgive me for my extended absence. Hopefully we'll be able to get the guild back up and running shortly. If you know anyone who would like to join, please let me know and I'll be sure to send them an invite. Lets get things rolling again!
Once we have some more active members (hopefully within a month or so) we'll start doing our monthly writing contests again.
Also, I'm in need of some active and reliable crew members, so if you are interested, let me know. I wont be making any decisions until I get to know everyone a little better, but you can let me know in advance if you are at least interested. An official "Searching for Crew" thread will be posted once we have some more members. September 24th, 2007- The time has come for me to leave my mother's house and find a place to call my own. xp In other words, I'm moving to a new house on October 1st. Until then, I'm going to be extremely busy! I've barely even started packing-though it's my own fault-and have a million other things to do to get ready, so my presence in the guild will be almost non-existent until after I move. Expect to see me around again near the beginning of October once I'm moved and have my computer set up in my new house. Be good while I'm away!September 3rd, 2007- It seems like guild activity has been steadily increasing lately. Hopefully we will continue to expand. I had recieved several requests for a formal "Novel-length story" subforum so I decided to create a new subforum specifically for novels and other long stories to accomodate the growing guild. You can now post anything relating to your novel or other long story in the new "Novel Library." I hope everyone will enjoy the new subforum smile July 7th, 2007- Well, last month's writing contest had very little interest. Infact, there was only one entrant. On top of that, my real life still has me very tied down. It took me forever to finally get through all the entries from May. I've decided that although I like the idea of holding writing contests, it should be something that is reserved for certain occasions rather than every month. I don't really have tons of extra time to organize it, and the guild doesn't seem that interested. I'm very sorry for those of you who liked the contest idea. It will still show it's head every now and then. My appologies.
The prompt idea will still stay around, there just wont be a contest attached to it. I think I may cut it down to one per month. Either that, or perhaps pick several to do at the begining of the month. I haven't decided yet.
And I've just added July's prompt. It's late...again...but there is no contest this time so although I appologize, at least there is no deadline to worry about icon_xp.gif June 2nd, 2007- Alright. Again I sincerely apologize for my absence around here. I've had a lot on my plate in real life lately. Nothing bad per se, but it's certainly kept me away from my computer. I've been trying to read through everyone's contest entries, and I have most all of them read already. Hopefully within the next few days, Caro and I will begin to pick the best and award the winners. I will have the next prompt up sometime today as well, although possibly not until evening. I'm so sorry to get it started late but I promise it will at least be up sometime today!
Again, I really apologize for somewhat neglecting the guild. I really hope to have more time to post and help manage it again soon. May 12th, 2007- First of all, I want to apologize for my absence. I haven't been around much in the last week or so due to work. I've been trying to pop in every day to at least check and make sure things are okay. Hopefully this next week I'll be a little less tied down.
I've made a few changes to the guild. The fanfiction Den has been taken down due to no activity. Instead, it has become the Contest/Writing Prompt Den! Everything related to the writing contest will now be placed in there, so if you're wondering where all the contest stuff went, have a look in there. Somehow the old "contest rules" thread got deleted so I made a new one. Just so everyone knows, fanfictions are still allowed! If you want to post one, you're more than welcome to post it in the main forum. The subforum was just deleted because clearly it is not important enough to have it's own subforum and I needed another one for contest related threads.
I've also added a crew only subforum. I know we don't really have much of a crew yet, but I still thought it would be useful in the long run. April 24th, 2007- We have another new subforum! This one is the Guild's own "General Discussion". There it is okay to talk about most anything and just generally get to know eachother better. The rules for the subforum are posted inside. April 14th, 2007- The new Short Story subforum is up! Please post all short stories in the subforum from now on mrgreen
Also, we're off to a great start so far! As the guild expands, I'm going to be looking for crew members to help moderate the guild. I'll be trying to get to know everyone a little better to determine who I think would make good moderators. Keep in mind, I'm not making any decisions yet. The guild is still small enough that I can handle it on my own for awhile and as I stated, I want to make sure those I pick are trustworthy and dedicated to the guild. I just thought I'd give everyone a heads up.April 12th, 2007- The guild is open! It's still under construction at the moment, however nothing can be done until the guild accumulates more funds. If you'd like to donate to the guild, it would be much appreciated.

~Writer's Panel- Here you will be able to chat with other writers about different techniques or styles, as well as share ideas and perhaps play some writing games (add-on stories and the like).
~Fanfiction Lounge- This will be the place to post any stories that are based off of your favorite anime, video games, t.v. shows, movies, etc.
Possible Future Subforums include:
Short Stories, Novel length stories, general chat, and autobiographical/self reflective writing.
Comments and suggestions are appreciated.

I am looking forward to everyone's work. It take a sharpened mind to write. We are creating pictures with words. I have some things I do that helps me because I have too many ideas which need to be focased better. I'll share the knowledge I have gathered on my way to get published. Just ask. smile
