(( xDD I couldn't think of a title )) Wow, just another day, like any other day. Zeda glanced at dragonfly sitting on a cat tail by the lake edge. It had a beautiful sparkle to it when the sun's rays hit it. A plop sound came from the middle of the lake. Brownish and goldish fish jumped up and snatched at a unlucky fly. Her ears were good at listening for sudden things and she liked to close her eyes and enjoy the scenery...with her ears. Right now, Zeda's eyes remained closed, and she breathed in slowly and breathed out slowly, relaxing herself. What was there to do? Meh, who cares.
Her body sat up straight and she open an eye and narrowed it at a butterfly close to landing on her hoof. Snorting in it's direction, the creature got disturbed and quickly flew off.

Keahi stared at the sun playing upon the water's surface, her eyes large. She could just make out the briefest glimpes of shadows moving beneath. The mare's nose was very close to the water, close enough that if the water was moved by the wind at the same time as she took a breath, she would get a lungfull of water. She had wadded out into the water until she was up to her knees, to get a better look.
A snort broke her concentration. She looked up, her ears perked. In typical fashion, her eyes focused on the flitting butterfly before they landed on the mare. She took a step towards the other.
"Hello!"

Ears twitching, Zeda shot her eyes towards a mare standing in the water. She didn't say 'hi' back, simply just looked at her to see what this one brings. Yawning, the sun was starting to make her sleepy, but she didn't want to fall asleep with another one right there.
No response still, she gazed up at the clouds and ignored the mare. Looking from left to right, then into the water, waiting for a fish to approach the surface ofthe liquid. A fish did appear, and she watched it swim in a figure eight and then down to the bottom and disappeared. She didn't want to lift her head, and look around no more, this was boring.

Keahi blinked; had the mare not heard her? She had clearly seen the other's gaze rest on her, if only for a moment!
"Hello?" She repeated, her ears swiveling to and fro. She approached cautiously, the water moving about her in swirls at each lift of her hooves. Her walk was slightly odd, almost floaty; each time she lifted a hoof, water rushed in under it, and caused her to float slightly. The little fish fleed in all directions as she moved forwards.
"My name is Keahi, may I ask yours?" She was now fairly close to the mare, still standing at a distance but close enough to make her presence obvious.

Wow, she was really wanting to talk wasn't she? She sighed and looked at her once again. "Zeda," she announced outloud, standing up to stretch her legs. This other mare had fire like markings on her side, it was interesting to look at for a few seconds but then Zeda lost her interest and instead flicked her tail from side to side and waited for the other to say something.
There wasn't much in the scene but the two of them. There was, however, the creatures buzzing around her ears. Which was annoying and she moved her head down to take a sip of water, hoping to get the bee away from her head.

"It is a pretty name." Keahi said, relieved. She had been wondering if she had done something to offend the mare by simply existing. She noted that Zeda was looking about as though bored.
"Mm..." Her mind went through all possible conversation starters, and she cast them aside one by one. Too boring, too usual, doesn't apply.
Her eyes wandered over the mare as she thought of what to say, and at her hooves they stopped. She stared at the splattered red. Keahi's head jerked up. "Is that blood?"

"I wish," she said starign down at her hooves, "I haven't experienced that far in life that blood has been dropped on me." Smirking down at where she is looking. She wanted the markings to be blood, then she'll have a heroic story to tell herself, just like how Yei had a story to tell her when she was younger. "I got them from my father," she nodded, "Your body looks like you've been burnt, but the burnt marks make a pattern." Zeda looked at them closely, at some parts the marks would fade away. She snorted and looked around to find something to amuse her.

Keahi could barely contain her relief. What if the mare had been hurt? That would have explained her slightly dazed and glazed-over look, though it would present other problems: How would Keahi help her? Would the mare except help? Would the person who hurt her have to pay? Where would that person be? Should Keahi go after them, or wait here? What if Zeda had hurt herself? Would she then need scolding? Did Keahi have any right to scold? ... Keahi tried to throw out the questions that came swarming in, for she knew that it was only her over-active mind and did not spawn from any real need for such ponderings. She shook her head and tuned back in to the other mare's words.
Her eyes lit up, now shining with the light of a sun... for before, they had shone with that of a simple bulb.
"My father gave me my markings as well! His cover his entire body. My mother gave me the fire markings..." She trailed off, watching as the mare looked about; Keahi couldn't seem to keep her attention.
"Um... do you like the night?" She hazarded a guess, thinking that since Zeda herself was so dark she may like something like that.

"Interesting," glancing over at her side. Normally, just by her being rude, the other would've left long ago, she guessed that maybe this mare had nothing more to do. "Hmph...the night? I don't really care about day or night," she said taking a few steps into the water to get her legs moving a bit, "Both ways, I'm out here or there. There isn't much to do around here." Yawning and let her eyes close for a few seconds. They opened back afterwards.
Well, if she wants to chat, might as well do so. She thought silently in her head and sighed. "Tell me about yourself," she waited for a reply and lowered herself into the cool water.

Keahi shrugged at the other's admission; she felt much the same way... although she was more equal on both, then indifferent. The daylight did offer greater light for her to examine things by, but then the night presented wonders of it's own.
She flicked a droplet of water off her tail, but otherwise stood still.
"Well... I have two sisters..." a glint flickered in her eye, and the corner of her mouth twitched. Two sisters, indeed... though often, they were more like a herd of sisters. "... We are close. Even so, we do have our squabbles. Whenever one of those occurs, I go off and just study things." She blinked. "Ah, I love to learn new things about everything." She was not one for self-reflection, as she spent most of her time focussing on others.
"And yourself?"

Snorting at the sound of sister, she remembered her own. Right now, she felt like stepping on her face as that her sister hasn't visited her once. Zeda had liked her sister when younger and as they grew older, they also grew apart. Morgana hung around their grandma more than Zeda. It was her fave. thing to do. It should be her who have still been around her grandma. Now, she was out here looking at her reflection and deep into her thoughts. The mare shook her head and looked up.
"I have one sister, haven't seen her ever since we grew up to mature adults. For all I could say, is that she could even be dead right now," her voice sounded mysterious. She lifted a hoof and pushed it down towards the surface of the lake. Spsshh! "Hmph...my parents, well, haven't seen them either. I guess I'm not too close to my family." Maybe it wasn't her fault that Morgan took her spot. Zead hated that the fact it could be hers, this was one other thing in the world she cares about, her grandma. Nightshade was her role model. The other hoof lifted up this time and was pushed back into the cool water.

Keahi tried to hide the confusion she felt at the other's revelatioins; she could not quite comprehend a family that was not as close as her own. Oh, she knew that they were out there, but it was still a shock to realize that familys like that could last long without the support of each other. Her own sisters had been slightly reluctant to leave their parents, even though they all wished to explore the world about them. Their parents had been slightly nervous, even the stoic father, to allow their only children to wander about when Kalona and other 'evil' creatures roamed the land. Keahi had ran into her sisters often during her travels, and they would share stories of their adventures before going their seperate ways.
She gave a slightly weak smile. "It doesn't bother you at all, that one who shares your bloodline could no longer walk this earth?" If Ember or Kindle died, she didn't know what she'd do...
