The CD store was small and cramped, but fortunately for the claustrophobic Taylor, it was nearly empty. She, in fact, was the only customer, unless you could count the small, dark red, smokey mass that floated around her head, occasionally emitting soft peeps and gurgles only she could hear.
Taylor was doing her best to tune out the ghost and listen to the music on her headphones again. The store let her sample the CDs, so she was currently listening to Mozart's Requiem and deciding if it was really going to help with math skills.
Gods knew her children needed math skills. And it probably wouldn't hurt for the ghost to get a little classical music training either.

Hadn't she learned her lesson about going into strange shops yet? Apparently not, as Nessalyn, hair braided thick down her back, and her outft, though a bit slightly too trendy for this area, was casual at best. As always, Vilia close to her, and for once, the little ghost wasn't wrapped around some part of her, but floating jauntily above her head, waving her wand almost playfully.
Maybe the little thing liked shopping? Must be a female soul, then. Chuckling softly to herself, Nessalyn stopped dead in her tracks when she spotted the one other person in the store.
Who also had a wand. And a ghost.
Really, this was getting quite silly. How many WERE there? She was running into them EVERYWHERE! Rolling her eyes, the commander squared her shoulders, walked forward, and tapped the person on the shoulder.
"Hello there."

"WHA!"
It was an impressive chain reaction. Taylor, absorbed in her music, didn't notice this new customer until she felt a tap on her shoulder. Ever since the "incident" at the headquarters, she'd been jumpier then usual, and this was no exception. She whipped around, pulling her headphone cord out of the CD player in the process, and simutaniously knocking over a stack of Russian symphonies. The ghost, apparently equally startled, ducked behind her.
Oh. It wasn't some hideous monster from beyond, Taylor realized. Just another girl, with another... hey, another floaty thing! What the crap? They were everywhere!
Taylor sighed, running a hand through her scruffy brown hair and looking around at the chaos she'd caused. "Sorry. Just kinda... spazzy, lately. Um... hi?"
Yeah. Real smooth. "Um... hey, is that one of those wand ghost things?" Best to get right to the point. The red ghost was still behind her back, peeping out cautiously over her shoulder.

Neatly, she jumped out of the way before she could be knocked in the head with flying CDs. Vilia wasn't pleased, and let out a smell that would probably kill a horse. Certainly Ness gagged, almost falling over.
"Oh goodness...." Eyes watering, she fanned the air and shook Vilia loose. Miffed, the little ghost hovered close to the floor, but looked up almost sulkily at the other two.
"Yes, though, I would say yours is a bit more pleasant than mine. I apologize for the smell. She does that when she's upset." And she wasn't upset as much but....ugh. It was AWFUL.

Taylor's eyes teared, and she clapped her hands to her nose, doing her very best not to breathe. What the hell was that? It smelled like something had died, decomposed into dirt, and grown one of those horrendously smelly fly-attracting plants, all in under two seconds.
"Did your-" It was awfully hard to speak without taking in air, and it was one of those smells you could practically taste- "Your ghost does that? What kind of thing is it?"
Ako, who as a ghost apparently had no sense of smell, floated closer to Vilia, moving very cautiously. "This one's nice," Taylor explained through her hands, "but he - I think it's a he- does wierd things too. Sucks people's energy. But he's only done it once."
Which was a very, very good thing in Taylor's opinion. Bad smells were nothing next to having the very energy drained from your body.

Chuckling a bit, Ness gestured at the little greyish ghost at her feet. "I think that's all she does so far. She's a Stormwing, so I think she's going to be a scary little critter. But yes. She does that. I wish she wouldn't." Coughing a bit, Nessalyn gestured that they should walk to another area of the store and let the air clear a bit.
"Has that one stolen your energy yet?" That was something the woman had heard of. There was a certain race of people that did that somewhere around the moons of Utana. But it was taboo to do it without permission.
"So you've been to the wand shop, eh?"

Noticing the gesture, Taylor gratefully grabbed her chosen CDs and set off towards the other side of the store, where the air was hopefully much cleaner. The cashier was giving the two a few dirty looks, but Taylor did her best to ignore them.
"Stormwing? Never heard of it... but it sounds scary, just from the name." She gave the ghost a cautious look, but except for the smell, she couldn't see anything dangerous about it. Then again, nearly every animal started out cute and innnocent, so these things should be no different.
"This one only took my energy once, when he showed up for the first time. Came out of the wand, like." In her head, the crimson ghost cooed softly, as if he knew he was being discussed. "Apparently he's a psionic vampire... lives off of energy, not blood."
"And yeah. Been to the wand shop, twice. First time, a cute little girl gave me the wand. Second time, me and a shitload of other people got catapaulted into an alternate dimension and stuff tried to kill us." She shuddered involuntarily, thinking about the experience.
