NEW THREAD: HERE[CLOSED AND MOVED] The Four ElementsIntro:There is a great war in the land of Th'estal. Th'estal is a magical world full of enchantment, battle, adventure, and many, many creatures. The war is a Battle of the Four Elements. Fire, Water, Earth, and Air are all fighting eachother...though there are some peacful people who don't believe in fighting, or neutral mercenaries who are traitors to both sides. The war in Th'estal has been going on for 20 years, and will probably last longer...
What will you do?

RULES
[1] Follow all Guild Rules. [2] Be sure to PM the forms to me! [3] Be active...this means RPing fairly often. [4] No Godmodding! [5] My word is law, because I am the Creator of this RP. [6] You can RP up to 3 characters total - 1 pre-made and 2 made-ups. [7] There are some circumstances that you may be able to vaguely RP a character that is not yours, if it is not taken yet. (only the made-ups). Check out the first announcement; that's a good example of this rule. But please ask my permission first. [8] If your character has a "pet"/"loyal animal," you can mention it in the "Other" section. But, this animal DOES NOT count as an additional character. Nonetheless, I don't want you to go out and make 10 pets just so you can have more characters. One or two pets will be fine though. Of course, you may have zero if you prefer. [9] All these rules can be changed, edited, added to, or deleted by me.

Each character can only have the power over 1 element. The "special power" is very limited, and cannot be something related to the elements. The "race" can be nearly anything! Elves, humans, half-breeds, demons...whatever you can dream up! And then "status" is like if you are part of the war, against it, peaceful, etc. The "Class" is like a "job" or "occupation." Ex. warrior, healer, peasant, knight, sorceress, wizardCharacter Form:
Username: Character Name: Race: Age: Element: Status: Class: Appearance: Personality: Bio: Special Powers: Other:

Character ProfilesMy characters: Username: Otulissa Character Name: Phillippa Race: Human Age: 16 Element: Fire Status: Participating in the Great War Class: Princess; the Fire King and Queen's daughter Appearance: Personality: Phillippa is a very kind and sweet lady...but she is participating in the war faithfully. If she was not the princess, she would probably not want to fight. Phillippa is the princess, and therefore has to do as her parents want her to do. If she were not royalty, she would probably be a very peaceful Outcast. But, her destiny as Princess is sure as fire. She never really liked change, too. Bio: What more can I say? She is the Fire Princess, and a very happy daughter of the King and Queen. She is loved by all the Fire tribesmen and tribeswomen, and hated by most of the Water tribespeople, Earth tribespeople, and Air tribespeople. She was raised very properly, and was taught to hate the other elements. She grew up thinking fire was the only "true" element. She was born and raised in the city of Kunchi, where the Fire King and Queen lived. The town of Toolm is their "second home." Phillippa has only been to North Th'estal and West Th'estal. But, that is probably going to change... Special Powers: She can talk to animals, and she can fly by shooting fire out of her feet (kind of like a rocket). Her way of flight is unique, and not many other Fire people can do that. Also, Phillippa can use Light magic, along with her Fire elemetal magic. Other: Her nickname is Pippa. She has a pet Fire Phoenix named Lena. Lena, her phoenix, is very loyal to Pippa. They have a very strong bond. Also, she always has a sword by her waist.Username: Otulissa Character Name: Sta'klia Race: Half Elf, Half Human Age: 19 Element: Fire Status: Peaceful Outcast/Against War Class: Healer/Mage Appearance: The only thing different from this picture is that Sta'klia usually wears a black cape. Personality: Sta'klia is very peaceful, and kind-hearted. She is generally happy-go-lucky, but very quiet and doesn't talk much. She is very secretive, too. Bio: She carries no weapons with her, since she is a very peaceful lady. Of course, she always has her elemental powers with her if she has to fight in order to defend herself. Although she carries no weapons, she does carry a bag of useful herbs for healing. She tends to heal people she meets or sees...whether they are of the element Fire or not. She sometimes enters fire cities, and people do not mind her walking about since she wears a cape that hides most of her face. Nobody really recognizes her, and she has no friends...yet. But, Sta'klia prefers living along borderlines of cities, or in peaceful cities. She was an orphan since she was a very young child - around 6 or 7 - and has lived as an Outcast ever since. Special Powers: Moderate healing powers, the ability of teleportation, and the ability to shape-shift into an animal - a peregrine falcon. Other: [none whatsoever] Username: 13DarkAngel13 Character Name: Avluela Race: Night Elf (Royal decree of elves) Age: 19 Element: Earth Status: At War Class: Warrior/Enchanted Archer (Close range double wrist-blades, long range enchanted arrows) Appearance:http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d8/FuzzheadsAngel/female_elf.jpg Personality: She's tough and chooses to prove herself worthy in battle. She strives at every moment to prove that she's better than any male and doesn't need them, although stubborn and needs them more than she thinks. She's calm and doesn't anger, rarely talks unless it is to say something profound or witty. Bio: Born and raised to be a warrior, Avluela spent most of her time training as a child. This strict training has made her the most valued warrior of the ancient bloodline (Night elf) which has been said to possess certain powers and abilities such as herbology and forest creature summons. Special Powers: Enchanted arrows, siren song, low level herbology and small creature summons (limit of 2). Other: She owns Corvin, one of the last surviving Roc (the only known creature that can lift an elephant's weight in its talons and still fly due to its size).Username: reiyo_oki Character Name: Qin'Tiqarah Race: Aelfinn Age: Unknown Element: Air Status: Participating in the great war from the shadows Class: Assassin Appearance: Half fox, half human, Qin'Tiqarah stands at about 5'6", and shows distinctive animalistic traits such as yellow eyes, pointed teeth and ears, and an elongated face. Though still primarily human in nature. Typically he wears clothes form-fitted to himself made of a conspicuous light colored leather. Some say it's made of the skin of his marks. Personality: Qin'Tiquarah is reclusive and quiet, typically a loner, he avoids most contact with others, but can be won over if the circumstances are right. Bio: Stranded in this world by an odd happenstance, Qin'Tiqarah remembers little but a longing to return to his own home. He makes his living here by working as an assassin, for those who can afford his price. It is whispered that those who haven't paid him are oft tracked down and have the price stripped from them; The means, though, is kept silent. Special Powers: He can blend himself with his surroundings by drawing air around him to change the way light is reflected. This is why he is so feared as an assassin Other: His only weapons are his hands and feet, he despises the use of armaments, saying they are for the weak of mind and body. Username: pixie_dust_901 Character Name: Lyssa Race: human Age: 17 Element: Water Status: Some doubts, but is willing to fight for freedom Class: sorceress/healer-in-training Appearance: She has wavy hair in light shades of brown, usually in a braid hanging to the middle of her back with chin-length bangs and eyes the color of the ocean on a clear day. Her sensitive features make her appear younger than her age and she is often mistaken for a young girl. Personality: A little irritable sometimes, but fun-loving and teasing in nature. She’s silly, but serious when called for. Sensitive and hard-working, she's a bit of a smart aleck sometimes and she loves to joke around. Bio: Coming from an average family, Lyssa is just trying to make her way through life in one piece. She's not very social and has few friends, but she's very attached to the ones she has. She has a few doubts about the war and has taken up lessons in healing as a way of helping her deal with the killing. She doesn’t seem to have any motive to move up in ranks since she likes things as they are and tends to be lazy in order to avoid being promoted. Special Powers: shape-shifting, healing (explained further in “Other”) Other: She can be a little girly sometimes, but usually she prefers a slit skirt over comfortable pants and a shirt. She also has a pet kitten that is glued to her most of the time and is able to speak to Lyssa through thoughts. The kitten is gray and fuzzy, and her name is Tig. Her shape-shifting powers are limited to the color of her hair, eyes, etc., and is used with the sole purpose of disguise. Also, she can only heal scrapes, bruises and some minor cuts and infections. Username: Da_Black_Knight Character Name: Sir Ivan Race: Human Age: 28-ish Element: Earth Status: Well i dunno, maybe its the armor, or the sword, (i cant tell which) but i'd say this guy's pretty much all-for the war. wouldn't want to be out of a job! Class: hm, Knight?! Appearance: (Pic taken from the awesome coverart to the "Heroes of Might and Magic 5" game. i aspire to this dude's artistic skill!) Personality and Bio: He has his quiet moments, like the rest of us, but let's just say he's a bit... uppity. You know, kinda likes a fight every now and then, just to liven up the monotony of it all. He has been undyingly loyal to the Earth monarchs, and is well trusted (and feared) throughout the lands. He's got more than his fair share of wealth, which he invests wisely in good armor and down-right awesome weapons. He's not the type of dude you'd want to mess with in a tavern, because when drunk and aggrivated, he'll put you back a couple of weeks. Lugging around all that armor takes its toll, though. He has built up fanatical stamina and unreal strength, so don't get in a wreslting match with him either- especially without his armor on, which seems to (NOTE: "seems to") double his strength! Not too big on the whole HUNTING thing, he figures he hunts men and outsiders enough, he doesn't need to add a deer or boar to the tally! ^_^ does enjoy the occasional feast, however. who doesn't like BBQ'd pork? haha... sweatdrop Special Powers: --- MAGIC IS NOT HIS STRONG-POINT!-- best in a massive brawl, he has no finnese whatsoever. He's like the opposite of a ninja! ninja Can draw strength from the earth itself to make it through a pinch or gain ungodly strenght (WARNING! He is left highly vulnurable after he does this, as it taxes his body's stamina to the limit!!)-- likes to grow his own food with limited magic (magic and spellweaving never was his strongpoint, that's why he's a knight!) Other: He has a faithful Horse, Bajdraur. This is a massive horse, cuz its gotta carry a massive dude. Only the best! wink Horse cannot talk (creepy....) but nonetheless portrays its feeling on certain subjects by either being an a** (not moving at all, pun intended) or leaping forward and neighing wildly (in agreement). Prety much what most horses do, unless you find one that's in a coma.

ANNOUNCEMENTS7/8 -- NEW THREAD: HERE[CLOSED AND MOVED] 5/15 -- Zanarkand416 will not be RPing with us any longer, because he is having trouble with problems in his life. He may choose to join us in the RP later. For now, I will start over Pippa too. 5/12 -- Zanarkand416 seems to be inactive and his last login was April 30th as of today. I really want to be moving this RP along, so my character will supposedly be starting over, like starting fresh. By the way, I am only starting over Sta'klia -- so I have something to do while waiting. 4/16 -- zanarkand416 and I will temporarily RP the Queen vaguely until someone else takes up her part. This is only because the Queen is dining with the princess and the King and it would be awkward for her to not do anything.

The Land of Th'estal!
The country of Th'estal consists of 4 "areas."
North Th'estal
North Th'estal is an area of Th'estal with many, many big cities. Since this roleplay takes place in medieval-like times, these "cities" won't have skyscrapers. Instead, there are many brick and stone buildings, along with Shoppes and street vendors. Some of these cities are Baim, Sorresta, and Jakku. None of these 3 cities are specified for only one element. These cities are rather peaceful, and are where people come to shop and trade...without fighting. But, there are cities that are specified for their element ONLY. The major elemental cities in North Th'estal are: -Munt: Earth -Talviora: Air -W'liss: Water -Kunchi: Fire
South Th'estal
South Th'estal is mainly arid deserts. The 2 deserts in South Th'estal are the J'also and the Komphall. There aren't many cities in South Th'estal, but there are villages and towns where ever there are oases. Many, many people go to the oases to drink water and trade. There are different oases specified for different elements. If you enter the wrong oasis...I do not need to say more. There are a few oases that are peaceful, though. The two peaceful oases are Gholann and Bhrut'ell.
East Th'estal
East Th'estal is mostly forests and lakes. It is a very beautiful area if Th'estal and is considered a great place to go and relax. The most famous lake is Lake Egil'ol - the biggest lake in Th'estal. Lake Egil'ol resides in East Th'estal and has a very diverse assortment of underwater-life. It is a freshwater lake, and most of the lakes are freshwater. There is one saltwater lake though. It is also in East Th'estal, and is the second biggest lake. It is called Lake Zaet. The forests of East Th'estal don't really go by any names, for it is like a continuous large forest. There are no towns or cities, though there are a few buildings here and there. But there are no tight-knit groups of houses. Loners usually favor this section of Th'estal since there are no towns.
West Th'estal
West Th'estal is the most fertile area of Th'estal! There are many farms here, and many elves like to come here to "acquaint" with magic and nature. There are a handful of rivers here, too. The 2 rivers that border this area are the Hrossig and the Cerea. There is also a mountain range and a few volcanoes. The mountain range in West Th'estal is called the Aestoolas. The 3 volcanoes in this region are: -Mt. Buswick -Mt. Siliku -Mt. Derung West Th'estal also has a few towns. The major elemental towns are: -Nosuum: Earth -Krastia: Air -T'siss: Water -Toolm: Fire The peaceful towns are Hrumph and Vrek.
The Never-Ending Ocean
The Never-Ending Ocean is the ocean that surrounds Th'estal on all four sides. Most people wouldn't dare try to set sail upon this ocean. Nobody knows anything about other countries or continents besides Th'estal. Anybody who has tried to set sail has never come back... Whether they died out at sea, got lost, disappeared, or lived somewhere else forever...nobody who has left Th'estal has ever come back. The beaches of Th'estal are very quaint, little places. Many Th'estalians are afraid of the Ocean, and don't find it pleasant at the beaches. The Ocean laps at the land, not bringing any clues to the land beyond except for some sea shells...

History of Th'estal
Th'estal's history is very vivid, and I cannot explain much of it...for it would take too long. Once upon a time, Th'estal was a country in which all 4 elements were peacefully together...working together to achieve great things, never doing anything mean to eachother. But one day the Water tribe attacked the Earth tribe for stealing the Water Tribe King's land. The Earth tribe got mad and told the Air tribe to join them in battle. They agreed, but the Fire tribe disagreed. The Fire and the Water tribes joined, and the Earth and the Air tribes joined. They fought a pretty short war that lasted about 2 years. But then, they stopped suddenly because the Water tribe accused the Fire tribe of betraying them, and the Earth tribe accused the Air tribe of the same thing. Then, that is when the current war began. Fire, Water, Earth, and Air all fought eachother. There were a few people who believed in peace though, and tried to not fight against other elements.

Government in Th'estal
There's a very strange type of government in Th'estal. There are 4 tribes: Water, Air, Earth, and Fire. Each tribe has a High King, and a High Queen. These Kings and Queens rule over the tribes. Of course, if you don't belong to one of these tribes because you are peaceful, or neutral. Then, you would be an Outcast from the tribe. People who are Outcasts are independent and follow no ruler. For those who do belong to one of the four tribes, you would follow the King or Queen's words faithfully...unless you are a traitor.
Currency/Trade
The money used in Th'estal is called "Chuklu." One chuklu would equal approximately one dollar. This money is used to buy things, obviously! But not many people have money because they make money mainly through trade.
Trade is only traded throughout the country of Th'estal. This is because, Th'estal is isolated in an almost never-ending ocean that surrounds it.

Pippa strolled through the cobblestone streets of Kunchi absentmindedly. The Fire Princess was headed toward her home in her family's elaborate palace as daylight melted into night. But, she wanted to stay out longer and watch the sun disappear across the horizon. So, she stalled time by walking around in circles. Pippa had always been fascinated by the sun's strong firey energy and how it made its entrance each morning and its exit each night. Pippa smiled to herself as she settled down on a bench, watching the majestic sunset. Soon, nothing but the sun's rays were left, and Pippa stayed and watched until the only source left of the sun was the hazy orange light. She sighed, and got up from the bench, slowly walking back to the palace. As she reached the gates of the wall, the guards bowed and opened up the gates, allowing her to pass. She said, "Thank you!" And then she made her way through to the palace garden, and the gates closed behind her. She walked up the garden path and entered the doorway to the interior of the palace.

Deep in what the ancient blood used to call Min'ethera, a sacred grove deep in East Th'estal, Avluela sat perched on a toadstool the size of a large boulder basking in the morning sun. A shadow blocked out the sun for a moment as Corvin swooped down into the clearing, his feathers ruffling as he closed his wings. She felt comforted by his presence as he came level with the spore, his green eyes piercing hers as their minds connected. "How was your hunt? Prosperous I'd hope", her voice echoed and reverberated in her own mind before she heard his reply, "Well, it's much easier without so many humans around to gawk," his voice was a deep bass but one of great knowledge of many things. "I'll just say that I will not go to bed hungry tonight". She stretched out, careful not to get too much exposure to the sun. One of the martens which frequent the grove jumped up onto Avluela's stomach, curling up and falling asleep. She traced his familiar markings and whispered its elven name "Gaelin..." After years and years of study and determination Avluela learned the words for everything in the elven language, Eremyc. This language combined with the appearance and mental connection, give the night elves the ability to speak with animals. She lifted the Gaelin off of her gently and rose from the toadstool; sliding off the edge and landing on the soft grass below. She turned back to the stem of the fungi where her bow and quiver lay. She picked up the quiver and quickly slung it onto her back, each arrow tipped with black swan feathers; a gift from the beautiful swan as she molted her winter feathers. Her bow was made of ivory which was inlaid with silver markings and runes which aid in the consumption of magic. Stringing the bow, she took aim at a target she had created outside the little cave, which harbored a healing spring, and fired. Hitting the target in the direct center, she seemed satisfied and smirked. Amongst the tall redwood of Min'etehera lay Avluela's treetop bungalow. Rope bridges connected each part to each different tree and each separate structure had a thatched roof. Similar structures were built at intervals along the forest's edge for nights when she'd like to keep watch. Through the ancient bloodlines Avluela had also acquired the ability to see in the dark, seeing as she was a night elf she hid well in the trees; her pale skin invisible in the moonlight. This skill had become very handy on this dark night as a stranger entered the forest...

The Interior of the Palace was very grand indeed! The walls were painted a deep, rustic red, and the carpeting upon the stairs and halls were bright red. There were paintings abound with images of fire, flames, and Fire Elementals! The chandeliers that hung from the tall ceiling were elegant and covered with a lot of lit up candlewicks. Pippa walked down the hallways, and then entered a room with a large, brick-red door. This room was the dining hall! She entered, and saw her father and mother there, sitting in throne dining seats. She took her place at a gold and gem-studded chair of the finest quality. This was not a banquet; just a normal supper for the royal family. It felt strange for the huge room to be looming over without many people in it.

Qin'Tiqarah slid easily amongst the trees, slipping from moonshadow to moonshadow with ease, never staying visible to most eyes for more than a brief moment. He had learned long ago that trees meant cover, which meant not being seen. And that, in turn, meant his job was that much easier. He wondered if he should have accepted this mark or not... He had never tried himself on the Dunmer before. Would he be able to do it? "Yesss, Calm yoursself, fool." His voice was a quiet hiss on the wind, inaudible to all but the sharpest ears from a few paces away.

Avluela watched cautiously as the stranger advanced into the forest, seeming not to walk but to float along. The stranger's fluid movements gave way to the fact that it was an air elemental. Knocking an arrow and aiming at the dark figure she prepared to fire, but just then she hears it "Yesss, Calm yoursself, fool.." Was this the stranger's voice that she could hear in her mind? Looking around she decided that it must've been and instead aims at a tree just in front of the stranger's path. She fires the arrow, which falls short of the figure's face by mere an inch, and dives back behind the tree trunk, darting between them, moving her position, and fires again, just infront of its face. The figure doesn't move or even turn, she anticipates that it's listening for her. She reaches out to touch its mind "I see you..." At this the air around the stranger seemed to shift as he disappeared.

Freezing as the arrow darted right before his eyes, Qin didn't move a muscle, but listened for movement. He could hear faint rustles as somebody darted about off in the distance. Bending the air around him, he made himself vanish to the normal eye. If this person could speak to him in his mind, though, that wouldn't do much. He looked at the arrow sticking from the tree trunk in front of him for a moment, then estimated where it had come from. With a silent grace, he slipped through the trees, heading in that direction.
