The entrance to this building is a small white room. Even the building looks small at first. It looks like it's maybe 25 feet wide. In the far right corner is a large tile that appears as if it can be lifted (beneath it is a set of white stairs heading to the secret lower level) Against the back wall is a large white desk and a black-haired woman dressed in white. She is smiling. This is Gina, the receptionist. She will direct the Substantia guardians to lower level.
The lower level is a place where Substantia and their guardians can meet and chat. There is an area for the younger Substantia containing toys and colouring books and crayons, and computers and video games (along with a television) for the adocelent Substantia. There is a bookcase filled with a various collection and two comfortable chairs on either side of it. In between them is a coffee table. The walls are white, and so is the limoleum floor, but there are carpets and colourful furniture decorating the room. (Picture soon)

It was with an uncharacteristic nervousness that Peter surveyed the entrance room, his eyes landing on the receptionist. He hadn't been expecting any of this, when he'd found that pot - hell, he hadn't even noticed the note on the back until he'd found Caius. The note had been sitting where the pot had been.
At least it didn't get 'changed' with the pot; he'd thrown it inside...it would have been a bit troublesome if the note had been absorbed by Caius.
Taking a breath to calm himself (and glancing down at the cheerful boy by his side), he stepped over to the receptionist.
"Hello...I received a - something, and there was a note that told me to come when anything changed..."
Glancing down again at Caius, who just grinned brightly back up at him, he gave a wry shrug to the receptionist.
"Well, something's changed."

Gina, the receptionist, quickly glanced at the child and then chuckled at the confused man. She studied the kid briefly, taking attention to the skin and clothing, then looked at the man again. Stepping out from behind her desk, she addressed him, "Come right this way, please." While it all would seem very odd to an adverage person, after your pot turns into a kid, Gina figured, nothing was that odd.
With clacking of her black high heels, Gina walked across the white linoleum floor to where there appeared to be a chamber. Before opening, she turned to the man again. "By the way, my name is Gina," she grinned, outstretching her hand warmly.

Peter was used to dealing with strange things, but never before had a kid grown out of a pot. Honestly, he supposed she should have expected something like this, sooner or later...
It was Gaia - things like this happened to people here all the time.
"I'm Dr. Peter Swann."
The title added to the front was more by instinct then anything else, used to just worrying about introducing himself at the hospital. He took the offered hand, manners taking precedent over his still-remaining confusion.
"An' I'm Caius!"
It was a sunny voice that popped from a lower vantage point, then. Caius seemed to have no fear of strangers, that was for sure.
"Ah...he didn't seem to have a name when I found him, so I took the liberty of naming him, myself."

Gina let her hand fall loosely back to her side, and tilted her head at Peter. "Doctor, eh, we got a couple of those here," she smiled, hoping she hadn't confused him too much. And then the kid spoke. He had a high-pitched voice, a boy who wasn't a man yet, and a cheerful disposition. Gina knelt down and grinned at him. "Hey there Caius."
Brushing her dress off, the receptionist stood up. "People usually do name them, and the names are always suiting. Roman," she nodded, "Anways, shall we go?" Getting down on her knees, Gina grabbed the two handles on what appeared to be a trap door of sorts. With a grunt, she hoisted up the door and then pushed it. With a bang, it landed on the other side.
After the door was gone, a white staircase lined with flickering lights was revealed. Gina started walking down.

For a moment, Peter tensed himself for some mysterious, magical room -
And there was a staircase. Oh joy.
Sheepishly, he began after Gina, with Caius. This was getting pretty strange, but perhaps he shouldn't expect the extraordinarily strange, just yet...after all, he didn't know anything about this.
"So...what exacting is here?"
There were doctors...that could mean a number of things.
"And where are we going, anyway?"

Gina didn't notice that Peter was dissapointed by the staircase, but rather led the two boys down the set of sixteen stairs. "Here we are!"
At the bottom was a large room, about as big as a basketball court. There were decorations of many sorts, all of which looked rather expensive. "Hmm," she studied the pair again, "Well this is Imperium, as you may have noticed, and we study Rome." She giggled, "Why don't I have a doctor come in and talk to you. The doctors are sorts of archeologists, but they will want to inspect Caius and such. Check his health and whatnot."
Striding over to the door, Gina pulled a silver key from her dress pocket and unlocked another white door. "Be right back!" she called to them. She slipped behind it, closed and relocked it, leaving Peter and Caius alone to enjoy the room for a few minutes.

"Ooooh - it's big!"
Peter agreed with Caius' sentiment, watching the boy as he ran from one little thing to the next. And with the grin threatening to explode across his face, he gave in and chuckled; it reminded him of when a puppy was being first acquainted with new surroundings; they had to smell everything.
Except, of course, Caius was looking rather then smelling.
Although, taking a subtle sniff of the air, he decided that they must have something scented in here. The air smelled just slightly of some sort of pouperri, or something like that. Or he could be imagining things.
Hm. Was there a specific name for hallucinations of smell? He'd have to look that up...

A few minutes later, there was a click, the sound of a key opening a door. A stout male doctor emerged from behind the door. His gray hair was slicked back and his brown eyes were large and a little bloodshot. He was smiling, in a hospitable way. "Hello there!" he said, walking over to the pair and looking down at his clipboard, "You must be Peter and Caius. I'm Dr. Bellaro and I'll be checking out Caius today." Not paying much attention to Peter, the doctor got down on one knee to be eye level with Caius.
Dr. Bellaro looked at his eyes, and quickly lifted the lid to see further, then marked something on the clipboard. He took a light and looked in his ears and down his throat, then made another mark. Feeling his lymph nodes he made another mark. "Okay Caius, I'm going to have to pull a strand of your hair. This might hurt a little," he said and found a strand of hair. He gave a light tug and it came out. He cliped it to the clipboard, and marked another thing.
Continuing his investigation, the doctor took the length of his arms and legs, looked carefully over his skin, took his pulse and blood pressure. He listened to his breath, and then stood up again. Having marked everything on his clipboard, he turned to Peter. "Alright, so here's the deal. Caius is completely healthy, but I am going to need you to bring him back whenever something changed," he nodded, then continued, "You may go home now, through the way you came in, but feel free to come back anytime. Gina can direct you to this room again." Dr. Bellaro promptly left.

After the doctor left, Peter was even more confused; what on earth was going on? He was beginning to feel a bit...unsettled, about this place. Why had they given him that pot - and why had the pot turned into Caius?
And where was Gina? Maybe she could answer his questions, although the only thing she had told him so far, was what he could have deduced himself: they sent him a Roman pot, after all.
While the whole situation was beginning to unnerve Peter, it didn't seem to bother Caius at all.
They waited for a few moments.
((If you'd like for Gina to not come back, they'll just leave xDD ~ no need to rp it if so; we'll be fine then.))

Gina clacked back into the room. She smiled nervously. "Well, Caius got a good report," she said. She hated when people tried to ask questions, and she knew Peter was going to. People were to curious. They should mind their own business. On the outside, Gina was fake. She seemed always happy and polite. On the inside, though, she just wanted him to get the hell out of here. But her job was to be polite.
"You look a little confused," she pointed out, grimacing in her mind. If Peter was going to be bringing Caius back, he would have to know a little about Imperium at least. "Imperium is based from archeology sites in Rome. We take back only the most special of the objects with something called an Animus. That is a sort of spirit. We call these objects Substantia," she paused, trying not to disclose too much information, "We are doing research on what they are and how it is possible that these Substantia have well... become what they are."
She didn't mention the fact that these Substantia also held the secrets to the downfall of the Roman Empire.
They were the keys to the past, and Imperium was opening the doors.

Peter nodded, accepting what she had said; it rang true, to him. But he was still having some doubts about the whole thing...because as much as it seemed legitimate, there were some things that seemed off.
"..who's funding you? Research like this must be expensive."
Or, you know, the decorations being so expensive looking. He knew that in some cases, the archaeologists in question could very well be rich - but it looked to him like there was a lot of money in this place.
But then, if it was something shady, why pick him?

"Generous donations," Gina said bluntly, not providing any details. "I really must get back to work," she was obviously flustered.
Questions. Questions. Questions. Where do they stop? The easiest way to get out of it was just to leave.
She smiled at the pair, then hurried back over to the locked door. Unlocking it, she once again slipped behind...

Feeling more suspicious then ever, Peter took this as a sign to leave; whatever the case, he had to take care of Caius now. He'd just also keep an eye on this place.
So, after making sure Caius was following, he left.
((Woo~ heart ))

Later...
Yaria was not in the mood to deal with anything like this. Coming in to check over the bar, to wait for the stocks to arrive and to reprimand the new help for forgetting to put away the milk-- well, there had been lots to do on that list, and now Yaria had to push it all away. Push, because of the little girl she had found sitting on her bar counter where the earrings were supposed to be.
Needless to say she hadn't been stupid enough to consider the girl a runway. A thief, even, but it hadn't occurred to her that the girl might be the earrings either.
Yaria didn't have time for this.
"Ouch."
As they entered the building, Lucia frowned, slipping her hand away from Yaria's and rubbing it against her skirt. Her guardian had caused that little shock pop of electricity again, and while it didn't hurt, the sensation was uncomfortable.
"Sorry." came the immediate answer, and Yaria frowned. Well, better to get this over and done with.
"Excuse me." she called out. "I was given this address in case anything weird happened." her gaze slid to Lucia.
Yeah. This definitly counted as weird.
