The History of Xylaejan Cities

Riku-Tai
This town was established long ago by farmers and millers, creating a small town that thrived for several decades. During the first waves of war between Xylaeja and Netiak, it was decimated as the Xylaejan forces pushed back their attackers. The survivors began to rebuild their town soon after the war was thought to be finished, but a sudden assault from their antagonists caught them offguard, in which many cities were decimated, including Riku-Tai. Taken back once more, the town was rebuilt, and a stone fortification was erected around the town. Soon, it became a military headquarters, and then became the capitol of Xylaeja after another onslaught by the Netiakans destroyed the original capitol. The current inhabitants are military officers and political leaders, who lead the campaign against Netiak's invading troops.

Jyrounin
Home to the aristocracy of Xylaeja, Jyrounin was built to be the sparkle of the nation. Crafted of the most precious metals and gems, the city shines brightly and beautifully, belying its corrupted nature. The corruption began with greedy officials, who have ventured into the underworld of the kingdom to gain profit by selling secrets and technology. Currently filled with thugs, lords of the underworld organizations, and rich aristocrats, the game in Jyrounin is politics.

Fui'Ren
A town thriving with successful and masterful blacksmiths, Fui'Ren is the main provider of arms and armor for the Xylaejan army, despite their dedicated stand against the harsh draft instituted by the Riku-Taian officials. Along with amazing blacksmiths, Fui'Ren is home to many deadly warriors, eager to teach younger generations their arts. Despite their incredible abilities and teaching methods, most soldiers are trained at run-of-the-mill academies in larger towns, which is part of the problem with the Xylaejan army.

Erokio
The small outpost town of Erokio is located in the northern extremes of the continent. It is filled with many mighty warriors, who watch day and night over the mountainous border that Xylaeja shares with Netiak. It is the soldiers of this towns' responsibility to ensure that the Xylaejan army is notified of a pending invasion, as well as their task to fight the invaders off valiantly, should they approach.

Ailerion
A nameless town, dubbed "Ailerion" due to its founder. Nothing more than piles of warm ash now, it is awash in blood and dead bodies, a victim of a sneak assault by a neighboring group of towns. The founder, Ailerion, has abandoned the remains, in order to exact vengeance.

Legends and Tales of Xylaeja

Riku-Tai
Over twenty-five years ago, a nameless warrior appeared in the town of Riku-Tai, shortly before Netiak invaded for the second time. He was ushered into their town, gleaming in white armor. Two days after his arrival, the respected warrior began to fight the swarms of Netiak rogues that assaulted the town. He singlehandedly held them at bay, until the Xylaejan army attacked. He was revered for his prowess with his glowing spear, and a young woman from the town left with him. It was rumored that they left to Jyrounin, but that the girl had died giving birth, and that the warrior had traveled to the western continent of Orayu.

Jyrounin
There are few legends from Jyrounin, and the only tale is that of the holy knight who made his home here briefly.

Fui'Ren
Fui'Ren's most well-known legend is of a holy blade known as the "Rengetsurin." The fabled sword was said to be made from the greatest blacksmith the world had ever known, but neither the blacksmith nor the sword were ever seen, and it is widely believed to be nothing more than just legend.

The History of Orayun Cities/Kingdoms

Danndrin
Called the "Angelic Kingdom" by all other countries and kingdoms, Danndrin is home to much corruption. Known widely for its beauty, the buildings of the city are made of white marble and accented with gold throughout. Several holy knights have lived in this town, despite the corrupted government. In fact, long ago, an order of these knights existed to fight off invaders and threats, but was destroyed due to the greed of the government officials. For the past four and a half decades, Danndrin has been waging bloody war with the kingdom of Regalia, using their larger numbers and greater economy to slowly destroy their rival.

Regalia
The rival nation of Danndrin, Regalia is the opposite of Danndrin. Thought by outsiders to be an evil kingdom due to its black marble buildings and dark gem accents. Regalia is a just and righteous kingdom, who is trying to destroy the evil Danndrin empire. Their warriors are unequaled in their continent, and possess skills rivaling the elite heroes of legends. Their numbers have dwindled in the past decades, bringing them to the losing side of the war with Danndrin.

Raiem
The smallest nation in Orayu, Raiem is home to many holy orders of monks. They send their missionaries all over the world, to bring hope and peace to the Lyrantheans. They consider all people to be equals before their God, and wish to share in happiness with their worldly brothers.

Nei'Ryu
The sectioned town of Nei'Ryu is the most religious-oriented nation in Orayu. Their people live in constant peace, and spread the word of their God, the same as that of Raiem. They choose not to send missionaries around the world, as they feel it is an invasion, but spread the word by word-of-mouth.

Legends and Tales of Orayu

Danndrin
Danndrin's legends and tales are spun from centuries of growth, from its start as a small village and gradual growth into an expansive empire. Their original knighthood was composed of Dragonriders, who flew the skies and protected the kingdom. Soon disbanded due to inner conflict, they were reorganized as a holy knight order, from which hundreds of revered warriors emerged.
The most well-known tale is that of Acheron, the Brilliant, and his allies. He and his band of five holy knights came upon a network of caves near the Danndrin kingdom during a patrol, which upon inspection, was found to be inhabited by mutated animals. As soon as they laid eyes upon the monsters, the creatures began an unrelenting assault against them, and after their retreat, the kingdom of Danndrin. They regrouped, and counterattacked, successfully slaying the awoken beasts. Not a man among them suffered a scratch against the more than two-thousand monsters, and they were forever remembered, despite their pleadings that they did only as they were bound by honor to do.

Regalia
Few tales have been spun from Regalia, save her children of light, the "Chosen ones." Three children who never awoke from their birthnight, triplets of a devoutly religious woman. They spoke in their sleep, prophecies of the future, foretelling of many terrible occurences, allowing Regalia to avoid disaster throughout their lives. With their death came a wave of grief throughout the nation..

Raiem and Nei'Ryu
Raiem's only exploit is its holy order, which is matched by Nei'Ryu. But, Nei'Ryu has one important tale to speak of.
One night, some years ago, a girl was born, who shone brightly in the dark of night. Her holy powers were incredible, even by Nei'Ryu's high standards. She was raised in the holy order, and trained to become a priestess. She was visited one fateful night by an angel, Michael, who foretold of her future birth. She assured the archangel that his prediction was wrong, as she'd vowed chastity, but nine months to the day of his arrival, she bore a son, named Deacon Saint. Said to be of an angel, his body was filled with the holy spirit of what is believed to be God.

The History and Tales of Solace

Solace is an island about the size of Ireland. To the east is an island about the size of Jamaica where Dayna was taken to. To the west is Xylaeja.

Narthan is located in the middle of Solace. It's a farming city, usually peaceful. The people believed in a god and goddess, Dahr and Methalia. They were believed to have created the world. Methalia was seen as the mother of the original people. The North part of Solace was made of warriors, who fought each other when nothing was going on. The South half held the farmers of the land. A small government ran Solace but was easily corrupted by the men of the north side.

The name of the island Dayna was taken to is unknown, and was uncharted by the outside world. Travelers knew of it but it was believed to be haunted. Fearing the unknown powers of the island, the people of Northern Solace attacked it.

The elven city was called just that. It's name is unpronouncable by anyone that isn't elven. It's located on the southern tip of Solace, surrounded by trees so most may not enter. They believe in only one god, also with an elven name.
