Well.... there's a highway near my house && lots of people's dogs have been getting hit. The animal control isn't helping && the dogs are afraid of humans, I'd know because I've tried to save at least 4 of them.
I don't know what to do...
Any advice?

Is there a SPCA in your town? Maybe try to ask them for help or get a the help of local citizens.

Is there any way that you could the city to give you a permit to put a fence the most dangerous parts of the highway? If not I would try to get some other ppl together and try to get animal control to help or like it was mentioned before, the SPCA. 3nodding
Also try the police or the fireppl. They can try to help you round up the dogs when they start toward the highway. Other than that theres not really that much you can do, except to try to make "friends" with the dogs and try to keep them from the highway.

That's the problem.
A lot of ppl leave food out && try to get close to the dogs && they run away!
I haven't seen any around the highway lately though.
Just turtles. :]
But they don't run away.

1) do they belong 2 sum one? cuz mayb they can control it
2) have u tried calling the animal control?
3) y dont u look up how to get the dog to come closer n not b afraid i know u need to let it sniff ur hand ... but thats bout it ><

Take it from someone who has been attacked and has a scar underneath my lip from it. You need to let the professionals handle it because they are specifically trained to do that stuff and they are at far less risk of getting hurt.

The dogs are terrified of humans, and I'm afraid they've been abused.
The animal patrol won't do anything, but set traps and that hasn't worked so far.
They have no collars, and they just roam around, sometimes they dissapear for a few days into the woods, or they go out on the highway.

A cookie usually works to tame any dog (or so I'd hope) U could try to stay far enuf back so not to scare them off, and hold out the cookie to them. Then try and soothingly talk them over to u.
If this doesn't work then I'm sorry and hope the other dogs learn to stay far away from the road or the SPCA will help. 3nodding
