Roleplay
The First Thing: Maybe you've just received your Substantia (or package). You will get a journal along with receiving this item. What's going to happen is the mule, ImperiumBC, will make a entry in your journal after you've given us the heads up that you're done setting up (you'll get a link to your journal and we want you to set it up ASAP and them PM ImperiumBC as soon as you have all the posts you want- just reserve them please). This entery will be all the details on the receiving of your package containing your Substantia in the first stage, the item. It will be left on your doorstep along with a note on top of it. So just remember inside the package is your item. You will feel 'attatched' to the item and will put it somewhere close to you. The note contains some instructions for later. IC wise: you will know NOTHING about Substantia. Which means you do not know the other owners unless you were friends before you got your items. You will have no idea what is going on until you go to Imperium after your Substantia turns into an actual child.
General Roleplaying: To take good care of your child you must RP at least twice biweekly. This means in the time span of each two weeks you must do two RP-related things with your Substantia. To help you child grow, though, we suggest you do more than that. :3 What counts as a RP-related thing? Making a journal entry. Doing a group RP. Having a play-date. Those all count as RP-related things. Read the rules on the next post before doing anything, though.
Journals: On the first page of your journal you have the optional choice of reserving a few posts for your child. Here you can put photographs, detailed information on your Substantia and the family, maybe a toybox. Things like that. After those posts will be ImperiumBC's post with the "leaving of the package" on your doorstep (see "The First Thing"). After that you can begin to make journal entries. There are three kinds of entries: one, diary-like entry; two, RP entry; three, play-dates. The diary-like ones are just like you would think. You have the whole 'mm/dd/yy dear diary, blah blah blah love, yourmom' thing. As if you (the guardian) were writing an entry. Or maybe as your Substantia gets older you can have them write their own diary. Then there's the RPs. It's like a story. You write something that happens with your Substantia as if it were a prompt. There will be no other guardians involved, and it will be only people you play. Last there are play-dates. You can invite another guardian and their Substantia over to your "house" to hang out for awhile. Basically it's like a normal RP between two people. Whosever journal this happens in is whos "house" it will happen at. Maybe you will write a diary entry about it afterwards XD.
Group Roleplays: Group roleplays happen in the RP section of the guild. There will be specific threads marked off such as "the park" or "Imperium HQ". There will be set dates for group RPs to happen, such as a holiday or another special event, or you can get together a group of guardians just to have a nice day at the park. Also read more about the Imperium HQ which will come in handy later on (see "Imperium HQ"). So group RPs are pretty simple. Once again, you can make a diary entry about the group RP afterwards and it will count as a second RP-related thing.
Misc. Roleplaying: If you RP your Substantia outside of Gaia sometimes with another guardian or with one of your friends (like on AIM or MSN Messenger) just PM the conversation to ImperiumBC and we'll look over it and get back to you on if it counts as credit or not. Remember, you don't get credit unless you PM it to us!
Imperium HQ: Imperium HQ, or IHQ, is where you get (IC wise) a lot of the information on your Substantia. After your Substantia becomes a child at first, you will be directed by the note you get to take them to IHQ. Remember on the first post of the main thread how it describes this place as a small white room? Well that's where you'll be going. The receptionist will check to make sure you are all valid and stuff and you will be given access to a special room all set up for the guardians to hang out in. Group RPs can happen here. But how come it seems like the receptionist is the only one who works there? Hmm... Something fishy is going on. Are those security cameras at the corners of the room? Or are they watching you? But the receptionist seems nice enough. She will answer anything you'd like, except about the organization...
