"Ailurinae..."
"You see the thing is..." The Emperor released an irritated snort and stomped his painted hoof against the forest floor. Having been holed up in this god forsaken area for so long he was beginning to lose the ability to think coherently. Not that he didn't enjoy the shade but the lack of company was simply - bleh. Having little to know intellectual conversation did that to a stallion but it also gave him a chance to think.
...Gave his little angels and devils a chance to return as well. The result being somewhat catastrophic to perhaps everything he had found in the last few months within the Kawani lands. Ultimately, he had come to the conclusion that given the current circumstances it was time he confessed to at least the one soquili he actually respected.
But uh...how did you tell the mare you loved that you had mercilessly arranged for the slaughter of your sibling and father?
"Hey." He mused, half laughing at his own predicament. Admiring his reflection as he gave a shake on his mane and allowed the dew to burst from the delicate gold rings of his hair - most sane men wouldn't but then there was the chance that a certain chicken would tell her first...not a good thing really.

"What's so funny?" A delicate voice sounded from within the trees as Ailurinae caught the end of Paramekia's half-laugh. She had gathered over the last few months that her mate wasn't the laughing kind, and so she was quite curious as to what had caused him to change his ways, albeit briefly.
Smiling, she moved towards his side. With a gentle flick of her mane, she leaned her head into his neck, being careful (as always) not to nudge any of his golden accessories out of place. Despite all the compliments that Paramekia constantly rained down upon her, she still lacked the confidence to nuzzle him to death like she wanted to. And so, she remained dainty and careful, no different than how she was the first time they met.

His eyes widened a little and as a result he refrained from tilting his head for a few moments until he had recovered. Nevertheless, after he had recovered he afforded himself a slight smile and canted his head slightly against her. It was one of those rare occasions when he felt rather comfortable - unfortunately for him though, he was now plagued by that little angel on his shoulder that reminded him of a few things...
"Oh, just the predicaments I've gotten myself into." He replied at last, his response vague as he went over the lines in his head again. So far, none of his lines had been satisfactory and he found himself floundering. It was rare when he didn't know what to say, but then again it was rare that he was ever concerned about how someone might react to said words.
"Ailurinae..." He began at last, choosing to opt for the easiest starting point, "What would you say if I told you I was being hunted by an assassin...?" He enquired somewhat uncertainly, his ornaments releasing a slight c***k as he cast his eyes down on their reflection - they did make an awfully pretty couple.
