Throughout human history, there have been ages turned on the pivots of cataclysmic events.
The fulcrum of these events has always rested squarely on the shoulders of heroes and villains who rose from the ranks of the populace to become the Mythmakers.

Mythmakers are ordinary people who find that they can achieve things previously unheard of in their times (although not in mythology). They change with the ages, their attire and methods becoming appropriate to their time.
There are common archetypes throughout mythology; the handsome warrior/leader, the warrior woman from the wilds, the mythic blade, the enchanter and the guides along their journeys, as well as the villains who persue them.
They are re-born at the end of every age, in order to usher in the new times, sometimes the heroes win, sometimes they lose and humanity is forced to endure a time of despair and regression, such as what happened in the dark ages.
And, yep, you guessed it, now's the pivotal time. The battles are fought in the shadows, the mythic blade is now a humble carving knife in a shop, and the heroes are about to emerge.

Name: Robert Lochlan
Age: 22
Appearance: Tall-ish, with muscular arms and broad shoulders, but predisposed to an angular, slim build. He has black hair and light brown eyes, which seem almost gold in some lighting. His skin is sun-browned form long days spent wanderng, and he can usually be found wearing green clothing, with a green baseball hat. He generally has a long-cut jacket on as well, even in summer. He has a cherubic mouth and large, white teeth. His delicate hands have a surprising strength in them, and he can throw with a deadly accuracy. He can play a flute, and has a natural affinity with animals and children
(future) Weapon/s: Any projectile, gun, sling, and a small knife.
Archetype: The handsome champion of the oppressed and children. (Robin Hood, Pied Piper, Faramir, Orion, Socrates, Bes [Egyptian god-not handsome, but affiliated with children], Jack O'Neill)
Bio: From an upper-class background, Robert could always be seen at homeless shelters near his house from an early age helping out. As an only child, he inherited his all of his family's immense estate when they died.
At school, he was always one of the leaders, and often in trouble for breaking some kid's nose because said kid was giving the younger students a hard time. He never punched anyone, though-he always threw things at them.
Now, he has just returned from an humanitarian mission in the Third World for World Vision. He doesn't have a high-paying job, but lives fairy well off his family's estate and the modest, but very successful investments made with the money.

You want an archetype?

BWHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA.

Name: Alraune
Gender: Female
Archetype: The hanged man (I decide to operate outside the typical Jungian choices, you can find him in Christianity, Norse mythology, pretty much everywhere, so why not?)
Abilities: Knowledge and control of plants, especially trees. Also has amazing intelligence, although it's occasionally difficult to extract. Her other abilities rely entirely on sacrifice, and are therefore rarely used.
Appearance: Green skin and thick black hair, eyes the color of good soil. Has dirty fingernails and sharp features.
Items/weapons: Alraune carries very little, but she always has rope on her. Often wears colored rope around her neck and wrists, a sort of joke.
Bio: Alraune was born from the semen of hanged men under the gallows. Alchemists claimed that hanged men ejaculated after their necks were broken and that the earth asborbed their final "strengths". The root itself was used in love philtres and potions while its fruit was supposed to facilitate pregnancy. Witches who made love to the Mandrake root were however said to produce offspring which had no feelings of real love and had no soul. Whenever asked about the status of soul, or lack thereof, Alraune usually smiles and starts humming very loudly.

Pretty good-why not?
Just one tiny problem-the mythmakers rise from the people;so they're human, and green skin is kinda icky...
Unless she's a leper?

Alraune is an old myth, humans (yes, humans) born from the semen of hanged men at the gallows. I just read the german novel Alraune, and I was dying to put this into something.

But if it makes you feel better, go ahead, pretend she's a leper. But it's been too long since I had a deformed character gosh dang it, and boils are beginning to form.

I knew that, but the green skin isn't a blend-in able trait.
Leperousy isn't really that good either...
just normal skin with a greenish reflection? I wanted to do something similar with mine and give him gold eyes, but instead I made them a light brown

Name: Sameya Russell
Age: 20
Appearance: 5'8" and slender, Sameya looks relatively innocent with long, dark red hair and blue eyes framed by long lashes. She is often seen wearing her martial arts training gi, with her long hair tied back into a braid that never seems to stay a braid for long.
(future) Weapon/s: None
Archetype: The beautiful champion of the oppressed and women and children. [Female counterpart of Robert] (Tori Alexander, Emma (from White Tiger), Princess Leia, Mulan)
Bio: Sameya was learning martial arts almost as soon as she could walk, her mother paranoid about her daughter not being able to defend herself. It was soon found out that she was exceptionally talented, and the martial arts master began to give her extra training out of class. She won a nationals competition when she was eleven, but did not go into any more competitions after that, saying that they were largely a waste of time, prefering to simply continue her training. At the age of 15, Sameya moved to China, where she continued her martial arts training full-time, living with her older brother, Matt (20), who is a english teacher. By the time she was 18, Sameya was listed among the masters of martial arts, being the youngest to ever achieve such status.
She now teaches both a martial arts class for women and for children when she is not training.

Since Xela did Boadicea in Yr 11 history, it Probably is based on her, but its also by the sounds of it based on a character from The Dark Heavens series. Great series by the way. I will post a profile in here, when I get a chance ^^

She's a mixture of all of them. Tori Alexander is a martial artist who develops women's rights in ancient Briton, We all know who princess Leia is, Emma is a martial artist who protects a child in White Tiger, Boudicca is well, a warrior.

Kinda, yeah. The thing is, we can't know that we're different until we get called to our destinies (to use a very bad cliche).
Anyways, I'm going to start it off in my next post. And Leaf? A goddess to associate with could be Artemis or Mulan. Maybe even Sam Carter from Stargate if you want to go there.

There was a lot of washing up drying on the sink. To anyone who didn't know better, it appeared that a family lived here. In fact, the owner was just lazy when it came to house keeping.
Robert; not Rob, or Bob-Robert, walked away, leaving the washing up to dry in the sunlight streaming in through the window of his large, studio apartment.
He lived on Sherwood Street, a highly sought-after district but one which he could afford, the modest fortune left to him by his parents upon their deaths was enough to see him for life-the sale of is father's company had been the wisest decision he'd made for quite some time. In the long-term, it wasn't that good an idea, but for the short term? Well, it was less risky than keeping it; business in the computer market had always been risky ventures, as the technology changed not just daily, but hourly these days.

Sameya was already doing katas in the lounge room when her brother wandered in, his hair mussed from sleep. He grunted at her and made his way into the kitchen for what she knew was a cup of coffee. She finished the set she was doing, and wandered into the kitchen, grinning at her brother.
"Can you make me some, big brother?" she asked in a cheery voice. He simply glared at her, and went back to making his coffee. "I didn't think so."
Her brother was NOT a morning person. Sameya had been up since five, had gone for a run then had begun her workout for the morning. It was eight o'clock now, and she couldn't understand why her brother was always so grumpy in the morning.
