Velcomme.
A lot of Modists have expressed an interest in playing Dungeons and Dragons.
This is a good thing! But because the game requires a good deal of people, a lot of people are sketchy about starting a campaign.
But for those of you who aren't, I suggest using this thread to display interest in playing! :3
Current Campaigns:
The Whitefall Campaign- Run by Alliance SJR
Members: Kyraa, Icysnowgirl, Alexi Terianis, William Black, evilweevil, KijiLinn
Status: Full; In progress.
Meets: Thursday, 5-8pst
The Ezra-Muir Campaign- Run by Sir William Black
Members: Alliance SJR, Alexi Terianis, Ruevian, Gendou, evilweevil
Status: Full; Not Started
Meets: Unknown.

The URLs For the most part, the pioneer campaign (Whitefall) uses the following: An IM provide: AIM, MSN, Yahoo, or Trillian. I prefer Trillian, because it keeps a log of all the sessions, which can be really handy. http://www.systemreferencedocuments.org/35/sovelior_sage/home.htmlit has all of the basics of Dungeons and Dragons for people who have not played before. http://www.pathguy.com/cg35.htmThis is the best way to *make* your character. You put in the data, it comes out in a nice spreadsheet format. The Whitefall WikiThis is the way that the Whitefall campaign organizes. If you do not have a place to host a wiki, then livejournal would work just as well. Make a community, and then post the info in it. If you don't want to do all that, then everyone can save their changed characters on Microsoft Word or a similar program. We use a page because we like to look at other people's people. The ezra muir campaign is included in this Wiki because they are both set in the same world. Other things you may consider: Open RPG. Don't know much about it, but The Whitefall campaigns about to start using it. We'll keep you updated. If you have any questions, feel free to IM me at JS Kyra or saint_kyra@hotmail.com. You can be in multiple campaigns, if the campaign host will allow it. I'm not Wee Jass, so I can't tell you.

Well, TECHNICALLY the best way to roll a character is with actual dice in front of the DM.
However, we are limited by the technology at our disposal. One day, when holodeck-level tech become available, there will be DnD campaigns that will rival the platonic ideal of roleplaying.
And it will be badass.

Sir William Black Well, TECHNICALLY the best way to roll a character is with actual dice in front of the DM. However, we are limited by the technology at our disposal. One day, when holodeck-level tech become available, there will be DnD campaigns that will rival the platonic ideal of roleplaying. And it will be badass. It will. Who else is in your campaign?

I'm just putting out a general display of interest, for the talk of other campaigns that I saw bandied about while backthreading this evening: Will's, or Wong's, or Kiji's. While I am at the moment, much to busy to coordinate and dungeon-master, I would be interested in getting together with fellow modists for some enjoyable sessions, under anyone's campaign.

Also, perhaps if my summer is not as busy as this semester has been, I could consider attempting to craft a plot for something. One of my problem is lack of current sourcebooks. While I have a wealth of second edition (revised), I only have the PHB for the 3.5 version, which tends to make things quite difficult in terms of understanding current magic items, monsters, status ailments (fatigue in particular, seems ill-explained, as are a couple others), and just various bits of things that are good to be familiar with.

One thing that may be interesting is if we actually get a list of people who want to RP started up in here. I know I'm interested in as many campaigns as I can get my hands on. Balc seems interested, and Kia expressed an interest earlier.
How hard would it be to get a bunch of names, so that those who want to run these games can stop by and pick who they want in it, PM, and get going quickly?

The people I know if that haven't posted here yet I'll PM about it, and they're names will go in the reserved post. :3 People who HAVE posted here with an interest will also go there, along with a list of campaigns they're already in. I assume you want your name down?
