As the subject says, this technically isn't a txt tlk horror story, but I didn't see another section where this would fit.
I was reading this webcomic called "Least I Could Do". And, granted, it's a comic that revolves almost exclusively around sex. But, there was a strip that is surprisingly pertinent to this guild.

Ah yes. LICD's amazing powers on making us feel superior to the idiots of modern society. We can only pray that these idiots do not, under any circumstances, spawn children. If they do, the entire world might just be doomed. The Gaian Grammar Guild. The only thing standing between text talk and the modern world. And even here, we are being infiltrated.

Using highfalutin language tends to make idiots rather pissy, if nothing else... which is fun in and of itself! (*grins)
