What do people think of having irregular dipthong orthography to add variety to the language, such as using to represent /oI/ and to represent alongside their more standard orthography?

I'm sure it confuses many German-learners to see that eu is actually oi and Dutch-learners to see that ij is ei.
Totally phonetic conlangs are the norm. Why not go for something a little bit out of the norm? If people can learn that screwed up language we call French, they can definitely learn this.

I vote yes for irregular diphthongs. However, it should be clear when two vowels form a diphthong and when two vowels do not. For example... ei might always be a diphthong, but never io. As long as a newbie can remember the specific preset diphthongs, there shouldn't be much confusion.
