This is a list of topics I compiled from the old thread. *laughs* Some of them a little random, but they are all interesting. Topic date: July 7th-8th&15th 2004 Subject: TMNT EpisodesLeonardo Mystic Aww, man... When I watched TMNT yesterday, I was shocked, and sad at how Leo got beaten up so badly. It also angered me when Shredder got his katanas, and broke them. I watched today's ep, and it nearly tore me apart seeing Leo so hurt, and helpless. Yet, still tried so hard to try to fight, though it was impossible. It really hurt me, I almost couldn't stand it. Leonardo is my favorite. I'm very sensitive about these kinds of things. akaaria I know the feeling, I can't even count how many book characters' deaths I've cried over before.. dburger I remember seeing that episode... "Tales of Leo." I think I have it on DVD. Yeah, it was shocking and exciting at the same time, because he fought so many foot ninja! I could tell you what happens next... but where's the fun in that? wink Leonardo Mystic "Tales of Leo" was today's episode. It was very bittersweet. It nearly broke my heart for two-thirds of the ep. Watching Don, Mikey, and Raphael tell their stories to Leo was so touching. Raphael crying especially. I was in tears myself. Even Splinter had a story to share. I rather enjoyed though seeing the brothers as young children through the flashbacks. That was so cute. I'm glad Leo pulled through at the end. dburger I very much agree with you! I was emotionally stunned watching the episode too... If you ever get a chance to buy the Mirage comic book, "Tales of Leo" is based on issue # 10, Volume 1. It's basically an exact replica. The flashbacks were flawlessly executed. And yes, I'm glad he pulled through at the end too! Next will be the "Return to New York" series, which you'll enjoy! Leonardo Mystic You bet I did. OMG... Shredder ain't human. I saw the last of the three parter yesterday, and I was totally floored when at the end Shredder came to life, and picked up his own head that Leonardo had sliced off! eek I tell you, he isn't human. dburger Damn straight, Shredder ain't human! You'll find out soon enough what the whole thing about the Guardians (Matrix-looking ninjas) is all about. You'll be freaked! (I'll just give you a little hint: Imagine hundreds of tiny "Krangs" from the original cartoon). xp Topic Date: July 8th-21st 2004 Subject: Youth, Talent, and TMNT in Generaldburger Call me crazy, but I just picked up a TMNT coloring book at my Dollar Store yesterday. It is the greatest! For anyone who enjoys just looking at the black and white art, or enjoys coloring the pictures in, you can't go wrong for a dollar! There are about 200 full-page drawings in this book! It's worth much more than $1.00 I tell you. Look for it in "Dollar Tree" stores if you're interested. I think they're a chain / national company. akaaria You are so cute whee . You ever notice how hard it is to just find a coloring book nowadays? Now everything is an activity book or they just don't exist. Anyways very awesome. dburger Heh, I'm flattered! 4laugh Thanks, akaaria! Yeah, I'm afraid our youth has turned to Gameboy, Gamecube, Playstation, X-Box, Playstation, PS2, Dreamcast, N64 and all the other video games rather than old-fashioned coloring books. xp Do you enjoy drawing and/ or coloring, akaaria? ninja akaaria I don't mind coloring, but I prefer drawing personally. My roommate at college is a coloring fiend which is why I know the issues of finding coloring books. But yea, I prefer anime-ish art, I'm not wonderful at it, but once and a while I come up with something decent. dburger That's great, akaaria, someday I would like to see your artwork if possible! I enjoy anime-ish art as well... (well, pretty much everyone on Gaia enjoys anime-ish art!) I haven't attempted to draw up any figures in a while, but I should get back into the art. One could say I'm stuck with origami right now! akaaria Someday when I get some online I like I'll let you know. I have one now, but really, that's not enough for me to go showing off yet. dburger Awesome, akaaira! I really look forward to seeing some of your artwork in the near future. I'm positive it's going to be cool! biggrin akaaria Aww thanks. If you are interested, I just recently set up a deviantArt account that will probably end up having some of my images in it. Right now it's a lot of photography. akaaria.deviantart.comdburger I love it akaaria! biggrin It was very entertaining to see some of your artwork and poems/writing. The picture of the fairy sitting atop a mushroom was cute! Nice photography too! I think I might just put that "No tresspassing" sign before my room... Also liked the squirrel atop a basket of garbage. xd Nice work, akaaria! akaaria Aww, thanks for the comments biggrin I'm glad you thought it was neat, I thought about adding the fairy because I do enjoy her a bit and thought she was cute enough to pass on. But yea, thank you for taking a look. smile dburger You're more than welcome, my good friend! biggrin Please let me know of any new photos/drawings/poems/ or writings you add to your site! Leonardo Mystic I heart the fairy, akaaria. You have such talent. We would love to see any artwork you have made of TMNT. dburger Me too. Hey akaaria, if you ever get up to the challenge of drawing some TMNT artwork, I'm sure it would be a blast! I have done a few pieces myself and submitted them to Mirage Studios' art contest... Still haven't been chosen as a winner yet, but I am praying for it! What do I win? Well, a nice strategy guide for all the TMNT games... xp akaaria If I get anything with it, I will be sure to inform. Aww thanks whee . Best of luck with the contests. If you do win, let us know. dburger Thanks akaaria, I'll be on the lookout! biggrin They pick winners every two weeks or so, I believe... which is good as it gives more artists a chance to get their drawings published. 3nodding Leonardo Mystic I cannot draw, but I love to write. I have only written in the Pokemon genere, but I have a possible story developing in my mind for a TMNT fanfic. If I ever decide to actually type it up... xp dburger Mystic, please let us know of your TMNT thoughts on creating a story. I'd love to hear them! Leonardo Mystic Well, it's a lot of ideas, none I think that would be really worth mentioning. I keep debating in really developing anything from them. I don't like to start a project I'm unsure of, but I still wish to write it down. *sighs* I hate being undecided. dburger Hey, Mystic! Well, if you ever decide to work on a little TMNT story, or have any ideas you wish to share in the near future, please let us know! I agree with you on not starting until you feel comfortable and have things sorted out... but I do encourage and inspire you to get your pencil writing, as I would like to hear some of your ideas! Leonardo Mystic Believe me, I tempted to write, but I have a habit of putting in unlikely Romeo and Juliet scenarios. xp Ahh, maybe I'll just dabble, and see where it takes me. dburger Heh, I'd like to see that! Perhaps a mutant female turtle would do the Romeo and Juliet trick! xd Leonardo Mystic Don't like the female turtle idea. *remembers the live action show, and shudders* dburger Yeah, I saw the live action show too! It was kind of amusing, but the female turtle didn't take well... I was just joking around when I suggested that! 3nodding drcoco2k Oh man, that show sucked. I hated it so much. I stopped watching it after seeing ten episodes. dburger Same here, I basically lost interest in it after seeing a few episodes... I think there was also a female rat for Splinter! blaugh Leonardo Mystic Hey, d, I've finally decided to start on the story. The urge was just too strong. I had to write/type. Be warned... Once I get started, I don't finish until I have written all of my ideas. This could get pretty long... lol dburger Sounds awesome Mystic! Take your time and develop a masterpiece! Mabye when you're done, if you would be willing to submit it to Mirage Studios, you could be written up and get published for it! biggrin All the best. Leonardo Mystic That'd be cool, but I'm not sure if they'd publish something of a Romeo and Juliet thing between my character, and Leonardo. We shall see. The story is still developing. dburger True, you never know what'll happen! When Eastman and Laird went to get their first Turtles comic published, they were rejected! The man smoking the pipe said, "They're too unrealistic and won't go well with the crowd." Months later, the comic was blazing with success after being published by another printing press, Mirage, I believe. (Correct me if I am wrong, I am not up to date!) So set your sights high, kiddo! biggrin Rey_dragon Don't put any of the turtles with a human! Somebody like me seriously wouldn't like that.. Besides.. The turtles are kinda short..... Leonardo Mystic Rey, that's really what I have decided with the story... It's just my way of twisting the universe... Rey_dragon ...Darn. Leo is my favorite too. crying Leonardo Mystic Leonardo is also my favorite. I have had a passion for him when I was kid, and that passion was ignited again when I started watching the new show. Leonardo is even more, uh, attractive. redface I hope I didn't offend you... With the story and all... *sighs, knowing it was a bad idea in the first place* akaaria That's one of the things about writing... you can't please everyone. Just write it and don't worry so much. Leonardo Mystic I know, akaaria. I guess I'm too much of a people pleaser for my own good. And I'm my worst critic. Thanks for the encouragement. akaaria Aren't we all though? I'm sure it will be worth the read. smile dburger Don't worry...Honestly, I'm interested in reading it no matter what! I've run out of comic books to read, so I look forward to reading your story when you finish it! How are you progressing? Leonardo Mystic lol. It's going pretty good. It's developing quite nicely. dburger Cool, glad to hear that! biggrin Xanhast of the Ravensbane Sweet! I'd love to read it! Is it on FanFiction.net? Leonardo Mystic No. At the moment, I'm in the process of developing it. Leonardo Mystic Well, I've done it... The first chpt. of my TMNT story has been written. As soon as I make some finishing touches to it after work today, it'll be published to FFN. dburger Wow, congrats Mystic! I look forward to hearing it! biggrin dburger Mystic, that story you wrote was absoultely gorgeous! And I'm not just saying that to flatter you, I honestly mean it! I read it word for word and found it very interesting. You included elements from each of the turtles' viewpoints, and captured their unique personalities. I liked the part where you wrote about Leo and Raph, having a minor conflict, but Raph realizing to bond with his brother for the common good. You gave a great visual of the girl who was being chased by the Foot, and it was very eerie and gore-filled... which puts a detailed picture in the reader's mind. Now, I'm not an English professor grading you, but that first chapter was awesome... xd A++++ Keep up the good work! [sweet.confetti] eek WOW, MYSTICMEW2! THAT WAS A GREAT FIC! It's so dark and cool! whee I loved your sense of vocabulary and sentence writing! Xanhast of the Ravensbane Please write more, I love it so far! Your writing rocks! blaugh akaaria MysticMew2 I promise I'll read your story in the near future (I just need time) but I swear I am seriously interested in seeing it. Topic Date: July 9th-10th 2004 Subject: TMNT EpisodesLeonardo Mystic Today's episode was a trip.. blaugh That is one crazy monster hunter doctor. Damn but she looked like a man with all the buff, and that haircut. What was very sweet to see is Raphael's feelings towards Leo have changed, and helped out so much to make new katanas for him. It really made me smile. It only proves Raphael being a softie under all that tough exterior. Xanhast of the Ravensbane Yeah, I saw that episode 2. I wonder why Dr. Abigail looked so much like a man stressed oh well, I'm just glad that Mikey showed her a thing or two! akaaria Sounds like a good episode. I always like when they make the tough a** really nice underneath it all... Xanhast of the Ravensbane Yeah, me too. Raph is really alot more complex than everyone gives him credit for. dburger HA! I didn't get to see that episode live on TV, but I know which one you're talking about! (have it on DVD again...) She kept calling out, "PARKER!" right? That was a funny episode! I can compare that monster hunter to my mom... xd Slavedriver! No, just kidding! Yes, this episode opened up Raph's soft side and established a bond between the two brothers. Leo is all ready now to return to New York. Xanhast of the Ravensbane Yeah, but I personally think that it would be better for them to live at the farmhouse. Wouldn't their lives be so much easier? dburger Heh, not really! Not with that monster hunter at least! In the first movie, it was April's farmhouse, but in the comics and cartoon, it was Casey's. That's a good point to show the similarities between the comics and the cartoon. Xanhast of the Ravensbane Topic Date: July 10th-20th 2004 Subject: Meeting the TMNT, and ninjitsuXanhast of the Ravensbane Wouldn't it be great to meet the TMNT? dburger Sure, if that ever was possible! I think the closest that we will ever get to real-life mutant turtles is in the three movies that were made... Xanhast of the Ravensbane Hey, you never know! For all we know, they could be in the sewers beneath Manhattan right now, kicking some Foot ninja butt! dburger Very true, my friend! That's the way of the ninja... the shadows. I'd love to get my hands on a few shuriken... (Japanese throwing stars) whee Xanhast of the Ravensbane Yep! I'd love to learn ninjitsu, y'know; it'd be awesome to know how to do all of those flips, moves, and weapon techniques (I'd kill for a Bo staff sweatdrop )! dburger Ninjitsu seems very appealing, from all the action movies I've seen and from TMNT! I took karate courses a few years back and learned basic defensive techniques and whatnot. I mostly took it for the exercise, it is healthy and helpful. Also, breaking boards rocks! Oh and if you'd like a nice Bo staff, dismantle a wooden broomstick and there you have it! xd Xanhast of the Ravensbane Hey! Good plan! I think I'll do that; my mom has tons of brooms lying around the house. I'm sure she wouldn't notice if one was missing. Then, I'd have me a good weapon to fight the forces of evil and high-school bullies! Hi-yah!!!!! dburger That sounds good! Let me know how you get on... Just don't go breaking up your house... xd The S - Rouga Densetsu I have several martial arts weapons, including a ninja sword (like the one Scorpion uses in Mortal Kombat DA/D), a bunch of daggers, a cane dagger/sword, and a pair of wooden nunchaku (that, believe it or not, has orange tape on it just like Mikey's - and I got them a year before the new series came out!) dburger Now, THAT is awesome! Very impressive my friend! Unfortunately, I am stuck to using wooden broomstick handles (for bo staffs), old jump rope handles connected by rope (for nunchakus), and long meauring rulers covered in tinfoil for swords.... How's that? xd Xanhast of the Ravensbane Really? That's so cool! Where did you get the weapons? Topic Date: July 13th 2004 Subject: Soundtracksdrcoco2k I just had an interesting thought. If a new TMNT movie was made, which bands do you think should make music for the soundtrack? My opinion: Crystal Method, Eminem, Jackie Chan(He actually does sing; he makes music for his own soundtracks), Linkin Park, Prodigy, Propellerheads, Rage Against the Machine, & some Japanese (folk or contemporary) music. akaaria I almost shudder to think about it. ::shudder:: oop, look I thought about it. But no, really. Somehow, and I don't mean this in a mean way at all, but I think the music would probably be like the popular soundtracks for comic book movies out now. So what does that mean? I have no idea since I don't listen to that stuff. All I know is that stuff like Evanescence would probably make it on along with some other stuff. How about Korn? Heh. But yea, that's my opinion. Personally though, I have to say occasionally they pick something good and unknown like the Black Lab song on the Spiderman soundtrack. That was a phenomenal one from that band. drcoco2k No offense taken. The Matrix soundtracks were pretty good. I don't think most of the bands I want would be on the soundtrack. I just wanted to know what everyone thinks would be the best compilation for the soundtrack. Evanescence and Korn are alright, but they don't have a TMNT feel to their music. Maybe it's just me. akaaria As far as I'm concerned most super hero type movies now have very hard rock soundtracks to them. I mean it could go techno too in ways but ultimately I think mainstream wise it is rock music. I personally stopped listening to this type of music some time 2 or 3 years ago so forgive my inability to be up to date with all of it. As far as I have noticed, the trend is for the music to be something that the target audience listens to. I keep changing the movie I want to use, but let's say The Crow. The Crow is a cult sensation with goth kids. They like it. They understand it. It has a mysticism about it and the main character is in black. We know who the target audience is. Look at the music, the first band on the cd is The Cure. It's just a big smack in the face that says "wake up this movie is for goth kids, goth kids rule!" And thus, we find the target audience of a movie with a brooding main character who wears white face make up, black clothes, and in a rush of romantic notion, avenges the death of his girlfriend. Now it's all kind of stereotypical but look at movies like Barbershop or even Bringing Down the House. Okay, the majority of music is rap because the target audience tends to be an audience who like Queen Latifah and rap music and are most likely black people. So come to TMNT. Target audience? Most likely white middle class kids (probably male) ranging from 11 to let's say 30. This is the likely group that has either read the comic or seen the show either old or new. I'm sure there are younger and older fans that are different genders and ethnicities but the majority of it are probably white boys. What kind of music do they listen to? Well, let's look at my brother who has taken my tastes in music. He's 14 and he listens to Rob Zombie and Linkin Park and some of the pop punk and occasionally rap music. He's got a nice blend I think. I know at least where I come from, this is what a lot of the guys listen to. Most of it is made by white males. We can see how the audience may relate to the music. Thus, aside from the fact that rock music and probably a little techno thrown in would make an adrenaline pumping album, it is also the most likely music for the target audience to be listening to. I know it's stereotypical and it doesn't always work, but I feel that the majority of this is probably true. Anyways, yea, that's why I have come to this conclusion and just came up with too much information Also consider Queen of the Damned Soundtrack, HellBoy, That Vin Diesel movie that had almost no vocal but lots of action and a double cd, The Punisher soundtrack and so on and so forth. I'm done now. drcoco2k Nicely written, Akaaria. I'm not into soundtracks, so I wouldn't know. I agree with the general age group and financial status of TMNT fans. However, I believe that there's a significant portion of fans that aren't both White and male, including yours truly. I'm a Bangladeshi guy. If you're right, I'll like the soundtrack. I listen to Rap, Rock, & Techno. dburger Agreed, nicely written akaaria! I haven't seen any of the latest superhero movies, (even Spiderman)... I have not seen HellBoy either, but I have seen the TMNT films! Also, I have seen Batman and X-Men. But that's another story... Sadly, I haven't even listened to any of the soundtracks you mentioned. stressed But I agree that the creators of each film choose music that the target audience for that particular film want to hear. As for the average age and financial status of TMNT fans aforementioned, I fit the description quite well, being 17 and white. But of course, as you and drcoco pointed out, it's not strictly limited to the white male stereotype. I have always found the TMNT to be something I can relate to and enjoy, as have many other fans of this series. dburger Ah, interesting thought! I would like to hear/see Jackie Chan from the list out of pure curiousity! I've noticed that all the TMNT movies have a cool rap at the end of them, (esp. credits) and for that, I guess Eminem would do well. You showed me those lyrics a few months ago, (I think they were by Eminem, right?) and I enjoyed them! It would be awesome to see Jackie Chan do the acrobatics for one or all four of the ninja turtles. But I think it would sport a lot of puppeteering and CGI, rather than actual human acrobatics. drcoco2k Jackie Chan in a TMNT movie!? That would kick some serious butt! Here's a link where you can get some of his music: http://www.jackie-chan.com/media/audio.jspI forgot about that Eminem parody. I'll have to post a link on this guild for those who haven't seen it. Those lyrics weren't by Eminem. The parody was just based on an Eminem song. Xanhast of the Ravensbane I'd pay money to hear Jackie Chan sing! drcoco2k I'm glad you liked it. I remember being surprised too when I first heard his music. He can sing in English, Mandarin, & Cantonese. dburger Jackie Chan can sing in three languages? Damn, that's awesome! Yeah, I very much enjoyed his songs from the selection on the website. Topic Date: July 21st-24th 2004 Subject: TMNT Anime/ComicsXanhast of the Ravensbane Hey, did you guys know that there is a Ninja Turtles Anime? I found out about it on the official website and it looks pretty good! I'd love to see our favorite turtles in anime style, wouldn't you all? drcoco2k I remember seeing TMNT Anime, but I wasn't that interested. I never got into Anime. The official site also talks about TMNT Manga comics in Japan. Leonardo Mystic I saw it. I'd forgotten how young they look in the old school. I really don't like the outfits they have on. The theme song lyrics are really awesome. I would like to hear the music put together with them. akaaria Every thing has turned anime hasn't it? Not that I mind the style just... it's so popular now.. GohanWinner Yep, I did. I saw an episode, didn't udnerstand a word, but it looked interesting. They could transform into like...super turtle forms. And yeah, they DID look really young the way they used to be drawn...I really don't like the 80's cartoon/Archie style of the Turtles... And I agree. Ultimate Ninja Turtles would rule. XD dburger Really? That sounds awesome! Where exactly do I look on the official website to find this? The comics section, I suppose? I checked the Anime out on the website and it looked great! Very similar to the Archie comics, in fact. Also checked out some of the animation clips and got to hear Splinter talk in Japanese! Couldn't understand a word, unfortuantely... drcoco2k I just remembered, Marvel wanted to buy the rights of the TMNT 'kuz Mirage was making a huge success from Volume 1 of the TMNT comics. Obviously the deal didn't go through. I'm curious about 1 thing though: how good would the TMNT look if it were made into an Ultimate series? Eversince the turn of the century, Marvel have made new series starting from scratch for just about every character or group of characters of theirs. These series are called Ultimate series, but most of you probably know this. I was @ a bookstore today, & I was looking @ a collection of Ultimate Spider-Man issues. The artwork was SO good. The TMNT would look mad wicked if their shells were made in that talent. akaaria ... those Ultimate series. I've seen some of the artwork (and it was nice) but how's the writing in it? I only read a few smaller label comics now so I tend to not even notice the Marvel or DC stuff anymore. dburger Yes I remember you talked about how Marvel wanting to buy the rights of the TMNT. It could go either way, but Eastman and Laird's TMNT are wicked cool the way they are. Although, I would like to see a "crossover" or something that Marvel could do involving the TMNT, but they can't, as they don't have the rights to the characters. Marvel is the leader in the comics industry, so it probably would have turned out well. About the Ultimate Series issues, I couldn't agree more. I have only seen one of the Ultimate Spiderman comics at my book store, and it was just awesome. I would like to get some, someday... Most are very reasonably priced, if not just cover price! akaaria I'm kinda happy we don't have to worry about Marvel getting their hands on the turtles and making crossovers. I dunno, there's just so much to the Marvel universe that I'm just sick of it... dburger I agree, it is a good thing that Mirage Studios still has the rights. Don't know if you've heard of them, but there was a brief crossover series called "Flaming Carrot" involving the TMNT. They were pretty good actually, with nice artwork, but a little hard to follow. (Since the flaming carrot character was new to me). whee akaaria never read it but I do remember seeing the issue at the hobby/comic shop I used to work at. Apparently there was an Archie crossover too.. dburger Cool! Yeah, there was an Archie crossover, "The TMNT meet Archie" and I do have it. It was well done, and quite interesting. The turtles had to save Archie's date from kidnappers... a traditional plot, and well played at that. 3nodding akaaria I have a few Archie comics spanning back to that age but I don't think I have that one. It's good to know it wasn't actually all that bad though. I was a bit worried. drcoco2k Whether or not 1 likes Marvel, a TMNT fan must give them credibility. The TMNT started out as a parody of Daredevil, a character created by Marvel. I personally like Marvel; they have MANY cool characters(except Batman & the TMNT of course). I haven't read any Ultimate series, but I hear that they're some of the best stories Marvel's done in decades. akaaria Oh I prefer Marvel over DC any day (except is that little side print that DC does that Sandman is on). I just... find it so difficult to keep up with Marvel now. For a while I was an X Men fan and it was just nuts trying to read all of the different spinoffs (I tried to stay with the specific everyone and not individual characters) plus find out everything I've missed. Tis crazy. dburger Me too, I'd go with Marvel over DC comics as well. Superman and Batman are some of the best comics DC produces, while Marvel has Spiderman, X-Men, and tons of other popular series. You can just practically name a comic, and Marvel has their signature on it! I agree, it's very hard to keep up with what they're doing nowadays... and find the back issues which contain info about someone or something. akaaria Yes without shredding your bank account. I mean, I've gone through the histories but I've just found myself reading 3 comics at this point. Much cheaper, plus I don't get the discount I did when I actually worked at a comic book shop. dburger Exactly, my friend! All these new comics on the market can really drain your savings... That's cool that you used to get a discount at that hobby shop you worked for. I should like to take up that job! Right now, I'm mainly into TMNT comics... I have, by some great luck, gotten all the original issues of TMNT: 1,2,3,4,5 up to 10! All are first prints except #1... A first printing of #1 is worth $700+!! And the rest of volume 1. Have you ever read Tales of The TMNT? They were a 7-set run and each one told a story about incidents that occured in the past. An awesome comic series. drcoco2k Hey MysticMew2, in your 1st post, you said that each turtle chose a color. In the original comics, they all wore red bandanas. I think the individualized colors are cooler. I think that yellow would look cooler on Michelangelo than orange. Xanhast of the Ravensbane Yeah, Mikey would look better with yellow. Y'know, I think that they all would look better if their wristbands, elbowpads, and kneepads matched the color of their bandannas, don't you think so? drcoco2k In the original comics, the knees pads, elbow pads, & wristbands were white as well as the weapon handles(I think). To be honest, I'm impartial to whether or not the rest of the gear is color-coded. I just think that the utility belts look better without the letters. Leonardo Mystic Yes, I realize that they all wore red in the comic. Which is really ridiculous in my opinion. It makes it hard for telling them apart, unless you look at their weapons. Yes, the different colors adds more to their individuality. I think that's why it was done.

Topic Date: July 24th-25th 2004 Subject: Next MutationXanhast of the Ravensbane Does anybody know if Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation comes on anymore, and if so, on what network? Rey_dragon Talking about crossovers. A while back, around 3 years ago, before the new cartoon came out, I was watching an episode of Power Rangers. (No, I actually hate those shows with passion) Well, in this episode, they needed help fighting I-don't-know-what.... Well, who pops out in the screen? TAA-DAA! It's the TMNT! That scared the hell outta me. Seriously. eek Leonardo Mystic O.o Seriously? Were they like are in the live action movies? That is freaky... Do you remember which Power Rangers season it was? ... *has researched* OMG.. Guys, the Power Rangers/TMNT crossover is real! eek http://www.rovang.org/wg/tmnt.htm This is hilarious! akaaria eek I almost fear for my sanity... xp dburger eek I am in shock as well! I would have never known that there was a Power Rangers/TMNT crossover in a million years... I should like to see this episode if ever possible! Mabye there is a download somewhere on the net. Never was a big fan of the Power Rangers... just another cartoon/action show when I was young. Thanks for sharing this, Rey! Rey_dragon Weird, I don't remember a female turtle. But this happened around 2 years ago so I don't remember much. When I thought a female turtle I thought of the name "Paola" which is an italian name, and I -think- a saint too. She uses a black face mask (light blue is ridiculus! Too similiar to Leo's, well, at least it's not pink..) due to because in ying-yang females go with darkness and negative energy, so I think black would be the best color since it represents females. And the mask would be tied into a bow but with enough to go down long. Since when is this 'pouch' a weapon? Let me tell you something, I hate damsels in distress. What I was thinking for a weapon was those ninja claws I saw in http://weaponmasters.com (click on the logo, go to shopping, and go to ninja equipment, and then click on ninja claws) That I find a good weapon. Nice and sharp too. ^^ Yes, maybe I thought on this too much... Leonardo Mystic Rey, I don't suppose you remember the live action TMNT series? It only lasted about one season because the idea didn't go over well with viewers. Well, they created a female turtle specifically for that show. Her name was Venus de Milo, and I have no idea why they chose to name her after an actual piece of sculpture. They created a little story of her background, saying she was the fifth turtle in the bowl. That when they all fell into the sewer, and landed in the mutangen, Venus somehow got separated from the others. They also put in the fact she was not related to them, so's to give the loophole to have a potential love between one of the four brothers. Giving her light blue as her color was stupid. Blue is Leo's color, and Leo's only. I think yellow would have suited her. The show was really stupid, and just about everyone thought it was too weird because of Venus. She was grossly out of place. d, I hate the Power Rangers with a passion, but when I found that crossover was actually true, I nearly died laughing. I laughed for ten minutes straight before I could compose myself. I'm going to see if any of it is at the official site. Well, this is quite odd. I found nothing mentioned of a PR, and TMNT crossover. I would have thought they would have at least something. I wrote to them of what I found, so I think this problem will be solved soon enough. dburger Was there any luck with you contacting the TMNT site director, and telling him about the TMNT/Power Rangers crossover? Leonardo Mystic I did contact the site. Someone by the name of Dan Berger replied, and told me it was nice that I brought it to their attention, but they couldn't do anything about it because they don't have the permission, or copyrights, it was one of those two, of Power Rangers to use that information. I really don't know... I deleted the e-mail accidentally, so I don't have the actual words that he said. But it confused me by what he said because wouldn't the Power Rangers' producers have to get permission to use the TMNT characters from the Next Mutation series? Unless the copyrights were bought by Power Rangers, and somehow I doubt see that happening. I would've thought that it'd be legitimate to put up on the official TMNT site. Guess not. On a related side note, a friend of mine has the episode recorded on tape. She watched over the weekend, and told me that it was done really well, despite how poorly the acutal Mutation series was. dburger Ah, Dan the man, eh? He's a cool guy, I've spoken with him a few times in the past. What's funny is that his name is very similar to mine! He has been in the production of the TMNT comics for quite some time now and has helped out with drawing the art in many issues. Sorry that it didn't go too well, regarding the copyrights thing... They're just so strict about that stuff. But your thoughts that it should be OK to host the crossover sounds like it should have worked! You're right, Power Rangers had to get permission to use the TMNT characters from the Next Mutation series, and it makes sense that the TMNT creators should have the right to host a simple review of this crossover on the site. Or mabye it was a "one-time deal." That confuses me as well... Maybe they're just playing lazy... whee You have a friend who has this episode on tape? eek Wow! I wish there was some way to make a copy and send it! Mabye a digital videocamera would do the trick, but I doubt it would work... Rey_dragon I never saw the live-action show. Even though I think I'd like Paola better than Venus. I do like the female turtle idea only if she knew how to fight and had a good personality. And I think black is the best. As I said before. Black is a feminine color in the ying-yang thingy. I don't like yellow idea (I thought about it myself) since it's a color very similiar to Mike's and Raph's. Yes, giving blue to her was absurd because blue is Leo's color. My black idea is still going quite strong on that. And what exactly was her, um, "weapon"? I'm still going for the ninja claws though. PS: I think it was from the series in which the red ranger was an alien and had blonde hair tied in a pony tail. And that's why he didn't feel so trusting.. Not completely sure though. Leonardo Mystic Go to www.ninjaturtles.com, and click TMNT TV. The show is called TMNT: The Next Mutation. I'm not sure what her weapon was. It doesn't show it in her picture. When I looked around for more info, I went to the TV Tome site, and I found it was actually from Power Rangers Space, sixth season. The episode was #254, titled "Shell Shocked." They had a short cameo appearance at the end of episode 253 "Save Our Ship" to set up for "Shell Shocked." These episodes aired at the end of February '98. dburger Hmm... Mystic, I never knew anything about the female ninja turtle, Venus de Milo... but thanks for filling me in. I don't know what weapon she yielded either. I only remember the live action show in bits and pieces. I agree, light blue is Leo's color, and was a bad choice for Venus. Rey, I agree that black would look striking and would fit in with the dark, mysterious way of the ninja for her. Heh, I couldn't stand Power Rangers either growing up! But this crossover makes me want to check it out! I'll note the volume number/episode number and see if there's anything on eBay... you never know! Rey_dragon I just checked that out, that pic is really, really bad, it scares me. eek Seems like they mixed too much fantasy in it! I definately did NOT like the plot. They should have been much more realistic. we dragons are too darn sexy to die or be beaten! (ego alert!) They introduced Venus well in it, but what about her personality? And where the heck is her weapon? Is it just me, or did they give her breasts too? eek As I said before. I completely support the female turtle idea, but it does need some perfection. I already stated the more physical stats. Black mask tied with a bow, a name coming from around the same time of around the rest of the turtles's names, and ninja claws. I love comical stuff, so I would add a personality that can make things funny, I would add a personality that is normally peaceful, fun-loving and cheerful, but when angered has a temper that scares even the devil: "I spent ALL MORNING cleaning your stupid little mess up! Now, just one hour later you four have to come here and make it look like a tornado passed by! From now on, you are cleaning YOUR OWN MESSES UP! And if I happen to hear one little complaint from any of you I'm going to kick your butts SO HARD I'll send you flying to the NEXT DIMENSION! So GET TO WORK NOW!" And also whacking or/and slapping Mike and/or Raph when they need it. : Leonardo Mystic I agree it was just too farfetched, and the plot left something to be desired. They gave her virtually no personality, and I don't think she even had a weapon. Yes, they did give her breasts. *shudders* *chuckles at the skit* Rey_dragon Ugh, I think I would have hated it too, they're not the cuddly turtles I know.. (Leo! heart ) And giving a reptile-like creature breasts is completely wrong, seriously! Especially when they're under a shell! I hate it when they give a show with scientific explanations for basically everything fantasy-like plots. Heh, somebody likes my skit. ^^ dburger Heh, don't be offended, but I should like to see this female mutant turtle with breasts! This is getting strangely erotic... No, just kidding! I liked your skit too, Rey! drcoco2k I hate the TMNT live show. I find Power Rangers to be boring. I saw the Powers Rangers episode that featured the TMNT on TV a while ago. I saw a commercial for that episode a few days earlier. I already hated the Live Action Show & Power Rangers, but I felt like checking the crossover out anyways. It sucked. Anyways, there shouldn't be a fifth turtle, male or female. The 4 brothers should be the only turtles ever to be mutated. dburger Hey drcoco! Well, thanks for clearing that up for us! Two words, "It sucked!" Heh, well I guess I won't be searching for this power rangers episode anytime soon... I never liked power rangers either... and Mystic hates them with a passion! We're all in cahoots! Topic Date: July 26th-September 13th 2004 Subject: Random TMNT Fan QuestionsXanhast of the Ravensbane Hey, here's a question: which one of the TMNT would you like to meet the most? I know I'd like to meet Mikey! Leonardo Mystic Great question. ^_^ Definitely Leonardo! heart Rey_dragon Same here! heart whee There's something in him that makes me want to cuddle him I say! cuddliness! However you spell it.. dburger Hmm... I'd like to meet Don the most out of the four, since he has vast knowledge of electronics and computers... Mabye he could help fix up some old gizmos and gadgets that have filled my garage! xd Xanhast of the Ravensbane I have another question: What would you do if you wound up in the turtles lair? Would you stay, run, or try to LIVE with them? Leonardo Mystic I'd stay, but maybe just a while. I don't think I could probably try to live with them. Especially not in the sewer. Heh. Living with four boys would be messy. akaaria I don't think I'd run, but I would probably leave. As much as I like 'em I'm not sure hanging out with them would be my bag. Rey_dragon First of all. I would think I'm dreaming. Go street level, go to my house and lay on my bed and try to wake up. Then I'd try looking for it again the next day to make sure I was dreaming. End up there again, talk to them, make friends, help them in what I can. And then do my stuff. Help Don in his projects. Whack Mike when he jokes around about a dangerous situation. Slap Raph across the face when he does something stupid getting himself in danger and give Leo the occasional cuddle. Even though keeping my own house, because if I pop out of nowhere trying to live with somebody even a mutant turtle would think I'm nuts. This is why I support the female turtle idea. dburger What would I do? Hmm... I'd most likely stay for the night, get to know them, and make sure to grab a Shell Cell (phone) to contact them if ever need be! I couldn't last more than a night in the smelly sewers of NY... Probably not even a minute! I don't think I could offer them residence above ground, in my home, as April does... I think you can all agree with me on that one! Xanhast of the Ravensbane And yet another question: What kinds of crossovers would you like to see take place with the TMNT? I'd love to see a Harry Potter/TMNT crossover, or a Wolf's Rain/TMNT crossover! dburger Heh, no thanks, I don't need anymore TMNT crossovers! gonk I just think that they're fine by themselves, and any poorly executed crossovers don't go well with the hardcore fans. It is always a possibility, but the TMNT are doing well right now by themselves, and intervention from another series can spark flare with the fans. On another note, I just stumbled upon another TMNT crossover comic book called "Usagi Yojimbo," which is the story of a warrior rabbit who fights on the side of good! Heh, it was sort of amusing, and this was a special one issue crossover that was made with approval of Eastman and Laird. drcoco2k No more cross-overs. Not for a while at least. I liked the Harry Potter books, but I wouldn't like that crossover. Maybe 1 with Jackie Chan could work. Xanhast of the Ravensbane Okay, so everybody didn't seem to like the crossover question. Just answere me this: regardless of what other crossovers that the TMNT have been in, wouldn't the idea of a TMNT/Wolf's Rain crossover be kinda cool? akaaria I've never seen Wolf's Rain, but I'm sure it would be plausible. dburger I've never seem Wolf's Rain either, so I don't know how it would be! If it can turn out nicely, then I'm all for it. Xanhast of the Ravensbane Nother Question! Is it possible for the turtles to wear clothes, what with those shells and all? No reason, I just wanna know smile ! dburger Yes! It is very possible for the turtles to wear clothes... If you've seen the third action movie, TMNT 3, Mike wears baggy pants before using the scepter to travel back in time... Also, on the new cartoon show, there is an episode where they have to go "topside" and wear gangster clothes to blend in with the human folk! Finally, Raph sometimes wears a trenchcoat and hat when he sneaks around above the sewers. Leonardo Mystic Absolutely. 3nodding Ever seen the episode "Fallen Angel?" It's where they have to disguise themselves in human clothes to get inside the Purple Dragon headquarters to rescue Casey. They wear clothes quite well, although Leo wondered how on Earth people could move in them. Since it seemed difficult for them to fight with them on. In the older Mirage comics, they did have clothes for disguise. In the Michelangelo Christmas Special comic, "The Christmas Aliens", Michelangelo was decked out in full. Coat, scarf, mittens, pants, hat, and all. So, yes, they can wear clothes. drcoco2k The turtles can wear clothes. Remember in the classic cartoon, all the TMNT would wear trenchcoats & hats? In the new cartoon, Mikey was Turtle Titan for an episode; Mikey cracks me up. Xanhast of the Ravensbane Thanks, but what about shoes? Leonardo Mystic Seen the episode "Darkness on the Edge of Town"? Raphael is wearing in-line skates that can be retracted into shoes. Pretty sure judging from that they can indeed wear shoes. dburger Yep, seen that episode and wish I had Raph's skates! Actually, they do sell retractable sneakers/skates that have wheels underneath the sole at a shoe store near where I live. I wouldn't think they're too safe though... The wheels could pop out when you'd least expect them to, causing the individual to slip. As for the turtles... mabye an orthopedic, custom-fitting, two-toed pair of shoes would be the catalyst. whee Xanhast of the Ravensbane What's that? Yep, you guessed it! Yet another mind-boggling question posted by good ol' Xanhast! Are the turtles well trained in all weapon forms, or just the ones that they chose for themeselves? There was an episode that brought this up, but I can't remember what happened in it. Leonardo Mystic Yep. They are trained in each other's weapons. This was brought up in the episode "What A Croc!" In this, a turtle-like robot was made that could scan each of the guys, copying their skills, and it would know what they would do before they did it, which for a while gave the robot the upperhand. Until Raphael asked Leonardo if he could borrow a katana, and thus he proceeded to wipe the floor with the robot using Leo's katana. The robot became confused because he did something different than what it previously scanned. In turn, Leonardo borrowed Donatello's Bo, and used it quite well. Although, Donny seemed a little clumsy with Raph's Sais, which he got in the weapons trade. The robot was defeated. dburger Yep, you nailed Xanhast's question right on the mark! 3nodding I also remember an episode, where the turtles are sparring with eachother, each believing that they have the "superior weapon." When Leo defeats them with his katanas, he gets cocky and says "Double katanas are the only way to play." Splinter then demands that Leo attack him with his katana, and stops the blade with his bare hands! Then, he instructs Leo to attack with both katanas and disarms his pupil with an old, wooden walking stick! There was a moral learned by Leonardo, that a true ninjitsu warrior is a master of all things, not the "mightiness" of a katana. Later on in the episode, he fights Hun, and utilizes Master Splinter's advice. This doesn't directly answer your question, Xanhast, but it was just the first thing to come to mind. Mystic nailed it! whee Leonardo Mystic That was "The Shredder Strikes, Part One" episode. It was on yesterday. Like you said, it starts off with them sparring. Raphael remarks "You know what I like best of weapons practice? The weapons." Then Mikey swings a nunchuck around one of Raph's Sais, and pulls, proceeding to hurl his older brother over his head to the floor. Mikey says "Too bad you're stuck with a couple of lame tooth-picks, and not a real weapon like the nunchucks." Donatello comes in, and jabs Mikey in the chest with his Bo, knocking him flat. Donny answers "Sorry, Mikey, but the Bo Staff is where it's at." Then Leonardo appears, and announces "Boys, put away the toys. Double Katana is the only the way to play." Then he takes all his brothers down in a few well executed strikes, which, suffice to say, they are not amused. Leo smirks, and glances at the swords, crossing them. He tells his brothers "What did I tell you? Double Katana? Pretty sweet, huh?" Donny sarcastically replies "Nice one, Leo." Raphael's only word is "lucky." Mikey answers that with "Not so lucky for my tail. It just got kicked." Splinter walks in at that moment, and tells Leonardo he fought well. Then he asks him did he know why he won. Leo begins with that he has the superior weapons, and he once read where the sword master Musashi said "The Katana blade holds the soul of steel, and is the truest guide to the warrior's way", to which Leo said it was kind of how he felt. Splinter answers "Many things are said, but few are true," and this floors Leonardo. Donny, Raph, and Mikey knew what was about to happen, and they were pretty pleased with this. Mikey laughed, and Splinter asked him did he think he was funny. Mikey thought for a moment, and said he did, then tried to tell of a time when Splinter told the story of the ox, and the sparrow. Donatello looked mortified, and put a hand over his face. He finally elbowed Michelangelo hard in the chest to shut up. Mikey then changed his answer to Splinter to no. Splinter only replied with a disgruntled "Ahh." He finally turns to Leonardo, and as you said, d, demanded him to attack with his katana. Leo was hesitant, but Splinter commanded "Do it now!" I was about as surprised as Leonardo was when Splinter stopped that blade with his bare hands. It was impressive. Splinter asks him "Is this the great, and glorious weapon of which you speak? Helpless before an old rat such as myself?" He tells him to attack again with both. Splinter nonchalantly fends off the swords with just, as you mentioned, d, his walking stick, and disarms Leonardo flawlessly. Then Splinter takes the end of the stick to Leo's chin, and lifts his head up a bit. He tells him "In the hands of a true ninjitsu master, anything can be a deadly weapon. A weapon is only as good as the arm that wields it." He proceeds to toss the stick like a harpoon, and it goes all the way through the punching bag. He concludes with "Until you have learned this lesson, you have learned nothing." Leonardo gives a dejected sort of smile. You can tell the whole thing really hurt his pride, and you see that later when he's on his own topside. But by the end of the episode, he really did learn the lesson. He truly understood, and he felt more humble of himself, and towards the katanas. Either with, or without them, his skills are impressive. After Hun managed to knock his swords away with the one that was rejected as an invitation and gift, Leo repeatedly kicked that 500lb muscle mountain of a man all the way to the skylight, and sent Hun crashing through. However, it did leave Leonardo a bit weak in his legs afterwards. Mikey, and Donny helped him to stand for a moment, while Raph fetched Leo's swords for him. *laughs* Sorry for the long-winded reply there, but I wanted to highlight some things. Plus, it's the curse of being a writer. whee dburger Ha! Mystic, you practically did the whole scripting for that episode! I couldn't have said it better myself, very nicely written. Xanhast of the Ravensbane Does anybody think that Donny might be in love with April? dburger What makes you think that? xd I know of no conclusive evidence that suggests Donny is in love with April... although they do share a fascination for computers. (April worked for Stockman as a programmer or security or something before getting "fired.") Leonardo Mystic Hard to say, but there does seem to be a little something between them. I think because in a lot of ways, they're kindred spirits. In the episode "Modern Love, the Return of Nano", at the very end, April gives Donatello a kiss on the cheek. dburger Ah! I never saw that episode yet, that's probably why I didn't understand this Donny/April thing. Interesting though, I'll have to see this someday! Xanhast of the Ravensbane Would Raph likely attempt suicide? Leonardo Mystic *blinks* First of all, he's got three brothers who love him, and would stop him. Second, why on Earth would he? dburger Where on earth do you get these questions from? xd I don't think Raph would attempt to take his own life under any circumstances. He deals with his issues by taking them "topside" and would never turn them against himself. Also, as Mystic said, he has three brothers and Splinter who would never let him do harm to himself. Instead of turning his anger inward, he blows off steam by directing it at the Shredder, street gangs, thugs, etc... I would highly doubt he would ever commit suicide. Xanhast of the Ravensbane Okay, who agrees with this? Casey Jones and April O'Neil are meant for each other. dburger Yes, that is the way I feel too. Although the fact that they remained separate at first made the story all the more interesting. I believe they got married shortly after Casey's relationship with Gabrielle ended, when Gabrielle passed away from the labor of childbirth. (Casey's daughter is named Shadow). Xanhast of the Ravensbane Oh, so that's who Shadow is. I have been wondering who Shadow was for ages, but who was Gabrielle? dburger Gabrielle is Casey's former girlfriend and wife. She offered him shelter and a place to live in her trailor in "City at War," but I forgot how they met. I'll have to look into that someday! IveyAngleo Hehehe that is so true, I will deff agree to this. I love the way they handle it in the new show, and in the original comics. biggrin Xanhast of the Ravensbane Does anyone think that there may be something going on between Leo and Venus de Milo, seeing as their bandanna colors are both blue? Leonardo Mystic Blah. I don't think so. It was really stupid to give Venus the color blue as well. It's a light blue, but it was blue nevertheless. In my opinion, Leonardo is the only one who should wear the color blue. Azriel Nasgoth Indeed, they should have given her pink, or black, or yellow. Or anything else basically xp IveyAngelo Well with Venus I know the actress said that she'd liked Michaelangelo hehehe Even though the character kind of pushed him off. Others have said they'd think she'd be more for Raphael. But the original deal of the show said she wouldn't be really matched up with any of them... which made it very stupid for them to make sure there was a scene in the show where Venus learns that she is not really their sister. It mean Saban may have tried to sneak something in any how. With her color I'm GLAD they didn't take yellow or pink, I would of been so pissed if they did. I hate those colors and I hate it when girls are color coded for that. I don't mind the blue they choose for her, it wasn't too much like Leonardo's to me. So I was ok with that. There was other colors they could of used... but if they went the way of yellow and pink I would of had a few things to say that wouldn't have been nice. Having people shove yellow and pink down my throat when I was little, made sure that I didn't like those colors growing up. My favorite color is blue. Always has been. Xanhast of the Ravensbane Who is Oyuki? I have seen her name in many fanfics, but don't know who she is. dburger Oyuki was one of the Archie comics characters. She was a friend of April's and helped her write top stories on worldwide issues. This happened after April got fired from Channel 6, and she told her friend to photograph a certain crime scene for her. This earned back her respect from her boss and she was eventually re-hired. Xanhast of the Ravensbane If the turtles had a chance to turn human, do you think that they would? Or would they choose to stay turtles? drcoco2k The only reason I can think of for them wanting to be human is that they can live normal lives. So, I don't know. They definately prefer being mutants than being pets in a bowl. Leonardo Mystic I think they would stay just the way they are. I pretty much believe they are happy for what they are. They seem pretty well-adjusted, and accepting of that fact. They hang in the balance between species. They're not completely human, but they aren't completely animal/reptile either. In my opinion, they are a lot more human than most humans. Like drcoco said, it beats being pet turtles in a bowl. IveyAngelo This is a tough one, see each of the Turtles would go over it in their minds for a few reasons... mainly to be able to live what some would call a normal life. It was touched once in the original cartoon with "The Gangs all Here" when Michaelangelo ate the cookies that changed him human. Though it was a good idea for an ep, I think it was handled wrong with a few things (heh I don't see Mike looking like that! xd ) . Like Mike forgetting how to fight just because he's human, humans are Ninjas too.. the first ninjas were human... so that was not handled in the best of ways. Now with each Turtle... Leonardo would want to stay a Turtle, for he knows even if he changed human he would still live the honorable life he is now, and stick true to his training of being in the shadows. Living as a human and in their world isn't his #1 goal in life, though he'd like to be excepted he knows who he is and the path that he is living is true to his heart. Raphael would want to become human, to get out of the sewers and live a normal life. Though the minute he looses his shell he'd realize things he'd miss about his old life. Gotta amit having a shell comes in handy while in a big fight. He'd highly think of this, and come up with an excuse like "Come on, if I was to leave Leonardo would fail at what he does, and I'd have to come back to save his shell any how" and make sure to put the blame on someone else for the reason he wouldn't go human. Donatello would have a hard time with this choice... for he's already a loner and going out to the world is one of his dreams. Though if he's to changed he's forever regret his choice and feel he's done something wrong, though the same would be said if he doesn't change.... he would dwell on this choice and wait to see which path his brothers would choose for a help in guidness... or even talk to Master Splinter. Michaelangelo also would love the idea of being human, living in a human world... not worrying about hiding, not having to deal with the sewers, being able to really go to concerts and eat inside a pizza place without a hat. Mike's life dreams would come true to be human... though than he'll have to realize the responablities that come with being human isn't stuff he was raised for... like holding a real full time job... I think he'd jump at being human at first... though if he's changed and realizes the problems that are invold in being human he'd want to go back to his brothers.... In all I think each of the Turtles will find deep down inside for one reason or another, they would be happier just being who they are. Changing for others approval will never make one truely happy. Topic Date: July 27th 2004 Subject: Fun TMNT StuffLeonardo Mystic I was introduced to these links by a friend after she dug them up from the depths of the internet, and I dug up the latter three: http://www.x-entertainment.com/articles/0699/ http://www.x-entertainment.com/articles/0906/ http://www.x-entertainment.com/articles/0898/ http://www.x-entertainment.com/articles/0879/ http://www.x-entertainment.com/articles/0869/ http://www.x-entertainment.com/articles/0854/ They're all articles based on the old, and new of TMNT. Check them out. They're a good read. I love how this guy writes. Some of it is tasteful, others not, but I was constantly in tears from laughing so hard. Rey_dragon He actually quite does write funny. But at the same time it's like he's making fun of TMNT. Leonardo Mystic In a way, but it's in good humor for the most part. He's actually obsessed with TMNT. dburger That was absolutely HILARIOUS! I enjoyed every single article word for word! Heh, I've never heard of the Hostess pies, but I have heard of the TMNT cereal and cookies. In fact, I still have a cereal bowl that came with the box in my collection. Ebay sometimes sells these vintage food items, but I've never purchased any of them... There was even an auction for a can of Chef Boyardee TMNT ravioli a while back! (I'd like to hear the writer of those articles do a review on that! xd ) Thanks so much for sharing those sites, Mystic! Leonardo Mystic You're quite welcome. ^_^ I'd also like to read what this guy would say about the Ravioli. dburger eek I just found one of his articles... And it was on the ravioli story! Check it out! http://www.x-entertainment.com/messages/225.html Leonardo Mystic I love this guy's writing. I'm in tears again from laughing. Shame the pics don't seem to be working. I'd like to see them. dburger Me too! Yeah, the pics were disabled for some reason... Mabye I can pull up a few pictures in a good search from the answer to all life's questions: Google!! Topic Date: July 28th-August 3rd 2004 Subject: TMNT EpisodesLeonardo Mystic Now I understand. Shredder isn't human because he's one of those Utrom things. I have a good hunch it's that evil one. And what Leo did in the virtual reality scare was amazing. Only he could pull off something like that. He's the most focused of the four. dburger Don't mean to give away any spoilers, but your hunch is right! You're right about the Leo virtual reality scene. He made the sword of Tengu vanish by believing it wasn't actually "real." If my memory serves me right, I think that's what happened... 3nodding Leonardo Mystic Splinter told him they were an illusion within an illusion. If Leo could clear his thoughts, he could make anything he believed actually happen. Which is exactly what happened. He "took" the sword from Shredder's hand, and made it appear in his own, totally kicking Shredder's butt off the face of a cliff with it. Then he made it disappear from existence. It was so cool. dburger You nailed it right on the mark. It was a very cool scene indeed! What do you think of the guardians? (The matrix-like ninjas who guard the utroms). I think their mysterious aura is awesome. I'm sure you saw the episode where all the guardians were shown, right? (When Leo took off the Shredder's head). It was darn cool! Leonardo Mystic The Guardians are great. I didn't know what to make of them when they first showed up, but after helping Leo, and the others out several times, I found them to be pretty cool. dburger I agree, at first, I didn't know if they'd be friends or foes with the turtles, but after helping out Leo, I knew they were good guys. Apparently, their rivalry with Shredder goes back thousands of years! By the way, none of this was in the comic books; Shredder was never an Utrom, and the guardians didn't exist. The creators of the cartoon added them for appeal and it was a nice addition. However, the Utroms were in the original Mirage vol. 1 comics. Leonardo Mystic Wow. Really? It's tied in so great I thought that it was a part of the comics. That's awesome. dburger I know! I would have never expected Shredder to become an Utrom in the new cartoon series. I remember a documentary from Peter Laird, stating that the new cartoon takes stories from the original Mirage comics and adds things here and there for eye-candy and appeal. Baxter Stockman came back as a robotic spider with his head severed! You have seen that episode, where they break into the TCRI building... that's where Baxter is a "head on a robotic spider." (i.e. Cyborg!) whee There were so many other things added that were missing in the comics and even in the old cartoon! Another fun fact: Hun never existed until the new cartoon created him... Leonardo Mystic *dances around* Sorry for that moment of insanity. Ahh! I just loved yesterday's ep "The Ultimate Ninja." It was Leonardo at his best. ^_^ The annoyance by April's stockings all over the place, and his disapproval... *giggles* That part was funny, especially about Splinter, and the workings of shampoo and brushing on his fur. LOL. The whole thing where the video tape flew out of Casey's hands, and that amazing display of ninjitsu Leo pulled off to catch it, and then pop it into the player. Then the whole battle with that other ninja... He's so quick, and so fast. Poetry in motion... I was scared for awhile though, especially with him dangling off the bridge, and then falling when the cable was cut. But again, his quick thinking saved him. *grins widely* I just loved it.

Topic Date: August 22nd 2004 Subject: Discussion of Ivey, Her Introduction and Her StoriesLeonardo Mystic There is a show on VH1 called "Totally Obsessed," and on the latest updates of the TMNT official site, it tells of an upcoming episode that features the TMNT. Quoted from the update: "Michelle Ivey is totally obsessed with "The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." In order to become the sixth hero in a half-shell, Michelle has spent over $5,000 in karate lessons and even bought the 'head' of Turtle Michelangelo." Pretty sweet, huh? Our guys are being shown on a really big TV station of all that's considered popular. If you're interested in watching, as I know I'm most certainly going to, you can catch it Tuesday at 11pm EDT on VH1. dburger Darn it! I don't have cable, so I won't be able to watch it. I read about this on the official site too, and it sounds interesting... Just fill me in on what happens! Leonardo Mystic Aww. sad Well, I'll be sure to highlight every single thing that happens for you, d. dburger Thanks Mystic, I really appreciate! Don't stress too much over it though. smile Leonardo Mystic D, I'm highlighting everything that happened with the TMNT segment of "Totally Obsessed." OMG... You will not believe this. This 26-year-old young woman, Michele Ivey, eats, breathes, and lives Turtles. She has spent $5,000 on Karate lessons, becoming a blue belt, just so she could do what the Turtles can do, and bought the costume heads of Leonardo, and Michelangelo from the live action movie. She told how much each head cost: Leo's $1,800, and Mikey's $2,000. She wears them too. She's taken out several loans, putting herself in financial debt, just to feed her Ninja Turtle obsession, and doesn't mind. Her favorite is Michelangelo. She has a full body Michelangelo professionally done costume, bedsheets, and all other kinds of merchandise, from Mirage versions to the cartoon versions. She eats a strict Turtle diet, from the old school of pizza, pizza, pizza everyday, complete with weird toppings. A bacon pizza was featured, and she applied mayonaise to it. I mean, she virtually drowned it with the stuff. They showed a few clips from the old school TMNT show, and a shot of Michelangelo in the third live action movie when they were in feudal Japan. Plus, a shot from a music video that was done in live action. I've seen the video on eBay. Her friends, and older brother have adapted to her outrageous obsession, and the fact that she thinks she's a Ninja Turtle. Other people have told her to give up the Turtles, and get a life. She says the Turtles are her life, and that they changed her, to live life like you want, and not hide behind walls. She feels that they are right there with her all the time, watching over her. And Michelangelo is her favorite for a reason, she acts totally just like him. She's nuts. xd dburger Oh my! Wow, that is a lot of stuff to fit onto one plate... She actually bought the heads of Leo and Mikey? From the Next Mutation series, I suppose? I think that would creep me out a little... Heh, never heard of pizza with bacon and mayo! (Gaia needs a little "vomiting" emoticon...) The music live-action video wouldn't happen to be "TMNT Tour Coming Out of Their Shells," would it? I had that tape since I was little. There is some cool music on there. The costumes in the music show resemble the ones used in The Next Mutation. I can see how she resembles Michelangelo... LOL! Wish I could have seen this little segment, but many thanks for giving me and everyone here a vivid picture of what happened! Leonardo Mystic From the live action movies, actually. The Michelangelo head is the same head that was used in the third movie. Yeah, it did creep me out a little when she had those heads on. GohanWinner Wow. That's not just totally obsessed. That's creepily obsessed. dburger OMG! You won't believe this... I'm reading myself a TMNT bedtime story , (Issue #2 from the new series), and one of the comments in the back pages of the book comes from none other than Michele Ivey! She wrote a shitload of writing, pardon my French. ^^ Basically just a half-a-page congratulating them for reviving the TMNT series, good work on the comic, etc... But what stood out was her name which I recognized. If you'd like to see what she wrote, you can pick up a copy, it's TMNT # 2 from the Mirage series. Leonardo Mystic Ahh! That is cool. Can you write it out, or scan the page of what she said? If you wouldn't mind. dburger Absolutely! I was worried at first to scan it, since the lettering is microscopic in the comic. But I adjusted a few things and it should be readable now. Here it is: Heh, now who here has the guts to invite her to join this guild? blaugh Leonardo Mystic She had a lot to say. I've got the address for her website, but it seems to be down at the moment. *laughs* If she was on Gaia, I'd most certainly ask her to join. Leonardo Mystic d, I've managed to dig up of what I hope is Michele's e-mail address. If it turns out it is, thank the good ol' Turtle luck. I wrote a long e-mail message, and I invited her to check out the guild. So... I'll know soon if I indeed got ahold of her. Cross your fingers. dburger Ha! Well, you've decided to take on the challenge to track her down, eh? I admire that! It would be really awesome to see her in this guild, I'll have my fingers crossed as well. smile Kyaa Michele Ivey Let the people know who watched VH1 that I don't really eat pizza every day and a lot of the other stuff they showed wasn't really true either. I am obessed with TMNT... I just don't want to become a Turtle. She IM'ed me, asking nicely to spread her word to this guild. So I quoted her, Gaia won't allow her to register. Some error stuff again. It's Gaia after all. neutral Anyways, if you wish to contact Michele at all (since she can not register right now) feel free to AIM her at: Donatello IveyHopefully she'll be able to join later on so she can start posting in this guild. ^_^ Leonardo Mystic That's so cool! ^_^ Yeah... A lot of times with shows like that they don't show everything, and have sort of half-truths, and/or false info. So I understand where she's coming from. Did she say she got my e-mail? I'm not sure I got the right address because I didn't get anything back yet. Did she give you her e-mail address? At any rate, once Gaia allows her to join, we'll welcome her here with open arms. dburger agree, that sounds awesome! I very much anticipate meeting and chatting with her if she can register on Gaia. smile drcoco2k That Michele person sounds scary. dburger Heh, better not call this Michele person crazy, she may be joining us in the near future! I'd like to ask her a few questions about how she became interested in the TMNT, and other general questions. Mabye she can help me understand the new line of Mirage comics that are on stands... There are some things I just don't follow in the new comics, such as "outer space vampire" thugs and the like. I need to touch base with someone who knows about this stuff! Leonardo Mystic It may seem so, but we haven't heard from her side of the whole story yet. She did say to Kyaa to tell everyone who watched VH1 that not everything on the show they said she did was true. I'm sure we all have a lot of questions for her, and I hope she is able to register on Gaia soon so she can talk to us, and become a part of this great guild. dburger Oh, you can bet I'll have a lot of questions to ask her! 3nodding Can't wait until she gets registered and becomes a member in this guild so we can chat! Leonardo Mystic I had the best talk with Michele this afternoon. ^_^ She's really great. I knew there was so much more to her than what VH1 showed. She showed me pictures from the convention she went to this past weekend, and will be sharing them with the rest of the guild too. Once Gaia lets her register, that is. She keeps getting some error, and has e-mailed the Admins on it. She's kind of frustrated about it because she really wants to talk to us. She says she can't wait until the problem is fixed so she can. She's been keeping up on the guild though since I gave her the link, and so of course she did get my e-mail. ^_^ *thanks the Turtle luck* She showed this link to me about her getting a Michelangelo tattoo on her arm, and told me I could share it with the rest of the guild. http://www.geocities.com/M_Ivey/Tattoo.html I'm really looking forward to having her here. dburger That's cool that you got a chance to talk with her. The tattoo of Michelangelo must have been an interesting and fun experience for her! I look forward to chatting with her sometime soon. Leonardo Mystic Michele is still trying to register, and I wanted to help her, so I was going to create an account for her, but I ran into problems too. *kicks Gaia* It's being so stupid. gonk *sigh* dburger ... I do look forward to seeing Michele here when she gets registered. *Joins in the kicking of Gaia* IveyAngelo HI everyone!!!!! This is Michele Ivey, I finally with some help from two great people! (THANKS MysticMew2 and AmoraWhite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) I've been trying to get on here for awhile now... evil place wasn't letting me join... but I got around that. Hehehe Any how, just answer a few things about myself real fast as mentioned before everything on the VH1 thing was not true about me, and really didn't even touch much of who I am. I'm a HUGE TMNT fan, yes... though I've done a lot of stuff through the Turtles, be it back stage at the tour, on the set of the TV show, or going to Mirage Studios... Hehehe I don't mind being called crazy, esp if the Vh1 show is the only thing people have used to tell who I am.. or if they read that stupid newspaper story out there on me. Yes I am an obessed fan, though I am just that.. a fan. I'm not trying to become a real Ninja Turtle and I don't eat pizza everyday... and if you read the paper story about me I am not a depressed person who needs the TMNT to live... heh both of these things painted me on the oppisite ends of the scale. So yes, anyone who's using the media to tell who I am... is welcome to call me crazy hehehe even my friends like to call me crazy wink The Mirage comics are a great area for TMNT fans, for the story lines are wonderful right now, taking all new turns. The art does take a little getting use too, but with Jim's style used for the comics it helps gives the comic the feel they're looking for. I've grown to love this new style, though will always dream to see an Eastman and Laird comic made again. How far have you gottan with the new Mirage comics, are you up to date with them? The Vampires are not fully answered for most anyone yet, we do know they've caused some major trouble for Raphael. And I hope Raph gets pay back on them when ever things get cleared up with him. Anyone else not reading the Mirage Comics I HIGHLY recommend picking them up!!! How I became interested in the Ninja Turtles.... well it started when I was 11 years old, I found a Michaelangelo toy in a tin can that belonged to a friend of my brothers. That was in October 1989... that Christmas I got all of the Turtle toys, a few comics, dolls, and even a Michaelangelo pillow. From there every year something major TMNT happened... which helped keep me into TMNT as much as I have been. It's great to finally be here!!! I'll deff be around! And dburger, I'm more than up for talking about the comics and everything with you. I've been reading through the guild since I first got the link and been wanting the chance to be able to chat as well, if you had AIM I would of IMed you. BTW my AIM for anyone wants it is Donatello Ivey Leonardo Mystic *hugs* I'm so glad we were able to get you on, and kick this thing's butt. Everyone's going to be so ecstatic that you're here. I know I am. I've already added you to the Members list. Absolutely make yourself at home. ^_^ IveyAngelo Thanks! It's good to be on here. Sorry it took so long to get on though *baps Gaia* wasn't making it easy that's for sure. dburger Hey Michele, it's a pleasure to finally see you here! I'm glad that Gaia let you join, mabye Mystic's and my "kicking" Gaia made it work! xd To start, of course the media loves to exaggerate things and blow them out of proportion. And in your case, I'm sure they extremely exaggerated all these things. Just look at politics..... enough said! Personally, I didn't get to see the VH1 show or read the newspaper article, but I did hear a lot of the details from Mystic regarding the VH1 show. You're certainly not crazy, just a big fan like the rest of us! biggrin I love the Mirage comics out right now, I currently have all issues 1-17 which I fortunately picked up on eBay. They share a resemblance to the old school Mirage comics, and that feeling makes me feel right at home when I open up a newly published book. Michael Dooney is one of the best artists they've got-- I've always loved his work and even his other comics, such as Gizmo. And his cover art for all the issues so far has been absolutely superior. You're right about Jim's art taking a little time to get used to. (esp. how he draws the humans). I've adjusted to it though quite well and still, he does a great job on artwork, considering he pencils the WHOLE book! About the vampires... I don't know what to expect! I can only hope that Raph gets returned to normal somehow. And he most certainly will get payback on them for "biting him in the neck," you can bet on it! It's great to have you here Michele and welcome~ biggrin IveyAngelo Heh well it didn't even work on my end I needed help from someone else to register using my email address and choosen nick name. Than turn around and gave me the info so I could get in. That's why I have to thank MysticMew2 and AmoraWhite!!! If not for the two of them, I'd still be fighting with it on both of my computers. Heh yup that's right! If you want to read what I meant about the newspaper there are serveral copies of it online, though here's the link straight to the Detroit Free Press print up of it... remember a lot of it is lies... http://www.freep.com/news/locoak/turtle21e_20040821.htm Yes I have to agree Michael is one of their BEST artist!!! I love his work, and am trying to talk him into doing some art on my car hehehehe hopefully one of these days I'll be able to afford that. Believe it or not VH1 tried to get that into the story, they called more than one of the Mirage Artist... trying to find someone who would come out in less than a week notice to paint up my car. I told them that was too short of notice. I love the scene of Michaelangelo making faces at the child, the art and everything with that scene was perfect!!! Yeah I believe Raph is going to be changed back to normal, I don't see Peter keeping him like this. Though it should have an affect on his personality and view of things... and he better go out and kill those vampires for this!! Thanks! It's great to be here! And so far I'm having fun, just trying to keep working up money to buy better stuff. Hehehe a nice place, and true enough you can get addicted to it. biggrin dburger I see! Well now that everything has been worked out, I hope you are enjoying the site and exploring the forums! Currently, I only use Gaia to chat with my friends in this guild and another thread I created. I rarely look at the forums because most of them are ridiculous. (e.g. "Are you happy with your p***s size" in general discussion!) Also, I have a very close real-life friend who introduced me to Gaia, and that is another reason I come here--to chat with her. That news article was very interesting and partly disturbing. If bullies were the case in your younger years, I am truly sorry... bullies can be plain assholes and we all face them at some point in time. But as you said, that part could have been completely made up and false. But the main point of the article expresses how you are a big fan of the Ninja Turtles and congrats on getting published! Yes! In my mind, Dooney is single-handedly Mirage Studios's best artist from all that I've seen. You really tried to talk him into painting your car? That would be a dream come true! If you ever accomplish that goal (and keep at it!), please show us photos! When responding to a fanmail letter, Peter did say that Raph would eventually go back to being "himself" but didn't say when or how long it would take. Can't wait for that kick-a** action Raph is going to give to those vamps! (pardon my French! wink ) Haha, good to hear that you're having fun here. Just don't spend all day here because it can become quite addictive! If you have any questions about the site, don't hesitate to ask one of us "experienced geezers" to lend you a hand! IveyAngelo Hehehe I'm going around mainly in the welcome area and saying hi to people and voting on art work. To earn up some gold right now. I wanna buy a some pants. Hehehe I don't usually wear shorts and not much with dresses or skirts either... so trying to at least get some pants for my character. Though everytime I start to earn up money I go to the store and find something else I want and the pants are too much so I buy the other thing. Though it's a bummer that you get less back, if you try to sell the item back to the store. I will get some pants though bwhahahahw *G* The bullies part was real, I was gang up on by about 15 to 30 kids at a time and would coward letting the kids beat me up, though after I got into Karate the fighting stopped and I never had to hurt anyone. Which is good. I've had a few fights since I got into Karate, but everytime it ended fastly so I'm happy about that. I don't hold grudges with the people who did this to me as a child, though I won't ever trust them and I'll never give their names out so they don't get credit for what they did. What I feel about this now is that they are not a part of my life now, so I don't care what they think of me or where they are. Michael is really cool, they were joking about it the last time I saw him... he said I'd have to leave the door at the studio for a few months before he'd get it done... hehehe I see the guys every now and than, and they know who I am... here's a picture from a few weeks ago with them... Hehehe yeah, Peter's very good at keeping us guessing at what and when he's doing next. I'm glad he talks so much on the letter pages. I can't wait for the issue that's going to be all about April. April use to be my less favorite character, but both in Volume 4 and the new series April has my attention, they're doing much better with her these days. Hehehehe too late, it's going on 4:30 in the morning, but I'm hanging around here chatting and stuff. Though this isn't the only place I"m hooked too.. on too many message boards these days. Got a lot of TMNT hang outs, I don't talk at all of them but I usually try to read up on the ones that I do talk on.

dburger AAAHHHHHHHH! It's the head of Michelangelo from the third live-action movie! Did it get chopped off in a guillotine or something? That is really awesome and scary at the same time! The picture of you and the Mirage crew is priceless... I've never been to a comic convention yet, as they are usually stationed across the globe from where I live. (Maryland). Usually they're in Northhampton or Canada. But I would die to go to one. It must be a real privilege to meet the guys in person and get to know them! Good luck getting Dooney to paint your car! About the bullies again... sorry to hear that it was true and actually happened to you. I took Karate as well in my younger years and learned some very useful techniques. Pressure points are major and I learned a great deal about where specific ones were located...just incase I should find myself in a compromising situation. You've got the right attitude about the bullies--don't ever give them credit and just put them behind you. I also look forward to the next Mirage issue about April. I believe issue 11 from the original Mirage series, "True Stories" touched on April's inner thoughts and feelings. Mystic and I talked about it just recently! Have you had a chance to read the other recent comic series by Dreamwave by LeSean and David? I enjoyed that series because the artwork shared a similar "cel-shading" approach similar to the cartoon. I think it was temporarily discontinued after issue 7, but I hope the publishers can pick up where they left off.
drcoco2k Woah, IveyAngelo made it. That picture is creepy. I don't have a favorite turtle. Splinter is my favorite character.
dburger Heh, well I for one, wouldn't be too comfortable sleeping with that 'head' staring at me! xd
IveyAngelo Hehehe I have both Michaelangelo and Leonardo's heads from TMNT 3. They're some of the rear things I collect of Turtles... I'm looking into buying Splinter right now, but not sure if I'm going to go through with it. Maryland isn't too far... I'm from Michigan, and do the driving to the events these days. They don't have any conventions they do in Northampton usually... but that is where they're located... this was the first time going to the Canada con that I know of, for them. But it was cool that they went. I believe they also do a convention in PA in May each year. I've got a lot of pictures of this kind of stuff, I've been traveling to meet the guys since 1992, be it to Northampton pestering them in their studio or to conventions on the East coast. Recently a hobby of mine has been goign to conventions to meet the voice actors for the new show, which is in NJ right outside of New York City. *nods* Man I can't believe it... Tuesday night/Wednesday morning I felt like I was back in Jr. High with how one of my co workers started acting towards me and she's in her 40s!!! We were talking, she was complaining about the fact that they have just inforced us having to wear safty glasses in areas where they really are not needed (like my machine), and I mentioned that I'm thinking about looking for a new career and right away she went into me saying "Ninja Turtles are dead" and when I tried to state facts about the Turtles and asked her how the Turtles were brought into this conversation... her reply would be... "Ninja Turtles are only big in your eyes because that's how you want to see it, it's not how things really are"... She was really annoying me! And talking down to me... a lot of her lines would be like "Ok, Ninja TUrtles were one of the top toys last Christmas, to you." Like I don't know what I'm talking about... really made me feel like I was back in school and that she was one of those bullies that I normally put behind me like there's no tomorrow... Sad thing is though, I've known this lady for a year and a half and thought she was my friend, this verbal attack came out of no where, it basically blind sighted me. Oh I LOVE #11!!! that ws a great issue!!! Some of my favorite art is in that issue, like with Leonardo going after the deer. Mirage comics are so cool... I haven't read any of the other Dreamwave comics... sadly I don't get much free time, like working 58 hour weeks right now isn't nice to me at all, and money isn't that great either (a lot goes into Turtles wink ). Though I do know that it sounds like the comic isn't going to pick back up... which really disappointed me... I was so looking forward to their furture stories, esp after those last few issues... 6 and 7 are deff my favs!
IveyAngelo That's cool! Splinter totally rocks! Hehehe just thought of something this reminds me of.... On Oprah back in 1990, she had the Tour Turtles and April on the show... and Oprah asked April which of the Turtles is her favorite.... all the Turtles started to make noise and get excited... "Tell them about us April" one said with a laugh... and April than leaned over and said "She likes them all..." but than corrected herself... "Splinters my favorite!" "Splinter?!" "I guess you gotta be cool to pull of being a rat." I don't remember which Turtle said which line right now
Leonardo Mystic Whoa! Are you serious? I would so love to see that particular show.
dburger I would also love to see this Oprah show! Michele, do you have it on tape? That would be awesome!
IveyAngelo Yeah it was aired in October of 1990... wonderful ep... Shredder even showed up for a few minutes. You get all the Turtles talking, answering questions to the kids, singing, and April got some of the funniest parts in the full show... Here's the scene... line by line... *sets tape up to listen and type* *G* O (Oprah), A (April), M (Mikey), D (Donny), R (Raph) and L (Leo) so that I can keep up with the Video better. O: Let me ask you this, is there one of the Turtles you like more than the others, I mean like anything like romantic or anything. R: Woah... A: *laughs* what *covers face* D: Careful of that answer there. L: April tell them about us.. * Mike tickles April under chin as she's laughing and pulling his hand down* A: No I mean, I'm sure everyone.. you can... the more you get to know the turtles the more attractive they become... M: Good answer L: Gee thanks D: You you're talking about me. A: No they're all a lot of fun, they're all my friends and they're really really good guys, and the more that you know them, the better they get.. that's all I can say... M: She ain't bad for a girl. She's pretty good. O: Let me ask you this guys, let me ask you this... do you sometimes wish that April was a Turtle? R: Woah deffently.. M: Conceptially, that works for me. R: You know I've been... * others are laughing, Don stands up and starts to walk away laughing* M: Where you going? *Don comes back* M: I nearly cracked myself up. R: Oprah man I've been trying to talk her into a inner species relationship for months now. L: Woah Woah Raph Chill man! O: And she won't do it huh? R: Na D: No she won't do it. M: Biggest problem is she can't hold her breath long enough. Heh topic changed there before going into a TV ad break. *G*
Leonardo Mystic lmao! That is priceless! *giggles* I so wish I could really see that.
IveyAngleo Hehehe I got two of these heads in my room... though I grew up with costumes laying around the house so this is nothing new to me. My dad has made costumes since I was 4 years old for me... and a lot of the time, I would leave my costume in my room for a long time... I like costumes and puppets and hope to some day get a job either wearing costumes or working puppets.... *stares towards Henson's Creature shop... dreaming* For those who haven't seen here's a picture of my home made costume, and this is one of the costume that spends a lot of time in my room. It was made in 1993, and the picture I'm using was taken in 2000... I'm holding a traveling mascot from one of the online TMNT groups I'm with... the mascot is called "Jaffa Cakes"
dburger That costume of Michelangelo is beautiful, Michele. Very awesome indeed! (It didn't show up yesterday, because photobucket was being a pain, but I can view it now. ) If you really are interested in puppeteering, I wish you the best of luck in achieving your goal to work with Jim Henson's workshop or another puppeteering job. Dreams do come true!
dburger Hey Michele! You have Leo's head too, eh? Do you think you can take a picture of it to show us in your freetime? I'm sure it would give us a good scare! LOL! Good luck getting Splinter, if you ever decide to. Where do you purchase these TMNT costume memorabilia and from whom? That's cool that you've been meeting with the crew since '92! I would love to meet the voice actors for the new show... One of the voices (For Hun) is done by Greg Carey... strangely, I have a friend by that exact name! Uh-oh, sorry to hear about that co-worker of yours... It seems that history keeps repeating itself, no? You did the right thing though, just keeping cool and speaking your mind. The turtles aren't dead, nor will they ever be! Hope you can find a way to reconcile your friendship with her or just avoid her during your work schedule. Darn, the DW comic won't be continued you say? That's very unfortunate... I really liked the comics. I guess I'll just have to stick with the current Mirage comic to satisfy my TMNT "cravings!"
IveyAngelo Heh you're in luck I have pictures already with the Leo head online... *glares at photo bucket* though what I use for pictures is currently down... so I'll have to post the picture after I get it back. I'll have to post pictures of Splinter too to show how bad he's doing... he looks like he's going to cry... it's really sad, but I think I can fix him up. I get the costume stuff from a guy who buys this stuff and sells it at a higher price... he found me through ebay. Though I don't like giving out personal email addresses and stuff I can inform you guys if he puts anything TMNT related up on Ebay. It started off with coventions, but I also became a member of the Words and Pictures Museum, which was a comic book Museum Kevin Eastman owned... and everytime I went to their parties and stuff, parts of the Mirage Crew would be there as well. It was really cool to be a part of that, and I really wish the Museum never closed down. Another thing that helped was doing email with Molly Bode through the Mirage web site, we made good friends. Molly is no longer at Mirage, but Dan is doing email and he's just as cool. I got a million and one stories that I can share about things I do with the TMNT.. though only shareing if people want to hear (was told in the pass that I brag, because I talk too much about this stuff... I feel more like it's shareing and helping others learn how they could do the same stuff). LOL! That's cool! Hehe I'd love to meet Hun as well, he's one of my favorite villains in the new show. He caught my attention since the day I read the press release on the new series. He hasn't come to Anime Next yet, but it would be interesting to meet him if he does come. I don't plan to make friends with her again... if someone can know me this long and go down at me the way she did in front of everyone... she's not really worth my time. So I'm just avoiding her. We don't work close to each other at the factory (no one works close to me, I stand quietly in my own little coner... really gets boreing and lonely at this job). All I gotta do is make sure not to take the same breaks at her, and I can avoid her most of the night that way. What ever happens though, I just won't talk to her again. Yeah, sadly. Lesean is on one of the other message boards I'm on, and let us know that the comic isn't coming back and how disappointed they were to get the news too. I wish that wasn't the case sad Which is nice since right now we have both "TMNT" and "Tales of the TMNT" to keep up with... TMNT Monthly!!! *G*
Leonardo Mystic We would love to hear any story you have to tell us. You're not bragging. It's great you can do all this stuff, and have friends on the inside of TMNT. I'm quite envious of all the experiences you have. That really sucks when people like her stoop to such levels. If it had been me in that situation I would say to her "Why should I care what you think about the Turtles? You're not worth my time to explain all the facts." I get so pissed off by people who think they can push you around anytime they want. Good going by not associating with her anymore.
IveyAngelo Ok! As I think of some I'll put them up and maybe pictures to go with... I can go anywhere from when I first met Eastman and Laird, to going back stage at the "Getting Down In Your Town Tour" or even the set of "Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation". Yeah, and I've been doing a good job at not even being in the same area as her, just plan out avoiding her. I'll keep my distance for awhile, and even when I stop worrying about if she's around I just won't talk to her. It's sad things turned out this way... but life goes on, right?
dburger Oooh, then I look forward to seeing Leo's "head" soon! Let's get photobucket working again... *gives it a good kick* There. And you made Splinter too? Wow, I really look forward to seeing a pic of him as well! That's perfectly OK about not giving out the seller's personal email addresses, I would have never asked. But if he puts up some TMNT stuff on eBay, please be sure to let us know! Never heard of the Words and Pictures Museum... I guess I wasn't old enough to know or hear about it... When I was young, the only thing that interested me was waking up Saturday mornings to watch the TMNT cartoons. I didn't get into the comics until years later. But from the way you described it, it seemed like a blast! Too bad they took it down though.. I email Dan the man on occasion when I have a question or want to submit TMNT artwork. He's a cool person! About that co-worker, glad you decided to go the other way and avoid her. She sounds like what I often call a moron... Don't let her get to you and continue doing whatever coping techniques you currently employ to get away from her.
IveyAngelo MysticMew2 Sadly I don't have any of the first four DVDs of the series. I tape the episodes off the tv. He does sound pretty great from the way you talk of him. Sure wish I knew if I could ever get to meet him. Though I'd probably end up fainting once if he spoke like he does in the show for Leo. lol What can I say? I love Leonardo. He's a fan too, huh? He has got excellent taste then. ^_^ I look forward to seeing those pictures. HEh yeah he does have some GREAT taste. Here are some pictures... THe view outside my hotel room this last June, at Anime Next. Fox Box crew... Casey Jones (Marc), Garbageman (Mike P.), Leonardo (Mike S.) and April O'Neil (Veronica). This is me with Mike S. (Leonardo) and Scott McNeil (Bonesteel from the Next Mutation) at Toronto Con just a few weeks ago. This is just me and Scott doing a photo op, before Mike S. joined us. Mike S. came out to my VW bug to see the Michaelangelo head, so here's us for a photo, that's my bug behind us. *G*
Leonardo Mystic Those are some really nice pics. Mike S. does look like a cool guy. Cute too. ^_^
IveyAngelo He is a cool guy, and I know a few people who really like him.. *G* He is cute, funny, and smart. He really enjoys being Leonardo.
IveyAngelo Hehehehe Leonardo showing off Leo's head.... (the guy in the Leo costume is a friend of mine, he got a few of the old mascot turtle costumes that use to go around doing mall tours). Here I am with both of the heads. And here's the Leo head sitting around in my room before the room even had a real bed or anything in it... (This was setting up for the Demo tape I sent to VH1 about my collection).
dburger Thanks for sharing those lovely pictures. They all tell a story of their own and you've got quite a collection going there!
IveyAngelo Hehehe my collection is much more impressive than some may think by just photos.... Let's see.... an example of how to do just a few of the rooms. - Original Gallery - a none changing gallery about the history of the TMNT, with pictures and stories of the creation of the Turtles, even a video wall with some old interviews with Eastman and Laird on the creation of the TMNT. In this room, we'll have a time line of how the TMNT have grown and changed through out the years. - Comic Gallery - This will be a changing gallery every three months a new display will be put up, going from Mirage, Archie, Image, and Dreamwave. Each Display will have Framed issues of those comics, informations on the writters/artist/publishers and tons of original art work, framed around the room with issue numbers, page numbers, and artist names under them. (I've already got a huge stack of original art work from each area of the TMNT including a price piece from issue 10 of Volume 1 that Kevin Eastman gave me back in 199 cool . - Toy Gallery - This will be a changing gallery of Toys in and out of package... displaying a few years at a time. With a toy out of package display in the middle of the room which will match which ever year of toys is suppose to be in the room. Write up about the sales of TMNT that year, and the vaule of the toys. (Should be easy seeing as how I have over 300 TMNT toys in package and over 500 out of package). - TMNT TV Gallery - This will be a changing gallery of TV series, be it the original series (which has a few different displays that could be done for it, like showing early, mid, and dark sky stuff). There will be a TV with the show that is being done at the time being shown. - Original toon will have animation cels around the room (GOT A TON!!!), the show being shown on TV. Write up and articals on the writters and voice actors for the show. There will also be original art work for the animation cels (Got a Ton of those too!). - Next Mutation - Will have promotional pictures up of the show, the show will be displayed on TV... plus behind the scenes photos, scripts, and video will be a part of this display. - New Toon, I don't have as much for this one just yet (but by time/ if a museum is done I'll have more). Will have the show on TV, promotional pictures and press release, and interviews with voice actors/writters for the show on a TV as well. - Movie Gallery - This area will be a non changing area, it will have scripts, movie props/costume parts and much more... including interviews and movies playing in the area for people. I got a TON of stuff that could be used in this area. There would also be a changing gallery based off of other things that have come out, such as the Coming Out of Their Shells Tour and Getting Down in Your Town Tour, the Words and Pictures Museum, and any other events that Fans could be a part of. I will have this place so people could rent it out and share their collections as well, if people feel they have Turtle stuff worth viewing. This is just a few of the ideas I have for a Museum. There's more I got planned out too, been thinking on and off on the idea for awhile now. And The Mirage crew said if I open one, they'd have stuff they would donate for it. What do you guys think? Ok, I'll keep that in mind. Still thinking strongly on what I'm up too and how I'm going to handle this. The collection is huge, right now it's taking up my room, closet, hall way, attic, loft, back room, and the Garage... it would be nice to get it all out where people can view and be a part of it. And it'd be a job I'd do very well, going around and talking Turtles to the people that come. I would really enjoy it.
dburger My, my! eek I figured you would have a lot of stuff, but now I know... this is enough for the whole museum we've been discussing! I like your layout and plan so far. The original gallery and comic gallery would interest me the most, because I'm sure there are many things about the TMNT's past that I don't know... and there are many comics that I haven't seen or heard of yet! The movie gallery sounds great too, with interviews and live movies playing in the background. I'm sure some people would just sit in that exhibit all day watching TMNT movies... No Matinee tickets needed! Everything sounds grand so far, but I'm sure there's a lot more planning to be done... Where would the money to license such a place come from? Would Mirage Studios perhaps help sponsor it? (That would be awesome). Would you charge admission fees? smile Glad I could be of some help with my two cents on where the museum will be placed... I agree, since you'd like to display your collection where others can view it, it would be a great idea to go through with this. And I'm sure you'd definitely love talking turtles to the people who visit! biggrin
IveyAngelo Thanks! Can you tell I've been thinking a lot about it? The past of the TMNT is one thing that I study and always keep studying to this day, from how they were created to where the comic first came out, and who was there and who was a part of it... I always look to learn something new, I think the information I learned since I got on the internet which was most exciting to me was when I learned that the creation date was November 19th 1983... before that I kept just hearing it was late 1983... but no date, once I got online I heard it from a friend in like late 1996 or early 1997 and I remember being so excited about learning that. Since than I've heard it from Mirage Studios and Kevin Eastman himself, so there's always stuff to learn about the past of the TMNT. The comic gallery is going to be an easy one for me, I've been collecting the comics since the early 90's, and since 1997 I've started collecting original art work pages as well. I think another great thing about a comic gallery would be getting guest to come for like the first weekend of their display... so let's say we're doing a display on the Image comics, see if there's away to get Gary Carlson and Frank Fosco to show up. Maybe either of the pencil artist as well. Hehehe well I figured it'd be like those museums with the head phones so like three of four people can go up at a time and listen to what's being said, this way people can still talk and walks around the room without disturbing who ever is trying to watch what ever the montior has to show at that time. I've gotta go through all of that kind of stuff still, but fist wanna get a proposal together for Peter, and have pictures of the collection and written up ideas and money backing what I want to do... with proof that something like this would go over well with where ever I choose to put it. These are things I still need to work out, also need to work out empoylees standards and how much they'd be paid and what else will be connected to the museum... I've got so much other plans that hasn't been mentioned this isn't going to be small so it's not going to be easy, but I'm willing to give it a try and go where ever I can with this. With a museum you'll have to charge admission fees, because there's the cost of the eletric, plumbing and much more that'll come with owning a buiness. I'm also thinking of having an anime store connected and a TMNT museum gift shop (a store where you can buy the comics, DVDs, toys, posters, dolls, and anything else TMNT all in one stop). Hehe yeah, it would make a nice place all in all, and I do enjoy showing what I got to those who want to see. And talking Turtles is the one thing I do best, I love talking, debating, watching, and anything else that has to do with TMNT... though what I enjoy most is meeting others who enjoy it as much as I do and getting new friends.... plus making others happy. Happyness makes everything worth it all. whee

Whoa, that's really awesome, Mystic. 3nodding Thanks for taking the time to do this; I probably wouldn't have ever gotten to see our old posts if not for you posting them here. I skimmed through every single post and it was a great read, reminiscing about good old times. We've come a long way! biggrin

1. Very cool.
2. Spooky. I've been considering doing something similar for the RPG but have like the "highlights" or something.
and of course if you want to add to your thread feel free to delete my response to unclutter things. xd

*laughs* Thanks. I've still got a little bit more to go. Here's the rest. Topic Date: September 23rd 2004 Subject: Ivey's Discussion Contd.IveyAngelo Ok, here's time to share a fast story.... since I keep mentioning doing something like this... Back in 1997 I was mentioned on the http://www.ninjaturtles.com/ because I run a TMNT chat room. Since they dont' have an offical one they gave my email address on their site for it. Well in April 1997 I got an email from some guy saying he worked on the set of NT:TNM and wanted to know what they fans were saying about the show. Well at this time the show was just beginning to be filmed all we had to go off was a few production pictures on the web site... so we didn't have much to say besides for the fact that a lot of us were against the idea of a female Turtle (myself included at the time). Well I didn't truely believe that this guy worked for the set, but decided to play along just in case... I mean really... why would someone from the set email me of all people... what luck would that really be? Esp when he told me he's one of the Turtles! He also said he was a shy Turtle so asked me not to tell anyone... so I really thought it was a prank... but kept playing along... At the end of April, Larry Lam (Leonardo's stunt double in TMNT 2 and 3) was doing a kicking lesson at my Dojo, so before leaving I sent my new friend an email saying I'm off to meet Larry Lam. Once I got to the dojo I learned that Larry is also working on the set of NT:TNM and I really surprised with my knowlege I already knew about the show. Though I had no clue Larry was working for the show till I got to the Dojo and learned it from him. Once I got home, my new friend sent me an email saying he just met Larry on the set this past week and how he's a nice guy... well that surprised me and he convinced me a little that this might be for real. In May he sent me pictures from the set, and I started to believe even more so... this could be real. In June we talked on the phone and he told me that if I got to Vancouver BC he'd get me on the set of the show... sure enough a trip was planned and in July I found myself on a road trip to Vancouver BC. Once we got there I met up with my friend and he took me to the set... once of the BEST times of my life... I will say now, it was like a dream and still when I think about to it, I wonder if I was really dreaming... I got tons of pictures and videos to prove to myself it was real.... you know the Subway lair in the show is the same one used for both TMNT 2 and 3?! I couldn't believe seeing that place with my own eyes... you walk in and you can't tell it's a set... it's all enclosed and there's nothing there that screams out "I'm a set" instead you really feel like you're in the lair... I was there on a day with no cameras so I really felt the awe of what that place is. I also got the chance to watch some filming for "The Guest" in which I got to meet all of the Turtles, Splinter, Dr. Quease and some of the Rank. This is when I became a Venus De'Milo fan. I made friends with the actress, Niki and she was such a great person and was putting her heart into making Venus a good character. It takes a lot of hard work to wear those costumes and she put all she could into doing the best they could. I learned so much about her and the rest of the behind the scenes on that show... and found a deep down respect I will always hold for the Next Mutation. Here is a fast picture from the visit to the set. It's not the best picture, I'll have to scan some more... but I scanned this one through a frame and it didn't come out so good... My friend later let on to everyone who he was, when he came to a booth I held at Motor City Comic Con back in 2000, we called it the Turtle Con Booth. His name is Mitch, and he was the actor who did Raphael. (Seen with me and Michaelangelo in the above picture). dburger Ivey, that was an incredible story, and I'm sure one that you'll never forget! An email by the actor, Mitch eventually led you to meet the other actors (and turtles!) of The Next Mutation series.... That is truly unbelieveable! You even got to see the set of the first TMNT movie, with the subway tunnel-- Wow! What an awesome experience. eek The one thing I regret is that I never got a chance to see much of TNM, and I regret that. I was able to pick up a VHS tape called "East Meets West" and found it very enjoyable. I even have one of the alien-like action figures! (The green and purple guys). But I only partially remember things about the show... Were there other VHS tapes released and would you know of any way to get them? Haha, I'm sure you've got them on tape! biggrin I'll keep an eye out for anything Next Mutation related! IveyAngelo Well the subway tunnel was in TMNT 2 and 3, didn't make it into the first movie they had a different lair, the old sewer den that was destroied by the fight with the Foot... and as Leo said in TMNT. "Oh right Raph, where about a hundred members of the Foot Clan know where we live" Yeah that was a dream come true. And I'll never forget, that trip. I try to share my adventure through stories, but the best way of shareing is at meet ups when I get the chance to show video from the visit to the set. Sadly "East Meets West" is the only United States release of of the Next Mutation that I've seen for sale. It's badly edited from what was even done on TV, some of my favorite scenes like Leo trying to break the bricks with his head was cut. There's a lot of people out there though with this series on VHS from when it aired. I have almost every complete ep... "Windfall" is on two tapes, so I don't feel like I have the whole ep. The rest I have, somewhere... I only know where one of my NT:TNM tapes are right now, because of the move. Sounds like you're talking about the Rank Toy, they're not really alien figures they're dragons... and suppose to be from Earth.. just got banished to another realm and they used the Realm of Dreams to get back to Earth. IveyAngelo Heh I relate in a lot of ways to Michaelangelo. I am a very hyper person, I have ADHD, and it shows... so even when I was a kid I loved Michaelangelo because you can feel the energy coming off of him, with the way he moves... and knowing that when he puts his heart to things he can go through with it. The original show didn't really pick up on who Mike was all the time, they enjoyed useing him as the comic relief, joker, and group mess up. Though I still loved him in the cartoon... it wasn't till I started to read Turtles that I found the other parts of him that made me even more a Michaelangelo fan than before... He's an Artist - Mirage Vol 1. #17 and TMNTA #62 He's a writter - Mirage Vol. 1 #17 and most of the Image issues. He into comic books.... just about every area of TMNT shows this. He an actor - Each movie has him quoteing actors at some point or another, or bringing up actor names... "Clint Eastwood..." *G* Most of his interest are things I have in comman with him, so it really holds me close to him. And the fact that he does all of this while his energy level is as high as mine, trust me high energy isn't always easy to control and isn't excepted by a lot of people... people think you're acting childish or you're just plan weird... and you get titled an outcast before people get to know you... or they keep you around for comic relief. I was into Karate for awhile, and I know one thing about Karate there's a lot of times when you have to hold still... esp when the Sensei is talking to you. Yeah you might twitch a little here and there, but really you're suppose to stay still... and to be a Ninja Master, or even a high level Ninja they got to know how to stay still, be quiet, and move through the shadows... which is why I can see Mike posing for the statue better than I can see myself posing... I never masted that area. But in many areas of the TMNT, it shows that Mike knows just how to do all that ninja hiding in the shadows bit. My favorite versions of Michaelangelo go towards the Mirage comics, Image comics, Movies, and the new show. There was only one area of TMNT where I was disappointed with Michaelangelo and that goes to the Next Mutation. He didn't act right in there, they made him out only as the comic relief taking out who he is in many ways... and just putting him in there acting weird even for Mike. A few good things they had in there was his pirate radio show. But the turtles I liked most in that series was Donatello and Raphael. My favorite Villain was Dr. Quease. Topic Date: September 4th-5th 2004 Subject: TMNT ComicsAzriel Nasgoth I think the only thing I don't know about that was mentioned is the comics xp Leonardo Mystic The comics are what started it all. Kevin Eastman, and Peter Laird are the creators, and their studio is called Mirage. You can read the TMNT's origin story on the official website here: http://www.ninjaturtles.com Azriel Nasgoth Thankies -goes off to read it- I just read the first comic on that site, and it was awesome! I wanna read more of the comics now. Leonardo Mystic They are cool, aren't they? The only thing that bugs me about the Turtles in the comics is the fact they have tails. It's just too weird to me, but then again, I've never known them to have them. To me, I think the mutation would have terminated that part of their anatomy. Azriel Nasgoth Well dealing with mutation they all probably wouldn't have mutated the same way anyway, becuase their genetics would all be slightly different. dburger Haha! Yes, the tails are drawn in the comics, and I found that interesting as well when I first got into them. Since I grew up watching the cartoon, I never knew them to have tails either. But I can appreciate the old-school drawings, tails and all, because it's a part of the TMNT's history. It's interesting to see how the characters have evolved since their debut in '84. I'd like to see a picture timeline, showing their evolution over the years, or perhaps make one myself if I can find the resources! drcoco2k I'm impartial to the tails. Topic Date: September 4th-October 13th 2004 Subject: TMNT EpisodesLeonardo Mystic I've never seen the episode "April's Artifact", but I got it on tape today, and let me say that is the wildest of the series I've seen yet. *laughs* April and the guys get transported to another dimension in a jungle world filled with giant bugs. In order to get back home, they must go to a temple where a giant version of the artifact that transported them there is inside. Only one problem; the temple is inhabited by a giant hornet colony. Throughout much of the show, they could literally be a poster advertising "Survivor." April's wearing what's left of her clothes, which are in rags, and carrying a spear. They all had to make crude weapons as April made them hand their real ones over because they were getting in the way of breaking things in her new shop they were helping to set up. And towards near the end, they all had jump in a stinky swampy mud pond to coat themselves in it to keep the hornets away in the temple. But this, this was the Master Card priceless... Tough, macho Raphael is afraid of bugs. *giggles* Never would have even dreamed of it. It is just too funny. The whole episode is crazy. xd dburger This one of the new cartoon episodes? Wow, I have to see this someday! It sounds like a lot of crazy things went on. Raph is afraid of bugs? Well, if they're hornets, then I'd have reason to be afraid of them as well... Hornets are such nasty little critters... whee Leonardo Mystic Yeah, it is. Well, he says he hates bugs. He doesn't admit he is afraid, but he's got to be by the way he freaks when Mikey psyches him out by saying there's one crawling up his shell when they're in that other dimension. Plus, at the beginning of the episode when they're in the shop, a fly was buzzing around him, and landed on his nose while he was helping Casey move a large set of antique armor. He had his hands full, so he couldn't swat at it, but tried blowing it off. He then raised all heck when he couldn't get it off, and tried to kill the thing, dropping the armor. In the process, he destroyed a case full of porcelain figurines, of which April had a fit with him. But he did get the fly out of the shop through the door. *giggles* dburger Hah, that sounds like much fun! Raph drops all of April's porcelain figures over a fly landing on his nose? That's a little overdone! Somebody needs to give him a tranquilizer or something! Moreover, giving a tranquilizer to Mikey would be significantly more useful! xp But Raph did get the fly out of the shop and that's the bottom line... ^^ Leonardo Mystic Well, the armor he and Casey was carrying was really heavy, and when Raph let go so suddenly like that, all the weight on his end was thrown to Casey. Casey was propelled backwards into the display case of the figurines, and depression glass. *grins* I agree it was just a little over the top, even for Raph, but it was so funny. *laughs* Leonardo Mystic Oh, man. The Big Brawl episodes are promising to be the most interesting of the show yet. I taped the first part, and the previous episode, The Justice Force Returns. The Justice Force thing was crazy, but there were some cool stuff from it. One, Donny has built them all ShellCycles, with his having a side car. Possibly for Master Splinter to ride in. They're all in their colors with matching helmets. Two, they also have really cool black jackets with stripes in their colors to wear when they ride. Now on to the Big Brawl.. The first part was really cool. There was a lot of traditional Japanese going on in there. A chant to enter the Battle Nexus realm was spoken in Japanese, Splinter said Domo Arigato at one point, and Leonardo paid respects in the Nexus's Hall of Fame to the statues of Master Splinter, and Yoshi in the traditional Japanese. The guys tagged along to find out what was up with Splinter. When they found out about the Battle Nexus, and the story told behind it, including Splinter being the champion, they were impressed to say the least. Now they are set to compete along side him. Well, almost. At least until Leo's katanas are repaired. They were broken when they were fighting in a preliminary round battle they mistakenly got into, and won. Those swords mean an awful lot to Leonardo. He looked absolutely devastated as he stared of what he was left holding, and the broken blades on the ground. He actually fell to his knees before them. More importantly, as far as the weapons department goes, he defenseless in that area for now. And this is really dangerous, because at the end when he's alone in the Hall of Fame to pay respects, ninja that look similar to the Foot ninja phase in like ghosts from some of the statues. They have weapons, and they have them aimed at Leo, who seems to be unaware of it as his eyes are closed. This is where the episode ends, and I hate cliffhangers. I can barely stand to wait a whole week to tape, and see the next part. IveyAngelo A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to get my hands on the next three parts of the Big Brawl (It was aired in Austrail) and you're right.. they're promising to be the most interesting... and after viewing them... they're deff some of my favorite eps to date!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There's some great scenes coming up for each of the Turtles, and a lot of wonderful laughs and cliff hangers. I won't give any spoilers away, but I will say that my favorite scene I believe is in "Big Brawl" Part 3 with Michaelangelo and Raphael going against each other in the Touranment! Trust me that is an ep worth seeing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! drcoco2k I remember seeing that in May. I'm anxious also. I noticed that Leo sees something special in his katanas that his brothers don't see in their weapons. Even Splinter says that one should never be to dependent of a particular weapon. I think this is Leo's weakness. It's the only thing that breaks his focus in a fight. IveyAngelo Good eye! That is a mistake they're doing with this show, they're making Leo act more like a Samurai than a Ninja! Ninja had their weapons more as a throw away things and tried not to get connected to their weapons. If they lost or break their weapons they would go on and do what they needed to do, not get all broken up about it. This is my problem with Leonardo right now. I'm hoping he grows out of this after having his weapons broken so much. If he's this unsure of himself without his swords he should start to train without them at home, and even try a few new weapons just in case. CrazyRob so, what did everyone think about saturday's season premier? IveyAngelo I loved it, I really enjoy the Big Brawl all together. It's GREAT! We have some wonderstuff still to come with this. * holds back from spoilers* smile CrazyRob I can't wait to find out who wins the battle nexus tournament. IveyAngelo *Holds hand over mouth to avoid giving spoiler* Leonardo Mystic I'm going stir-crazy wondering what the shell is going to happen next, especially with Leo. I don't know if I can hold out to wait for the next two Saturdays. dburger Unfortnately, I haven't seen any of the Big Brawl episodes... (I don't have cable) I guess I'll have to wait for them to come out on DVD... which can take some time! IveyAngelo You don't get TMNT on normal TV... like Fox? In Michigan we get it on Sundays, on the WB network... as weird as that seems but I'm happy to say we do get it on normal TV. The Big Brawl DVD is suppose to be a real good one, including a very specail interview being placed on that one. biggrin dburger I do get TMNT on normal TV, but I rarely get the chance to view it, since it's broadcasted when my "lights" are out! I just love sleeping in on Saturdays! Every other day of the week, I'm up at 7AM. stressed IveyAngelo can understand you there, but TMNT are on in the morning, than I've got so much other stuff to do... if I didn't have other stuff on Sunday, I think I would set my VCR to tape TMNT so I could sleep in wink dburger The TMNT are broadcasted early Sunday mornings where you live? Hope you're not too zonked out to watch them! XD IveyAngelo Oh no matter how tired I am, I wake up for my Turtles! xd IveyAngelo Hehehe Thanks.... though I know others who do the same, I know one person who tells her work that she can't work on Saturdays mornings, but won't tell them why. CrazyRob who thinks Mikey is going to win the Battle Nexus Tournament? CrazyRob 3 cheers for Michaelangelo! The Battle Nexus Tournament winner!!!!!!!!! I was so happy for him! xd dburger Shame, I missed watching TMNT this morning on the FoxBox... could somebody tell me briefly what happened? I know that Mikey won the tournament (credit to CR). CrazyRob oh yeah. i can tell you what happened. let's see how good the old memory bank is don and usagi fought off those shadow dudes and leo just started waking up on his own and they protected the damyo raph got triceraton to hold commoner by his neck and said triceraton would eat him if he didn't tell him where splinter was. commoner said the palace dungeon raph rode on triceraton's shoulders and had a curtain over them so it appeared raph was really tall. when the guard came near, triceraton's hand came out and punched them. triceraton bent bars of cell to let splinter out that dragon dude (drago?) was about to steal the damyo's staff, but damyo's son (guy with evil grin mask) took it first. damyo's son didn't know how to use it and it fired blue fireballs around the room. drago took staff and shot it at damyo's son. meanwhile, at the tournament: mikey, something that looks like a female alien, the commoner from the last episode that turned into some giant purple warrior, and that gambling rhino went through a portal and were randomly pitted against eachother (although i looked and 1st person through the portal fought 2nd person through the portal and 3rd person fought 4th person). the fight happened in the same room, just one battle on the left and one on the right. big purple commoner beat gambling rhino (this sounds like horse race by the names i gave them). mikey fought the other alien. her spear almost got the best of him, but he used his nunchaku to disarm her and win. so then mikey had to fight the purple commoner. as all this is happening, drago (while atop the damyo's viewing area) uses damyo's staff to shoot damyo's son into the arena mikey is fighting in. drago also jumps down to arena. raph, triceraton, splinter, damyo, usagi, don all come. damyo uses what little strength he has to warp them into the arena. damyo uses his power to get staff out of drago's hand. everyone runs for staff. drago gets it (IIRC) and his evil power creates a rift. everyone starts to get sucked up. some slam their weapons into the ground and hold on (which didn't make sense when mikey slammed his nunchaku into the ground and it just stuck in there and allowed him not to be blown away). the first person to get sucked up was that floating illusion guy who announces the tournament winners. damyo's son and drago were holding on and fighting and lost grip and got sucked into the rift. raph was able to secure the damyo's staff from getting sucked up by holding it in place to the ground in between his sai blades. he was able to toss it to damyo (IIRC) and damyo was forced to close rift and leave his son in that unknown territory. then everyone dropped to the ground. mikey looked like he stretched his arms after getting up...but his nunchaku ended up hitting purple commoner who was behind him and knocked purple commoner out. mikey asked if they were still supposed to be fighting. then he realized purple commoner was knocked out cold. next scene shows mikey with friends behind him accepting blue trophy from damyo. mikey also has some gold flowery thing on his head like romans would wear. damyo sent turtles and splinter home. it was weird to see them after all that just get warped back to their layer in the sewer in new york city. mikey gloated. raph said he won on a technicality. mikey gloated and they all jumped on eachother and splinter said it's good to be home. dburger Hey man, thanks a lot for the detailed synopsis of what happened during the episode I missed! I appreciate it. So Mikey won a pair of golden laurels for ranking first place, eh? I'm sure Raph had mixed feelings after Mikey won the competition. I remember in the previous episode, Raph said "I don't believe it... What if he actually wins this thing?" after he lost to Mikey. It's been a wild Big Brawl, that's for sure! Thanks again, CR. CrazyRob no problem. glad i could help you and contribute something to the guild. i'm wondering if they're going to erect a statue of mikey at that battle nexus hall of champions like they did with splinter and hamato yoshi. it would be nice if they did. 3nodding and hey, since it's a black & white statue of a ninja turtle, it could easily represent any and/or all of the 4...unless it had a wild mikey facial expression. then everyone else would all know it was him. xd drcoco2k I was just thinking that. IveyAngelo In the new series, when they're dong the Touranments they make Statues for each years winner... Hamato has one, Splinter has one... and this means Michaelangelo should get one as well. It's just in the show. Seselia *jumps up and down* GO MIKEY!!! *hugs a Mikey plushie so hard head pops off* NO!! *tries to put head back on* WWAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!! crying crying crying crying crying
