Okay, I posted this in another guild, but it wasn't a guild directed more at astrology, so hopefully I'll get more responses in this guild.
Okay, a lot of the stars we see at night don't exist anymore, it's just the light still traveling from the star. Stars die out, too.
So, what's going to happen when stars from zodiac constellations die?
Do you think a new era of zodiac will occur? Full of new names, dates that determine which sign you are, and all that other stuff?
Now, I know that at least one person is going to say "We'll all be dead by then" So we're all assuming that the human race is still plentiful and interested in the stars.

I don't think it will change anything, since the signs often seem more like markers than anything directly influencing us. Unless people can observe that people born in what is traditionally considered 'virgo' time, for example, no longer consistently display the virgoan traits, people will most likely coninue using the same system.

Tropical Astrology is not based on planets passing through the celestial constellations. Western Tropical (tropos - turning) Astrology is, and has always been, based on the turning of the seasons (spring, summer, autumn, and winter). And yes... there is another zodiac, the "Sidereal Zodiac," that astronomers, Vedic Astrologers (originating out of India), and a few Western Sidereal Astrologers use; and the Sidereal Zodiac is loosely based on the planets passing through the celestial constellations. http://astrology.about.com/od/yourzodiacsign/l/aa053099.htm Always pay attention to what ImaginaryQuickSilver posts.
