(( This RP is between Oyohusa (Skye Starrfyre) and Sirius (Mint'tea). Everyone is welcome to read but please do not post unless you are one of those listed above. Thank you. ))
Midnight. Darkness. An icey gust of wind sweeps through the trees, rustling the leaves. It is spring but an unnatural chill seems to linger in this part of the forest. It seems quiet like a winter's night... Quiet like a... Grave.
In the distance a lone howl sounds; a coyote calling out into the darkness. The trees rustle once more before following still. A branch snaps. Or is it just the imagination playing tricks? No matter, any who enter this forest tonight should be on guard. It is not a good night to be in the forest.

A chill went down the stallion's spine. His hooves stepped lightly on the grass beneath them. Sirius' ears were constantly changing directions, but his walk froze at the howl.
He had heard from his two-legger about wolves and coyotes, but he had never seen them.
Sirius had been stuck in the forest that night, now he regretted not going back to his teepee in the mountains. Perhaps it was a mistake not going back to Soyala..

Again, the sound; the howl closer this time than it was the last. The source is on the move... Or perhaps it was near the first time leaving the wind to mask its closeness.
Another twig snaps to the left. All fall's silent. Each breath can be heard perfectly... Each heartbeat... Ba-dump. Ba-dump.
"A-ooouuuuuuuuuuuuu." His howl pierced the silence once more, eyes opening to reveal two red orbs glowing from within the bushes nearby.

"A wolf..no..a coyote?" Sirius shook his head hopelessly. He couldn't tell the difference. He had never seen let alone heard one before. This was trouble.
Almost instinctively he backed himself up next to a thickened tree trunk. His golden eyes surveying his surroundings. Perhaps it was merely passing through..? Or..what if it was after a late-night meal?! Panic nearly over-took the stallion, but he forced his breathing to remain semi-steady at its rapidly gaining pace.

"I smell... Fear." A grin curved the maw of the coyote as it stepped out of the bush, prowling closer to the startled Soquili. The hooved creature was larger than the coyote but fear was a powerful tool and could be used easily against one no matter the size.
"What do you fear?" The voice was gravely; trapped somewhere between growl and an amused laughter.

Golden eyes narrowed at the canine, "If you think I fear you. You are gravely mistaken." His voice cold, but fear still evident in the shakiness of his speech.
Truth be told, Sirius was terrified, but more of what he didn't know then what he did. What was this thing? A wolf? A coyote? A crossbreed? A stray hunting dog? He didn't know and that was what terrified him.

"Grave..." He laughed as he paused paces away from the stallion, starring at him with gleaming, red eyes. "I did not ask if you feared me, stallion. I asked you what you feared."

"The unknown, now state your buisness mutt." He spat, starring down at the canine. Sirius was trying to act un-afraid despite the fact that his mind was telling him to flee. Fleeing would do him any good anyways, his legs wouldn't listen.

"The Unknown?" A good thing to fear. The perfect thing to fear... Especially in circumstances such as these where, soon, everything would become the Unknown.
He growled, lips curling to bare teeth as he snarled. "Such disrespect for the Unknown... No wonder you fear it." Toying, teasing... It was now routine even if it changed each time.

"Yes the unknown.." Sirius repeated, watching the coyote with careful eyes. Did he enjoy playing with Soquilis before taking a bite at them?
"What do you want?" The stallion demanded, losing his patience rather quickly. Sirius did not enjoy being toyed with and this canine was doing exactly that.

"Want? Nothing. I want for nothing. All is within my grasp." He grinned as he stalked closer to the stallion, slowly begining a circle around him. "It would be better to ask what I wish. I wish to bestow upon you... A gift."

Sirius blinked, turning his head to let his eyes keep a sight on him. "What...kind of gift would a musky dog like you want to give a Soquili..?" His voice questioning, instinctive caution was always a good thing.

"A gift... Of the Uknown!" He growled as he leapt at the stallion, fangs bared in an attempt to catch the muscled flesh of the Soquili's neck.

Sirius' eyes widened when they saw those fangs in front of him. "I fear the Uknown, thus I refuse your gift!" He whinnied, rearing onto his hind legs. If this coyote wanted something from him..he would have to take it.

"I'm afraid this is a gift you cannot refuse." He bounded back, using his smaller size to his advantage in order to avoid the stallion's hooves as he reared up. He bolted between the Soquili's long limbs, this time attempting to sink his teath into one of the other creature's hind legs.
