She had been rather curious about the three oddly colored baskets since they had appeared suns ago. They were new and, from time to time, it seemed as if they shifted slightly. There had to be something about them...
Every time she had tried to get close before she had been chased away by the Green Lady. She was not a pleasant creature... At least, she wasn't pleasant to either she or her sister. She was very nice to Gata'Utana. The best thing about the Green Lady at the moment was the fact that she was nowhere to be seen.
She took that as a chance to sneak closer to the baskets, sniffing at each one carefully before settling her attentions on the one that reminded her of the sky at night. It was a nice, dark blue color with yellow; like the moon in the sky. She nosed it gently before jumping back, eyeing it as if expecting something horrible to happen. When nothing did she inched forward once more, nosing the basket again.

"Not suppose to be near them remember?" Telling her sister what the Green Lady had said many a time didn't stop her from leaning down and nosing the green basket. It wasn't fair that the two leggers could come near them or Gata'Utana but they couldn't.
She remembered something vaguely about baskets but couldn't exactally remember what. Had she been in one before? Or had she just seen one somewhere else?
"Wonder why she always wants us away." She didn't really expect an answer back from her sister and was used to not getting one. They really didn't need words to communicate anyway.

The blue basket remained still for a long while. a pregnate pause in the air as the two sisters looked at eachother. The foal inside waited... and all at once it grunted and kicked. The basket exploded into movement and learched forward towards the hooves of one of the mares.
A mischivous giggle escaped the mouth of the foal inside, apparently thinking the prank from inside its little cell was quite amusing. Its velvet ears swivvled from side to side as it listened to the word outside from the cracks in the woven reeds.

She was ignoring her sister's words, of course... And then the basket made a noise which sent her quickly skittering backwards, eyes wide. What was that? She inched closer once the noise had ceased, poking her nose against the shiney red orb once more. There was something in there.
He could smell something out there... Something that was neither the soft, comforting voice that he was used to hearing... Or the louder, strong voice that usually spoke to the soft one. He gave a little wriggle, trying to shift so that he could get a better sniff, ears swiveling against the top of the thing that had been keeping it nice and warm. What was out there?

As the basket moved she jumped slightly but didn't skitter backwards like her sister. Leaning down she poked the top of the reeds with her nose and sniffed. She could smell something. It smelt like them but was different. It almost smelt like the other two who came into camp sometimes. Green Lady and Gata'Utana mixed with each other.
"There's something in there ..... it smells like them"
He could hear things and smell things but wasn't sure that he wanted to know what it was. He shifted slightly, tucking his legs under him, and rested his head against the side of the thing holding him. It was warm and he was comfortable so what did he need with getting out?

Whispers reached the little one inside the prison of reeds. Too curious and playful for her own good she slowly pressed up on the top of the basket causing the lid to shift slightly.
White.
A little yelp escaped her and she let the lid drop back down, it was painful on her eyes which had been so adjusted to the dark.
The lid fell closed as the basket was silent again, the little filly inside blinking her sore eyes.

The lid of the basket lifted and she saw two glowing red orbs peering out. Her own eyes went wide as she stumbled backwards, letting out a terrified shriek. Evil! There was something EVIL in there. Horrible! Terrible!
She continued to stumble backwards, creating a ruckus as she backed into the drying rack where Tsisqua had his plates and bowls stacked. That sound made her jump once more, bolting towards the lake where it was safe. There might be evil in the woods and evil in the camp... But there was no evil by the water.
The sound hurt his ears. It made them go flat and it made him not want to know what was going on outside... At first. Then the clatter caught his curiosity once more, body shifting so that his head could lift the lid of his own basket.

She heard her sisters screams and looked down at the basket. "What?" She'd though whatever was in there looked interesting and she wanted it to come out so she could see what it was.
When Guli hit the drying rack her ears flattened for a minuet. That would certnally bring the Green Lady running and then she wouldn't get to find out what was in the baskets. Looking around for a minuet to make sure she was still alone she leaned down and nosed the basket again.
The ruckus outside bothered him but he also wanted to know what was going on. Nudging his head against the lid of his home he squinted as it brightened up considerable. That wasn't nice but at least he could hear better now. He could also see another basket and a few long black things. Was that what made the noise?
She had been munching happily on a few early flowers when she heard something crashing around near the teepee. Her eyes widened as she bolted around and back toward the two leggers home. Her baskets!
Breaking though the trees she saw the knocked over plates and bowls and one of the two creepy mares near her children, HER children. "Get away from them!"

The lid to the basket shifted again as she heard the crash outside the reeds. It was a strange sound, like the clicking of the lid of the basket only...louder. Much much louder. Her ears lightly swivvled back and forth against her head.
A smile crossed her lips as she realised turning them towards the direction of the sound made things much easier to hear. The midnight blue nose of the filly shifted the lid of the basket once more, careful to keep her crismon eyes sheilded from the white hot orb in the blue thing over head.
She wanted to see what was going on! It was so bright, she narrowed her eyes. The little one could make out shapes now, figures of things and slowly the world seemed to bleed color. Fadeing from black and white into pale pastels and then into the viberant colors of daylight. Her eyes where adjusting.
The sound of the voice of her mother, or whom she guessed as her mother made her jolt her head to the side. Red eyes peering out into the world with amazment...and the first time she sees her mother she is in glorious rage protecting them... So that is what a mother is.

She was, thank the Spirits, already away from the spooky baskets... And the Green Lady's wrath. She would stay at the water's edge, waiting for her sister to join her... Unless Agi really felt like engaging the Green Lady further.
Rogue had reacted to the ruckus before he could. She was a bit faster in that department due to her natural state of worry. It had taken him forever to talk her into stepping away from the baskets for a bit with him and now he was never going to hear the end of it.
He made it back to the camp just in time to hear her yelling at one of the two strange, petite mares that were always hanging around the teepees. He didn't think that they were nearly as bad as Rogue did... And he didn't think she should be yelling in front of the baskets. "Chere... Calm down. Ain't nothin' wrong."
There were more sounds now... More voices. The Loud One was usually Soft and the Other One... That was the Strong Voice! He lifted his head, nudging the lid of the basket aside. He squinted at the bright light, trying to stand on wobbly legs. He wanted to be closer to the voices!

"Ahh!" She jumped back as the Green Lady appeared and skurried away from the baskets. She was mean when she was upset and she had told them before to stay away from the baskets. She just wanted to know what was in them though!
Seeing movement out of the corner of her eye she saw one of the little baskets lids come off. They were in there! It looked like how her and her sister had looked when they were smaller.
Seeing one of the other things open he shuffled the lid off his basket and tried to get up. His legs didn't want to stay under him but he wasn't about to miss whatever was going on. The voices were back and the Soft one was saying something to the little green one.
Wobbling he looked up at what he guessed was the Strong voice. It was big and looked Strong just like it sounded.
"Get. Away." She stamped one hoof in the dirt as the black mare jumped back just to make sure that she did go away. They weren't allowed to be near her foals.
Hearing Remy's voice she huffed at him. "See! I told you i should have ....!" She caught sight of the little green foal trying to stand and stepped carefully over to him, all thoughts of being mad forgotten. "Be careful" She leaned down and rubbed her nose against his side as he almost fell over.

Red eyes stared at the world with amazment, watching everything as it happened in a haze of slow motion as her brain tried to take it all in. There was so much out here. Laying stock still in her basket and letting the light flood over her from the missing top the little filly just watched as the green one scared away the black one.
She was in awe of the fury and tenderness that the green one had, as she turned to another one of the baskets and the green colt inside as he tried to stand. She didnt realise it was her brother, or that it was really a boy.. just another one like her. Was she that color?
She broke he gaze and looked down at her fur, her legs where dark blue and with soft pale yellows on her check and belly... no she was not like him. Raising her red eyes again she spotted the dark one... she was like him! The strong voice, who spoke with tenderness. Oh she would be like that one then, like the dark one! Her little mind twirled with giddness, for if she was colored like that one surely she should act like it.
The soft caress of the wind made the filly freeze, how could something touch her if she couldnt see it? Her eyes went wide...it was so strange out here.

Oh, there was the sound of the Soft Voice. He turned his head, gently nuzzling the tip of his nose against a large, green neck. His eyes danced as he gave his backside a little wriggle before attempting to step out of the basket. This wasn't too ha---
He went down almost instantly finding another wave of white light only this time it didn't come from above. It came from something that he would come to call 'ouch'. He let out a soft squeek as he attempted to stand once more, wobbling closer to the source of the soft voice.
"Told me nothin', Chere. Ain't nothing wrong." He nickered softly, trying very hard not to laugh as the green one went down. Foals, he'd found out, were vere resiliant. Nothing could keep them down for long until they'd worn themselves out.
He dipped his head down, giving the blue colt a gentle nudge before going to check on the filly. He could see exactly why the two odd mares had been spooked off... That glow of her eyes was enough to give him a slight chill. But she was his... And Rogue's.
Smiling he lowered his head to give her side a soft nudge. "C'mon... Y'gonna stand an' join everyone else? Promise you'll be safe."

She nuzzled the little green foal as he tried to stand again. She remembered things like that from her own time as a foal. Standing had been a chore. "There you go ... one leg at a time." It would be easier if he didn't try to walk around so soon and chance hurting himself.
She snorted slightly and looked at Remy. "I told you i shouldn't have left them. Who knows what those two could have done." She turned her attention back to the three little ones emerging from their baskets. The little one by her side was the spitting image of his father only with her green. The other colt who was wobbling his way to his feet looked like her with Remy's hide. The filly was a surprise. She must have been what had spooked the one sister.
The Strong one's nudge almost sent him off his feet again but after taking a few steps he managed to keep his feet under him. He snorted softly and looked up, blinking, to see what was going on.
The other two, the ones that were his size, seemed to be having the same problem he was with the whole up thing. At least he wasn't the only one.

The small filly looked up at the strong stallion with a coat of mightnight. His eyes burned with an inner fire a fire she would find later on in life. She was scared by his eyes, how red they where and scary they seemed. Little did she know hers where the same, though filled with wonder instead of pride.
She glanced to the side, the others where standing on wobbly legs... so she might as well try. Shakily she stood and upon finding herself falling to the side she kicked out her legs. Her reed prison went flying into the air and she let out a scared bleet.
The filly ran, crossing her legs at odd angles as she tried to keep her balance. Moving was difficult how did the large ones make it look so easy? Her rear went high into the air as she backed up from the strange things that had crashed all over the ground when the other mare had left. Finally the unavoidable happened and the little filly fell on her belly, legs sprawled around her.
