So It's 7:15 in the morning, yesterday. I hadn't slept all night. I leave my room to go get breakfast, sliding my hand over the door as it closes. And wouldn't you know it, my index finger gets caught between the door and the wall, on the side with the hinges. Now, this is a heavy wooden door moving at a good clip so it therefore has a lot of momentum.
Suffice it to say I crushed my ******** finger, and my fingernail is 70% dark blue from blood and bruising underneath. And it's pretty much been hurting, constantly, with just a slight decrease in intensity (and then only in the last 6 hours) FOR ALMOST A ******** DAY.
DAMN, MAN, THIS HURTS LIKE A b***h.

When I was little, playing ski-ball, I hit my thumb on the metal edge of the thing, and it was pretty much the same way. The dried blood stayed underneath the fingernail until it grew long enough to come out.
Feel better sad

I did that last year. The fingernail ended up dying and had to regrow altogether. It was so sick.

I was sitting in a recliner once, and I dropped something in the side. When I went to get it, it went back to the upright position and literally cracked my fingernail as well as all the other damage. I had to wait for the nail to grow so the crack would go away.

That really socks.
At least the fingernail didn't come off.
One time my godmother was in my kitchen and she did something and her fingernail ripped off completly. It was bloody and gross and yeah.

UPDATE:
The crappy blue fingernail came off a few weeks ago, have had a lumpy regular one under it, and a new healthy fingernail is about halfway done growing razz

Just recently my mom's friend crushed her finger in a garage door. She needed to get stitches and a splint.
Why are fingers so vulnerable?

[ddrfreek] Just recently my mom's friend crushed her finger in a garage door. She needed to get stitches and a splint. Why are fingers so vulnerable? I don't have problems with my fingers, really. It's my DAMN ankles, and knees. Right now my left knee has this GIGANTIC bruise on it because I decided to run across a grate with stelletos on. (>[ I'm sooo dumb) And my right ankle is sprained because I stepped in a hole and collapsed onto it.
