Well this was a fine how-do-you-do. Zoet was not in the best of moods. Nor was she in the most flattering of situations. In fact, she wasn't sure she was going to be able to get herself OUT of this situation on her own. And that can be rather exasperating for a young adult.
She was soundly determined not to call for help, knowing her father was likely to have his ears pricked for her faintest call. She loved him dearly, but she was becoming much more independant, and would rather not have him come charging to her rescue. She she gritted her teeth and tried to save herself.
To other eyes, it might have seemed comical, despite feeling quite the opposite to the pretty bay mare. She was stuck, head down, in a bramble. Well, not all of her was stuck. It really was only her lovely thick mane that had become so badly entangled with the prickly vines. She now couldn't seem to work her way free... simply pulling made it feel as if her entire mane would come out at the roots. Jerking this way and that had been what had gotten her caught even worse than she had been originally.
So now she stood dejectedly, head forced to dnagle low so that she was given a respite from the tugging of the bramble's vines. It twined within her mane as if it grew there, knotting it mightily. She also sported a network of tiny scratches that stung something awful.
She was not at all a happy mare. And she had no idea how she was going to get out of this with her dignity intact. As the sun began to set, she finally resigned herself to the need to call for help, but she kept her voice low, hoping it wouldn't carry all the way to her father.
"Hello? Is anybody here?"

Indeed someone was around. in a much better situation, but not quite. He was watching his sister. The embarrassing part? She was older than he was. Shouldn't it be the other way around?!
But the sttallions ears flicked backwards just as his sisted goofly jumped into a bunch of leaves she'd taken hours to gather, rolling in them happly. He looked at her, considering how funny it was, then remebering he'd heard something. Or someone.
"Sis.. " He looked at her, feeling terrible for ruining her fun. "I hear something. Shouldn't we check it out? " He flicked his tail.
Kasi blinked, moving her head against the leves then rolling onto her belly, looking at her brother. "Sun can go. Then be back, kay? " She smiled, and then rolled in the leaves a bit more, obviously enjoying herself. She didn't want to just give up her fun, throwing leaves in the air.
Sunflash sighed. "Alight. " He said, then turned and wandered through towards the sound he'd heard. Then he saw brown.
"Um.. Are you okay? " Well, of course she wasn't look at her position!

Despite the fact that she herself had called for help, she nearly jumped out of her skin when someone answered from so close. She'd been lost in her own thoughts of what to do, and hadn't heard the approach of hooves. Rueful of her reaction, she twisted her head painfully to the side so she could look at the newcomer with one eye. She sidled herself sideways until her flank touched the bramblebush and that helped her see a little better.
"I think... I could use some help," she admitted quietly. "This wasn't exactly what I had in mind for the day, but it seems that's what I've got." She heaved a huge sigh, whuffling out her nostrils and stirring the leaves on the vines. "I don't suppose you have any ideas on how to get me loose, do you?" Her ears swiveled uncertainly, mercifully not touching the thorns in doing so. That whole side of her head and neck were really beginning to hurt from the repeated scratching.
Her next words were soft, with a touch of feeling. "And thank you for coming when I called. I don't know what I'd do without some help." Her tone was genuine, though a little reserved. She hadn't met many other soquili, and being caught in such a comprimising situation wasn't her idea of the best way to meet someone. It occured to her to be glad it wasn't a kalona who'd heard her call. Who knew what would have happened then?

The stallion steared at the mare in confusion. How did she even do that? "Um. I can try. " He said, though truly a by at loss on what to do. He walked closer to her, looking at the brambles then frowning, not sure. He nipped at them, snapping on or two, but getting an uncolfortable p***k in the nose.
"Hm. " He snorted, then tried gain more carefully, snapping a few more between his teeth before he got another p***k, and a terrible taste in his mouth.
"See if that helped. "

She held as still as she could while he did his best to nibble her free. The idea itself almost made her giggle, but she didn't, fully aware that the scratches she was getting on the neck, he was getting on his sensitive nose and lips. When he had done what he could, she found her head was a bit more free, and she was able to tug some of her mane loose of a few more tangles.
"Bah, I usually love my mane long and loose, but there are times when I would rather it was short or even braided up nice and neat, so this sort of thing wouldn't HAPPEN!" With a last jerk, she pulled herself back two steps, although some vines still stubbornly clung to her and followed her those steps, extending from the bush. "My turn." She curled back her lips with exaggerated care and gnawed on the last few strands, earnign herself pricks and scratches anyway in the process.
With a final huff of exasperation, she stood upright, free of the clinging vines, though pieces of it were still tangled undecorously in her mane. She gave a sigh and gave him a look taht was both grateful and embarassed. "Thank you for helping, I'm in your debt."
She gave an irritated shake of her mane, then straightened with the resolve to not let it bother her. "I am Zoet, it's nice to meet such a courteous stranger, under the circumstances!"

He blinked, watching the mare break free and this only confused him. Why had she needed help? How did she even get there?! "Um. I'm Sunflash, and my sister is back there. " He motioned to the foilage behind him, even though Kasi was actually a bit further along.
"Nice to meet you. " He shrugged. The stallion still wasn't the biggest meeting sort of guy, and not a good conversation starter either. "Thanks. " Was that even a compliment? What was courteous?

"You have a sister? Oh! What's her name?" Her eyes were bright with curiousity and interest, though she didn't let show her concern. This stallion seemed a bit... slow. Perhaps something was not quite right with him? But she shook it off, not one to draw attention to the faults someone was born with.
She set off at a trot the direction he indicated, chattering as she went, and completely ignoring the mass of thorns still tangled in her mane. "Are you younger or older than her? I don't have any...." there was a pause as she realized she did. "Uh... any siblings I'm familiar with," she continued smoothly. "It must be nice to have such close family!"
Just then it occured to her he might not want to go back to his sister, and she paused to look back at him. "Is it okay if I come meet her?"
