Do you believe homosexual people can be Christian or part of any other religion and stay homosexual?

yes. however, youll find most xtians are either pro or con the acceptance of the gay community in general. some debate that within the bible it is written clearly that homosexuality is undeniably "taboo". others xtians may say that the bible is open to interpretation and as long as the individual has a stong faith and love in god, it doesnt matter too much. i personally have yet to discover any occult, new age or otherwise religion who would shun anyone of the gay community.

She's right. Christians come in all shapes and sizes that you don't know possible. (Trust me, it gets confusing.)
Unless you are a funduementalist, everyone has their own opinion on homosexuality. I personally believe its your choice and I should stay out of it, but this is just my opinion.

As best as I can tell, the majority of people who call themselves Christians claim the requirements of being a Christian to be: Believing in Christ, understanding that he died to rid us of sin, feeling truly sorry for the sins we continue to commit.
As someone who believes in personal truth, I feel the argument would be in whether or not the gay person considers being gay a sin. It doesn't say anywhere in the new testament that men sleeping with men is sinful, though in some books of the apocrypha, it alludes to homosexuality as being strongly taboo. I personally believe this is more cultural than dogmatic... or perhaps cultural as a result of dogma.
I honestly don't see why someone would not be able to be a Christian if they were gay, but some religious groups allow it and some don't. It all depends on interpretation.
All I'm sure of is, Jesus said his love is available to all.

Homosexuals can be any religion they desire, however not everyone in that religion will be too enthusiastic. But this is a country that has freedom of religion (more or less) and no Deity has come out and struck a person dead because of sexual preference.

As has been said, it depends. (Isn't that the case for everything? rofl ) As for my faith, I am LDS (aka: Mormon) and I believe that homosexuality is a sin. Actually, that's not QUITE true. I believe that ACTING on homosexual feelings is a sin, mostly for those who have *committed* to keep the "Law of Chastity." PERSONALLY, I *don't* believe that 100% of homosexuality is CHOSEN. And therefore, if that is just something you deal with, it is not a sin to BE gay, to HAVE feelings for the same sex. But it would be a sin to act on those feelings in my faith.
However, even though I believe acting on homosexual feelings is wrong that doesn't give anyone the right to treat gays unkindly. Christians should follow Christ, right? Well, Jesus treated those, even those who committed serious sins, with LOVE. The woman "taken in adultry," for instance, who all the people were set to stone. He treated her with kindness, and rebuked the people for being such hypocrites.
So, I guess that's why I feel like kicking people in the butt when they take someone being Gay as permission to treat them badly. NOT COOL. One of my bestfriends (who is the one who got me into Gaia, incidentally!) is Bi. My favorite aunt is Lesbian and I love her girlfriend, too. She is awesome. Do I agree with their lifestyle? No. But that's sure not going to keep me from sleeping over at their houses or inviting them to my party.
Oh, and as for "being" Christian and homosexual, yes, of course you can. First of all, I think you can be Gay and not even SIN if you don't act on it. But even if you DO act on it, (or commit any OTHER sin, for that matter) it doesn't mean you aren't Christian... it means that you aren't perfect. And none of us are. The Lord still loves you! It's just about living the best you know how. I still believe the Lord wants us to be chaste... but not at the *expense* of being kind to our brothers and sisters.

From what I've heard. Jesus never said anything about hating gays, only about showing everyone love. Even other religions.
The whole homosexuality thing was a cultural taboo. It's a macho thing, they thought that it was uncool to submit to another man.
And yes, you can be whatever religion you want, not matter what.

Of course. According to the Christian faith....
we are all sinners. All sins are equal before God, and all sins of Christians are forgiven.
So yes. Saying a homosexual can't be a Christian is like saying a kid who lies can't be a Christian.

Because of the strong Orthodoxy of Christianity, I don't personally believe that Homosexuals can be Christian. The Bible doesn't allow for Homosexuals to participate in the Christian faith and actually shuns that and many other social groups. However, there are many faiths which make no distinction of what sort of person participates, such as Buddhism.

Of course. I think I'm an example. I wear a cross, believe strongly in God, though perhaps not every individual rule of the Bible. (Examples: homosexuality is wrong, along with eating pig and mixing types of fabric or whatever that one was, and a woman being "unclean" when her time of the month comes around; also slavary being acceptable. I think they all fall in the same category.) I try to generall be a good, selfless person and keep hate from my life. I'm also bi (if you couldnt' tell), so does that mean I can't be Christian? I don't see why not.

Personally, myself I am not a Christain (but I am a lesbian), but I do have friends who are and who are also lesbians. So yes I believe gay/lesbian/bi/trans can be Christian if that is what they believe. From the things I have listened to and watched everyone is loved in the eyes of God and all sins are forgivable to some degree. Now I'm not saying killing someone is right (because it's not), but I just couldn't see how loving someone with all you are would be shunned on by a higher spirit. This is just my thoughts though. 3nodding

Yes, with the rather loose interpretation of "Christian" that the vast majority of people use (aka someone who believe that Jesus was the Messiah as opposed to someone who adheres to all of the Bible)

It is very possible. Some christian segments (United Church is one I am aware of) not only accepts homosexuals into their congregations, but also as ministers in their churches.
