Back when I joined over a year ago you used to be able to get 10 gold from every poll if you had over 1000 posts. That's why there are so many poll guilds and that's where the term "Poll whore" came from. I could make around 600g in half an hour if I posted and poll constantly now. Then around my birthday Gaia "fixed" the "glitch" so we would have to earn our gold. A lot of older members are still angry about that stare .
