To get a jump on this before it needs addressing, here are the official procedures on rehoming and inactivity. These also apply if a player is blacklisted, but we hope that never happens!
If you fail to meet the activity requirements (one post per six months and six posts per year) then your child will be given to another roleplayer. You will retain the right to display the child in your sig and will have a copy of the cert with your name on it, but your child will be roleplayed by someone else, and they will also have a copy of the cert with their name on it.
In this way, you will continue to have an active, growing child, even if you do not have the time to roleplay or participate in the shop. You will still be the owner of a Patch child, you will simply not be the roleplayer of the character. Because we never revoke your ownership, we do not refund for any Patch children for any reason.
You have the right to pick a new player for your child, assuming that person has not been blacklisted from the shop. Please post in this thread with the Gaia name of the person you would like your child to be played by in the event of your inactivity. You may have a second choice if the first person declines or is unavailable.
You may NOT resell your child for any reason. Any player transfers must be 100% free. Replacement roleplayers please be aware: If we discover that you have purchased your child from the original owner in some way, we will remove the child from you and permanently ban the owner from the shop.
In the event you are unable to choose a new player, or if you have no preference for a new player, your child will be rehomed in a roleplay event run by the shop. If you wish and have the time for it, you may participate in the contest judging. You may not refuse to rehome your child unless you want to kill the character. Killing your character is permanent and you will not be refunded, as it is your choice that the character be killed. You must have prior shop approval to kill your character.
Be forewarned: if your child gets a replacement player, that person is entitled to roleplay the character so long as he or she is active. You may not reclaim the roleplay rights to your child unless the replacement player agrees to let you, or lapses in the activity requirements (or is blacklisted).
If a replacement player is unable to keep up the activity requirement, he or she loses all rights to the child. Replacement players may not pick new players unless they have the express consent of the original owner to do so. If a replacement player is inactive, the original owner can choose a new player again.
!!IMPORTANT!! We will not track you down when we rehome your child. If you do not make your wishes known in this thread prior to your child being rehomed, the shop will assume you have no preference in the matter and do as it sees best.
Additional Note: You cannot transfer your child to a new player until you have received your third strike and your time as roleplayer is up. If you wish to rehome your child prior to receiving a third strike, it must be done by the shop in a contest open to all. This is to prevent abuse of the rehoming procedures by people who might want to circumvent our contests and purchasing system (for example, entering a writing contest just to give the child to a friend who might not have been able to win the contest).
The Youth Clause Once your child reaches Youth, s/he can never be rehomed if you are the original player. If you lapse in your activity, you may be asked to take Youth as Adult for your final stage rather than be allowed to pursue Mature Adult.
For replacement players, you will retain your roleplay guardianship of the character until such a time as you lapse in activity AND the original player requests return of guardianship. If the original player makes such a request and you are still active, their request will be denied. If you lapse in your activity but the original player doesn't request guardianship back, you will still continue as roleplay guardian.
These rules also apply to both forms of Adult stage.

The Probation Program
Here at the Patch, we do believe in second chances, and if you lost the right to roleplay your child it is possible for you to get that right back under certain circumstances.
- It must have been at least one year from the time of your banning. - Your child's current roleplayer must be inactive or agree to let you back. Harassing said player to return your child will result in permabanning! - If your child's roleplayer is active, you may instead choose to take the next child available for rehoming.
Our probation program operates just like our warning system: you're allowed to come back twice, and if you screw up a third time, you're out for good, and you will not be invited to roleplay your character ever again.
This isn't something we will track down and offer to you, it's something you have to ask us for, thus displaying your renewed interest in participating in the Patch. If you have lost your child and the above conditions apply, please PM the mule to discuss your return!
When you return, your warnings are reset, so if you lapse in activity you again get two warnings before we rehome your child.

Warning Forgiveness Program
In light of the fact some individuals may wish to turn their Patch activity around without having their child rehomed, the following forgiveness policies are henceforth activated:
- If you have one warning and go eighteen months without incurring any further warning, your warning will be forgiven.
- If you have two warnings and go one year without incurring any further warning, one of your warnings will be forgiven.
So, if you've managed to receive two warnings, don't despair! Stay on track for one year, and you'll go back to one warning. If you stay on track an additional eighteen months, your status will return to zero warnings! Two warnings is not the end of the universe if you don't want it to be. (And while two and a half years is a long time to get back to zero warnings, just remember: at one warning, you're safe from having your child seized and rehomed, and warnings only come at most once every six months.)

I do hope this is the right thread, if *not* - delete my post and redirect me to wherever else suitable.
I would like Neva to be rehomed and put into care of Happy Squid when the time comes~

Oh yay, second post? If I ever become inactive or missing in action, I would like for Griffith to be given to sporknotes. Seeing as she's a in RL friend, you can probably find out what happened to me through her!

Before rehoming my children, PLEASE contact evermore_crystal (AIM: LilAntiLolEr : MSN: evonicea@gmail.com ), or Kotatsu-chan (I know Em has her AIM) both of whom have my RL contact information and can contact me to see what's up.
NEVER EVER rehome Carlisle. He gets rehomed over my dead, bloody corpse. Emphasis on bloody, because it would probably be your blood, not mine.
As for Elizabeth, please rehome her through an epic contest of win. (This just means... rehome her in a public contest.)
Magdelen is a RL custom, and as such has been paid for in full. Do not rehome her.
Crowley may be rehomed as long as the person who he is rehomed with is willing to follow his plot- the basic points, anyway.
Eiji is a RL custom, and she may only be rehomed with Quirm, Kotatsu-chan or Em. If all three of them decline, they should select a new player together. If they find this impossible, please have her killed off.
Hale... is a cosplay child, and I don't feel comfortable making rules about where he's going. Please rehome him in a public contest. :O
Anabelle is a rehome herself, so please hand her off in the same way in which I acquired her: a public contest. =)

Huh. Well, I never intend to go anywhere. Ever.
However, if by some chance of Fate I do, I'd like Leviathan to be given to giftwrapped or NPC'd if she declines. Devakanya should go to Chibi Sheepcat or Chrystali if she declines. Frey should go to Chibi Sheepcat or NPC'd if she declines. Ixidor should be given to giftwrapped or NPC'd if she declines. Ixidor should never be taken away from his family.
And in the case that doesn't happen, please hold an RP contest for Devi, I suppose. Leviathan is an evil b*****d in the works and should never belong to anyone but Sable or Juno. Devakanya could be played by someone else, I reckon, though I ask that people who have RPed with her before help judge. Frey is my other baby, and if my friends don't particularly want him, I'd rather he not be played. Chibi plays the character related to my guardian. Ixidor should never be taken away from his family. Even if I left (thus Ace was killed ICly), Heren would still take care of the twins. Ixidor can never be separated from his family.

If I ever vanish mysteriously, Fallen_Kitsune_Thief and Kappawolf might be able to clue you in to my whereabouts, or you can try reaching me on AIM (SN: Submarieduck).
Orli should be offered first to Fallen_Kitsune_Thief and then to Taichou if FKT doesn't want her. If neither of them wants her, please put her up in a rehoming contest similar to the Neverland event.
Ophelia should either be placed in the charge of Rosemilk or Romantic Wishes. (She's almost old enough to not need a godmother...)
Fish is my baby and should never, ever be rehomed, ever, plus if I'm dead then that means I can't draw Henrietta and I wouldn't want Em to have to keep drawing him. If Em doesn't mind continuing to draw him, he can be rehomed as a complete reboot with only the same art but not the same name or character. Otherwise, Fish should only ever be played by me.
Six is a gift from myself to myself and as a result, unless Em has some pressing desire to take her over or appoint a new guardian (and give them a rundown of her plot), she should probably just be killed off since I won't be able to complete her art.

In the unlikely event of my disappearance...
Melchizedek will pass into the more-than-capable hands of Azumi, because other than me, I think it would be fair to say that she knows Melchy best. Otherwise, since Melchy is a custom, I would prefer he be NPC'd.
Ishizuke should go to my good friend Tuatha De. Should Tua not be able to take her at the time, I think it would be best (and insanely easy, actually) to kill her. By the time I'm finished with her, she'll be so genetically screwed up that a trip to the doctor's office could off her anyway, so....yeah. Following that, as she's a cosplay and I don't know what your rules are for cosplays, I have no problem at all with the art being restarted from cabbage and given to someone who'll use it for a completely different character.
Alabaster and Escher should be rehomed by RP contest. I would like to help judge.
If anything beyond this goes wrong, talk to me. I don't want to think about it until the time comes (if it comes at all).
I will be always reachable at eoittinen@anselm.edu (email) and viiidancingflame (AIM). If I don't respond to either of those in a timely manner, talk to Azumi. She knows me well and will be able to get in touch with me and tell y'all what's going on. Failing that, contact soutou.

I, being of sound mind, and body-- yeah, you get the picture.
Time to revise the rehoming list!
Antony is a youth and thus protected
Austin is a rehomed child, so I suppose he goes back to Raife, actually. Polly will go to ShortGreen Kashmira will go to Trinityblue Jordan and Carmel will be flatsold in a writing comp. Coba was a custom and I'd like to give him a chance at life, so I'd like him to go to an active writer in the community. One that has two or more at child (or preferably) teen stage.
If they don't like that lineup, I'm perfectly fine with them trading off. If they don't want the kid--
I would like someone to put Chris in for youth stage if I disappear suddenly. His reqs (atm) are almost done, and will be long done before I die or something shocking.
As for the others, I'd like to put them in a writing competition, judged by Em and TB, or killed off.

Uhm, if I ever disappear permanently, the shop will most likely be DEAD XD but in case it lives on beyond me:
Merroth and Ylaine are both in-shop trades, so first and foremost I would like to give Raife and Natsube the choice to terminate the agreement since I would be gone and not able to draw their half of the trades. If Raife and/or Natsube would like to continue drawing, then Merroth and Ylaine should be entrusted to rosemilk to either play or find new players.
Grayson I entrust to romantic wishes, as I know she'd do well with him!
If either rosemilk or zige don't wish to take the characters, I give them permission to choose new players in perpetuity. Grayson may be placed in a contest if zige likes, but Merroth and Ylaine are kind of tough characters so I'd rather they not end up in a public contest. I also leave it up to rosemilk if she would like to suggest termination for either.
If there is anyone out there who reads Merroth and Ylaine's journals and feels that they might be able to realize the characters in my absence, they are welcome to contact me while I'm here, rosemilk if I am gone. Either of us will carefully and fairly consider any offers.
Ridley: Ridley gets rehomed over my dead, decaying body, and not even then. He is too inextricably tied to too many of my personal plots to ever be anything but mine. No one else would ever be able to make sense of it all, either. However, if I do in fact die, I would not want Natsu's art to go to waste. Ridley has been paid for in full and I hereby authorize that he may go to a new player provided he is totally restarted as a cabbage with a new name and new history and new life. Well, okay, you can steal things from his old life with me as an homage or memorial or something. But he must start from scratch. Any existing stage art must be reused, and in the event there are stages I did not reach and which do not have art already, the roleplayer can do what they like with those and does not have to be constrained to what I was planning to do. But not a single pixel on any already-finished stages may be changed.
Henrietta: I know this will sound harsh, but, in the event of my death/kidnapping/going to live out my days in the Amazonian rainforest, it is my preference that Henrietta be killed (if Silverah consents) rather than go to a different player. The reason is simply that she is a parented child, I would never wish her to be separated from her parents, and I don't think anyone else could ever play her parents. Please say all three of them died together in a grisly accident, possibly at the hands of an angry mob. Hirschel and Yuki would like that.
Hatshepsut: I love her, and I hope someone else out there loves her just as much! First please offer Jyoti the chance to kill/end the character, and if Jyoti wishes to continue drawing her, a regular rehoming contest would be lovely.
Katie: I won her in a raffle, so I'd like to give the opportunity to play her to others who entered in the raffle. Please offer her first to Lady Mercy, Marina Toriama, and finally demonstration_evil. If none of them want her, a regular rehoming contest will have to be the determinant!
Spencer: As Spencer is in fact Spencer Reid and thus awesome beyond all reason, he ought to be rehomed to someone who is a huge Reid fan! Public rehoming contest is fine, unless Glam wants him. X3
Merle: Merle is a cosplay of Merle, who is such a wonderful character that I'm sure someone else out there will be interested in playing her! If any current Patch players would be interested in taking her on, please allow them to make a claim for her, otherwise send her into a rehoming contest. ICly, please say that she had to leave her guardian because of his depression but that she will always remember Marle fondly.
Frost, Kepling, Parnell: Well, not only do I play them, I also do the art, and if I'm gone it'll be hard to pick up both sides of that equation, so please say all three of them died in a submarine accident.
Additionally, I am putting a PM with a list of people who should never under any circumstances be allowed to play any of my children into the Savebox of Dr. Akari's PMs. Please consult this list in the event rehomings are necessary.

Well, I highly doubt that I'll ever permanently leave or just fall off the face of the earth, but if I ever should... or if I'm gone for a really long time with no word, first:
email me at Lbauer08@comcast.net, AIM me at "kuro no kitsune" or contact Covo here on gaia -- she's a RL friend and has all my personal contacts and info. etc. or Contact Giftwrapped -- very good friend, has cellphone number and facebook stuff.
--try to notify me before any re-homing, please! --
I would first like Keres to be rehomed to the incredibly capable and talented Giftwrapped, as she knows the character very well.
Should she decline, however...IDK yet. I'll get back on that. /fail
I'm not really sure if I'd like her to be put into a public contest or the like.

Being of relatively sound body and absolutely cracked mind...
If I should ever dissapear please try emailing me at pinkbic@gmail.com or AIM me at MyWishingBear. Gaia users inomi and FY no Miko know me IRL, so please contact them. Because if I'm not around I'm probably in a ditch, lol.
Kaimi: I would prefer Kaimi not be rehomed. Either assume she has gone to the LLAnon hotel permanently or has been murdered by vampires.
Galleai: Galleai is so completely tied to my personal plots that I don't think anyone else could carry her adequately. I got her through a rehoming, and if the original player does not want her back I would like her character killed, please.
Darsh, Touda, Anise and Ariel: I really want them to remain active, so my preference is that they be rehomed to existing Patch owners who have at least one Patch character at teen stage or above and who have remained active in the upkeep of their Patch kids.
Rune Jupiter: Should he be rehomed before his art is done, please do not continue the character. Should he need to be rehomed after his art is done and he has been born, please rehome him in a writing contest. Preferrably to someone who loves Firefly.
Cailean: Cailean will be rehomed over my dead and rotting corpse. She's a clone character of one of my longest-standing OCs and there is no one in the world besides me I would trust to play her. Should the time come, assume that she has sailed off into the sunset with her mother or that they have all died a terrible death.
Terms and conditions subject to change if I meet someone who would be a good godparent. XD
