Besides college and mindless TV watching, video games are the biggest distraction that keep me from perfecting my conlangs. Right now, World of Warcraft, Bully, and Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars are eating up considerable chunks of my time. I recently finished off The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and I've got a few PSP games sitting in my backpack for when the urge hits and I'm out of the apartment.
So, conlangers, what kind of games do you like? What kind of games do you specifically dislike?
Note on the poll, I separated PS2 and PS3 for a specific reason.
EDIT: Also, feel free to list all your favorite (or most hated) games/series or genres. And what do you think about 360 vs PS3?

Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones has become an addiction for me.
The game's just...so...awesome!:O The graphics are great, the battle is actually fun, everything's spiffy. Even the glitches are awesome; falling off the end of the world, anyone?
I swear I could play that game through in my sleep.

I'm most definately a gamer. As of the moment, I own a NES, Genesis, PS2, Gamecube, X-Box, a PC dedicated to gaming, a GBA SP, and a GBC. I'll soon be getting a DS.
I play all kinds of games. Currently, I'm working my way through LoZ: Twilight Princess, and playing Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life.
I'd have to say my favorite series would be the Legend of Zelda series. I've been playing those games since I was 5, starting with the first game.

I have: PCs: Vanya (I play ...Minesweeper. Occasionally, I play Solitaire or Spider Solitaire. Sometimes Descent, but that went with his hard drive. Aww.) The old POS Machine, off of which I got Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure, Commander Keen 2, 4, and 6, Duke Nukem 1, 2, and 3 (2D, people!), ...some kind of Mines in space? I don't remember the title..., #1 Agent, and a few others. It also has Jazz the Jackrabbit, the only one that takes up more than one 3½" floppy disk, and unfortunately, it didn't go onto Vanya at all from the 3 it took. Aww. It was the best one... I have to play it on the old machine. Which runs on some variation of dos and windows 3.1? I think? I don't even know. I feel like a n008... most of my friends are better at this stuff than I am, though I recently *found out* that I built a computer when I was 7. And you think YOU forgot your childhood sweatdrop
I had this Atari. It was cool. I had it when I was little, but then my parents took it away. I didn't know how to set it up with the TV anymore anyway...
Nintendo: Gameboy Color (first ever. First game? Link's Awakening. w007!) N64 (first game: Star Wars Rogue Squadron) Gamecube Gameboy Advance SP (Advance and DS are EVIL) Wii.
I am a Zelda fanboy.
Blasphemy: PS2. Got it last year. DDR craze at school, parents got it for me. 'twas kind of odd, but nice. Most of the games really suck though.
I find that most of the games I find are kind of lame, or I've already beaten them... so I replay or continue with Majora's Mask and now Twilight Princess.
emo wahmbulance
I play D&D sometimes, but that's not video game... razz well, they have one... but... meh.

My systems...
Not Working: NES, Sega Genesis
Work Most of the Time: SNES, Original GameBoy (clear!, not grey)
The Rest: GameBoy Color (Pokemon edition), GameBoy Advance, GameBoy Advance SP, PSP, DS (girlfriend's), N64, PlayStation, DreamCast, GameCube, PS2, XBox
My girlfriend just told me that her mom is going to give her $250 and we'll probably have a Wii by the end of the week. My birthday is in about 3 weeks, and I might get an XBox 360 soon after. I have no desire whatsoever to get a PS3, especially since it's losing exclusive titles which I will then be able to get for 360. Also, I don't count my PC because it's not a gaming grade PC, but it can run World of Warcraft smoothly while I'm running on Vista, so it's not a wimpy machine.
The first game I ever played was Super Mario Bros.
Oh, and Link's Awakening rocks. I wish I still had my original monochrome gamepak, but I lost it. I only have the DX version now.

Me likes the Final Fantasy series (only 1-9). I don't like FF7 nearly as much as everyone else does... it's a great game and all, I guess, but the older Super Nintendo ones are just.. so much better. Infinitely. Plus the fanatical fanboys that come with Sephiroth, Cloud and Vincent in general piss me off. And FF10/FF10-2 are barely worthy of the title of "FF game". FF11 seems like a boring onliner, and FF12 looks like a clone of FF10.
More than FF, however, I like the good old Nintendo titles such as Super Mario Bros., Legend of Zelda, and Star Fox series. Super Smash Bros. is perhaps one of the best multiplayer games Nintendo ever came up with, next to Mario (insert sport here) and Star Fox games. And even though it's technically not Nintendo brand, I'm a Mega Man nut. But hey - titles 1-7 and X-X3 have been on Nintendo systems, so...
I also liked Sonic the Hedgehog series on the Genesis. And Boogerman was fun, too.
And one of my all-time favorites is the Silent Hill series. Nothing beats playing Silent Hill with the sound up, the lights out, and no one around (well, maybe just one friend sweatdrop ).
Just as a side note, there's a sweet hack of Zelda III - A Link to the Past if any other Zelda fans who use ROMs and emulators are interested. I mean it's a TOTAL reworking of the game - you've gotta see it to believe how different it is. It'd be almost a completely different the game if it weren't for the fact that the music's still the same. Good for those of you who want a challenge, 'cause this game's quite a bit harder than the original.

I mostly play World of WarCraft. I'm on Mannoroth server, allience side. Every so often, I like to mix things up a little and play Sims 2. Girly, I know, but for the last few years, I've had the incredible urge to raise babies. Oy sweatdrop
My absolute favorite game of all time is Fallout 2.
We have two computers and a PSP. We used to have a PS2, but it broke sad

Xeigrich Oh, and Link's Awakening rocks. I wish I still had my original monochrome gamepak, but I lost it. I only have the DX version now. Indeed. I hear the original had this cheat where you could skip across the screen by hitting select. I tried so many times, until I found out DX couldn't do it... Oh well. Color dungeon = wonderful. I chose red, of course xd .

Zelda...
There's a "make your own Zelda game" program I had found once. You could reproduce the original NES Legend of Zelda pixel-for-pixel or you could make up your own adventure. The same group had been working on a SNES-style version for remaking A Link to the Past. Hawk, you might have run into a SNES ROM version of someone's polished custom adventure.
My favorite glitch in Link's Awakening was Bomb Arrows. Upon finding that Twilight Princess has this lovely combination as an intended and necessary feature, I was thoroughly delighted.
Final Fantasy...
FF4 (FF2 US) is my all-time favorite. Second comes FF7, because I'm a sucker for convoluted storylines and I found the materia system most ideal. I'm not ashamed to like FF7, because I was kicking Weapon a** before most of these FF-tards even heard of PlayStation. I found FF9 to be boring, and FF10 was unbearable. I watched a friend start a new game on FF10-2 and gagged uncontrollably. Another friend of mine was addicted to FF11 for several months until they nerfed all of his favorite features. I've heard, from yet another friend, that FF12 is really, really good, and is more like the SNES games but with the new battle system.
World of Warcraft...
If anyone would like to join me in-game sometime, I'd be more than happy to do so. I'll play Alliance or Horde, on any kind of server, but I tend to prefer low population RP servers. The server ("Realm") I've played on most so far is "Moon Guard" or something like that.
Silent Hill...
I first picked up Silent Hill for about $5 at GameStop a year or two ago. A friend and I had the lights off and the sound up (of course) and played through almost the whole thing in one night. We had no idea that an old PlayStation game could be so thrilling~
I've got Silent Hill 2 for PC, but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. That same friend has SH2 for PS2 and it looks just as good as the original, if not better. I still want SH3, SH4, and that interactive graphic novel one they were supposed to make for PSP.
Also: Halo.

Forgot a big one:
Fable
That game (and Fable 2 when it comes out) I have ranked as one of the best medieval-ish games of all time.

Hawk_McKrakken Forgot a big one: Fable That game (and Fable 2 when it comes out) I have ranked as one of the best medieval-ish games of all time. I liked what I've gotten out of Fable. Haven't played it much, though... I even procrastinate on video games. I'll play it the whole way through eventually, though; especially if I don't get that 360 until summer's over. Speaking of which, I want to hurry up and finish Bully so that I can move on to Silent Hill 2 to finish off my guilty list. Then I can play through my complete collection of Blood Omen/Legacy of Kain/Soul Reaver games (yes, I've got them all). Also, I'm currently trying to get a hold of a copy of Xenogears off of eBay. It'll sit nicely next to Valkyrie Profile and Vagrant Story (which I also need to play through >_< ).

If I had known someone would want that game, I wouldn't have sold it to Gamestop. sweatdrop I disliked it with great intensity. And Vagrant Story was alright. If you could look past Ashley's buttless pants.

The "make your own" sounds like fun :O I've ... seen... a youtube video of something that was maybe made via that... BOMB ARROWS xd I love those!!!! I wish they were in more games! You know, they're in... yeah, you said that. Ok. Yeah. Heh. I'm so glad they're back. But y'know, something like... bomb slingshot makes a little more sense in terms of just having bombs and arrows and stickign them together. But whatever, I'm all for bending the rules. I went into the dream temple waaaaaaaaay early. I also spent 5 hours in the backseat of a car [roadtrip] cutting that field behind the shop for rupees until I had 999 and went and bought a shovel, went and filled up the deficit... then bought the bow, I think... emo I'm such a nerrrrrd... Anybody ever played Gex: Enter the Gecko? We rented that when we got the N64, and no one seems to have heard of it. My mother got addicted to it since it's an Austin Powers ripoff, but she seems to have forgotten all about it. I find that amusing. Does anyone know why they called it the N64? ninja (I'm gonna go see if I can find out faster with Wikipedia now, probably) EDIT: Apparently, it's because they used or were going to use or something about the "Ultra 64" processor, but the "Ultra" was trademarked, so they dropped that part out. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N64#Development_and_Introduction
