Akio sat quietly on the ledge of the window. The sun was setting and found this the perfect time to clean himself. He had spent a good part of the day basking in the light and now a good cleaning would make a wonderful day complete.
He yawned and stretched lazily and sat back down, changing sides to attend to his other wing. A slightly chilly breeze carressed his feathers and he smoothed them back into place thoughtlessly.
As he finished his left wing he stood once again, surveyed his coat to make sure everything was perfect and turned and jumped into the house and padded lightly to the kitchen. He jumped up to the counter, grabbed a bunch of grapes and headed back to the window sill to enjoy his dinner as the sky changed from the last light orange and red remnants to the darker purple and blue promise of night.
