Publically backlogging to make my life easier
Kisoni
Once they had found the kitlet and left her in the care of Ushuafu, Kizuka took it upon herself to take Triv'an aside as she'd planned all along. The Darker brown female climbed her way a little up the side of one of the steeper hills near the two cubs, till she found a small cliff jutting out that would hold both her and the male's weight.
The reason for this became obvious in another moment, when one look down would not only give them sight of both of the cubs, but also a good distance around them in each direction but their own. A sigh of relief escaped the lionesses chest and she smiled to herself, settling down on her haunches as she waited for Triv'an to settle. "It feels strange being back in these lands, doesn't it?"
Almost retorical in nature, the question still stood as her tail flicked half heartedy behind her--a tale tell sign of worry in Kizuka's mind. "The more I saw, the more I see, this land is cursed."

Triv'an followed easily, reliefe his only thought. The cub was fine, Kizuka was fine, and they had found no trouble yet. He had hope still, and for now he felt like he might be able to relax. Comforting, but for the knowledge that Kizuka had something on her mind.
As he settled into the area that she had led him to, a good lookout, both for the childeren and for enemies. Always thoughtful. He didn't sit, rather stood, watching her, waiting for her to tell him what was on her mind, what was bothering her.
"Yes, it is strange. Not much of a homecoming though," he said softly, a small amount of humor tinging his voice. It was true, he had not been expecting a crowd and cheering, but a little rain wasn't too much to ask, was it?
He twitched his ear at her, eyes questioning.
"What do you suggest? I don't want to walk into something dangerous, but these lands are our home. You know that if you chose to turn back down I will follow you. Trouble is as unsavory for me as it is for you, at least with Kimaji to care for."
He smilled wryly again, glancing towards his child and her company.
"Is it the Firekin?"
Kisoni
"Yes, Firekin.. and another." Kizuka shook her head, "I don't wish trouble on us, if only for Kimaji's sake. Oh Triv'an..." The female's voice trailed off with a soft, sad sigh.
"I had wanted so much for our daughter to know our home as we had... but I'm afraid we might be in a bit of a jam. We cannot turn back, I fear. There is threat in the valley, but not one so great as the threat outside. In that desert that lays close to where we came into the valley there is a tribe that is just as bad as the Firekin were. We narrowly missed them coming in, and there were implications that they might come this far into the valley as well." Though the lioness did not say as much, her eyes did roam out over their vantage point as a silent reason for why she'd chosen to speak to him up here.

"Another?"
His voice was quizical but dangerous, anger at their predicament begining to wear him down. They deserved peace. Their daughter deserved peace and freedom and innocence.
"So, do we know what is going on? What awaits us... our people? The Firekin? Is it something we can deal with? I am wondering if perhaps we just kept walking, would there be somewhere beyond where there is peace left, or is it no longer aloud... I wonder what we are paying for," he trailed off, slight depression evident in his voice.
"It looks like it doesn't matter then," he breathed, "we go in prepared for anything and see what awaits us then..."

Kizuka nodded, "I think.. perhaps we should move in further, get our back to the north mountains but stay out of the jungle for awhile." Triv'an was an incredibly patient male, Kizuka knew that, and yet she was unsure of how much of this to tell him. Having him snap would do no one any good.
In the end, her penchant for truth ended the enternal debate, "there is... a rumor that the new Mistweaver tribe we seek is Firekin bred."
Beat
"What?"
He had been nodding, easily excepting her plan. If needed he would protect them, until that time he would trust her judgements. He had no reason not to. However, that statement was too much. First, he was sure he had misheard. Shock, confuscion, a tinge of a feeling he was unused to. Betrayal. His people could not, would not associate with the Firekin.
"It must be a rumor. Just that. I can not believe it true. Never."
Kisoni
"I.. hope that you're right, Triv." Kizuka shook her head. Her eyes finally turned for a moment from the children, brown depths searching his. "But something in me fears that it is."
A sigh ripped from her throat and she shook her head, white locks spilling over one eye as she looked back down beneath them. "All this time.. all this travel... for what? To come back to a betrayal so disgusting...."
beat
He looked at her, expression softening slightly.
"Then we will find something else. We left this place once, and if nessesary we will do it again. The only thing we need to worry about is finding a safe place for us. If it is not here, then it has to be somewhere."
He sighed and sat slowly, lookin at his paws, remembering the past. A childhood of happiness with his friend in their home. It was hard to think that it no longer existed. Worse to think it tainted. It was best to hold no stock in rumors, and he knew it. But she was right, it was not something they could ignore. For something that was such a betrayal it reeked of truth.
Kisoni
"No." The lioness said softly. "No," The second time it was a little louder, more firm. "I'm not leaving this place again, Triv. Not unless i'm forced to.. if its tainted.... well, i'll just do what i can to correct that."
Kizuka looked back at him, almost as if daring him to defy her, "but all this talk is moot if its just a rumor."
Beat
His tail twitched. He didn't want to argue with her. And he knew she would not change her views even if he had. Dangerous, he should have seen it coming and tried to guide her away from it sooner! He knew her well enough, he should have seen it coming. But Triv'an was too busy trying to comprehend his homes changes to have noticed.
"Very well... let us hope it is a rumor then," he said, calm and low, and stood, feeling this conversation could only deteriorate from where it was. He shook his head slightly, and turned, heading back towards the cubs. He could feel his peace slipping away.
Kisoni
Kizuka stayed where she was, watching him go. Yes, she knew he was dissapointed in her, and while that bothered her, her mind would not waver. Not when the posible betrayal was so close to her mind, at least.
Once more the lionesses eyes turned back towards her cub and she softened a little. That little girl deserved a home. A shake of her head to clear her thoughts, and Kizuka was back to her feet. It would do no good to worry heself with all this now; what would happen would happen.
