Spring. The one season Mocha decided was the only season she would stand a chance against other mares when stallions came looking. She was hardly pretty enough, though; even Shimshek and Aruna had founds mates early on, though Aunt Aruna had gone through a lot of trouble for it. She didn't want to go through that kind of trouble; no way.

She just wanted to find "the one"... where they could both be happy and just live a peaceful, untainted life that made up Aruna's history, or Shimshek's history. They both had painful memories; she didn't, and didn't plan to. Of course, she knew if she fell hopelessly in love she'd end up suffering like her older mare family members did, but then, like them, she hoped she'd end up with a happier way of life.

Aruna had gone through a lot, but she could see her aunt was happy now; she was truly happy. After all her trials and sufferings, she was happy. Mocha wanted that satisfaction; that happiness. And thus, she found herself wandering around by her lonesome, debating over whether or not she should go and find herself a good mate... and yet, feeling insecure enough to realize that she probably didn't stand a chance like the other mares did...

Ah spring. It had to be his favorite season. Well, that and autumn. It wasn't too hot, or too cold and everything was growning and comming alive again....And the time of rabbit burrows. They seemed to be out to get him.
Snorting, he picked his way cautiously through the meadow near his forest, keeping an eye on the ground for traps hidden in the just-starting-to-get-tall grass. Granted he could just fly over it, but he liked walking through the grass, and he wasn't quite so adept at flying yet. He'd grown up in the forest and the trees got in the way more often than not when one was trying to fly. He'd rather take his chances on the ground rather than in the air. Less damage that way, in his mind.
The last thing on his mind right now was finding someone to spend his life with. He wasn't even sure what he wanted in regards to that. Oh sure, the bright stallion had seen pairs wandering through the forest, and foals running around. Having a little one to look after and take care sounded fun and finding a special someone to spend his time with was thought of wistfully...but he still wasn't sure. He'd just have to wait and see. Love seemed to be one of those things that sprung upon someone when it was least expected.
Like a rabbit burrow.

As things would have it, Mocha was in the same forest, minding her own business, mind wandering around random little things. As she walked, out of the corner of her eyes she saw a flash of gold... what? Shimshek wouldn't be in this area; last she heard, her elder "sister" had taken a gold-colored unicorn stallion "friend" into the mountains on a tour, and wouldn't be back for several days.

So, who was that she just saw? She mused for a bit, wondering if she should go and greet the stranger, or allowing him to just find her suddenly. Sighing, she deciding to go with the second option, and wandered a bit towards where she saw the other one head towards. She found she didn't really like spring, and as such, usually spent her time hiding because she found she was especially moody and picky during this time of year.

But maybe this season, this time around, she would stand a small chance at finding someone special... Yeah, wishful thinking, she thought bitterly. Flicking her tail, she stretched her wings a bit as she began to just wander around this forest; maybe she wouldn't encounter anyone special, and instead find an old friend or something... yeah, that'd be nice...

He jerked upright as he heard something moving around nearby. Letting his ears swivel slightly, he looked around to find the source of the noise. Listening was something he was good at, since he didn't have much else to do usually. A flash of white and cream that....didn't look like any forest animal he knew.
Turning, he took a detour and headed towards the strange color, tail swishing through the grass as he walked. The shape turned out to be a mare wandering about. He paused, head tilting as he watched her. He didn't say anything just yet, not wanting to startle her. Of course, he might startle her if he just stood there and watched, but he'd take his chances.

Mocha continued her wandering, nibbling at the growing grass every once in a while, not realizing she had company and that they were watching her. Wings shifting to a more comfortable position against her body, she found a little bit of grass that tasted particularly sweet and nibbled on it, not feeling too hungry.

Sighing sadly, she turned around, still not paying attention, heading towards the golden stallion without looking up. Yes, she was feeling depressed. Yes, she admitted it. Yes, she was a pathetic little mare, but oh well. It made her miss her parents and her brothers, her other family, and she wanted to go and visit a few friends, but she hadn't seen any of them in a long while, so she didn't really want to bother.

Seeing as she wasn't paying attention, she literally ran into the newcomer; wait, why hadn't he moved? She glanced up, and her breath was taken away. Mumbling apologies over and over, she stumbled back, surprised. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to do that!" she said, starting to panic a little. An alicorn!? She had the honor of meeting an alicorn and... and... she was at a loss for words.

Indu watched as the mare wandered about the grass, giving soft little sighs now and then as she nibbled listlessly at the grass. She sounded...sad almost. Maybe lonely. It was unusual to see such a pretty mare out on her own. Usually such mares have a flock of stallions following them around, keeping them company. He was curious as to why she was alone. Maybe he could find out.
Swaying slightly as he was run into, he took a step back to keep his balance, ears perked forward in amusement. "It's fine. I should have moved out of your way, m'lady." He chuckled, head dipping in a little bow. "No apology is necessary. You're not injured, are you?" He questioned, tail swishing through the grass softly.

She flushed with extreme embarrassment--and awe--as she beheld the stallion in front of her. Dipping her head, she mumbled more apologies then shoved away her sadness as she tried to get herself under control. Trying to smile a bit, she returned an unsure hello, then flushed again with more embarrassment.

"Um, I'm no lady, but, um, it's my fault, I should have j-just been paying attention... uh..." she mentally slammed her head against a tree. She sounded like an idiot! "No, I'm fine, I'm not sure, just a little surprised, um..." She dipped her head in a bow again for yet another apology. "How rude of me! I didn't introduce myself; I'm Mocha," she babbled.

She had never thought she would find herself in the company of a pure alicorn; she had heard stories, had maybe glanced at one that was possibly a half alicorn, but to have the honor to see a pure one, and a handsome one at that, really made her mind deteriorate. She was so surprised and happy and... a little overwhelmed really. What in the world was this spring season doing to her?

Watching her as she stammered and flushed, he couldn't help by grin at her. "You look like a lady to me. I have nothing to tell me otherwise." He said, shrugging muscles shoulders before shaking his head. "I said it's fine. Don't worry about it. Really." He said, chuckling and smiling at her. "Mocha. An unique name for a unique lady...I'm Indu. Pleased to make your acquaintance."
Dipping his head a little, he tilted his head at her again. "What is a pretty lady such as yourself doing all alone out here?" He asked before he could help himself, his curiousity getting better of him.
If he knew the real reason she was so flustered, he'd have not believed her. He thought he was a freak of sorts, never seeing another like himself besides his mother. He was nothing special, certainly nothing to be so flustered over. There were pleanty of more handsome stallions out there.

His grin made her face burn cherry red. Unable to fight back her blush, she could only mumble and agree along with his words, sighing as she finally accepted that he accepted her apologies. "Th-Thank you. I like your name a lot, too; Indu. It sounds... mysterious." She managed to smile a bit, but she faltered as he asked her why she was by herself.

"This time of year I usually am by myself," she explained. "I don't have anyone special or anything, so I just hide and uh, hang out with friends if they're around." She was too embarrassed to say that she didn't have any stallions that sought after her. "So, uh, what brings you around here, Indu?" Unless he lived around here, that is...

"Thanks. I'm rather fond of it myself." He replied, giving another little grin as he watched her. "Means something I can't remember right now. It'll come to me eventually though." He mused, glancing away back at the woods briefly.
"Alone? I'm surprised. Such a stunning mare like yourself should have plenty of stallions following you around." He said before he could catch himself. "Umm, I mean. It's just surprising." He said, flushing slightly in embaressment.
Pawing the ground, he glanced over to the woods again. "I live there. With my father and another stallion." He said with a shrug. "What about you? Just wandering around, exploring?" Indu questioned, ears flattening briefly before perking as there was a particularly loud bird call from the woods.

"You like spring?" She asked, a bit surprised. Well, okay, there were probably a lot of reasons, but she didn't really like this season that much. "Huh?" His explanation only made her more confused... At his next words, she could swear her entire face was inflamed now, to the very tip of her ears. She was probably redder than a tomato. "Um, well, I don't," she said a little loftily.

"I don't see how it's surprising; I'm really, um, not that pretty," she said, an ear swerving back and forth in nervousness. "Oh, you live there? Well, it would explain a lot and how you happen to be here, heheheheh." She laughed out of nervousness there, too. Alicorns were rare and few between, and to find herself in the presence of one... she still couldn't get over it and felt quite not-so-confident about herself all over again.

...and the alicorn in front of her was a stallion, at that. A handsome one.

"Mmhmm. I like seeing all the things growing. The weather is usually perfect too, not too hot, not to cold." He explained, smiling at her before looking away. He didn't want to embaress her any further. Mocha looked ready to crawl into a hole or something. Indu didn't need to make it any worse.
The yellow stallion flattened his ears at her words, giving a snort. "Of course you are. Who's told you differently?" He asked, looking angry. If anyone was rude to this lovely mare, telling her such things like she wasn't pretty, he'd have to hurt them. That was just something you never told any lady. It just wasn't the right thing to do.
Calming slightly, he shrugged and watched the forest with a half smile. "It's home. But sometimes I would rather life elsewhere." He said, laughing softly. "Do you want me to show you around?" Came his next question, ears perking and tail swishing softly through the grass, watching her curiously.

She took a huge gulp of air and sighed, finally managing to regain her original color. “Oh, that’s why you like spring?” she asked, slowly warming up to him. He was friendly, and not particularly uppity and feeling superior to her. She knew a few Soquili like that, but she wouldn’t say any names. She was slowly starting to kind of like him, too. “Oh, uh, no one, I just don’t feel particularly pretty…” With Indu looking that angry, she feared for Shimshek’s life.

“I guess you can say I’m just not confident of myself, Indu,” she said, smiling despite her depression. She really didn’t have a clue why she felt that way, and it really wasn’t that Shimshek’s words from long ago hurt her… it just kind of came to her when she realized that she didn’t really stand much of a chance with the other mares, who had stallions flocking all over them like bees with a particularly nice flower. She perked up at his question.

“I’d love to go on a tour around your home,” she said, looking around. “I’m sure it’s fascinating in ways I probably wouldn’t look at. Sure, Indu.” She needed some cheering up anyway. She flicked her tail a bit, shifted her wings; if she was to go on a tour of this lovely part of the Soquili world, she ought to make herself get ready to enjoy it. And she admitted it would be nice to be escorted by a male for a leisurely walk, and not be the one trying to go after the male; just a friendly little thing… yeah… she shut away the sudden depression that came with that thought.

"Mmmhmm." He hummed absently, giving a nod of his head as he watched her regain her normal coloring. He had to make a note not to embaress her like that again. She got rather flustered, didn't she? Frowning, he eyed her almost suspiciously as she said no-one, but shrugged. "You tell me if anyone does. I'll teach them they should be polite to pretty ladies." He said, giving the ground a little stomp before smiling at her.
"You should be confident in yourself and never let anyone tell you otherwise. You get more out of life that way." Came his kind words, head tilting as he watched her. He'd never encountered anyone that didn't have confidence in themselves. Granted, his list of meetings was limited, and it seemed he was always learning something new abuot the world around him.
Tossing his head to rid his eyes of the braid that had fallen into them, he snorted as he heard her answer. "It's not particularly interesting." He explained as he started to walk, glancing at her to see if she was following. "Just watch your step. The forest likes to trip the unsuspecting sometimes and I wouldn't want you to get hurt." He chuckled, eyeing the ground as he took heed of his own warning.

She smiled a bit more now, trying to regain her old confidence when she was a filly, and flinched slightly at his frown, but when he shrugged it off, she sighed softly in relief. "Of course, Indu, if you're around and I see you often," she said, smiling widely despite how ironic it would be if someone told her that and he wasn't around at all; what if he didn't know who that Soquili was? Well, it did make her feel better... if a little.

"I guess I should; when I was younger life felt so much more brighter because I had boundless confidence," she agreed, hazel eyes slightly dull as she remembered the old days. Days when she didn't know much of the real world and enjoyed just letting go of worries, worries that were just taking baths and escaping from her guardians. "Are you sure it's not--" Although he had warned her, she hadn't been too careful and ended up tripping into a rabbit burrow.

Of all the... embarrassed at her lack of attention, she quickly steadied herself, only to find herself slipping suddenly on a rock, and she ended up landing on her side, thoroughly shaken. Shaking her head to clear it, feeling a little dizzy from her clumsiness, she smiled up at Indu sheepishly. "Oops. I should pay attention more! You even warned me, too." What an interesting day this was turning out to be...
