((No, actually, they're in a mysterious part of the forest, where the sunlight barely shines through and a small brook sparkles with a strange light. The trees around this area are crowded together, and many rocks are strewn about.
PRP for Heartbreak and Cerus.))
Heartbreak sat on a rock overlooking the brook, watching the water twinkle. She didn't know why it shone that way. Maybe there was some kind of mineral in there, like gold...

Cosy, warm.... Darkness, relaxation.... Peaceful and.... WET!!!
"ARGH!!!"
Cerus squealed in a very unmanly way as he jumped to his feet, breathing heavily. He must have rolled into the brook in his sleep. Shivering and grumbling, he shook himself off. He sighed slightly and looked around. It was daylight, but it was dark in this place he had fallen asleep. Cerus shook his head and decided to pad along the brook until he warmed up again.

Heartbreak's ears jolted upwards as they picked up a high squeal. She almost unsheathed her claws, incase it might be an enemy, but she tried to calm herself down. Overreacting is not the way to go.
"Probably just a mouse or rabbit that fell into the stream." Heartbreak muttered to herself quietly. Still, she couldn't shake off the feeling that it could be something bigger. Much bigger.
Sighing, she jumped off the rock and glanced around the area for any moving shadows.

Cerus mumbled to himself as he walked. He was so glad that no-one had seen him do that... Especially not a female. Especially not her.
"She would never let me hear the last of it..." He chuckled, shaking his head slightly. Then, he froze as he looked back up. A flash of bright, neon pink. You've got to be kidding me! Cerus couldn't believe his luck. With a slightly evil grin on his face, Cerus lowered himself and slinked towards the familiar tail that danced off in front of him. As he neared, his grin widened and he pounced.

Heartbreak's instincts took over as her claw flashed out, and she swiped them at whatever's pouncing on her. It happened so fast from the time when she heard the steps of another Modifox, that she didn't give enough time for her eyes to recgonize the fellow.
"You!" Heartbreak spat out.

Cerus roared in pain as a flash of crimson followed the burning pain in his thigh. He rolled to the ground and snarled slightly.
"Geez, Heartbreak, chill out!" Cerus snapped, growling. He looked as his leg as fresh blood sepped out of the sizeable wound she had left him with.

Heartbreak sheathed her claws and snarled at Cerus. "You shouldn't have been sneaking up on me in the first place. It was a horrible attempt to do so anyway." But seeing the gushing blood from his leg, she managed to mutter a slurred apology to him anyway.

Cerus winced as he stood up. He tested his leg, wrinkling his nose at the sharp pain that shot up his leg everytime he put any weight on it.
"There was no need to cripple me... I figured you'd have known it was me anyway..." He looked over at her, his foot placed gingerly down on the floor. "What the hell had you so distracted anyway?"

"Distracted?" Heartbreak glared at Cerus as she said the sole word. "I was not distracted. It was reflex. Often times when someone sneaks up on you, it would be for the worst of you." Her mind was beginning to calm down and she became less angry. "And if I hadn't regocnized you before I struck, more that your leg would be hurting right now."

Cerus limped towards her slightly and placed a paw on the rock she was on.
"If you weren't distracted, then what were you staring at oh so intently?" Cerus asked, looking her straight in the eyes. "Usually, someone like you would have spotted me before I got as close as I did..."

Heartbreak's ear twitched in irritation that he was quite right. She would've seen him coming under normal circumstances. But she wasn't that eager to tell him that.
"I wasn't looking at anything special." She said back to Cerus. Her eyes gave way and kept shifting their focus to the brook though.

Cerus caught her eyes moving slightly and he padded around the rock and looked at the rook. "Something in here caught that eye of yours? Cause Modeities know that's a damn hard thing to do sometimes..." He looked around, before mumbling the last line under his breath. He stared into the water, unable to see anything groundbreaking. He looked back to her, an eyebrow lifted.

Heartbreak trotted to the river's edge, expecting to see the sparkling that was there before. Strangely enough though, they weren't there. The river looked like an ordinary river.
She tilted her head to the side and back, thinking that the light was to be at the right angle. Nothing happened.
Glancing at Cerus before sighing, Heartbreak tentivly dipped a paw into the water and swirled the bottom around. "There was something in here. It's gone now though..."

Cerus cocked his head with a grin. "You been drinking stagnant water or something?" He teased, his grin still visible.
"What you doing out here, anyways?"

"Stagnent? No. Why would I be drinking such a thing anyway?" Heartbreak swished her tail angerly and looked up at Cerus.
"I'm not doing anything special here. Just lounging around like I would do in any other area. What are you doing though?"
