So today, Linkin Parks brand new Single from Minuets to Midnight entitled What I've Done came out. For those of you who have heard it already, I would like to know what you think. Love it? Hate it? Indifferent? Think they could do better? Not Hard enough? Beautifully done? I heard WID this morning on my way to school and personally, it ruined my day. I was very disappointed. I found it very generic and mainstream with uninspiring lyrics. To be even more honest, I felt like crying. Chester sings the entire song, which I do not have a problem with. But I do have a problem with his quality of singing. Anyone who has listened to My December, Push Me Away, Easier to Run ect. knows the beautiful perfection of Chester Bennington's singing. This song does not show that at all.
However, Warner Brothers chooses the singles, NOT LINKIN PARK. Therefore, Im willing to bet the rest of the album is not so BLAH and average. I hope the album changes my thoughts, because right now, Im ready to kill Rick Rubin. EDIT BY MEL: Video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12gDr5ojFmo&mode=related&search=
I like the vid because it's all I stand for. The song ******** up my day >.O

I thought at first that i didnt like it that much, because the music in the begining drowns out Chester at times but it gets better . Yet i still hope that the new cd will have better songs.

Sadly, I'm actually disappointed. Their sound has definately changed, but this one song can't really help me decide if it was for better or for worse. I don't hate the song, but it just doesn't grab my attention like some other LP songs. It did, however, made me more curious about what Minutes to Midnight will sound like in its entirety.

I like it. Video is so so. It has meaning, like the rest of what they do.
Meh, I am a tiny bit upset that Mike's vocals weren't in there. I mean from the sounds of it, perhaps he did backup, but that might be it. -sigh- There's people saying this album will hit rock bottom for Linkin Park. I've been really anticipating this album, as much as any one else here. Listening to one song, isn't going to change my judgment of the album. Because really, I have no say if the album is bad or not. I haven't listened to the entire album, so why judge?
Until it hits stores, in my eyes, once you've purchased it, one's got the right to say it's a waste of money or one nice piece of artwork, that 6 guys work their asses off. Six inspiring, intelligent guys.
To lay it straight forward, all this negativity is starting to bug me. Simply need to get that out, I guess..
Like I said WID is okay. I can repeatedly listen to it and not get annoyed. It would be nice to have tracks on Minutes To Midnight that I instantly fall in love with, like in Meteora, Hybrid Theory, Reanimation ect.

I completely agree. I had heard that this album would be MUCH MUCH more progressive than what they have released in the past. I wanted to break something when I heard Rick Rubin was producing it, I just don't think he's the right person for LP. neutral

Yea.....
The more I listen to it, the song actually kinda pisses me off. Maybe its just my drastic change of taste in music since Meteora (which I still enjoy ^_^) but this song just rubs me the wrong way. Arrangement-wise, its not pretty bad. Lyric-wise, I'm still not completely sure what the hell Chester is saying so I've no opinion there. What I don't have from this song is the good old Mike/Chester vocals and the screaming. I know there most likely will be more of that on the actual album and I'm not that scared about the outcome of it. I don't blame LP for what they're doing since I'm sure if this album fails, they'll learn from their mistakes and just move on like any good band would. All I know is, I'm definitely gonna skip this song more often once I get my hands on the whole album.

Linkin Parks music has always stood out from every other mainsteam half-assed song. Theres nothing special or AWE INSPIRING about it, like their music usually is.

Mostly about the new album at least.. I happen to be in love with WID.

i think this Song is From The Best songs They have (if it wasn't the Best) cause the band sounds Really different , The drums are much more raw, the guitars are more raw and the vocals aren't tripled Like What Chester said , the Music Video is so cool , the Band Looks so coool , Chester Looks So So Cool
