Hrmm, I have a general idea about what most of the songs on Toxicity mean, except for one. Does anybody have any idea what Forest is about? That one just confuses the hell out of me.

That's such a tough one... -ponders- A lot of people think it has a religious meaning. But I got no clue.

Yeah, I've heard that it had something to do between God and Jesus, but that wasn't official, just a fairly common guess. But I've also read that some interviewer guy asked Serj about Forest and Serj said, "Someone looks at his mind the way a ***** looks at a child"........but that just makes it even more confusing.

I've always questioned what aerials was about - ever since I heard somebody say that it was about a retarded kid or something like that.

Yeah aerials is a tough one to figure out. I'll post an intrepatation ( i can't spell) of that song later. I was thinking about what shimmy is about earlier today, and I think I've got a good idea. Shimmy talks about how throughout our young lives we are tought to subjagate to the laws and attitudes of society. The line that goes education, fornication in you are go, is saying that your thrown into school, and educated to be a product of society than you will eventually have kids and make them products of society. and the lines doctranation of or nation basically state that when we're young were always told how great our country is. So all and all I think the songs basically about the fact that we're raised to please and fit into what our society wants. School is used to mold us into what society deems we should be. Yeah its a little confusing, i confused myself while writing this, but i tried xd

I thinks that some of it is about a schizophrenic person, who doesn't think he's schizophrenic, and this guy normal and the voice in his head is some kind of criminal mastermind, and everything good is happening to him because he's got all these ideas about war and s**t (forest of denial turns to wine ^^)...but then he [voice in head], takes over or something and all this crazy s**t happens with the world (make this forest turn to sand-his good luck with his ideas blow away like a sand storm] and he becomes some kind of dictator or [insert person having to do with politics and guns and crap]........? I'm not good at interpretations.. but I think this is the best I can do with this song rolleyes heart

It's really interesting how people come up with different interpretations yet good ideas. 3nodding I believe it's the 'religion thing' more, though.

Helga_the_strong I've always questioned what aerials was about - ever since I heard somebody say that it was about a retarded kid or something like that. i always thought it was about life and human nature, because we are thrown into this thing we can't control,"life is a waterfall."and then before we know it its over. "Swimming through the void We hear the word, We lose ourselves, But we find it all" is like how we tend to believe what others say and strive to be accepted, even if it means we arnt true to ourselves. void is the nothing that is everything. and "Always want to play, But you never want to lose." describes human nature too, its fine as long as your winning, but not if you lose.. "We drink from the river, Then we turn around and put up our walls." is greed, if you find something good you don't whant to share, you hide it.. "Aerials, in the sky, When you lose small mind, You free your life." i think this means if you can see beyond the lies of others you will be free, and "Aerials, so up high, When you free your eyes, Eternal prize." when your mind is free you will be happy..
