Sith Lords

AJUNTA PALL Dark Lord of the Sith. Ajunta Pall was one of the first great Sith Lords. He was one of the Jedi that first rebelled against the old Light Side teachings in favor of the Dark Side. They rebelled against their Jedi Masters and were eventually driven off into hiding. It was then that the outcast Jedi encountered the Sith race and began building their empire. He was famed to have created a sword of terrible Dark Side power. The sword is rumored to still lie within his tomb on Korriban.

SIMUS Lord of the Sith. Marka Ragons defeated Simus and became the next Dark Lord

MARKA RAGNOS Dark Lord of the Sith. Ruled approximately 5,200 years before Darth Vader. Ragnos was a hafl-breed Sith, a warlord of tremendous physical power and frightening grasp of the Dark Side of the Force. He rose to prominence through a series of short, ruthless campaigns against his enemies. Once he gained control of the Sith Empire, he maintained dominance by pitting his detractors against one another, manipulating them into challening him, or simply assassinating them. Among the Sith, Marka Ragnos was feared, obeyed, and admired. Marka Ragnos retained power for over a century, crushing all resistance - but he expanded the Sith Empire only slightly in all that time. Ragnos was one of the few Sith alive who had researched the history of his people and knew of the Old Republic and its defenders, the Jedi Order. Ragnos knew that if the Sith Empire were to expand too far toward their ancestral home, they would encounter the Republic. He believed the Sith were not yet ready to enter into a protracted war with the forces of the Republic, especially if the Jedi were still as strong as they had been when they defeated his ancestors. Obviously, his views were not shared by all the Sith. Many was his lack of expansion as a sign of weakness and took it as an opportunity - a justification, even - to unseat the Dark Lord of the Sith. At fist irate that the other Sith would so blindly endanger his empire with their ambition, over time Ragnos came to realize that while they were focusing their efforts on him, they were not actually expanding the borders of the Sith Empire, and thus, not precipitating contact with the Republic. Marka Ragnos elected to play to the aggression of the other Sith, to distract them from making a mistake that could bring the Sith Empire to ruin.

NAGA SADOW Dark Lord of the Sith. "He ruled approximately a thousand years before the time of Exar Kun. A member of an elite priesthood of pure Sith blood." At the funeral of the previous Dark Lord of the Sith, Sadow chalenged his arch-rival, Ludo Kressh, for the title of the next Dark Lord. Sadow felt the Sith Empire was stagnating and should expand its territory, while Kressh wanted a more isolationist approach to governing the Sith Empire. The duel was interupted by the arrival of Gav and Jori Daragon, unlucky explorers that hyperspaced to the wrong place. Kressh wanted them executed as precursors to an invasion, but Sadow saw it as an oportunity to expand the Sith Empire. Gav and Jori waited in their cells, sentenced to be executed, despairing . . . not realizing that they had become pawns of a Sith Lord. With his fierce loyal Massassi warriors, Naga Sadow secretly stole strange Republic weaponry from Gav and Jori's impounded ship, Starbreaker 12, and staged a commando raid to free the prisoners, killing a prominent Sith Lord in the process. Sadow whisked them off to his private fortress. The Sith Lords were thrown into an uproar, seeing the weapons, the evidence, and assuming they had been attacked by Republic forces. In turmoil, they turned to Naga Sadow for leadership and named him the Dark Lord of the Sith. Outraged, Ludo Kressh stormed off, taking his supporters with him. Discovering Sadow's trickery, Kressh mounted an armed rebellion against the evil Dark Lord, vowing to fight to save the Sith Empire from Sadow's reckless plans. While attacking Sadow's decoy fortress on Khar Shian, Kressh had inadvertantly waltzed into an ambush set by the Dark Lord. With Ludo Kressh out of the way, Naga Sadow rallied all the Sith Lords for the comming conquest. During Kressh's attack, Sadow had tricked Jori into fleeing back to the Republic without her brother, who was being held elsewhere, and with a hidden homing beacon led Naga Sadow right to the Republic. He began teaching the Force-sensitive Gav Sith magic, and later gave him command of the Sith invasion fleet; Sadow himself would watch the battle from his meditation sphere orbiting Primus Goluud, where he used forbidden Sith magic to rally his forces and create the illusion of a more massive invasion force than it actually was. But Gav could not stand being the commander causing all the death and destruction, and instead attacked Sadow himself. With his meditation sphere damaged, his Massassi armies began losing, and the Republic fleet set out to hunt down Sadow. Causing the Primus Goluud star to explode, Sadow tried to hide his escape back to the Sith Empire. In Sadow's absence, Ludo Kressh retook control of the Sith Empire and had his fleet waiting for Sadow's return. But Kressh's fleet was still no match for Sadow's already depleated fleet. Just as Sadow destroyed Kressh's ship, and Ludo Kressh with it, the Republic fleet arrived, led there by Jori. "He escaped across the galaxy, engaging Republic gunships in a cataclysmic battle at the Denarii Nova. Eventually, he and his followers ended up on Yavin Four, with his followers devolving into the primitive Massassi warriors over the centuries.

EXAR KUN Dark Lord of the Sith. As a Jedi, he was apprenticed to Master Vodo-Siosk Baas, who admitted that Kun was the most formidable student he ever had. He was seduced by the dark side and drawn to the planet Korriban, where the spirit of Freedon Nadd enticed him to let the dark powers of the Sith enter him. On Yavin Four, he discovered ancient Sith temples guarded by the Massassi, whom he eventually conquered. He confronted Master Odan-Urr in the library of Ossus, and after killing him, took the Sith Holocron in order to further his dark powers. Four thousand years before the time of Darth Vader, Kun precipitated the Sith War which was one of the most destructive conflicts in the entire history of the Republic. With the help of Ulic Qel-Droma, the Krath illusionist Aleema, and the warlord Mandalore they built up an army that rivaled the Republic's own. While Ulic and Mandalore waged a huge military battle against Republic outposts, shipyards, and eventually Coruscant itself, Kun was busy seducing other Jedi trainees to the Dark Side to do his bidding. With his new Sith initiates, Kun waged a covert war against what he called the aging and outdated Jedi Masters, sending them out to kill their old Jedi masters. During the attack on Coruscant, Ulic Qel-Droma was captured and later charged with treason against the Republic. In the middle of his trial, Ulic was rescued by Kun and Mandalore as they barged into the courtroom filled with thousands of Jedi that were imobilized by Kun's Sith spell. During the rescue, Exar Kun killed his old master Vodo-Siosk Baas in a rematch of their previous duel in which his master won. Exar Kun later sent the treacherous Aleema to Kemplex Nine with the intent to ambush the Republic/Jedi forces using an ancient Sith superweapon that was aboard Naga Sadow's ship, recently unearth from the Yavin temples. The weapon tore the core of a sun in the Cron Cluster and hurled it at the Republic fleet, but also caused the sun to catastrophically supernova, destroying everything in the system including the Great Jedi Library on Ossus. The war ended with all the Jedi banding together and laying waste to most of Yavin 4, but not before Exar Kun absorbed the life-energies of the entire Massassi race to entomb his spirit in a Sith Temple. Four thousand years later when Luke Skywalker establishes his Jedi Academy on Yavin 4, Kun once again made his bid for galaxy domination by attempting to sway Luke's new trainees to the Dark Side. Exar Kun almost succeeded with Kyp Durron, but not before Luke, the Jedi trainees, and the spirit of Master Bodo Baas together destroyed Kun's spirit forever.

DARTH RIVAN Lord of the Sith. Rivan lived during the time of the Sith War. He is most notable for teraforming the planet Almas. Originally an inhospitable planet with a molten core and an ice covered crust. The atmosphere consisted primarily of methane and phosphorus. Darth Rivan chose Almas for his home and he built a fortress partly underground, and enclosed the whole in a dome. An expert in biology and Sith alchemy, Rivan created a new grass-like plant called kaluthin, and spread it across the planet's surface. Kaluthin's unique properties include the ability to synthesize methane from the air and create oxygen. Darth Rivan was driven from Almas by the Jedi during the Sith Wars, and his dome-like home blasted into pieces. The central fortress remained, somehow impervious to blaster fire. The Jedi, thinking that the fortress was not worth the continued effort, decided to leave it. Centuries passed, and the kaluthin continued to prosper. They spread across the whole planet and eventually made the atmosphere partially breathable, except for trace elements of methane and phosphorus which made the air slightly poisonous. On one side planet, however, there is a desolate wasteland where even kaluthin cannot grow anymore. The center of this wasteland is the ancient Sith fortress. Slowly, the wasteland grows...

DARTH TRAYA (Kreia) Lord of the Sith. Darth Traya discovered an academy on Malachor V known as the Trayus Academy. The academy was apparently an ancient Sith ruin, so it is unknown if Traya named the academy after herself, or herself after the academy. It is quite possible that the existence of this structure might have been why the Mandalorians treated Malachor V with religious reverence. Among her students were Darth Nihilus and Darth Sion. Even when she was a Sith, Traya had some notion that neither the light nor dark side of the Force was superior to the other. Because her teachings incorporated light side concepts (she never believed in power or destruction for its own sake), Sion and Nihilus grew weary of her. They betrayed her, but she either escaped or was allowed to live.

DARTH TRAYA (Atris) Lord of the Sith The second Darth Traya was the Jedi Master, Atris. She had fallen to the Dark Side long before she took the role of Darth, but could not accept it. After the original Darth Traya had fallen, she encountered Atris, and caused her to give in to the Dark Side. Traya was defeated by an exile Jedi, thus throwing the the title Lord of the Sith into the hands of Sion, or Nihilus.

DARTH REVAN Dark Lord of the Sith
DARTH MALAK Dark Lord of the Sith.
Following the Sith War and the fall of Exar Kun, the Republic was at its most vulnerable state. Sensing this weakness, the warlike Mandalorians began a series of brutal attacks against worlds throughout the Outer Rim. In desperation, the Republic turned to the Jedi Council for aid. The learned Masters wanted to proceed with customary caution and due care before embarking on a long and destructive military campaign; however, more immediate help came in the form of two young Jedi Knights named Revan and Malak. Ignoring the dictates of the Jedi Council, the charismatic pair recruited many to their cause, rallying the impulsive youth of the Order with cries of victory and glory. With Revan and Malak at the head of their great fleet, the Republic set forth to drive the invaders back. The Mandalorian Wars were long and bloody, and many Jedi perished in the struggle. Yet, at its end, the Republic emerged triumphant, and Revan and Malak were hailed as heroes. But the heroes did not leave the war untouched; something about the Outer Rim worlds twisted and corrupted them. On Korriban, Revan uncovered the lost secrets of the Sith and became the heir to an ancient and evil legacy. Succumbing to the lure of the dark side, the fallen Jedi assumed the title of Darth Revan, Lord of the Sith. Malak was chosen as the Dark Lord's apprentice, and the great fleet under their control abandoned the Republic and swore fealty to their new Sith masters. With their army of followers, Revan and Malak returned not as saviors, but as conquerors. For two years battles raged on the perimeters of Republic space. The Sith gained victory after victory, until the Jedi set a trap to capture Revan and Malak. But during the chaos of battle, Malak turned on his master and tried to destroy both Revan and the Jedi, but his plan failed. Revan was captured by the Jedi, while Malak escaped and proclaimed himself the new Dark Lord, swearing revenge on the Jedi and Revan. But the Jedi had other plans. They used the brain-washed Revan to help track down Malak. On the ancient Star Forge station, Master and former-apprentice faced off one last time, ending in Malak's defeat.

DARTH BANDON Lord of the Sith. "Like most of Malak's followers, Bandon was once a student of the Jedi. But though the Force flowed through him, Bandon could never accept the Jedi teachings. Powerful emotions like anger and hate raged within him, and they fueled his strength. When the Sith rose to power, Bandon rejected his old Master and fled to the Sith Academy on Korriban. There he embraced the dark side and the way of the Sith with every fiber of his being. His great strength in the Force, his natural cruelty and his absolute ruthlessness in his quest for power soon set him apart from his fellow students, and drew the calculating eye of Lord Malak himself. In the tradition of their order, Malak sought a single pupil from among his many followers to become his chosen apprentice: one who could learn the terrible secrets of the Sith and use them to destroy the Jedi and the Republic. So far, Darth Bandon has proven himself to be an excellent choice. Many Jedi have fallen beneath the blade of his lightsaber, and he has yet to meet his equal in combat. In time, Bandon may even challenge Malak for the mantle of Dark Lord, for this is the way of the Sith: the strong must rule, and when the apprentice surpasses the Master, the Master must fall. But such ambitions are for the future. For now, Bandon is focused on the destruction of the Republic and the slaughter and extinction of the entire Jedi Order.

DARTH NIHILUS Lord of the Sith. Darth Nihilus consumes the Force from Force-sensitives in order to stay alive. He can even consume entire Force-sensitive planets. Little is known of Nihilus's true beginnings, other than the fact that he was a survivor of the Mandalorian Wars, and may or may not have at one point been a prisoner of the Mandalorians. After the war he was found by Darth Traya to be Force-sensitive, and she began training him in the ways of the Sith at the Trayus Academy on Malachor V. After his true powers and potential were realized, Nihilus, along with fellow Sith student Darth Sion, plotted and turned against their dark mistress Traya. They cast Traya down, stripped her of her power, and expelled her from the Sith Order. Nihilus and Sion had now begun their shadow war against the remnants of the Jedi Order. They hunted Jedi to the brink of extinction. He was defeated on the bridge of his ship, the Ravager, by the exiled Jedi.

DARTH SION Lord of the Sith. Darth Sion was Sith Lord during the time Darth Nihilus was as wel. It is probably the only time there was more than one Sith Lord. Darth Sion was a former apprentice of Darth Traya (Kreia). He is visually and mentally a wreck, his body is completely shattered, and he only has one eye. Still, he fights, vowing to never give up. He was defeated in the depths of the Trayus Academy on Malachor V, by the exiled Jedi.

LORD KAAN Lord of the Sith. Self-proclaimed leader of all the Sith Lords, Kaan led the Sith army against the Jedi in their final stand on Ruusan. When outright battle would not win the war, Darth Bane brought the Sith Lords together for a Dark Side meld. While lowly Sith minions engaged the Jedi in battle, the Sith Lords combined their Dark Side powers and began to annihilate the battlefield with Dark Side energy. However, Kaan had other ideas. Breaking the meld and insulting Bane, Kaan took the other Sith Lords to ambush the Jedi while they were recovering from the Dark Side energy assault, wanting to kill the Jedi with their own hands. Jedi reinforcements arrive just as the Sith Lords attack and drive them off. Beaten yet again, Kaan desperately decides to work together with the other Sith Lords (as long as HE is leading them) and plans to detonate a thought bomb. Delusional of their own power, Kaan thinks that the Sith are strong enough to withstand the detonation of the bomb. As the Jedi army corners the Sith Lords in a cavern, Kaan detonates the thought bomb, killing all the Jedi and Sith... save one, Darth Bane.

QORDIS Lord of the Sith. Very little is known of Qordis. Darth Bane encountered the spirit of Qordis on Dxun, a moon of Onderon.

DARTH BANE Lord of the Sith. Two thousand years before Palpatine's Empire, a group of Jedi broke from the order to form their own Sith order. Believing that true power lay not in the Light Side of the Force, but in the Dark, they waged a bloody war against the Jedi. Based on ambition that excluded the sharing of power, the Sith began conspiring against each other, undermining their own war against the Jedi. He had adopted patience as a virtue when the others had forsaken it. He had adopted cunning, stealth, and subterfuge as the foundation of his way - old Jedi vitrues the others had disdained. He stood aside while the Sith tore at each other for supremacy. The Jedi/Sith war came to a climax on the planet Ruusan, where both armies were taking great losses. Knowing that the only way to defeat the Jedi was by working together, Bane proposed a Dark Side meld to combine their Sith powers. While lowly Sith minions engaged the Jedi in battle, the Sith Lords, channeling through Darth Bane, combined their Dark Side powers and began to annihilate the battlefield with Dark Side energy. However, Lord Kaan had other ideas. Breaking the meld and insulting Bane, Kaan took the other Sith Lords to ambush the Jedi while they were recovering from the Dark Side energy assault, wanting to kill the Jedi with their own hands. Kaan and the Sith Lords were driven off when Jedi reinforcements arrived. In desperation, Kaan planned to detonate a thought bomb and destroy all the Jedi at once, feeling the Sith Lords powerful enough to withstand the bomb's effects. As the Jedi army cornered the Sith Lords in a cavern, Kaan detonated the thought bomb, killing all the Jedi and Sith... save one, Darth Bane. When the carnage was complete, he went into hiding, biding his time, waiting for his chance. Bane was forced to crash-land on Dxun, a moon of Onderon, and encountered the spirit of Dark Lord Qordis. He discovered a concentrated region of Dark Side power on the moon and a Sith holocron, and used these resources to build his own power. When the Jedi believed all of the Sith destroyed, he emerged form his concealment, and began training his apprentice. But there would only be two at any one time. There would be no repetition of the mistakes of the old cult. Their common enemy was the Jedi, not each other. It was for their war with the Jedi they must save themselves.

DARTH ANDEDDU Lord of the Sith. A Sith Holocron created by Darth Andeddu was discovered on Korriban by agents of Darth Tyranus and delivered to him approximately 16 months after the Battle of Geonosis.

DARTH PLAGUEISDark Lord of the Sith. A very powerful Sith Master, Plagueis learned how to use the Dark Side to control the very midi-chlorians that influence the Force. With this ability he was able to manipulate the Force to create and extend life. It is unknown how long Darth Plagueis lived, but even with this great power he could not prevent his own death. He was killed in his sleep by his apprentice, Darth Sidious.

DARTH SIDIOUS (Senator/Emperor Palpatine)Dark Lord of the Sith. A native of the planet Naboo, Palpatine worked his way up in politics to become that sector's senator on the Galactic Senate. Unbeknownst to everyone, Palpatine also learned the ways of the Dark Side of the Force and became a Sith Lord. Palpatine played both sides to gain all the power he could. As Sith Lord he began building his dark empire, scheming and causing problems for the rest of the galaxy. As senator he feigned to solve those same problems while at the same time gaining more political support. 32 years before the first Death Star was destroyed, collaborating with the Trade Federation Palpatine instigated an invasion of his home planet of Naboo that caused an uproar in the Galactic Senate. The Trade Federation, Sidious' pawns, failed and the invasion was defeated, but for Senator Palpatine it was a success; The result was his being elected to Supreme Chancellor of the Republic, replacing Chancellor Valorum with a no-confidence vote. During that same campaign, Palpatine sent his apprentice, Darth Maul, to kill the Jedi Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi who were meddling in his plans. Maul was killed by Obi-Wan, but not before he killed Obi-Wan's master, Qui-Gon. Palpatine wasted not time, and quickly found another apprentice to further his work: Count Dooku. Unsatisfied with the Jedi Order, Dooku was quickly turned to the Dark Side and began helping his master with Galactic conquest. Dooku learned of the Republic's clone army on Kamino that was ordered by Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas. With the Jedi Master's death before anyone else in the Republic could find out about the army, Palpatine instructed the Count to ensure the Republic's army remained a secret. The Republic would not find out about its clone army for another 10 years. In that time, Palpatine's power and supporters grew in the Senate, and Dooku began convincing sector after sector to secede from the Republic to join his Separatist movement. With tension rising between the Republic and the Separatists, just as war was about to flash, the Senate voted emergency power to Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. Using his new-found power, Palpatine ordered the use of the clone army in stopping the Separatists. Thus began the Clone Wars. Throughout the War, more and more power was passed from the Senate to the Supreme Chancellor in the name of expediency in making military decisions. As the war ended, Palpatine fabricated a Jedi plot to overthrow the Republic, giving a "legitimate" reason to the Senate for eradicating the Jedi. In his victory speech to the Senate on the defeat of the Separatists and the Jedi he outlined his plan for a new Galactic Empire... with himself as Galactic Emperor. Taking Anakin Skywalker as his apprentice, renamed Darth Vader, they ruled the galaxy through fear. These two Lords of the Sith instigated the great Jedi Purge that all but wiped out the Jedi order. Palpatine would later disband the Galactic Senate, furthering the seeds of rebellion against his magnificent Empire. Emperor Palpatine entrusted Vader with the annihilation of the Rebellion that had risen against him. During that time he also commanded Vader to give Luke Skywalker an ultimatum: "Join us, or die!" Above the moon of Endor, in the final battle of the Galactic Civil War, Emperor Palpatine was killed when Darth Vader threw him into the Death Star II's reactor core. Luke Skywalker had managed to bring his father back to the Light Side, to the dismay of the Emperor. For six years after the Battle of Endor, it was believed that the Emperor was no more. Utilizing Sparti Cloning Cylinders left over from the Clone Wars, the Emperor had the foresight to clone himself. It was into one of these clones that he transferred his spirit at the instant his mortal body was thrown into the reactor core by Vader. Six years after that fateful day, the Emperor emerged from hiding with a new army to conquer the galaxy. Utilizing super-weapons like the World Devastators and the Galaxy Gun, Palpatine made another bid for galactic domination. His last clone was finally destroyed and the Emperor was finally gone. Many years after, it seemed like the Emperor had returned yet again; But it was just a small group of Imperial Royal Guards that were using the Emperor's persona to their own gain, splicing holo-footage to make it appear as if the Emperor were alive.

DARTH MAUL Lord of the Sith. Darth Maul was a weapon forged by the hateful energies of the dark side to ensure the victory of the Sith over the Jedi order. A creature of pure evil, Maul had no personality beyond his ultimate devotion to his master, Darth Sidious. His goal was singular -- to exact vengeance upon the Jedi for the decimation of the Sith ranks. Born on Iridonia, his training was harsh and cruel. Maul's training culminated with one final challenge: a survival test on a savage planet where he was ultimately forced to face his own master in a duel. Only when Maul's turn to the Dark Side was complete and he was willing to kill his own master was he deemed worthy of becoming a Sith Lord. While Qui-Gon Jinn was escorting the fugitive Queen Amidala from Tatooine to Coruscant, Darth Maul swept down from above, lunging at Qui-Gon from his rocketing Sith speeder. Maul's attack was relentless; he hammered down lightsaber strikes against the accomplished Jedi Master, forcing him back time and again. It was only the timely interception of Qui-Gon by the Queen's Royal Starship that spared him. Qui-Gon was utterly surprised and unprepared for such an attack. The Sith, everyone knew, were extinct, disappeared from the galaxy for a millennium. Yet the evidence was there -- a dark attacker, trained in the Jedi arts, brandishing a lightsaber no less. Maul was dispatched by Darth Sidious to track down the Queen, a feat he accomplished through mysterious yet effective means. Traveling aboard his sleek Sith Infiltrator, Maul scouted the galaxy for the missing monarch, and reported his findings to his master. When Amidala returned to Naboo, Maul was there, waiting to face the Jedi once more. As an undeniable example of his skill and devotion, Maul plunged headlong into battle against two Jedi warriors. Using his double-bladed lightsaber, Maul held off both Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn in the heart of the Theed Royal Palace. When the Jedi became separated, Maul killed Qui-Gon with a well-placed saber strike. Kenobi, enraged, attacked Maul. This barrage was deflected by Maul who used Obi-Wan's touching of the dark side as a conduit for a Force attack; using the Force, Maul pushed Obi-Wan into a deep mining pit. Kenobi held onto an outcropping for dear life. Calming himself by calling upon the light side of the Force, Kenobi was able to surprise Maul, and cleave him in half with his saber.

DARTH TYRANUS (COUNT DOOKU) Lord of the Sith. Following the death of Darth Maul, Lord Sidious sought out another apprentice. With his plans quickly coming together, Sidious did not have time to train a new apprentice from birth. He instead turned to the Jedi. Focusing in on a powerful, and unsatisfied Jedi, Sidious recruited Count Dooku and quickly turned him to the Dark Side. Unsettled with the restrictions put on the Jedi in their studies of the Force, and feeling the Jedi betrayed themselves by serving the politicians, Dooku was quick to embrace Sidious' ideals, and took the tile of Darth Tyranus. Shortly after joining with Sidious, Tyranus discovered the secret clone army ordered by Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas on Kamino. Tyranus ensured the Republic would not find out about the army by erasing all reference to Kamino from the Jedi Archives. He also secretly funded the clone army, since it would play a vital part in Darth Sidious' master plan. The Republic did not find out that a clone army was being made for it until ten years later... just in time to prevent the Separatists from overthrowing the Republic. On the planet of Geonosis, the first battle of the Clone Wars broke out. Tyranus was confronted by the Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. An incredible lightsaber duel ensued, but ended with both Jedi being wounded, and Anakin loosing a hand. Before Tyranus could finish them off, Jedi Master Yoda interrupted him and showed Tyranus a thing or two about lightsabers. The duel ended in a draw as Yoda saved Kenobi and Skywalker from being crushed by a falling pillar, while Tyranus escaped in a shuttle. Returning to Coruscant, Tyranus joined up with his Master and began working on the next phase of their plans for galactic conquest. Count Dooku visited the planet Rattatak, looking for another world to add to the Separatist fold. What he found instead was far more promising. Asajj Ventress, a Dark Side warrior trained in the ways of the Jedi displayed her raw talent and fierce determination which impressed Dooku. The charismatic leader of the Confederacy was able to recruit the young warrior by appealing to her disgust with the Jedi and the Republic. Though Ventress longed to identify herself as a Sith, she did not receive Sith training. Although Dooku helped hone her talents, he taught her none of the knowledge unique to the Sith. Dooku would use Asajj as a deadly tool against the Jedi and the Republic. During the Separatist attack on the Republic's capital, Coruscant, Tyranus fought his last duel against Anakin and Obi-Wan aboard General Grievous' flagship. Tyranus bested Kenobi, but was defeated, and decapitated by Anakin.

DARTH VADER (ANAKIN SKYWALKER) 12th Dark Lord of the Sith. Born to Shmi Skywalker, and believed to have been conceived by the midi-chlorians. Moved to Tatooine at age three. Anakin and his mother were sold as slaves to Gardulla the Hutt, but Gardulla lost them to the Toydarian junk dealer Watto while betting on a Pod Race. Anakin was a young hot-shot pilot with force abilities. Very adept mechanically, Anakin built his own Pod Racer as well as building C-3PO. Anakin won his freedom by winning the famed Boonta Eve Pod Race, with a little help from the Force. Accompanying the Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn, his apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Queen Amidala to the planet Naboo, Anakin inadvertently joined in the space battle above the planets surface. He "accidentally" managed to knock out the power generator of the Trade Federation cruiser, destroying the battle droid control computer and winning the battle. Anakin was later apprenticed to Obi-Wan Kenobi in the ways of the Light Side of the Force before being seduced by the Dark Side. Anakin stayed on the path of the Light Side for more than a decade, sharing many adventures with his master. However, in that time, Anakin became good friends with Chancellor Palpatine, who was almost like a second Master for him. Palpatine encouraged Anakin to be the best Jedi ever, and even then began bending him to his will. Ten years after the battle of Naboo, Anakin and Obi-Wan were assigned to protect Senator Amidala from mysterious assassins. Master and apprentice would be forced to split up, with Kenobi tracking down the assassin and Skywalker acting as Amidala's bodyguard. Anakin an Padme spent much time together, hiding out in sparsely populated areas of Naboo. At first they denied their love for each other, but eventually gave in to it. Unable to stomach the constant nightmares about his mother, Anakin returned to Tatooine to find her. When he and Amidala arrived on Tatooine, they tracked her to a moisture farm, where Shmi's new husband Cliegg Lars told them what had happened to his mother: She had been taken captive by Tusken Raiders. Enraged, Anakin frantically searched for his mother... and found her just as her life slipped away. Seething with anger from watching his mother die in his arms from the beating the Tuskens had inflicted on her, Anakin slew the entire camp with his lightsaber. Men, women, and children. That was Anakin's first, irrevocable step toward the Dark Side. As fate would have it, Kenobi got himself captured by the Separatists on the planet of Geonosis, and Anakin and Padme decided to rescue him. They too were captured and the three sentenced to death in the arena. They managed to stay alive long enough in the execution arena for the Jedi to arrive and intervene. The Jedi were greatly outnumbered by the Separatist's droid army, but the tides turned when Yoda showed up with the Republic's new clone army. The battle on Geonosis would be the start of the Clone Wars. In the battle, Kenobi and Skywalker chased Count Dooku to a hanger bay and entered aggressive negotiations... with lightsabers. Dooku's superior swordsmanship prevailed, resulting in both Jedi being wounded and with Anakin losing his hand. Yoda showed up to fight Dooku, but the Count escaped to wreak more havoc in the universe. In a brief respite after Geonosis, Anakin and Padme returned to Naboo and were married. The two of them spent what little time they could together, while surviving in a galaxy torn by war. Anakin was full of both joy and despair with Padme's pregnancy, for he foresaw that she would die in childbirth. Wanting nothing more in the galaxy than to keep Padme from dying, Anakin succumbed to the lure of Darth Sidious' revelation that there were Dark Side powers that could keep her from dying. Sadly, his fall to the Dark Side ultimately drove off the one thing he most loved in the galaxy, Padme. In a vicious lightsaber duel on Mustafar between him and his then-master Obi-Wan, Anakin was horribly wounded and burned, which is why he wears the trademark protective black armor and breath mask. Before Anakin found out that he had children, the twins Luke and Leia, Kenobi hid them from him to protect them from their father and the Dark Side. Even Palpatine told Vader that Padme and his child were dead, knowing that if he knew he had children we would not be able to focus on running a galaxy. Seething with anger, Vader tapped the vast amounts of Dark Side energy through the ancient Sith teachings, and later became the Dark Lord of the Sith. As Emperor Palpatine's right hand, Darth Vader chased the Rebel Alliance to the far reaches of the galaxy. While trying to find the fabled Kaibur Crystal of Mimban, Vader finally encountered and fought his son, the young Luke Skywalker. In his last confrontation with Luke, Vader finally returned to the Light Side by throwing Palpatine into the reactor core to save his son.

KYP DURRON Self-proclaimed Dark Lord of the Sith. Born on the Deyer colony of the Anoat system. Kyp's parents were outspoken polititians who openly protested the Ghorman Massacre and the destruction of Alderaan. One night stormtroopers barged into their house and sent Kyp and his parents to the prison colony on Kessel, and sent his brother Zeth to the Imperial Stormtrooper Academy on Caridia. Kyp's parents were executed when Moruth Doole took over the Kessel facilities. Kyp survived and met a fellow inmate, Vima-Da-Boda, who taught him the basics about the Force. Later, Kyp escaped from Kessel with the help of Han Solo and managed to be captured again by Admiral Daala while fleeing into the Maw. Narrowly avoiding a death sentence from Daala, Kyp escaped again with Solo and the scientist Qwi Xux. While training at Luke Skywalker's newly established Jedi Academy, Kyp encountered the spirit of the long-dead Exar Kun and began gaining power through the Dark Side and ancient Sith teachings. Pissed off at the Empire for all the pain it has cause him and his family, Kyp furiously waged a one-man war against the Empire using the Sun Crusher and his newly acquired Sith powers. While visiting the site of Darth Vader's funeral pyre on Endor, Kyp claimed the title of The Dark Lord Of The Sith. Kyp eventually returned to the Light Side after Kun's spirit was destroyed by the other Jedi trainies and thus was no longer under Kun's influence.

DARTH SUKIOUS Lord of the Sith. For a long time, the title of Lord of the Sith was fought over time and time again. Each time, there was no victor, and no one to claim the title. As if out of no where, Sukious emerged, with a fierce will, and a devotion to the dark side. She has commited mass murders against governments that oppose her, and has taken over many planets. "Let Darkness fill the void of your soul". She uses deceit and trickery with the Force, a feat not done by many Sith Lords.

Sith Notables

QUEEN AMANOA Queen of Onderon, also known as the Dark Queen, and mother of Galia, the successor to the throne following Amanoa's death. Amanoa retained remnants of the Sith magic left from the time of Freedon Nadd, and was able to call upon the Dark Side Forces to combat the Beast-Lords of Onderon. She was buried in a stone sarcophagus and eventually entombed on Dxun.

GAV and JORI DARAGON Hapless explorers that inadvertantly allowed Naga Sadow to invade the Republic in the Great Hyperspace War. Left to fend for themselves after their parents were killed on a mercy mission in a war zone, they turned to the dangerous occupation of hyperspace navigating, mapping new hyperspace lanes in the uncharted frontier of the known galaxy. After several unsuccessful attempts at mapping useful hyperspace courses, they fell into dispair with no home and no ship; Aarrba the Hutt would not give them their ship until they payed for the repairs done to it in his service dock. With nothing to lose, Gav and Jori stole their ship back and escaped into unexplored hyperspace, hoping to make their fortune . . . but their path landed them right into the heart of the awesome Sith Empire. They were promptly captured and sentenced to death as the precursors to an invasion. Naga Sadow covertly freed them from the prison on Ziost to use them as pawns in his grand scheme. Sadow began teaching the Force-sensitive Gav Sith magic, and tricked Jori into fleeing back to the Republic without her brother. Unbeknownst to Jori, Sadow had planted a homing device in her ship and now knew exactly how to get to the far off Republic . . . to conquer it. Jori made it back safely to the Republic, and broadcast a warning of the comming invasion; but Jori stumbled headlong into her own tarnished reputation. She and Gav had left under bad circumstances, skipping out on large debts and obligations, fleeing the law. No one would listen to her accounts of the fabled Sith Empire and was instead dragged off to prison. After escaping from a prison colony, Jori managed to get her warning to the Empress Teta, who had already learned of the Sith's intentions from her Jedi advisors and was preparing her defenses. Meanwhile, Sadow gave Gav command of the Sith invasion fleet because of his knowledge of the Republic. He grudgingly accepted the command, but gave it up after realizing how much death and destruction Sadow's war was causing. In an attempt to kill Sadow, Gav was stranded aboard Sadow's meditation sphere as the Primus Goluud star exploded. Jori, however, survived the war and became the new owner of Aarrba's Repair Dock.

DURGE The bounty hunter known as Durge had weathered centuries of violence and warfare, emerging as a merciless and nearly unstoppable warrior driven by ancient vendettas. Though he identified himself as a bounty hunter, he held no guild allegiance, answered to no benefactor, and seemed to have no need of riches. He hunted for the pure sport of it, to feed an insatiable bloodlust that spanned literally hundreds of worlds and almost two thousand years. When completely encased in his battered high impact armor, Durge's true alien heritage was obscured. Though humanoid in appearance, Durge was a Gen'Dai, a rare species with an unusually long lifespan -- some Gen'Dai reportedly have lived for over four thousand years. Born two thousand years before the fall of the Republic, he was regarded by his elders as an exceptional physical specimen at a young age. A predilection for aggression, coupled by witnessing bounty hunters in action, forever steered young Durge into a lifetime of violence. Eleven hundred years before the fall of the Republic, Durge was hired to kill the leader of the Mandalorians. Though he succeeded, the Mandalorians struck back and managed and subdue Durge. Leave it to the Mandalorians to devise a means of restraining a Gen'Dai. They turned Durge's longevity against him, finding ways of inflicting pain throughout his scattered nerves. He was a victim of unspeakable torture, unable to die. Durge was able to escape the Mandalorians, and retreated to parts unknown to hibernate and recover. It took nearly a century to undo the damage the Mandalorians wrought. Though his physical body had healed, Durge's already dangerous psyche was pushed further past the brink of sanity. When Durge emerged from his slumber, he sought vengeance on the Mandalorians. He was cheated of his revenge as he learned they were all but extinct. He soon found purpose, though. He had awakened to a galaxy at war, a galaxy where the Jedi Knights led clone soldiers in battle against the automated troops of the Confederacy. The charismatic Count Dooku lured Durge into his ranks, and the ancient bounty hunter relished an ironic twist in his quest for retribution. The Republic clones were cast from a Mandalorian genetic template. In becoming Dooku's henchman, the bounty hunter was teamed up with Asajj Ventress, a Dark Jedi and commander within the Separatist military. The two were formidable adversaries for the Republic, and Durge took the lives of many Jedi with great zeal. Durge was also dispatched to bolster the security of Muunilinst, the homeworld of the InterGalactic Banking Clan. He organized and led a droid army of IG lancer droids, creating an elite rapid deployment military force to protect this key world of the Confederacy. Durge led his droid forces in defense of Muunilinst when a huge Republic taskforce attacked the planet. Durge's army inflicted great damage to the armored vehicles of the Republic army, but Durge was ultimately bested in one-on-one combat with General Obi-Wan Kenobi.

SIFO DYAS Under the orders of Jedi Master Sifo Dyas, the Kamino cloners began constructing a massive clone army for the Republic. The order for a clone army was placed without the Republic's, or the Jedi Council's, knowledge. Unfortunately, the Jedi Master mysteriously died shortly following the Trade Federation's invasion of Naboo. Not long after, Count Dooku found out about the clone army and ensured it stayed hidden from the Jedi Council by erasing all reference to Kamino from the Jedi archives. At the request of his master, Darth Sidious, Dooku secretly funded the clone army and maintained its secrecy. It would be ten years before the Jedi and the Republic would find out about their new army.

JANGO FETT Known as one of the best, and most feared bounty hunters in the galaxy. He wears Mandalorian armor, rife with hidden weapons, and sporting a jet/rocket pack. Hand picked by Count Dooku to be the model for the clone army. From his genetic material, the Kamino cloners created several hundred thousand clones to serve as an army for the Republic. During the ten years Jango spent on Kamino, he divided his time between bounty hunting and raising his "son", Boba. Jango likely worked purely for the money, and cared little for the schemings of Count Dooku and the Separatist movement. Nearing the beginning of the Clone Wars Jango took the contract posted by Nute Gunray of the Trade Federation to assassinate Senator Amidala. Jango Fett subcontracted Zam Wesell to do the job, but she died for her troubles instead. Intent on finding the assassin, Obi-Wan Kenobi tracked Jango to Kamino and confronted him... leaving with wounded pride at not winning the fight, but able to follow the homing beacon he placed on Slave I. Following the tracking device, Kenobi had another confrontation with Jango in the asteroid belt above Geonosis. Again, neither combatant triumphed. Jango finally met his end in the Geonosian arena at the hand of Jedi Master Mace Windu, just as the first battle of the Clone Wars was escalating.

BOBA FETT "Son" of Jango Fett, Boba is an identical clone of Jango. That was one of Jango's stipulations in the contract to be used as the model for the Republic's clone army. Trained by Jango from his very birth, Boba grew up living and breathing 'bounty hunter' all his life. His father treated him as both son and apprentice. This lifelong indoctrination molded Boba Fett into the greatest and most feared bounty hunter in the galaxy, even more so than his father Jango. Aboard Slave I, inherited from his father, Boba chased the most difficult and lucrative contracts the galaxy had to offer. That eventually led him to Darth Vader, who had placed a contract on Han, Chewie, Leia, and Luke. Fett cared nothing for the Empire, but noone paid higher bounties than the Empire. Beating out other top bounty hunters, Boba Fett captured Han, Chewie, and Leia in Bespin's Cloud City. Although Chewie and Leia managed to escape, with the aid of Lando Calrissian, Han was frozen in carbonite and transported by Fett to Jabba the Hutt on Tatooine. There Boba hung around, flirted with the dancing girls... and waiting for Leia and Chewie to try and rescue Han. They did show up for the rescue, but Boba ran into some bad luck during the battle at the Pit of Carkoon when the half-blind Han Solo inadvertantly wacked Boba's jet pack with a vibro-pike... setting off his thrusters and sending him careening out of control and falling into the Sarlacc Pit. Boba did survive several days in the belly of the Sarlacc, and eventually managed to blow his way out using his grenade launcher. However, Boba was terribly burned and scared from the Sarlacc's stomach acids. Luck favored him this time as Dengar found him, half-dead, laying on the sand near the Pit. Dengar nursed him back to health and formed an uneasy friendship with him. After recovering, Boba continued his bounty hunting until finally retiring and disappearing, living out the rest of his life in peace... until the Yuuzhan Vong invaded the galaxy. Seeing the immense threat that the Vong posed, Fett rejoined the Mandalorian Protectors in the fight against the Yuuzhan Vong.

GENERAL GRIEVOUS A briliant leader and strategist of his native Kaleesh, Grievous refused an offer by San Hill, leader of the Banking Clan, to join the Clone War as military leader of the Separatist's droid army. So Count Dooku and Hill arranged a shuttle "accident" that was blamed on the Republic and nearly killed Grievous. Mortally wounded, Grievous' brain, eyes and other vital organs were implated into a droid body created by the Geonosians. Enraged with the Republic, Grievous agreed to lead the droid army. He led the Separatists on many successfull campaigns against the Republic, leaving them stunned with his strategic prowese. Although he cannot use the Force, he is skilled in the Jedi form of combat, having been trained by Count Dooku. He travels with his droid bodyguards, Magnaguards, who wield electrified rods used for defense against most weapons (including lightsabers). During the Battle of Coruscant, he used his first wave as a distraction to kidnap Chancellor Palpatine. In the process, he killed all Jedi protecting the Chancellor except Shaak Ti, who he left alive as witness to the weakness of the Jedi. Grievous escaped a fight with Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker aboard his flagship, only to run into Obi-Wan again on Utapau. Dueling one lightsaber to Grievous' four, Obi-Wan still managed to disarm (literally) two of Grievous' blades. Later, after losing his own lightsaber, Obi-Wan managed to rip open the general's chest plate and expose his heart. Obi-Wan then fired several blaster shots into the exposed vital organs, killing Grievous.

GENERAL VAKLU General Vaklu was the military commander during the days of the Old Republic. He was a brilliant tactician, but he was cruel and heartless. He attempted to take over over Onderon's capital city, Iziz, but overthrowing Queen Talia. Vaklu was secretly in league with Darth Nihilus, and by becoming leader of Iziz, and ultimately all of Onderon, the Sith would be able to consume another planet.

SET HARTH Had Set Harth remained true to the Jedi Code, he could one day have become a powerful Jedi Knight. But from the beginning, Harth felt that the shortest distance between opposing viewpoints was violence, preferring fighting to talking. Following the battle of Ruusan, where his master died, Harth chose to continue his training by himself. He sought out knowledge and artifacts of the Sith. In his search he dueled with several Sith warriors, those that were not on Ruusan. During his combat, Set gave in to his anger, opening himself to the Dark Side. He later encountered a Dark Jedi, Bal Serinus, who he fought to a stale-mate, but where then both captured by a Hutt slaver.

LORD HETHRIR Lord Hethrir was the Emperor's Procurator of Justice, charged with carrying out death sentences imposed by the Emperor on individuals, or even entire worlds. Personally trained as a Dark Jedi by Vader, Hethrir wielded tremendous power - at least until the Emperor's death at Endor. Hethrir departed the Empire for the Outer Rim Territories, hoping to rebuild the Empire. Ten years after the Battle of Endor, Lord Hethrir encountered an extradimensional intelligence called Waru. This creature was brought into existence by Hethrir's scientists, and consumed the life essences of others in order to survive. For Waru to return to his own reality, he needed the life energy of someone strong in the Force. Hethrir was an opportunity to both appease the powerful Waru and to weaken the New Republic. He kidnapped the children of Han and Leia Organa Solo, and planned to sacrifice Anakin Solo but was prevented by Anakin's parents and Luke Skywalker. The enraged Wru took out its anger on Hethrir, and the two of them vanished from the known universe.

HOLOCRON TEACHERS A holocron is an extremely rare, crystalline storage device that serves as a repository of information. Embedded within the crystal, primitive holo-technology allows the device to display moving images of the data stored within it, usually in the form of teachers who contributed their knowledge to the creation of the device. The interactive technology enables the "teacher" to hold conversations with the holocron's user. Although Sith holocrons are extremely rare (even rarer than Jedi holocrons), there are a few known Sith that stored their knowledge in a holocron. Kla, the "gatekeeper." An ancient Jedi consular who turned to the ways of the Sith long before the coming of Darth Bane, Kla is an exotic humanoid with encyclopedic knowledge of the Sith Empire under Naga Sadow. He lies to those who access the holocron, telling them that they can only access specific knowledge by physically attaching the holocron to ancient devices sealed in burial vaults on the Sith graveyard world Korriban. His true intention is to lure naive Force-users to a place where they can be possessed by Sith spirits-including his own. Komok-Da, the armorer. Komok-Da is descended from the original Sith, the species conquered by the corrupted Jedi who founded the Sith tradition. A master of weapons and armor, he can provide detailed instructions on building any Sith weapon, including double-bladed lightsabers and Sith poison. He seems almost academic about his approach, apparently uncaring as to who uses his knowledge or how. In truth, he is obsessed with the killing power of his designs. He only discloses full information to those who demonstrate their ability to kill wihtout mercy. Bo Vanda, the alchemist. Bo Vanda is plainly insane - and just as plainly brilliant. She eagerly and happily displays graphic representations of alchemical processes working on helpless subjects, explaining in gleeful terms how the victim responded to the treatment. Should the holocron's user express a desire to stop viewing the material, Vanda shrieks her anger and derision that only the weak fear what they requested to see. She essentially dares the user to see each process through to the end and duplicate the experiments. Otherwise, she simply refuses to confer with the user, berating him mercilessly whenever she is called. (info from the Star Wars Dark Side Sourcebook)

CARNOR JAX He was trained as one of Emperor Palpatines Elite Crimson Guards and would later develop his meager Force abilities. After the Emperor's death at the Battle of Endor, Jax betrayed his oaths and sabotaged Palpatine's clones. As the remaining Royal Guards gathered on Yinchor to mourn the loss of their Emperor, Jax unleashed his stormtrooper forces. All but one Guardsman was murdered: Kir Kanos. Jax allied with other traitorous Imperial officers in a bid for Palpatine's vacated seat at the head of the Empire. Kanos tracked down Jax, the would-be Dark Lord, and killed the traitor.

KRATH SATAL KETO and his cousin ALEEMA, heirs to the throne of the Empress Teta system, formed the secret Dark Side society they called "The Krath," after a demon from the fairy tales of their youth. Captivated by the Sith culture, they began their road to the Dark Side by stealing an ancient book of Sith spells from the Galactic Museum on Coruscant. While on a fieldtrip to Onderon they were introduced to the ways of the Sith by the spirit of Freedon Nadd. As they grew more powerful with the Sith magic they boldly staged a political coup in the Empress Teta system and took control of it from their father. Aleema grew adept at using the Sith magic to create realistic, and frequently deadly, illusions. Satal was killed by Ulic Qel-Droma after he learned of Ulic's plan to destroy them and tried to assassinate him. In love with Ulic, Aleema joined him and Exar Kun to start the Sith War. But during the Krath's assault on Coruscant, Aleema betrayed Ulic and left him to be captured by the Jedi. After being rescued by Exar Kun, Ulic sent the unsuspecting Aleema on a suicide mission to attack Kemplex Nine; using an ancient Sith weapon that was aboard Naga Sadows old ship Aleema ripped the core of one of the ten stars in the Cron Cluster and threw it at the pursuing Republic fleet, destroying them, but also causing the star, and subsequently the other 9 stars, to supernova. The imense explosion obliterated Aleema and Sadow's ship, and also ravaged the nearby planet of Ossus, site of the Great Jedi Library.

LUDO KRESSH Powerful Sith Lord and arch-rival to Naga Sadow. Following the death of Marka Ragnos, Ludo Kressh was Sadow's only opponent for the title of Dark Lord of the Sith. An isolationist, Kressh felt the Sith Empire should stay the way it was; contrary to the progressive thinking of Naga Sadow who wanted expansion and conquest. Kressh saw the arrival of Gav and Jori Daragon as the precursors to an invasion by the Republic and had them sentenced to death. But the expansionist Sadow staged their rescue and made it look like the Republic really was invading. The Sith Lords were thrown into an uproar, seeing the evidence, and assuming they had been attacked by Republic forces. While attacking Sadow's fortress on Khar Shian, Kressh had inadvertantly waltzed into an ambush set by the Dark Lord. With Ludo Kressh out of the way, Naga Sadow was free to conquer the Republic. Having narrowly escaped, Ludo Kressh retreated to prepare his own plans to regain rule of the Sith Empire in Sadow's absence. With nearly the entire Sith fleet under Sadow's command off invading the Republic, it was not a difficult task for Kressh and he named himself the true Dark Lord of the Sith. But it was not long before Sadow's defeated fleet limped back to the Sith Empire, and even in it's depleated state was able to destroy Ludo Kressh once and for all.

LADY LUMIYA Shira Elan Colla Brie was born on Coruscant, and spent her life serving as a key agent of the Empire. It was Darth Vader who handpicked Brie for accelerated training in Imperial Intelligence. Her mind was enhanced through mnemonic drug training, her body hardened through expertise of exotic martial arts. Proving herself a capable agent, Brie was dispatched by Vader to infiltrate the Rebel Alliance. Badly wounded in the failed attempt to discredit Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader had her body rebuilt and enhanced through mechanical implants. Aware of her promising strength in the Force, Vader trained her to become a new Emperor's Hand. Following the Emperor's death at Endor Lumiya established herself as the chief of security for the slaving guild, and was wounded during the attempted arrest of Princess Leia. She would finally reunite with Luke Skywalker on the planet Kinooine, and a spectacular duel ensued, ending in Lumiyas defeat. Her current whereabout are unknown, but she did leave behind a legacy of one pupil - the treacherous Royal Guard named Carnor Jax. (info from starwars.com)

MANDALORE A mercenary warlord, conqueror of the planet that now bears his name, near the Empress Teta system. Mandalore the Indomitable lost a forced confrontation with Ulic Qel-Droma at the Harkul plains, and became a willing servent to him. He and all his Mandalorian commandos joined Ulic and Exar Kun in the Sith War against the Republic. "He is an antecedent of Boba Fett and the Mandalorian supercommandos of later generations, and like Boba Fett, wears a metal mask that covers his entire face." Following the final battle on Ossus, Mandalore and his remaining warriors retreated to the jungles of Dxun in an attempt to lose their Republic pursuers. Unfortunately, Mandalore the Indomitable fell to the mighty beasts of Dxun. Years later, another Mandalorian warlord took up the mantle of Mandalore and lead the Mandalorians during the Mandalorian War. After three years of bloody fighting with the Republic, Mandalore the Ultimate was finally killed by the Jedi Revan and Malak.

FREEDON NADD A Jedi, he was seduced by the Dark Side of the Force and apprenticed himself to a Dark Lord of the Sith. Unable to become a Dark Lord as long as his master lived, Nadd fled to Onderon and made himself king. Even after his death, the spirit of Freedon Nadd kept the Dark Side of the Force strong on Onderon by secretly teaching all the successive rulers in the ways of the Sith. The tomb of Freedon Nadd was a location of concentrated Dark Side power. This reign of darkness was brought to an end when the Jedi interceeded in the Beast Wars and later quelled the Freedon Nadd uprising. His sarcophagus was eventually moved to Dxun. But the spirit of Freedon Nadd did not stop there. He started Exar Kun down the path of the Dark Side by showing him the secrets of the Sith on Korriban and Yavin 4. And it was on Yavin 4 that Exar Kun acquired the Sith amulet that he used to destroy Nadd's spirit forever.

LORD NYAX Once known as Irek Ismaren, purportedly the son of Roganda Ismaren and Palpatine, he secretly trained as a Dark Jedi on Coruscant. When another Dark Jedi showed up, they partnered up for a short time before disagreements lead to a duel. Ismaren killed the other Jedi, but not before receiving a fatal lightsaber thrust through the skull. Not wanting to accept her son's death, Roganda got medical droids to keep his autonomic functions going, and replaced his damaged brain parts with electronics. He was placed in a suspended animation unit surrounded by ysalamiri (to isolate his force abilities) in a secret research facility in the atmosphere processing facility on Coruscant. He would not emerge until shortly after the fall of Coruscant to the Vuuzhan Vong. When he did emerge, his body was stretched to 3 meters tall from biological manipulation, and he was brainwashed with Dark Side and Sith training. His damaged brain could not handle complex thought, which left him as an incredibly powerful, yet simple minded Dark Jedi... a deadly combination for any opponent, even Luke Skywalker.

KING OMMIN of Onderon "The King of Onderon, and father of Galia. A direct descendant of Freedon Nadd, he was confined to a secret nursing facility, living on life-support equipment for years, but still able to call upon the spirit form of Freedon Nadd in order to practice Sith magic. He was killed during the Freedon Nadd Uprising" during which with the help of Nadd's spirit he tried to take control of Onderon once again using Sith powers.

ULIC QEL-DROMA A headstrong and overconfidant Alderaanian Jedi apprenticed to the Jedi Master Arca Jeth of Arkania. Along with his brother, Cay Qel-Droma, and the Twi'lek Tott Doneeta their first mission as Jedi Knights was to bring peace to the planet of Onderon. They managed to end the centuries-old civil war between the Beast-warriors and the inhabitants of the massive city of Iziz by directly interceding and fighting, to the dismay of Master Arca, instead of using their mental powers. With the help of several other Jedi they put down the Freedon Nadd uprising that followed shortly after. During the massive assault by joint Republic and Jedi forces at Koros Major against the Krath, Ulic was wounded by shrapnel and infected by Sith magic. That failed attack and the assassination of Master Arca on Deneba precipitated Ulic's decision to join the Krath and destroy them from the inside. While infiltrating the Krath, Satal Keto learned of Ulic's plan and trieed to kill him. But instead Ulic killed Satal with anger that was heightened by sith poison that Satal infected him with. In the first confrontation between Ulic Qel-Droma and Exar Kun the spirits of past Dark Lords of the Sith interceded in the fight and declared Kun the new Dark Lord and Ulic his apprentice. This was a turning point for Ulic, for he had irrevocably started down the path of the Dark Side. From then on they joined forces and, along with Aleema and Mandalore, started the Sith War in an attempt to reshape the galaxy into the new Golden Age of the Sith. During the aborted assault on Coruscant, Aleema betrayed Ulic and left him to be captured by the Jedi. Ulic was to be tried for treason against the Republic, along with many other charges, but was rescued by Exar Kun during the trial. In return for her betrayal, Ulic Qel-Droma sent the unsuspecting Aleema on a mission that would end in a massive supernova set off by her Sith magic, ultimately destroying her, her ship, and the nearby planet of Ossus. All this time his brother Cay had been trying to convince Ulic to end his stupid mission and return to the Light Side. But that came to and end when in a fit of Dark Side anger Ulic killed his own brother, and then fell into shock after realizing what he had done. Upon witnessing this, Nomi Sunrider, Ulic's ex-love, used a Jedi power taught to her by master Odan-Urr and imprisoned Ulic in a wall of Light, making him blind to the Force. With no connection to the Force, Light or Dark, Ulic realized his faults and began his redemption by leading the Jedi to Yavin 4 so they could destroy Exar Kun. Stripped of the Force, Ulic went into self-imposed exile on Rhen Var. There he hoped to sort out his thoughts and emotions in peace, but that was interrupted by the arrival of Nomi Sunrider's daughter, Vima. She insisted he train her as a Jedi, to which he grudgingly agreed. However, Sylvar managed to track him down as an enemy to the Republic for his actions during the Sith War. In a vicious lighsaber duel that ended bloodlessly, Sylvar finally was freed from her anger. Unfortunately, Hoggon, the freighter pilot that brought Sylvar to Rhen Var, shot Ulic in the back. Ulic Qel-Droma died in the arms of Nomi Sunrider and vanished as a Jedi master becoming one with the Force.

RAIN (Zannah) and TOMCAT (Darovit) Two unlucky force-sensitive children who would play a small part in the rise of Darth Bane. Rain and Tomcat, along with their cousin Bug, were conscripted to fight with the Jedi against the Sith on the planet Ruusan. When they first arrive on Ruusan their ship is ambushed by the Sith, and Rain is lost out a hole blown in their ship. Tomcat makes it to the Jedi army encampment and is immediately unnerved by the apperent lack of strength of the Jedi. In the heat of battle Tomcat eventually loses his control and releases his anger. Angry that the Jedi seem weak, Tomcat joins the Sith, feeling that they are the ones who truly use the force to its fullest extent. After falling from their ship, Rain was saved by a sentient, and force-sensitive creature native to Ruusan. Her immense Force powers begin to manifest, and she eventually meets Darth Bane. In an emotional confrontation, Tomcat ultimately kills his own cousin and friend, Bug. Narrowly escaping death when the Sith thought bomb detonated, Tomcat confronts Bane and Rain... losing his right hand, and his dignity. Rain joins with Darth Bane, possibly becoming his apprentice. Tomcat forsakes both Jedi and Sith and wanders the universe as a normal man.

RAKATA EMPIRE The Rakata Empire existed thousands of years before the Galactic Empire. They built their vast empire using the Dark Side of the Force. Their abuse of the Dark Side would ultimately lead to their downfall, for their empire fell apart as they lost their connection to the force completely. The Rakata Empire's legacy would live on in the form of the Star Forge: a giant orbital space-station/factory that drew its power from the sun it orbited and from the Dark Side. Malak and Revan would later use the Star Forge to drive the New Sith War.

SITH SHADOWS The Sith Shadows are a band of mercenaries led by a zealot Force-wielder named Mellichae. Mellichae was a promising student of the dark side, being considered for a position as one of the Emperor's Hands, alongside Mara Jade. However, things took a brutal turn for Mellichae when it was discovered that he held such low regard for the Emperor and his politics that he planned to assassinate him and insert himself as the new Sith Lord. Darth Vader himself dispatched Mellichae, severing one of his limbs and leaving him for dead. In a rare mistake on Vader's part Mellichae survived, and has harbored his bitter rage over the following years, growing increasingly more insane. Mellichae has formed his own band of followers now, called the Sith Shadows. His mercenary group consists of smugglers, pirates, outlaws, and murderers of all kinds. Their dark personalities mesh well with Mellichae's goals, allowing them to survive under his rule. No one joins the Sith Shadows lightly, and no one has ever left their employ alive. Mellichae, the Zabrak, is a mercenary. He believes he works for the Emperor, though the one time he did try to trace his payments back any further than three or four steps he hit a brick wall like nothing he'd ever encountered. Some of his men speculate that they're actually working for Black Sun. Prince Xizor certainly had his own animosity towards the Jedi. And yet, despite their not keeping a low profile they never seem to be arrested, they're rarely harassed by local Imperial politics, and they seem curiously well funded. They call themselves The Sith Shadows, or more often just the Shadows, since they're affiliation with the Sith is mostly wishful thinking." (from Star Wars Galaxies video game)

SEPARATIST MOVEMENT In the ten years preceding the Clone Wars, thousands of systems seceded from the Old Republic because they felt it had become ineffective and had grown too ponderous and unresponsive. Many powerful systems and organizations like the Trade Federation, Banker's Guild, and Corporate Alliance banded together against the Republic. Promising free trade without tariffs or restrictions, Count Dooku rallied nearly half of the Republic's number to the Separatists, and with huge droid armies planned to overthrow the Republic. Unbeknownst to all, Dooku in fact was Lord Sidious' Sith apprentice, and the Separatist Movement was all master-minded by Sidious as a means to divide the republic and create a galactic situation where he could get the senate to vote him emergency powers. Effectively paving the way for him declaring himself Emperor. As the Separatist's plans were first discovered by the Jedi, the Republic's clone army was unleashed... and the Clone Wars begun. The revolution was eventually quashed, but it left Supreme Chancellor Palpatine with total control over the Senate, and the means to establish his Empire.

TRADE FEDERATION "A corrupt coalition of merchants composed of officials from many planets. Considered greedy and immoral, the Trade Federation blockaded the peaceful world of Naboo to protest the Republic's taxation of galactic trade routes. When this failed to impress the Senate, the corporation unleashed a secret army of battle droids and well-equipped vehicles. The Naboo and their allies eventually repelled the invasion when Anakin Skywalker destroyed the Trade Federation's droid control ship." However, the Trade Federation was in fact a hapless pawn of Darth Sidious. The outcome of the invasion was irrelevant to him since it was only a monumental ploy to get himself elected to Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Senate. Enraged at the betrayal of Darth Sidious, the Trade Federation allied itself with Count Dooku and the Separatist movement. The trade federations battleships and battledroids were a strong part of the Separatist's army in their fight against the Old Republic during the Clone Wars.

ASAJJ VENTRESS One of the most deadly and tragic opponents to emerge from the battlefields of the Clone Wars was Asajj Ventress, a disciple of the dark side and sworn enemy of the Jedi. Much of her past remains shrouded in mystery. Ventress hails from Rattatak, a barbaric world where violent bloodshed is a daily occurence. The primitive world is far from the Republic borders, and somehow, a young Jedi named Ky Narec came to be stranded on this forsaken world. Cut off from the Jedi Council, Narec took it upon himself to train a Force-strong young girl named Asajj Ventress. As a result, she had the skills of the Jedi combined with a raw, unfocused talent in the Force. But she never controlled her instinctual fury, and when her master passed away, she developed a hatred for the Republic that had abandoned her mentor, and had ignored the atrocities of Rattatak. Shortly after the outbreak of the Clone Wars, Count Dooku came to Rattatak, looking for another world to add to the Separatist fold. What he found instead was far more promising. Ventress' raw talent and fierce determination impressed Dooku. The charismatic leader of the Confederacy was able to recruit the young warrior by appealing to her disgust with the Jedi and the Republic. Dooku confirmed Ventress' bitter ideas that the Jedi had abandoned their ethics and convictions. Ventress proved her skills by challenging Dooku to a duel. Though Dooku won in the sparring contest, he invited Ventress to accompany him back into the Confederacy as a personal protg. Though Ventress longed to identify herself as a Sith, she did not receive Sith training. Dooku taking her on as a Sith apprentice would have violated the ancient covenant of only two Sith Lords at a time. While Dooku helped hone her talents, he taught her none of the knowledge unique to the Sith. Her skills were a combination of incomplete Jedi training coupled with her own techniques. Her raw talents and bottomless well of anger and pain bolstered her dark side abilities. Giving into her rage granted her further powers. Ventress proved to be a cunning military mastermind, and Dooku made her a commander within the Separatist army. One of her first assignments was disrupting a meeting between Jedi Master Mace Windu and a group of dissident Jedi. Dooku had no compunctions about exploiting and lying to Asajj to meet his ends. He told her that Windu was responsible for the abandonment of her former Jedi mentor. Asajj did battle with Windu on the moon of Ruul, and though Asajj was forced to flee the fight, Windu came to realize that a new and dark menace to the Jedi was at large. General Obi-Wan Kenobi followed Asajj to the chemical weapon development plants on Queyta. Asajj was tasked by Count Dooku to once again offer Kenobi a chance to join the Separatists, but the Jedi refused. Asajj again escaped to plague the Republic on other battlefronts.

ZAM WESELL A changeling bounty hunter hired by Jango Fett to assassinate Senator Amidala. Her first attempt failed when she blew up the Senator's ship as it landed on Coruscant, and only managed to kill her bodyguard/decoy. For her second attempt she delivered a pair of venomous, centipede-like Kouhuns to Amidala's apartment via an assassin probe droid. This failed too when Anakin Skywalker barged in and dispatched the Kouhuns with his lightsaber. Obi-Wan Kenobi dove out the window and grabbed onto the probe droid before it could escape, but escaped anyway with Kenobi hanging on to it. As the probe droid neared Zam's lookout position, she expertly shot down the droid... leaving Kenobi to plummet to his death. However, Anakin had also taken up the chase and caught Kenobi in a speeder. That began an incredible speeder chase through the countless level of Coruscant, ending at a seedy, lower-level bar. Zam was wounded by Kenobi's lightsaber as she tried to ambush him in the bar, and subsequently died by a toxic saberdart fired by Jango Fett.

SUKIOUS' STUDENTS Darth Sukious was the leader of the Dark Council for a long time, and trained many students. Her students were fiercely devoted to ehr and the dark side, and trained many of her own students. In someway, these students may be the future for the Sith.
