Wrapping her fingers around the cold metal of the shopping cart beneath her, Pell peered ahead down the tiled floor of the grocery store aisle, occasionally making "rocket" noises. Though in reality she was riding on the bottom part of the cart, the toddler was having quite a fun time imagining that she was in a space ship on her way to the moon; a spaceship that occasionally stopped and said, "Buy one get one free? All right!"

Giving a sigh of frustration, she climbed out of her "rocket." The mission was having technical difficulties right now, mainly in the Wotcher area. He always talked to himself at the grocery store.

Guessing that her protector was too busy chatting up bottles of syrup, Pell began to wander down the aisle, looking at the boxes and packages surrounding her on the shelves. Though she couldn't read what the boxes said, the pictures made it easy to guess what was inside.

Oh, especially that one! That box had a picture of a cake on it! But it was too high to reach. Hmm. Putting her feet on the lowest shelf, Pell reached for the box. Almost there! But just as she was grabbing it, her other hand lost grip and she began to fall.

In a vain attempt to steady herself, her wings flapping madly behind her, Pell grabbed even more boxes. Despite this, she fell...along with a dozen or so boxes of cake mix.

At least she got that one box down?

Helen strolled down one of the aisles, a basket in one hand and a baby crooked in her other arm; it would have made more sense to get a cart, now that she thought about it, but she wasn't here to get too much of anything, and going back to get one now would be kind of stupid.

She took a glance at the child she was holding and wondered what exactly she needed to get; baby food would be best since this was, after all, a baby.

Looking at her surroundings told her that, no, this was not the right aisle; cake mix and maple syrup a baby food does not make. "I should try looking at the signs above these things before I wander into one of them," she muttered, and was about to continue on her merry way when she heard a crash.

A minature crash of several boxes and perhaps a body.

Helen made her way to the source of the commotion in a matter of seconds, and kneeled down, carefully, to peer at the child who caused it, who looked rather funny in her opinion. "Hey, are you alright?"

Sure, the magnitude of the fall wasn't that great, but, she was still curious.

Boxes were everywhere! Sweeping a view of the aforementioned objects off of her, Pell then held her head in her hands, wondering how she had managed to drag so many off of the shelf. She'd wanted to get one cake down, not eleventymillion!

Pell ears opened wider as the question was asked. She'd been expecting it. Wotcher always asked it first. Then, after he found out she was okay, he would start to yell at her for the thing that had caused him to ask the question. Except that totally wasn't Wotcher's voice.

Removing her head from her hands, Pell turned around to look at questioner. "Yeah. Was tryin' to get this cake, but they all jumped off the shelf." That sounded better than 'I fell,' at least.

Her eyes traveling over the stranger, the toddler's eyes lit up when she saw what the woman held in one of her arms. "You have a baby," Pell exclaimed excitedly while climbing to her feet to get a closer look. "What's its name? I like its hat. Can I play with it, pleease?"

Her questions were interupted by another question, this one by Wotcher. "What did you do," he asked, blinking at the amount of boxes on the aisle floor. He'd been trying to decide on a type of syrup when crash!

Maybe he should just pay someone to grocery shop for him.

Helen almost laughed, almost, but decided that wouldn't be a very nice thing to do; she had to admit, envisioning boxes jumping off of a shelf was an amusing thought, but, that wasn't the point here. "You should have been a little more careful, or, at least, you should have asked someone to get it for you; it's less trouble that way," she advised.

Her advice was more than likely going in one ear and out the other, which, she noticed, were shaped like flower petals, as the child asked question after question about her baby. "Yes, this is a baby. Don't call her an it, she's a girl and her name is Orenda, what about yours?"

Really, these were too many questions to be answered for her taste, but, she would try her best to satisfy this kid.

"I don't think it's a hat, and, if you're not going to get in trouble for this whole cake business, sure," she finished, noting the approach of another person.

Turning as Wotcher approached, Pell grinned up at him, a semi-guilty look on her face. "Was tryin' to get cake. But they all wanted me to eat them, so they all jumped off!" She spread her arms wide at the surrounding boxes. "So, um, are we gettin' any cake?" If possible, the grin grew wider.

Wotcher stared blankly at the toddler. What? Since when did boxes jump off of shelves? Since when was cake mix sentient and decided that it wanted to be eaten? Shaking his head and uttering a "Maybe" to Pell's question, the man began to pick up the boxes, ignoring the woman and her...was that a baby?

Pell turned her attention back to the baby, leaving her protector to pick up the boxes himself. "Orenda is a pretty name! My name is Pell and I'm a girl, too!" Just incase the strange lady couldn't tell.

"But if it's not a hat, then why is it on her head? Is she an alien?" At her next question, Pell tried to get an even closer look at the baby. She'd never seen an alien before!
