Okies, I might as well get this subforum started and talk about my one problem that I haven't been able to fix very well. I have a huge over-reactin' problem. For example, if my mate just so happens to get hurt ever so slightly I will have a huge panic attack and go into a huge rant about how I stink at protectin' her and eventually she'll die before I can see her again and on and on until she gets really angry or really upset. This isn't just with my mate, I do it with almost everyone. If someone says they haven't eaten all day I get all worried that they're anorexic and don't like who they are and will end up hurtin' their health to look "in" and so on and so forth. People get really angry at me because I over-react so much and get all upset over nothin' and I keep tryin' not to do that but because of a certain incident a few years back, which I think is what caused me to start over reactin', I can't seem to get over it. Any advice?

Hm,see I suck with advice but I shall try my best.
Overreacting... you seem to be a very optimistic person,I don't think I can picture you overreacting..I prolly overreact a lot especially when I'm angry..but ok here goes my lame advice:
Don't blame things on yourself,if your mate gets hurt its not your fault, its not your job to prtoect her from every little thing in the world,we are humans,we get hurt and theres not really anything you can do to prevent that... um... Get other peoples sides of the story before you even THINK about reacting lol, therefor you have no time to overreact
thats my lame advice, sorry I couldn't be of more help... xp whee

Hm. First of all let me just say this. fallenxangel-xx, have more confidence in what you say. Sometimes, even if you don't know for sure if what you say will help, actin' like you believe strongly in it can help a person believe ya more and feel better. If you don't have confidence in what you say, how can others have confidence as well?
And on what you said, I know all that stuff and I know I shouldn't over-react and there's no reason to, but for some reason I still do it. It's like I can't control myself and I just sit there watchin' myself go out of control and think "What am I doin'? This isn't gonna help, stop it" but I don't. Also, I have a problem trustin' people so I tend to believe I know what's goin' on through their mind and if they tell me otherwise they're lyin' and tryin' to hide how they really feel. sweatdrop

eek wow...clearly im not even capable of giving good advice, especially at 11:16pm... sweatdrop cause honestly i feel...not empathy actually, more sympathy...and when you feel sympathy you're not really able to help cause you don't even know how the other person's feeling...you care, but you just don't know how they feel sweatdrop to that extent anyways...cause i can overreact like that too sometimes
