On Martha: Martha is maeking me like herrr. She was pretty good in a crisis. It pains me to say this but, she did make a better first impression than Rose. Plus I like her hair.
On the ep: RHINOS IN NEW ROCK. OH YEA.

Imagine Martha, Jack and the Doctor in that gloooorious 'wooden' box. Very intimate. wink
Seriously though. I love this episode and just... wow. So many little things I really liked about this episode. My reaction (very spoiler-y, but who comes into an episode discussion thread expecting no spoilers?):
1) SPACE RHINOS~! ON THE MOON!
2) I loved the sonic screwdriver got broken, his spazzy moment upon realising it ('but I love my sonic screwdriver!'), how the Doctor was a bit lost for a moment without itand how he just made a new one.
Not to mention the mention of a ...was it laser hammer? Unsure, have people around me cracking jokes about 'atomic handsaws' so bit muddled.
3) The cheap trick made me grin. Clears what's ok and what's not when crossing time lines/events once more. Plus the smexy brown suit came back.
4) BAREFOOT~! ON THE MOON!
5) As much as I came to like Rose, I am glad there was not emo-ing in this episode. Christmas episode, Runaway Bride? Emo-tastic. In a very cute way but still. This one, the Doctor seemed still upset and adamant about Martha not replacing her, but not overly so.
6) IT'S RAINING~! ON THE MOON!
7) Martha herself I really really liked - to the point she made a much better impression than Rose. The fact that she thinks you need to earn the title Doctor and was learning to be one. That she's a smart one and the Doctor noticed this, can imagine that's going to be fun. Very flirty, very fun. Family seems to be a laugh too. And to be shallow...'all the right curves in all the right places'. More eye candy is nice ^^;
8.) That really cute doctor. Going with the space-rhinos to tell people not to panic, explain a bit more, and he did look so shaken when they excecuted that one man.
One downside only - There was no Captain Jack. I wanted Captian Jack. But there is the promise of Captain Jack to come so that's okay.

RTD should probably hand over the reins of breaking in the new season after this rather lacklustre offering. It's gotta be hard to keep thinking of stuff to hook the new viewers with and the strain's starting to show, apparently, as this was by far the weakest opener of the new series so far. It's sad when the only thing you can really enjoy about an episode is the title. Oh, and the upwards rain I guess. That was pretty nifty ;D Otherwise this was pretty much Doctor Who by-the-numbers with any number of old ideas being trotted out to perform their party piece for the crowd. Intergalactic threat disguised as a harmless member of society? Check. Aliens zap the mouthy human? Check. Humans overreact to said aliens because of their closed minds and intolerant natures (unless you're names Martha or Rose, granted)? Check, check and checkaroo. There was even the obligatory earthquake and exploding lab scene.
I guess if I have gripes with this episode, and I do, they could probably be summarised in this handy list of faults I've decided to draft:
-Neat aliens that were ruined by not being given anything exciting to do in the script. -Inapropriate RTD omnisexual wittering in the dialogue (kids, ask your parents what a leather fetish is! ;D) -The WORLD is SAVED by UNPLUGGING the DOOMSDAY device. Watch this doctor, he's a smart one >.> -The doctor dying and then completely failing to regenerate as his species is prone to. Funny that. -Rampant kissery and otherwise needless melodramatic tat. (He carries the unconscious body of Martha through the hospital in his arms, why?) -Interminable corridor-running type shenanigans the likes of which crop up far too frequently when Russ' is captaining the good ship TARDIS.
In other news, Jetty's back. Deal with it.

Yeah Captain Jack WILL be in Series 3 but i predicted it won't be till like half way into it,plus you see him in the Trailer saluting and you also see The Doctor and another person (Wearing a long trenchcoat) running down a dark corridor.

It was on the moon. The moon is cool. I like the moon. And the whole sonic screwdriver thing. Did anyone notice the reference to something somewhere, about thefact that the Doctor, along with other Time Lords, can survive for a while without oxygen? He still has his pinstriped suit!!!! biggrin

Lol i got confused at the beginning when the Doctor bumps into Martha going 'this is how it's done' and takes off his tie and throws it on the ground then later to be seen in the Hospital surprised to be told he was out in the street, but it made ALOT of sense when he proved to Martha he could time travel.

Thank you Cow Demon! XD
@Jettrick: From that post I get that you expect we should have a problem with your differing opinion...? (Maybe I'm reading it wrong?) I don't always like what RTD does in Doctor Who (Or Torchwood - Cyberwoman's metal bikini...) and I don't care who knows it. Since it's my own opinion on it. ^^ It's just a shame you didn't care for it~
I kind of liked the leather quip. Snicker.

Edit Thank you Cow Demon! XD @Jettrick: From that post I get that you expect we should have a problem with your differing opinion...? No, I just expect you to 'deal' with it in whichever fashion you must. I'm sure some people will aqree and some will disagree-I'm just trying to pre-empt anyone who might feel inclined to accuse me of treason because I decided I didn't like the episode. It's happened before, so from now on I build my own escape clauses =D
