Name: Internet DatingLocation: A concentrated amount in the US and other populated and advanced countries but I'm sure it exists elsewhere. Type: Depends on the outcome of the relationship.Facts: Internet dating allows for long term relationships to occur and often between two people who have not met face to face. It allows for people to avoid the temptation to do things that are not as easy to avoid if you see your significant other every day where touching and kissing can become boring and dull leaving sex as an exciting choice which leads to all sorts of unwanted problems. Yes, there is the added threat factors and people who decide to be in an internet relationship need to be aware of before they even consider internet dating. Yes, they can turn out ugly but the stories that do turn out ugly are only a portion. There are internet relationships that work out, you need to remember that what gets put in the news is biased and gruesome, bloody things tend to make better stories than another internet relationship that worked out.

Things to Remember
-The second site doesn't have information on all of the honest people that are out there trying out internet dating along with the stories of internet relationships that have worked out.
-If you are talking with someone online, there is a person talking back to you (even if it is a 40 year old freak). You can't really generate conversation.
-It's better to love someone for their personality than how they look. If they have the smarts, you can keep up conversation and a relationship going than if the relationship revolves around looks. Those can get boring easily. Why do you think celebrity marriages never last?
-There are sick-o's out there, what is stopping them from looking you up in a phone book and randomly murdering you? (Yes, stupid reminder and a scary one but it is true.)
Also, as a conversation starter, I would like to know: Do you think that internet relationships are good or bad (I would prefer your opinion of before and after you read the two sites I have provided)? Do you think that love can survive lengthy distances? Is there any information that I didn't provide that you would like to see? Also, any other comments that you can give as well as any success/horror internet dating stories that you know of personally. Thank you!
(Note: I'm not doing a poll on the first question because I would like to know people's personal opinion. We are not going to bash you for what you believe, we have no right to. WEG_champ2010 rolleyes Well you know how I feel about this. And unless someone can give me a good reason as to how dating online has anything to do with world issues, it will be deleted. Sorry Em, but I don't see how dating online will either help or hinder the status of the world. The world needs acts not unfufilled dreams. It does.
If it is causing murders, then it's an issue. It's more of an undertone of a world issue but it is. There is nothing that is stopping people from internet dating and there are people who are out there waiting to find those sometimes 'desperate' people who are weird sick-o's just waiting to kill these people for either their money or for the fun of it. Also, there is the issue of rape which ties in with abortion.
It is an issue just not one we hear of every day.
