I saw all politics in this subforum, so here's some religion.

Yeah, so, what are you, Christian, Buddist, Islamic, or any other religion I may have accidentally omitted. Or, do you have your own belief system?

Me, I'm a christian, but I have my own strict moral code. I believe in God, not the church.

Christian. the bible is 100% word of God, no mistakes, and good solid evidence for anything.

Intriguing, what about the church, do you think there are things in the bible that the church may have manipulted or left out to keep the followers of christiantiy in line?

man will do anything to appease his own selfish gain. belive that there may be some errors and bias in the TRANSLATIONS. but take it back tot he straight greek and hebrew and i belive it's 100% accurate. meanwhile man will add and take away form the bible to work thier own agenda, and Revelation has some harsh words for them.

I think the bible was the first text ever written in which women played some type of an active role.

I believe in jesus and he believes in me.

I was a christian untill a short while ago, in fact, I quoted the bible when I was three, but... I dunno. My dad was a pastor and on the way home from a late-night praying at church, he fell asleep while driving home and crashed into a tree, around when I was two and a half.
I'm not saying god, if there is one, did it. I'm not even sure that's the reason, but there are a lot of things in the bible that I disagree with. Like I believe anyone has the right to marry whoever they want. I also disagree with the right of the father being able to sell their daughter.
but i do believe there is something out there.

Christian. Born-again, Bible-believing Christian. It was God and his gift of Jesus' death, or self-centeredness and the abyss. I tried self-centeredness for a while, but exhausted my resources.

Evil is going to happen to you and your loved ones whether you are on the side of God or not. Would you rather be on your own, or have someone to cry to when that evil happens, as it surely must?

I have a brother-in-law who exemplifies everything that was rotten about old-style American Protestants...God had been so diluted out of the culture for him, that he decided Christ was not for him. And he converted to Judaism.
Now he's ticked off at God because he finally read the Old Testament and was appalled at all the deaths God ordered...as if God were just. As if God dared to be the judge of nations. How dare God not be for man's hedonism!
I should sic some Pentacostals on my bro in law. stare

ATTN: CHRISTIANITY CAME FROM JUDAISM. JESUS WAS A JEW.

'K, got that out of my system. It's just really annoying when Christians try to say junk about Jews.

I'm agnostic. Somewhere between Christian, Wiccan, and Atheist, I suppose.

I agree with the Christian and Wiccan moral codes, like the Threefold Law and the Commandments. Agreeing is not the same as obeying, though. xD

Atheist because, though I want to believe, I always have this voice in the back of my mind (not in the schizo way) telling me that there is nothing.

Mmm...not only Jesus was Jewish...his family, his friends, the apostles, the first Christians were Jewish, and Moses, and King David, and...get it?
Sorry, it's such common knowledge that Jesus was Jewish that I forget that non-committed Christians and others could ever get thunderstruck about my complaining. You don't understand, and that's OK, because I will explain, although I am annoyed at your snap judgment. I'm immature that way.

Humanity fell from grace with God.
A need for Law came into being.
God chose a people to have the Law. Currently, we call them the Jews.
These Laws apply to everybody.
Nobody can keep all the Law.
Nobody.
Sacrifice of life was the method provided to atone for breaking the Law.
Jesus Christ is the ultimate sacrifice. He atoned for the sins of those who choose to accept him.
Without receiving Christ,
there is no redemption.

If someone goes from paganism to Judaism,
that is a step up. At least then he/she now has the Law.
If someone goes from Christianity to Judaism, that is a step backwards.
The Law points the way to Grace. Grace alone doesn't work, and the Law condemns.

If you still don't get it, and chances are you don't, ask for clarification.

We all have those negative voices in the back of our heads. My atheist boss calls them "negative self-talk" and counsels positive self talk. A pastor might call them Satan's voice and recommend prayer and rebuking in the name of Jesus.
Either way, if there really is nothing, why do anything?

That's unusual!
But maybe not so rare nowadays.
